update question - Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact Questions & Answers

Since getting my phone a couple of weeks ago I have received a few updates.
Today I received another system update but they never seem to include a changlog to actually tell you what's been improved.
Anyway of finding this out?

these updates almost only include android security patches updates, if you look well in the changelog you should see it

There is never anything with the update telling you what the changes are.

Manually update AFTV

Does anyone know if there is a way to manually update the AFTV?
The new update is availlable for download at http://www.aftvnews.com/software/
Thx
No. All you can do to speed up the update is to keep checking for system updates by clicking on the setting. The past three updates have taken six days each before it would let me update. Just click where it says check for system updates and it will either show the last time you checked or say there is an update. Do it a few times a day and it will let you know when its available, but like I said, it always takes my device six days from the first release to get updated so be patient. Clicking the setting over and over will not speed it up either so just check periodically and if its available for your device, it will tell you. My update should be ready in about three days so I guess I will have to wait for it too.
Thx
Sucks, i thought there was a way to update using the bin file. this wait doesnt make sense.
I am in Kentucky in the US and as I ssaid it always takes six days for me to recieve the update after its first released so its probably gonna be a couple days, which isn't much longer to wait. It was released on the 24th so I should have it on the 30th.

Got the 6.0 OTA update info. It was there one day, but it doesn't show up anymore?!

I have a european no brand G3 D855 3GB (non rooted). Near the end of March I checked for updates and it showed the M available, with change log, etc. I was low on battery so I choose not to apply it at the moment, counting on completing it the day after.
Except when I checked again the next day, it said that I was on the latest available versions (5.0!), with no further updates available.
I kept checking on various occasions, but it seems definitely gone.
Has this happened to anyone other?
Is there a way to clear whatever "flag" may have been set and redo the proper search & discovery?
Thx!

Moto Z Play New System Software

Since I first turned on my Moto Z Play, it keeps telling me that there's a new system software available (version: MPN24.104-44), that updates Android's security and some improvements for the Moto Snaps. It seems like a Motorola update.
Has anyone been also prompted with this message? Is the update worth it?
Cheers!
Not had that in the UK. Only got my Z Play on Thursday and no software updates have prompted me and I have none when I try to check manually.

Great! I always am a little reticent to update carrier or manufacturer software, that's why i didn't update it yet. Mine's still updating for the MPN24.104-44, let's see if after the update it asks for the MPN24.104-49 update.

Question A13 upgrade is mandatory in system update?

Hi All, it might be a stupid question but A13 upgrade in Pixel 6 Pro is mandatory as system update configuration like monthly security patch? I'm not big fan of A13 and preferring to stay at A12.
I *think* I understand what you're asking, but not positive.
If you're not rooted, you will definitely be eventually receiving the update no matter what. This is true of all OTAs on most every phone. You can disable automatic updates in Developer options, however even then some updates come through anyway. Others have seen it before, and I've seen it again just recently.
If you're rooted, then you might get an annoying message to update, but the update will always fail to install.
I hope that answers your question.
So, you plan on never updating your Pixel 6 Pro again...ever? (unless you like Android 14 or beyond much better)

Faking Android Update for Work

Hello!
I just got an email from my very large company's IT department saying that I will no longer be able to use my google workplace apps because I my S9 has Android 10 and they no longer compare security patches.
The problem is that I've been waiting until the S23 comes out in January or February. I'm not experienced with flashing rooms etc., but can follow most instructions. Is there a way to put Android 11 (or later) on my phone without losing all my data/settings/apps or somehow fake that I have the update until the new phone comes out? Many thanks in advance.
