Not going to happen, my friend. One) AT&T Note 5 has a locked bootloader which won't allow software to be loaded that isn't signed by AT&T. If you somehow get the software to load, it will not boot. Two) The CDMA network hardware for Sprint is not present in the AT&T Note 5 which uses GSM network.

I wanted to know what if I buy a new AT&T Samsung Galaxy note on a 2 year contract and leave the US after a month what will happen and can i unloack it to use it with another GSM provider outside the US. Also i read something about 850/1700 mhz what is the frequency used by AT&T.
Thanks in advance.
I bought a used Verizon Note 3 and the shop I bought it from set it up to run on Tmobile ... I would like to try a Tmobile ROM and want to know if that will cause any conflicts with my service from Tmobile. I don't care about wifi calling, if that makes any difference ...
All responses appreciated!
Not possible to install TMO Note 3 roms on a Verizon Note 3, as long as your Verizon Note 3 has LOCKED BOOTLOADER. I don't think there's a way to unlock it. Bad Verizon, Bad ATT, pure evilness.

I think you can get around it with Side Strap. That's what I have on my rooted Verizon Note 3.

No, unfortunately the GN4 is not unlockable in the U. S. It can be unlocked for international use but not in the US. Your stuck with sprint.
Not possible
No, sorry. Sprint phone's are CDMA locked, so, they can only be used on CDMA networks. This includes the Note 4. Hope I helped. :good:
Hello,
I recently joined Sprint's network. I am aware that their phones are CDMA-based, unlike T-Mobile's and ATT's, which are GSM-based.
My mother has a Note 3 in good condition that she is getting rid of, and I'd like to keep it; but it's a T-Mobile model, and have been trying to find info. about whether or not the phone can be made to work in Sprint's network after unlocking it.
Any information is greatly appreciated.
No, 2 different types of radios. work with any GSM based carrier like T Mobile AT&T etc but not sprint
should work in 2020 as sprint is now owned by tmobile
I have AT&T service.
I live in the country and my only internet service is on my phone (Satellite sucks). I can get 4G in certain spots in the house.
I'm considering buying a Verizon Note 4 (because it's cheaper than any AT&T Note 4).
I did this last year for my wife's phone and had no real problems switching to AT&T -- sim, data, phone, hotspot... all working. The problem is all the Verizon software. I want to get the myAT&T app so I can check account level data usage (and if I must then I'll add all the extra crap AT&T loads).
I'm considering buying another Verizon Note 4, rooting it, and replacing the software with AT&T firmware.
I have some questions:
1) Is there a certain version of hardware to watch out for? (I've read that some Verizon Note 4's LTE hardware is not compatible with AT&T -- is this really a problem?)
2) Are there many problems attempting to root a Note 4?
3) Is there an up-to-date AT&T firmware download site?
4) What's the best (and up-to-date) site for instructions on updating the firmware?
Should I just pay the extra $100 and get an AT&T model?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
as a user of BOTH the AT&T and Verizon variants of the Note 4
The Verizon Note 4 is better for personal customization
AT&T Note 4 for the full band use
1. no, I am using AT&T service on my Verizon Note 4. Full 4G LTE service at my city, messages, and calling is not a problem as the Verizon variant has both CDMA and GSM radios
Meaning, the Verizon Note 4 is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile
You just need to set up the APN yourself
But a google search will fix that problem and AT&T has the APN info on their website
so everything works in the end
2. only need to unlock the bootloader and use moderate use of ADB
but ONLY if you have the Samsung eMMC motherboard in the in the Verizon Note 4
there is Samsung's and Toshiba's
Only the Samsung one can be bootloader unlocked
No luck for the Toshiba variant
3. there is a way to overcome that. Custom ROMS, the thing is. There is no AT&T ROMS for ANY Note 4 except its own phone
And you can just install an ASOP Custom ROM (i.e, Lineage OS, EmotionOS, CyanogenMod 14.1, CyanogenMod 13, etc...) and install the AT&T apps from the Google Play Store, or remotely remove all the Verizon bloat with Titanium Backup with TouchWiz (That's what I personally did)
either you are a modder, or an average user
If you are a modder, get the Verizon variant, unlock the bootloader (If you have the Samsung eMMC), install TWRP, and install an ASOP ROM and install the AT&T apps on the GPS or root the phone with Samsung's TouchWiz and remove the Verizon Apps with Titanium Backup
If you are an average user, root, custom ROMS, TWRP isn't a necessity to you
Soi just get the AT&T Note 4
Me, I will NEVER buy another AT&T phone for as long as I live
I'm done with AT&T locking bootloaders
But it's up to you my dude
I'm just stating my opinion
BTW, Verizon and AT&T do have different hardware
Install Verizon Software into an AT&T phone or install AT&T software into a Verizon phone
WILL mess up the device
and probably brick it because even if both of them have locked bootloaders by default
They do have differences in the booting sequence and installing a bootloader into a phone that does not support the software
You WILL hard-brick the devices
or not
I really don't know and i would not want anyone to try it out
I hope this answers your questions
Peace my dude
Hi. Idoont know if you can flash at&t firmware on vzw note 4 but I do know its unnecessary. The Verizon model isn't sim locked . all that's needed is at&t APN info to be entered into network settings. If the Verizon apps bother you flash an international base (910f/g) . they have no carrier bloat. If you use a specific at&t app (god I can't imagine why) it can most likely be ported
