Read the whole OP! Be respectful to each other and don't ask for ETAs, it's considered as being rude!
AOSP Extended is an AOSP based ROM which provides stock UI/UX with various customizations features along with the Substratum theme engine. The project has been made by cherry-picking various commits from various other projects. Being based on AOSP it provides a smooth and lag-free experience out of the box. We will constantly try to add more features and make it even better in future updates. A ROM by a user, for a user. #StayAOSP #ExtendYourDevice #BeExtended
#ExtendYourDevice Here are the Extensions! on top of AOSP! We are constantly trying to update the list. Our aim is not to provide all the features available on earth. We are not thinking of cherry-picking every feature out there. Our aim is to add important features that we think should be here and also what you think. For addition of more tweaks or features, head on to our G+ community and post the list of features that you want! Features with commits will be more helpful!

-Base Of the ROM & Version?
->Rom is based on AOSP.
-Why no "Incremental/Delta updates" Support?
->Actually the updates we provide monthly are heavily changed and modified than the previous builds. New stuff is merged and added. So we don't provide incremental updates and recommend a clean flash.
-Does this ROM Support Substratum?
->Yes, full Substratum support!
-Which Gapps are recommended?
->OpenGapps
-Will this ROM relock the bootloader?
->No.
-What about XPOSED?
->XPOSED is still in beta stage. We like Xposed but it messes up with the system so before giving any bug reports make sure you have Xposed uninstalled.
-When Will Be the Next Update?
->No ETAs, please. ROM Will be updated whenever the new build is ready by your maintainer. We generally provide monthly updates with latest security patches and new features.

Personally I use supersu, magisk I had problems with 7.x.x for some time and I have never used it, and the addonsu I think it is for LineageOS, I do not know if it works in this rom, supersu works very well for me

I could make it official, I would only have to change the unofficial one by official, that's the only thing that changes the rom, but I have made it unofficial because I have never contacted Ishubhamsingh the developer of AEX and I do not know if I would agree if I published the rom like official without contacting with the before, Allstargaurav that is the one that I modify the device tree to compile the rom AEX correctly and the device tree that I use to compile the rom, when I publish the previous version in the thread of Demetris contact with me in case I wanted to make it official because he did not have another server to compile it, answer his message but I have not received any response yet, that's why I make it unofficial at the moment

I've flashed the rom a couple of hours ago.
Im trying it with magisk. Not felt nay lag or anything strange. I just use supersu to get root browser and adaway.
For the moment, the rom works perfectly!
Its great to have AEX and OREO
Thanks @Jorge_8 for your work!

Hello guys!
First, congratulations for this amazing ROM to @Jorge_8 and all credited developers...
Right now I'm using AospExtended ROM V5.4 [TITAN] By nithin chandra as a daily driver for 2 months so far,
If want to flash this AEX 5.6.... Do I have to clean flash?
I mean if I make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik) I will lose all apps and data, but I dont want to lose some apps and their data.
Is it posible to keep some apps?
What steps should I do?
it's my first time doing this, so please be patience...

The best thing when you do a new installation and the recommenentable is to completely clean the device, system, data, dalvik, cache ... but if you want to keep some apps and your data you can try, or flashing the rom that you have installed right now , do not make sure it works, or download titanium backup (root), make backup of the applications that interest you, do a complete cleaning, install the rom and once you have the installed rom restore the applications with titanium backup (root)
Make a backup of the rom before flashing the rom without cleaning, if you install it in this way, so if you have any problem restore the backup
Regards!!
Saludos!!

The only thing you have to do is install the latest version of the TWRP recovery for Titan, and do the same cleaning steps that you did when you installed the rom nougat
P.S. If you want the TWRP 3.2.1-0 for titan flasheable by recovery I just posted it on the thread of the rom Resurrection Remix
P.S.2 If you flash it through the same recovery the TWRP, after flashing it reboots again to the recovery to load the new version
Regards!!
Wonderful ROM,great work OP
Getting More than 4 Hours of SOT and No Lag so far I root it with magisk ...?

Hey @Jorge_8, as you probably know I'm on your 5.5 build. Clean flash recommended also? I think it's the best choice isn't it?

Sorry to be intrusive, but I have a theory on this. If the ROM is from the same developer, it probably shares the same device tree, etc... So it's OK to dirty flash it. Only do a dalvik cache cleaning and I believe you'll be good. And always backup your stuff!

Most probably you're right, a dirty flash shouldn't cause any trouble. I've got two reasons to sometimes do a clean flash even if it's the same ROM, dev and device tree. One is that I use a clean flash to set up my device freshly, especially if I were on that ROM for a longer interval, maybe tweaked some things, made some experiments or just wanna get rid of some apps I don't use but towing around because I think I do. That's not the case here, I flashed 5.5 just a few days ago.
Second is if there were any bugs, even small ones you have a (minimal) risk to take them to the new build if you do a dirty flash.
As I'm a real flashaholic I usually have my device up and running as before in about an hour after a clean flash, with the help of Swift Backup (really great alternative to Titanium) maybe faster.
So I agree with you, a dirty flash should be possible without inconveniences but maybe I do a clean one for my peace of mind .

If for me is the best option a complete cleaning when a rom is installed again, what I always do before flashing a rom, is to completely clean everything, including the internal memory, so I assure you that I will not have any problem for remains that can be of other roms installed previously, the only thing that does not clean is the SD card completely, but if I delete the Android folder and LOST.DIR of the SD card
The steps I do are:
1- Swipe to factory reset
2- Format Data = yes
3- Swipe to factory reset again, XD
4- I'm going to Advanced Wipe
Dalvik / ART Cache
Cache
Data
Internal Storage
System
5- Swipe to factory reset again, XD
And then I install the rom, these are the steps I do whenever I install a rom
Regards!!

I've got the feeling you're a fan of the factory reset feature
I clean internal too when I'm coming from another ROM and as I have almost all my data like music, pictures, zips etc on my SD it's not a big deal.

I am new to Z1, but have a lot of experience developing for Xperia ION.
Let me introduce to you my new rom, which is based on Cyanogenmod 11/KitKat 4.4 and DarkCm Projects. The rom was built on October 18 from latest sources.
MAIN AND UNIQUE CHARASTERISTCS:
1. Hardened Kernel with the following features:
a. Selinux disabled (don't trust them) and APPARMOR enabled as main security
b. All crypto core features enabled
c. All authenticated encryption modes enabled - CCM, GCM and SEQIV
d. All blocks enabled - CBC, CTR, CTS, ESB, LRW, PCBC and XTS
e. All hash modes enabled including SHA512 and others
f. All ciphers enabled including CAMELIA, TWOFIS, ANUBIS, SALSA20 and others
g. Compression - DEFLATE, ZLIB and LZO
h. Random number generation all options enabled to result in a better generation without CPU wakeups
2. Newest Sony proprietary blobs (published just several days ago) included
The rom feels fluid and smooth.
By the way, the boot image (kernel + CWM recovery) that is inside the zip file could be used with any CM11 rom, as long as your custom rom does not feature any non standard kernel modules...
CREDIT: Cyanogenmod, AOSP, Slimkat and DarkCM team. Especially big thanks to DarkCM team as most customizations were forked from their repositories
WARNINGS:
I am not responsible for your device becoming a paperweight. I am also not responsible for death and destruction caused by your flashing this rom on your device. You are at your own perill. Complain to Putin - he will surely help.
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Unlocked Bootloader
2. If you have CWM, go to mounts and storage and wipe System/Cache/Data
3. If you have TWRP, go to advanced wipe and wipe System/Cache/Data
4. Flash the rom and reboot.
5. I recommend that you delete Cyanogenmod original animation as it slows down the boot significantly: without it your boot should take about 25 seconds. Once you remove bootanimation.zip in /syste/media, you will have a nice vanilla android bootanimation.
6. Enjoy the rom and hit Thank You or perhaps Donate?
P.S. Rom is in Download Section above

Just look at download page. I haven't put in kernel changes online yet, because unfortunately the regular linux .config file is hidden in multiple files in android and only generated during the build. So, to save time, I tricked the "brunch honami" script by inserting my .config file during build.

You mean you could not restore data with CWM? That's not recommended, as it could lead to instability. You should use Titanium to restore apps, as opposed to restoring the whole data partition with CWM.
starting point: DarkCM v7
backup DarkCM v7 with CWM
then full wipe
Tested Black Argon CM11
wanted DarkCM of backup restore with CWM
SD card not found
DarkCM boot.img flashed
Recognized SD card in CWM
restored DarkCM v7 form Sd card
???

I don't have this problem. There were no changes in cwm, as compared with DarkCM. I can see both cards in CWM. I generally don't like CWM. Will try to get TWRP in next release.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is this Android 7 (Nougat)?
A: Yes, this is Android 7.1.2
Q: What code is Oct-N based on?
A: This version of Oct-N is based on LineageOS 14.1
Q: Why isn't there XYZ feature?
A: Shoot us a Suggestion if you want to see something added. While we are not going to promise to implement, we will always look into it
Q: But all the others have..
A: ROM developers, build something they want to use. The ROM developer that includes something they won't run implies less than 100% effort to ensure it does work. As a team, we have similar goals and objectives. If XYZ ROM has a feature you want, and we don't include (or don't want to include), feel free to use XYZ ROM, or build your own custom version of Oct-N.
Q: What about root?
A: Root is removed by default (user will be able to flash which ever root zip they want)
Bugs:
Bugs happen. Our testers are very good at breaking things, but no where near as good as the rest of the Android public. In order to investigate and fix issues, we need the help of the users who are going to report them. The Android OS has many nifty features to help us in this, but only if we can engage the user to assist us.
Logs, Logcat, and the Android Debugging Bridge (ADB)
Like any other OS, Android has multiple log files that are generated and record the goings-on of the system. As a user, you have two basic ways to view and pull these to send to us. Without the information in the logfiles, there simply is not a whole lot of information to go on.
Log file APKs
Team OctOs recommends SysLog from the Android Market. This application will allow you to selectively pick any (or all) of the system logs, compress them into a .ZIP file, and allow you to save, email, move to your Copy/DropBox/Cloud Storage account, etc.
ADB Logcat
The Android Debugging Bridge (ADB) is a powerful tool available from Google as part of the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). Used for many things, being able to selectively see, in real-time, what your device is doing cannot be downplayed. While there is more setup involved, if you are doing consistent ROM flashing, you really should invest the time to get setup properly to do it.
ADB Logcat tutorial here: How to create a logcat log
Basic Instructions:
Download ROM .zip file and MD5 file, and grab your favourite Open Gapps package http://opengapps.org
Reboot to Recovery (Note: Use Reboot to Recovery from Power Menu, Hardware-based boot to recovery, or adb reboot recovery - ROM Manager or similar software is NOT supported)
--- TWRP is the ONLY recovery Team OctOs uses - We do not support flashing on CWM ---
The Oct-N ROM installation script will automatically wipe /system, /cache, and /dalvik-cache. There is no need to do these before or after flashing the ROM unless you are instructed to by your Gapps Provider. When dirty flashing weekly updates, you MUST reflash Gapps along with any other files, apps, custom mods or kernels etc.. (anything that resides in system partition)
Flash ROM, GApps and any additional .ZIP files
Reboot

Alright, I'm back. Battery seems to run fine, and substratum support is pretty stable. I seem to have the same data issues as I've had on other CM-based ROMs (no data service until reboot sometimes), but this might be an issue I've yet to look into on my part rather than an issue on all the ROMs. Overall, great ROM so far. Enjoying the mix.
Edit: The preinstalled "Clock" application force closes upon launching. I have been using Timely as a replacement. Minor annoyance, but nothing large.

AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see, if your device is build on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them (as long as they are LOS based), but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm for SDK 25.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, your preferred root solution and reboot. Or you might just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. Boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again if you don't want to loose root, and then reboot.
A2. LOS based kernels sometimes come as a flashable ZIP file too. You can flash them together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue, if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, clear Cache & ART/Dalvik cache and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Settings -> Navigation -> Enable navigation bar. The bar can be configured separately in its settings.
Q I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A Check this out, if that doesn't work for you ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just flash Magisk again!
Q I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
3. Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
4. Flash ROM Zipfile
5. Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
6. Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional)
7. Reboot to system
The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!
Supported root solutions:Magisk v13.x
SuperSU - stable and beta available (Site by CCMT that took over the the marketing from chainfire)
SuperSU - direct download link for the latest SuperSU directly from the dev (chainfire)
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version: 14.1 arm or arm64) -> the removal zip is available here too.
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions from AOSP.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

Yes. I clean flashed it on my XT1625 and it works great. Been running for about 14 hours and I am very pleased with it so far. Haven't seen any issues up to this point. Battery life seems decent but need to run it for a few days to get an honest take on that. Smooth and responsive overall.

Flashed the latest this morning. Camera works great, it's early days but not had any issues so far. Great work.
There doesn't seem to be any audio(both ways) when answering an incoming call. Outgoing calls seem to work as they should though.
I would include a log but I can't post links.

Thanks for the response though unfortunately that didn't change anything. Aside from this there doesn't seem to be any other major issues with this ROM, which is pretty good for its age.
Is it possible to wake the screen using the volume rocker? Can't seem to find it in settings.

thank you for the reply, I shall wait for the more stable version comes out
I'm not on realme UI now.
So,if I want to try this ROM ,I should go into twrp and flash the "ColorOS7_Firmware_RMX1901.zip" first ?
then do I need reboot or just Wipe Dalvik,Cache,System,Data and vendor and flash this rom?

I think you must install first RUI (chinese o indian version) than wipe and install the rom with gapps and other if you need it
{Mod edit: Quoted OP removed}
Some of the apps like Messenger and Chrome freezing sometimes. The rest is pretty good.
I can see battery improvement, gaming improvement and it kinda feels nice to use.
Although haven't figured out how to take screenshots yet cause three finger drag or pressing the buttons doesn't seem to work.
Idk why but this is the only custom rom I can use.The rest doesn't boot on my Chinese variant.
So having a new experience was nice.Thank you and everybody else who helped to create it.

Mate you need nothing else.
Just go to TWRP 3.4.0.0
Wipe Cache,Dalvik,Vendor,Data,System
Flash the rom
Factory Reset
That's it

Well it's piece of cake.
Just get the Device ID app, Copy the 15 digit framework code from GSF ID section and paste that code on Google's registry.
There's a tons of tutorial out there for it.
I am using Pico opengapps on this rom and seems to work awesome.

If you can't install another rom is because you don't have the official firmware [10]

Go to wipe - format data - write yes
Do this while flashing every rom
Phone will boot
Why there is no updater after 2020 specially Security Patch..??
