AICP
Android Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as the "Ice Cold Project" that started on a Desire HD years ago (2012) and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, the Rom has always been based on AOKP. Unfortunately, since AOKP stopped development (but made a comeback later), we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
With the rebrand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* We are not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at us for messing up your device, we will laugh at you. Hard & a lot.

FAQ:]
Before using the ROM:
Q. Can I have an ETA for the next build?
A. Yes, just look in the OP to see, if your device is build on a nightly or weekly schedule.
Q. Does this ROM support custom kernels?
A. No. You can still use them (as long as they are LOS based), but discussion should go in the thread of the respective kernel. We don't offer support for bugs you might encounter using them!
Q. Why doesn't this ROM support Xposed?
A. Xposed is a hack that is geared towards AOSP, custom ROM's modify the framework a lot, so Xposed can cause a ton of issues on custom ROM's. Now it might work for you, however it is not to be discussed in this thread, and you should refrain from posting bug reports.
Q. Alright, but I still want to flash Xposed, so which version do I need to install?
A. You will need to use the version arm64/arm for SDK 25.
Flashing the ROM:
Q. What do I need to know before flashing?
A. Check the install instructions in the first post...
Q. Can the builds be dirty flashed over each other?
A. Yes, however make a nandroid first as there is a chance of getting a bootloop or encountering bugs. Also bugs may only be reported on a clean flash.
Q. How do I dirty flash builds?
A. Wipe System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, your preferred root solution and reboot. Or you might just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. Boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again if you don't want to loose root, and then reboot.
A2. LOS based kernels sometimes come as a flashable ZIP file too. You can flash them together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue, if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, clear Cache & ART/Dalvik cache and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
Q. How do I enable software buttons?
A. Settings -> Navigation -> Enable navigation bar. The bar can be configured separately in its settings.
Q I installed a bad theme and now I'm getting a bootloop, how do I fix it?
A In TWRP, flash the substratum rescue zip in the substratum folder on the internal storage.
Q I keep losing root with Magisk, how do I fix it?
A Check this out, if that doesn't work for you ask for help in this thread, read or ask in the Magisk thread on XDA or just flash Magisk again!
Q I'm having issues with WhatsApp, how do I fix it?
A Read this
Q. Do I need to provide a logcat if I'm reporting a bug?
A. If you want it to be fixed faster (or at all) then yes, you should definitely provide a logcat. (Note: Please just link the logcat from your GDrive, Dropbox, etc. and do not post the content here. Thanks.
Q. How do I get a logcat, what type should I get and more questions that can conveniently be answered by my pre-determined answer?
A1. Read this thoroughly. Also, here's a good app for getting logs: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tortel.syslog
A2. If you are already rooted, you can use the built-in feature to make a logcat and provide that. Just look into the root section in the AICP Extras menu.
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Nougat. You don't need to install any Add-Ons, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
If you want the device to run the ROM "rooted", you can flash a root solution of your choice after the ROM Zipfile.
It is STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup as this can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug.
If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience any strange behavior.
How to flash:(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
3. Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache
4. Flash ROM Zipfile
5. Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
6. Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional)
7. Reboot to system
The ROM has GApps persistance in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!
Supported root solutions:Magisk v13.x
SuperSU - stable and beta available (Site by CCMT that took over the the marketing from chainfire)
SuperSU - direct download link for the latest SuperSU directly from the dev (chainfire)
Lineage SU-addon (check your needed version: 14.1 arm or arm64) -> the removal zip is available here too.
KERNEL:
The kernel in this ROM follows LAOS source with custom additions from AOSP.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

Yes. I clean flashed it on my XT1625 and it works great. Been running for about 14 hours and I am very pleased with it so far. Haven't seen any issues up to this point. Battery life seems decent but need to run it for a few days to get an honest take on that. Smooth and responsive overall.

Information for Reliance Jio Users on how to activate VoLTE. Follow instructions to the T. Thank you ==vj== for the instructions.
Make sure you are on the latest baseband M8952_70009.08.03.48R.
Jio SIM should be in slot1.
Complete the setup wizard normally after flashing ROM & GAPPS ( flash arm-6-pico if using opengapps ).
On CM and Vanir, APN is set to jionet by default. If its not, goto Settings->SIM Cards->SIM1 Settings->Access Point Names and change as follows. Name=jionet, APN=jionet, APN Type=default, APN Protocol=IPv4/IPv6. Click here for screenshots.
Goto "SIM CARD" settings and select calling sim as JIO. This can also be done during setup.
Select sim1 settings (JIO) & toggle enhanced LTE option enabled. This is required to activate the volte option in dialer. If enhanced VoLTE option doesn't show up, goto APN settings and select Bearer as LTE alone. Then manually select Jio4g from mobile networks. That should enable enhanced LTE option for sure.

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.
How is this different from this thread?
Well it isn't, apart from the fact that I get to update the OP with latest details of my builds. This was also requested by many users as the old thread hasn't been updated in a while and I have received many pm's regarding this. If this is against the rules, mods are free to close the thread at any time.

If U Are Thinking About This Phone, Then No Planning Is Needed. I Think Its Best In Its Class, Brand, Software, Hardware, Camera, And A Lot Many Things.
Now, On Stock As U Know Everything Is Working
On CM Based Or AOSP, Everything Is Working, Yes The Chop Chop Is Somewhat Called Buggy And The Camera In WhatsApp Or Other Third Party Apps Seems To Be Not Synced With Flash Correctly But It Was A Bug Few Weeks Ago, I Think It Has Been Solved Until Now.
VoLTE Was A Major Problem Few Days Ago But As We Know The Devs And Users Were Restless, So This Was Also Solved.
Battery Life With Features On RR Is Best As Per My Experience And Quark Kernel Is Also The Best CM Kernel As U Can't Use Wi-Fi On Elemental X When Flashed On CM Based ROMs.
Most Featured ROM - RR (Credits To @Shreps)
Most Stable ROM - Beanstalk (As Per User Reviews) (C.T. @rahulsnair)
Most Battery Life ROM - CrDroid > CM > RR
Most Clean ROM - CM (By @Silesh.Nair)
Thanks If U Understood And Sorry If U Didn't.
Thanks for the update @Silesh.Nair! I'll be switching back to CyanogenMod again (though Vanir wasn't bad also!)

If I buy this, I will sure look why WiFi is not working on Elemental X.
I'm buying this because of it has 3.10.xxx kernel which is supported till October 2017.
I have read the other thread and I have got this -
* Audio playback
* SELinux
* Laser Auto Focus(LAF)
So, the above things still don't work? I certainly need SELinux status 'Enforcing'.
And what's Chop Chop?
Thanks.

There is no what's working section in the OP. One last thing to confirm, SELinux status and LAF(buggy or working or broken)?
Also, in OP you said the ROM uses 3.4.xxx kernel but in configuration file it's 3.10.xxx

As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
For Device specific changelogs, check the second post.
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) and cache will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_gemini_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the firmware package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, after you've let it settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes, do not do anything else! Please let your device settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes after the first boot, otherwise the system wont boot after a reboot!
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM! Meaning, do not flash anything like Gapps, a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

Fingerprint works better than any other rom.

Also latest open nano. Did you set up the rom, before flashing gapps?

With the re-brand of CM to LineageOS (LAOS) we are now actually LAOS based with some tweaks from AOSP.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them out or the LAOS team will if it concerns their code base. This rom isn't LAOS supported, so no need to report errors/bugs to them!!
Code:
#include <std_disclaimer.h>
/*

General Oreo bugs.

A. Xposed is not yet available for Oreo.
A. Wipe the System, Cache and ART/Dalvik cache. Flash the ROM, Gapps (only needed if you wipe the system), your preferred root solution and reboot. Or you might just use the OTA app to preform that task for you.
Q. How do I flash kernel builds?
A1. If it's a .img file boot into TWRP and go to the install page in TWRP, in the bottom right corner select "install image", select the desired kernel, then select "boot", then swipe to flash, then go back to the install screen and install your root method again if you don't want to loose root, and then reboot.
A2. if it's a flashable ZIP You can flash it together with a ROM update or separately. Go to the install page in TWRP, choose the kernel zip (or add it to the flash queue right after the ROM zip). Then add your root method to the queue if you don't want to loose root. Now swipe to flash, and then reboot.
Using the ROM:
The ROM should contain everything you need to enjoy Android Oreo. You don't need to install any Add-on's, simply download the latest ROM, GApps, flash it and go!
How to flash:
(Again: Don't do it if you don't know it!)
1. Download the ROM and GApps and transfer them to your device
2. Boot to recovery (TWRP recommended)
3. Wipe system, Cache, data and ART/Dalvik cache/Format Data
4. Flash ROM Zipfile
5. Flash/Install GApps (optional, needed for e.g. Google Playstore to work)
6. Flash/Install the root solution of choice (optional)
7. Reboot to system
The ROM has GApps persistence in between dirty flashes, so you only have to flash them once!
The root solution should be flashed together with every OTA update (= ROM Update)!
Supported Root Solutions:
Magisk v14.0
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash using the buildin OTA app that needs TWRP recovery installed to work.
You can still use LAOS recovery and OTA app, but you will need to download the zip file and flash it manually from within your recovery. Zip gets saved in the "AICP_ota" folder on your internal storage.
Please be sure that you are on the latest TWRP recovery.

Thanks for this. It boots really quickly which is great and seems really snappy. The camera doesn't work though which is odd as it works fine in LOS 15.1

Flashed the latest this morning. Camera works great, it's early days but not had any issues so far. Great work.
There doesn't seem to be any audio(both ways) when answering an incoming call. Outgoing calls seem to work as they should though.
I would include a log but I can't post links.

Thanks for the response though unfortunately that didn't change anything. Aside from this there doesn't seem to be any other major issues with this ROM, which is pretty good for its age.
Is it possible to wake the screen using the volume rocker? Can't seem to find it in settings.

yes, if you just want to boot twrp and flash rom zip that would work. if you need twrp installed so you dont have to boot into twrp using a computer every time then you need to flash twrp zip after every rom flash.
if you follow official twrp flashing instructions you will understand what I am trying to say.

Oh okay, and by the way, how did u backup and restore your apps from previous rom in this new a12 evox?
Also what recovery do you use? I haven't touched many roms for awhile. Do I need to format data before and/or after installing?
I'm kinda confused here.

You can backup your apps using an app like Swift Backup, however do note that you need to be rooted so as to grant it SU permission. Use OrangeFox recovery latest official, it works great! You might not need to format data if you want to use the ROM in decrypted form. Just have to flash DFE once before booting.
This is how it usually works, nonetheless do check with the maintainer once.
Thanks

Okay, thanks for the heads up. Oh, I'm a root user so I'll flash magisk afterwards anyway.
Is swift backup able to backup all apps and working properly after restored? And which orangefox is recommended? I see there are 4.4 and 4.14 ones.
So, just flash DFE after the ROM without formatting data will work?
I'm really really confused about all this FBE n decryption things. Last time i checked it was SAR and non SAR ROMs. Now on most ROMs (like arrow, pe and previous a11 evox etc), they got encryption by default, which is really not my cup of tea. SO I'd rather stay decrypted after doing some reading.

Use 4.4 version of OrFox, it supports both.
Also if we can connect on Telegram, I can share the DFE file to you in case you haven't found it yet. Basically it allows you to use an FBE ROM without the encryption.
