[Help] Moto Z Play - Won't charge or turn on. - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

Hi guys, i hope i'm in the right place to ask it.
My Moto Z Play fell and won't charge or turn on anymore and i need your help xd.
Here is the information i've gathered.
- Sometimes, when i plug my cellphone to the turbo charger, it heats up, like it's charging, but doesn't display anything on the screen.
- If i hold the volume down and power button, sometimes, a white led blinks, but only once, not like everybody is mentioning that it keeps blinking.
- I plugged it into my computer, it recognized as Fastboot Addison S, then i downloaded some drivers mentioned in this forum and other forums, it recognized as Motorola ADB Interface.
- I've tried all USB Ports, 2.0 and 3.0, the cable is the original one and my windows is 10.
- RSDLite won't recognize my device, i'm using the lastest version, qflash executable won't regonize my phone either, it hangs on "waiting for device".
One of the weirdest things is that, when people text me over whatsapp, later, like hours later, the message gets double marked, like it's been "acked" AND I COULD EVEN CONNECT TO WHATSAPP WEB FOR LIKE, 30 SECONDS, then it disconnected and i couldn't do it anymore..
I've seen a dude on the internet saying that i should try to charge my moto z play with a charger with higher amperage, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. What do you guys think, do you guys have any suggestion?
I appreciate your help,
Arthur Passos.

I'd say it's worth a shot to try charging with the Moto Turbopower 30 but overall it sounds like something disconnected inside when you dropped it.

what model is yours? - -01, -02, or -03 ? Win10 may be a prob for you. I always keep a dual boot for win7 for that and old games.

usb drivers for windows 7

Hi,
I want drivers for xperia s, plz any body provide the link, also when i connect to chrage the red led, start diming whats the problem?
thx
If the led starts dimming it's not the driver problem.
Windows 7 will auto detect and install drivers for you, what's the problem?

Did you try another microUSB cable?
And does it starts dimming on wall charger?

You can try to connect it to wall charger and leave it for a few hours, battery could be completely drained. I'm not sure why it's dimming, it never occurred on my Xperia S.
Is the bootloader locked? Did you try flashing fw with flashtool?
Windows 7 should automatically install 3 necessary drivers for the xperia S. 2 are auto installed when you first plug the phone in BEFORE you get the prompt to install PC companion (if you have that enabled in the phone). The 3rd auto-installs when you put the phone into flash mode (phone off, volume down held while plugging in the usb cord).
If you are having problems related to these drivers...head to device manager with the phone plugged in, look for 'portable devices' and uninstall the device and quickly unplug the phone. The next time you plug it in, windows should start the installation process over again. Do this before having flashtool running, or even installed for that matter (if you haven't yet)...
like anything windows though...your results may vary. I've done this on 2 different windows 7 machines...one at home, and one at my office. My home computer calls the flash mode driver 'SEMC Flash Driver' or something...my work machine calls it 'S1Boot Driver'...i've never seen these flipped, as in, never got the S1Boot driver at home or vice versa...yet flash tool works regularly on both, AS LONG AS PC companion isn't running...that screwed me up more times than i can count.
anyway though...after that, make sure PC companion is not running...and install flashtool and its driver package (might as well do all of them, the names are a bit confusing as you'll see the detailed installation list containing stuff not listed in the installation prompts).
After that, reboot windows...after the restart, if you're having issues with the phone...its a pretty safe bet its not the drivers...
while doing google i found that its battery is got dis, and its hard bricked windows doesn't recognize it and its just dead

Hold the volume up key and power button for roughly 10 seconds. It should vibrate once after 2 or 3 seconds, then 3 times towards 10 seconds of holding both...after that, it should reboot...If the battery is truly dead, it may not fully boot...but will hopefully accept a charge after that...
if it doesn't work, report back...there are 50 page threads everywhere explaining how to get out of various stages of 'brickage'...
doesn't work plz share the url of thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
there are more threads in the general section. If you search 'xperia brick' or something similar, you should find multiple threads. Be sure and read through them as much as possible, as one thread often answers/mentions any number of different causes and fixes.

HTC M8 Dead. Doing strange things. Help appreciated.

Hey all,
Got a second hand HTC M8 in an auction yesterday and it was marked as being faulty. The usual.
Plugged into my 5V 2A charger. Orange LED came on for about 5 seconds then goes off.
Tried again and again. Eventually got it to stay solid Orange for about 5 minutes before it went off.
Plugged it into my PC and it installs "Care Suite Emergency Recovery".
And that's where I am stuck. I google Care Suite and all I get is stuff related to Nokia.
However, I did come across one that says that it's a "Dead Boot" - Bricked in other words.
Just thought if there is anyway to save this device. Even though it is old, it would be still nice to get it going again.
And I have tried Key combos and nothing (P, V Up, V Down for a minute etc).
I have no idea if the previous owner tried to root the phone or anything. It's anyone's guess.
Any help would be gladly appreciated.
Thanks!
Try charging for several hours (such as overnight) on wall charger (not connected to PC). Then try power+vol up for a minute or 2. Or just power button for a minute or 2.
I don't know what "Care Suite Emergency Recovery" is. But it's normal to get the Qualcomm download mode message when connecting to PC whenever the phone is powered off. That message (Qualcomm download mode) also appears in the case of a true brick (JTAG or new motherboard needed). But it doesn't definitely mean a brick. It just means the PC can't talk to the phone, and that happens if the phone is simply powered off, or battery dead.
I'm assuming/guessing the message "Care Suite Emergency Recovery" is a similar or same symptom.

Model G3223 - Charging Issues and Black Screen/Flashing White Light at Boot

Hey everyone,
So, I got a new Xperia XA1 Ultra (G3223) through a trade running stock Android 7.0. Checked everything and initially it looked fine.
Over the last few days, things have been acting weird. Every time I start the device, it gives me a blank (black) screen with a blinking white notification light - it doesn't even show me the boot screen at times when it boots. Just yesterday, I got it to boot by pressing VOLUME UP + POWER after being in that state - but, that's not normal. Does anyone know why in the world my phone does that?
Furthermore, when using the Sony charger that came with the device, it takes over 6 hours to charge and doesn't even show the charging sign while charging. Could this be an Android 7.0 bug or is something seriously wrong with my phone? Only one time since I got it, did I get it to charge normal with the charging sign and everything; it actually charged quite rapidly at that point.
Any help would be appreciated with this, guys, because I'm at a loss. I do want to mention that the device doesn't seem to be recognized by the computer, so I'm not even sure that the cable is original.

Try a new cable and/or charger. (I found I had a bad charger once)
Since you had computer issues, I'd start with the cable. Also check the charging port on the phone for debris/damage.

Okay, I'll do that - but, do you have any idea regarding the blank screen issue, my friend?

How is your phone turning on? Power button or inserting the USB cable?
Only thing I can think of is perhaps a stuck volume key placing the phone into recovery or flash mode.
Try turning on the phone with no USB cable attached. Before you turn it on, press the volume keys a few times to make sure they aren't stuck and then power on.

The thing is that it's weird.... For one, sometimes when I use the touch reset/turn off button, it takes at least two minutes to reset, or it doesn't even reset. Then, when I turn the phone on while it's off, the phone sometimes enters into this weird state with the flashing white notification light. I never power on the phone via USB cable, so I don't know, really. Yesterday, I shut the phone off to test it, plugged the phone in to charge it, it wouldn't charge while off, but then hit power on, and then it wouldn't turn on, so I used VOLUME UP + POWER, and then it turned on just fine.
Hi
Happened also to be with my older Xperia J.
Backup your phone (cause you'll lose your data), connect it to a PC (or Mac) and install Xperia companion, then select "repair phone" or something similar (I know the written in Italian version ).
Wait and it will be all fine.

Nothing helps..?
(I will post this also here, cos no one answered @ zukfans yet)
Hi! I think I need to ask help now.
I've managed to hard brick my Z2 with QFIL trying to update the phone from zui 2.something to 3.5. Well obviously that did not end up good.
My phone went to a stage described in some cases: White light blinking every 15 seconds or something and phone vibrating. Ok, I tried to shut the phone down by keeping and releasing after second blink. Did not work. Then I tried to hold for two or more minutes. It seemed to work first but suddenly also that didnt work (kept power pushed for ten minutes or more). Ok, the I made the cable described here. I did a jumper cable from my usb extension cord. Windows reacted to the phone but did not recognize it. Nothing showed up in device manager or QFIL or MiFlash. The phone keeped on vibrating and a left it like this for the night. I guess battery ran out and phone finally shutdown.
I continued and same results. One time windows recognized a unknown device for some seconds but it did not show up in device manager or MiFlash. After that nothing. Now the phone only blinks the light. It vibrates only when trying to charge it or plugged in PC. I don't now if it's on or not. Anyways, the same results with windows: reaction, but no recognition. I've tried to pull usb out and change to another slot etc.
Also I've installed Zuk 1.05 drivers, MiFlash and tried also with Qualcomm drivers. Uninstalled everything and tried again. Nothing seems to help.
Could this be because of Windows 7? Or bad extension cord? Or what...? Any advice would be appreciated.
edit: It was not Windows problem I guess. I installed fresh Windows 10 with no help. Actually worse. No Windows is not reacting at all. Maybe it's the jumper cable I created. I didn't want to ruin my only USB-C.
edit: Ok. Back to Win7. Now there is no reaction at all also in Win7. The phone vibrates when connected to pc. Otherwise phone seems to be off. No lights flashing. If power is held down white led flashes briefly but no vibration.
edit: Now if I connect the phone to laptop the led blinks every 0.5 seconds... I have no idea how turn the phone off. It seems to be off while not touched because nothing is happening...
@Pelepako
Try this,just a copy paste
2.0). Turn off the phone. If the phone boots up (reboots) then immediately to point 2.1
2.1). Put wire on the 2nd contact on the left
. And together with the wire insert into the PC (at the same time the phone is already connected by cable).
2.2). After 5-10 seconds, take out the usb plug with the wire. Remove the wire and insert the plug back.
2.2.1). If you do not have a bootlap, but it hangs on MI, on the boot process, etc. Hold the POWER button and insert the USB plug with the wire into the usb port. The screen goes out and you get what you want.
3.1). Your device in EDL mode.
3.2). Click REFRESH in Miflash and see your device in COM format.
3.3). Flash firmware at your discretion.
Thanks for the instructions.
Still nothing. Windows 10 does not recognize the phone in any way. The phone vibrates almost immediately when plugged in. Then nothing. Sometimes (before) I got Windows to recognize it as "unknown device".
2.0 Turning off the phone. I'm unpluggin the battery. I guess that does the job? At least nothing is flashing or vibrating.
2.1 I inserted a paper clip as in the picture.
Dunno if it's a driver thing. I've installed different Zuk driver version, Qualcomm, MiFlash, QFil, ADB.. you name it. I've turned on the Test Mode in Windows (driver signature). I've tried two different cables. One of them is the original. Tried the paper clip trick and the wire connect trick. Nothing is working. There has to be some flaw that I'm not noticing. Can't be the only one who really got his phone bricked...
About the drivers:
Ive installed zuk 1.05. Is it ok? Tried also 1.06 and 1.08.
How to install ADB. I've used ADB installer and installed system-wide. Should I also install the device driver (Google)?
Qualcomm drivers. Cannot manually install. With Miflash etc. some Qualcomm drivers get installed.
Do I need to install Fastboot and ADB "executables"? Where do I need these in my situation? Nowhere?
What abou QFIL? Is it necessary if I'm using MiFlash?

Ok. Just found out that the only 2.0 port is broken. There is no second pin. At least anymore. I might have broken it in some point.
Other reason for malfunctioning could be the circuit board of the phone. The previous owner in all his wisdom had glued the battery cover with super glue. As I opened it it ripped of some of those circuit materials that conduct electricity. The broken part is near the usb port of the phone. Maybe if I put the cover back it will work cos the ripped parts are still glued to the back cover..
So back to the issue.
The broken part of the phone seems to be speaker so it should not affect the connection I guess. I also fixed with conductive silver paint. Still, no help.
Just found out that the charger and probably also the cable are not original ones. Maybe this is the reason for this is not working. I cannot come up with any other solutions. Now I would need to know which usb cable would qualify for the procedure. How can tell which is a proper cable before buying it? Also does the micro-usb cable work if I have the convertor dongle (Samsung made)?
edit:
Ok. Sometimes the led blinks every 0.5 sec. Sometimes phone vibrates every fifteen or something seconds. Only way to get the computer to react is with modded usb extension cord -> green to black. This way Windows recognizes an unknown device. That's it. I cannot install Qualcomm drivers for this or do anything else. This way Windows makes this connected sound every 0.5 seconds and the phone led blinks. After a while it stops and the phone is marked as "unknown device". Also if I connect the phone to a charger it blinks all the time (0.5s) and vibrates occasionally. Then after a while the led calms down and blinks every 15 seconds. And then back to 0.5s with vibration. All these symptoms seem unclear and I haven't found anyone suffering from same kind of problems...
Really am I the first that really bricked this one? I didn't even use the phone yet. Just checked it and tried to update the system cos it was old version.
I assume that the phone has to be off after disconnecting battery cable so that should not be the problem here.
@narshi shukla
I turned the phone off by removing battery. It does not reboot after shut down before I connect it to computer. Few seconds after connecting to pc it vibrates shortly. Nothing else happens after that. Same with and without the wire.
I've tried so many different methods that I'm giving up with this I guess. Am I the only one who got his phone permanently bricked. After all I tried to flash by following instructions. The flash failed and phone went on crazy vibration and screen on for some seconds after that it was vibrating every 15 seconds. Then suddenly it stopped doing that. Now it does only if I plug it to pc or charger.
The "black green wire trick" is strange. If I only connect those two wires nothing new happens BUT if I connect green to black and black to green by tying instead only touching the phone vibrates and led blinks every 0,5 seconds and windows also makes the connection sound even though it is not working.

Huawei P30 Lite Bootloop

Good day,
My HUAWEI P30 lite only switches on when the phone is on a power cable - if not it won't switch on at all. When on (Plugged in), it is stuck and does not boot beyond the Huawei logo screen. (When the logo appears, it stays that way for about 10 seconds, and then it goes off and on again in that loop.
Notes:
- Just to reiterate that the phone only switches on when plugged in. (Charger in wall socket or "USB C to USB C" using laptop's USB C port.)
- When using the "USB C to USB C"-cable plugged in to the laptop's USB C-port, the HUAWEI HiSuite software does not recognize the device - Not sure if that is because I'm not using a "Normal USB to USB C"-cable?
- When the Huawei logo appears, the "Powered by Android" does not appear at the bottom of the screen. (Don't know if that's relevant but rather safe than sorry.)
- I recently had the screen replaced (Not an official Huawei screen)
- I recently installed a game from an apk file that a friend sent me. (Did get a system warning that it might be "untrusted", but I installed it anyway and the phone worked fine.)
- The phone is 3+ years old and I have noticed for the last few months that when the phone is on or below 10% battery life, it goes down to 0% really fast and switches off if I don't plug it in in time. (This led me to believe that the battery might have gone?)
Please can someone assist? I don't want to pay for a battery replacement if that is not the root of the cause and won't solve the problem.
(ps. I really really really don't want to lose my data.)
