How do you get Youtube to play in full screen mode on your lg g7 thinq? When I go into the settings on the phone ? and go to apps scaling, I don't see Youtube listed, Please Help!!
Just 'pinching out to zoom' while watching a video in full screen works for me I guess.
How do u get it to full screen, pinch to zoom is not working for me.
I figured it out, it was a Youtube update that I hadn't done.

I used to have my phone rooted on lolipop. Mainly for that extra video feature of 60fps. I'm pretty sure that was the need for rooting either that or slow motion. But pretty sure it was 60fps. Well anyway I unrooted my phone and went back to marshmallow and just recorded some video today of fireworks. I used UHD mode expecting only 4k video. Turns out I uploaded it to youtube and it was uploaded as 60fps. Any ideas? I'm going to look for an app that shows the full meta data in the meantime to double check this. But I was under the impression the vs986 LG G4 for Verizon didn't record in this format. I could be wrong.

False alarm. Windows 10 shows it's at 29fps. Don't know why youtube upscaled it automatically instead of allowing the 4k. I did forget to mention though that since it uploaded in 60fps to youtube it didn't allow the 4k resolution to be used and is instead maxed out at 1080.
I've got a problem with my Honor 8 Pro (EMUI 5.1, Android 7.0).
Whenever I play a video fullscreen on YouTube, I notice the brightness of the screen increasing. After I leave the fullscreen mode the brightness doesn't change unless I close the app.
Black colors look washed out thanks to this and watching dark videos is problematic. Anyone else with the same issue?
I which fw version you are?I dont have that problem.Try update phone to latest B188.

I have all updates installed
Did you try to repair software via Hisuite or reset to factory settings including erasing all files from memory?Really strange problem.
I have this same issue on Emui8 .. Besides Amazon prime video
Every single app turns the contrast weirdly high and the black colors are not black anymore.. Awkwardly enough I have to constantly keep a finger on the screen to view a video normally in MXplayer.
When I'm watching any HDR10 content in landscape on the YouTube app, the display brightness goes haywire and continually goes all the way up and down by itself. It only acts like this when viewing full screen. It does this on both vanced YouTube and the regular app but not when playing directly through the YouTube website. I turned auto brightness off and it still does this. Does anyone else experience the same problem? I own the L29 btw

Thank you! Working great now It didn't have any option besides a codec override toggle. No S8+ or pixel choices but it still solved the problem. Thanks again
Hi,
I'd like to address this issues, my device is a H815 AICP rom but it didn't even work with the stock rom before I UsU-ed it.
Sooo it doesn't really show up the 1440p option on YouTube even though it has a 1440p display and used to work but it didn't work since March of last year, it used to buy now it just shows 1080p no matter what video you are trying to watch. Please help ?

search for you tube vanced force video to desired resolution.
Guys im the only one who stuck with 720p videos in YouTube app?
Can't change to higher resolution no matter what kind of video
Solution: force close app.
Open app in unfolded screen. Choose high resolution. Fold it back to small screen Now u can set any resolution u want on small screen
I guess its a glitch.
yes so sometimes it detects only small screen and defaults to 720p. Force close the app and then open youtube on big screen it will show full res options again.
I tried the hard reset and it fixed it for some videos. I could get 1440p for some videos.
However, I went onto a different video without exiting youtube and again it's showing only 720p when my note 9 gives me 1080p for that particular video.
I have a huawei tablet and for that I installed a sideloaded youtube that forces all resolutions, but I don't really want to do that if I dont have to for the fold.
I used youtube vinced and fixed this problem
