Hello! My Lenovo P1 fell in water. When I opened it in order to clean it from water I broke a black plastic part that is used to secure the LCD digitizer cabling.
Do you know if I can find a replacement for this??
pictures please, I'm not sure which black plastic part you meant...

hi,
my prophet's tıouch screen was broken. i want to replace it and i have got a new one.

Question about touch screen
My prophet is kinda crazy with the touchscreen. It needs to be calibrated every minute. almost every time i need to use it. I have cleaned it very well. Also the dust under the case but it still has the problem. I am now convinced that the digitizer is the problem. I can get it for a reasonable price. I know how to disassemble the prophet, but when you have the screen (the whole lcd) in your hand. How do you take the digitizer apart? How do you install the new one? Can somebody help me or give me another advise to rescue my old digitizer!
i just changed my digitizer yesterday..
it's pretty scary because you have to cut the top layer off..
this layer is a touch mask and a glass..
so when you cut it of form the sides the glass brakes..
then you have to cut loos the digitizer's connector, stick the new digitizer on and solder the connector back on..
it's realy scary to do but with me it worked, just lay everything you took apart in the right order so you can put the pieces back properly..
i got my digitizer from ebay, it game with screwdriver, digitizer, case opener and a protection film..
oh yeah, and a little piece of cloth to clean your screen ^^
good luck!
The parts are also available (cheaper) here:
http://www.phoneystore.com
Removing the touchscreen from the LCD is a delicate operation, because you run the risk of cracking the LCD.
To remove the touchscreen, you should use a very thin piece of fishing line. Wrap each end around your index fingers (like you would with dental floss) and wedge the line between the touchscreen and LCD. Move the line from side to side and it will cut the touchscreen free.
thanks to both of you. I´ve just bought my digitizer from phoneystore.com. Waiting for It to arrive. Told you when I have the part.
hi all..
basically i new to all this. i wanted to fix my defy digitizer myself instead of paying ridiculous money for some one else to do it.
i found this vid on you tube called (cant post links, new member) -
MB525 Motorola Defy Disassembly Part 1 + part 2
after watching was left wondering,
if could re use front casing?..
if i could remove digitizer from front casing without using heat gun?..
if i had to use any kind glue or sealant to attach digitizer to front casing?
any help or instruction would be great!!
thanks for your time!

I was wondering the same thing. I accidentally dropped my defy face down on the cement and need to replace the digitizer. Anybody have any experience with this????
thanks,
I've had the same problem.
My so-called life-proof Defy fell from about 3 feet and the screen cracked. So much for a shock proof phone. I've already had to replace the earpiece after only four months.
I've found plenty of sellers for screens on Ebay but I would like a Gorilla Glass screen and I have no way of knowing if what they sell is the real thing or a cheap plastic imitation that will scratch easily.
Does anyone know who I can turn to in order to find an original screen/digitizer?
As far as changing the screen, apparently you need to unglue it completely from the front casing and glue the new one back on.
Hope this helps,
cheers,
Arnaud.

Defy is water resistant, scratch resistant, and dust proof. It's not shock proof, not even shock resistant.
Sometimes it based on luck. I drop my defy 4 feet onto a shiny polished cement floor and it bounched a few times. Pick it up and inspect throughoutly. Well, not a scratch on it, everything work except for my heart-bit nearly stop...!
Help,my defy spotted dead pixel. Digitizer still functioning. Where can I buy front glass with digitizer and LCD panel together? Don't want to seperate apart digitizer and LCD .prefer easier fixing
Sent from my MB525 using XDA
Anyone has suggestion on defy front glass casing with digitizer and lcd attached? It easier to fix then seperate digitizer and lcd screen
Have you looked around on Amazon?

Try cnn.cn
Hi,
I had to replace the screen on my defy once. It was a major chore. I ended up scratching the frame while prying off the screen (its stuck on with some pretty strong glue). I also had to use my own glue - I used water proof clear silicon. When I got it together, my Defy looked beat up. The silicon was too thick and I ended up cracking the frame near the screws.
I recently ordered the housing, screen from: www.cnn.cn . And while it was expensive, it came with a sticky outline that I used to easily replace the screen. I was able to discard the frame of my first defy with the nicks. The end results is that my defy looks like new, even though the back and side might have some nicks and cuts.
I think the store ships from HK. It took a while for it to arrive, but it usually does arrive. I'd recommend it.
-------
EDIT: I just reread and you probably will just need to replace the LCD and not the Digitizer. The Digitizer is glued on to the frame but the LCD underneath is free and pushed by the mainboard to the digitizer. You do not need to replace the digitizer in order to correct the LCD issues. In anycase, the choice is yours. CNN.cn does not sell the LCD however.

Wow thanks buddy!! The digitizer is working 100%, usable. The only problem is black dead pixel even reboot to recovery mode, the black dot still can be seen in blue wordings in recovering mode. Since the changing the LCD doesn't require changing the digitizer, That save lots of money.
Heard LCD sceen has to be OEM cos compatibe may not boot up?

I would always go with oem. The lcd is buy far way more expensive than the digitizer unfortunately. Good luck.

Hi guys I have a LG G Pad 7 v400.
My 2yo recently got my GPad wet I think I saved the CPU/motherboard From getting wet but the screen did get wet. I can see what appears to be water damage behind or between the screens. Was wondering if anyone knew if the digitizer and Lcd are fused together or separate.
Or if this is water inside the LCd.. I have ever never debt with water damage before so thanks for any help... Here is a picture.

You'll most likely have to buy a new LCD panel and replace it. Depending on where you live, there are shops around that will do it. I know around here, we have 2 shops that do phone and tablet repair. They are very good.
That's what I was thinking. I was just hoping someone would have a quick fix. I do all my screen repairs myself i just hate to have to replace the screen on 10 do old tablet..

Actually you can do it yourself to. Opening 7.0 model is so easy ( I try write today manual for this too). Right now it looks this way.
If you familiar with heat gun and detaching digitizers at lcd, then you just can detach digitizer, dry and clean digitizer and lcd, and you are done.
One little warning: You must start detaching at top side g pad to down side simultaneously with both sides (left and right), because digitizer connecting cable placed on bottom side, where the charging port located. You can have little preview here.

That is where I am at rite now. I disassembled my G Pad.. The last thing I want to know is. Is the LDC & digitizer fused together like a lot if the newer phones or is it just glued around the edges with double sided sticker tape.?
Thanks for you help...

This is quote from thread, what i found, when i wrote howto for g pad 7.0 teardown:
Tip and Warning! For all these who start change only digitizer.
Investigated how digitizer/front glass is attached to LCD plastic bezel I found that digitizer can be detached from LCD plastic bezel with heatgun and metallic pry tool (or some other thin tool).
You MUST start detaching at top and moving with both sides to bottom.
Be careful, the digitizer cable located on bottom side near connector where goes mainboard flex cable. You can see it on 08.jpg (not best photo, but you can get aim).
