The main features and enhancements that you will probably end up noticing are our custom Quick Settings tile reordering functionality, floating window support, immersive mode, the new on-the-spot interface and CM Theme Engine. There's much more to come, so sit tight!

As we're getting back into the thread game, keeping up with threads and updating them as per changelogs can be too hectic given our schedule. However, very detailed changelogs always go up on our Google+ page, follow us for constant updates!
For Device specific changelogs, check the second post.
Instructions & requirements
We highly recommend you to follow these instructions very carefully. Users usually tend to skip a few steps and eventually fall in trouble. Are you with me? Good. Let's get this train going.
Just a few things to keep in mind first -
If you're coming from another ROM / Stock, your system data (not internal storage) and cache will have to be wiped. This includes apps, accounts, messages, call logs etc.
There's been some users complaining about different GAPPS variants messing up installs and causing a ton of issues. Upon investigating it seems OpenGapps Mini/Nano work best.
Understand that Paranoid Android is a custom ROM and it might lead to addiction as it's relatively good. We shouldn't be accused of anything just incase your cat starts drinking wine. Things get a little woozy in the Paranoid World.
Some brain might be involved if things go wrong. Not a lot though, as much to solve what's 1+1.
Okay let's get to the main bit -
Once you have all the required files - boot into recovery and wipe the bananas out of your device. Get into the wipe menu and wipe data, system, cache and dalvik cache (basically everything except Internal Storage).
Once wiped, get into the "Install from zip" menu and select the ROM zip. (pa_gemini_6.x...). Once added to the install queue, TWRP will ask you if you want to add more zips into the queue - Click on "add more zips" and select the firmware package.
Swipe the bar on the bottom to flash/install zips. Once both zips are done installing - Reboot into system and set-up your device, after you've let it settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes, do not do anything else! Please let your device settle with screen off for about 10 Minutes after the first boot, otherwise the system wont boot after a reboot!
Once you're done setting up your device - well that's when you're done. One thing though - Make sure you DO NOT INSTALL any other zip in the same queue as the ROM! Meaning, do not flash anything like Gapps, a kernel or a root package while installing the ROM. We recommend you do that AFTER you're done setting up your device.

Exposed works very well.

Welcome back guys,
I do have a question, is there any chance you guys have also given some magic to the camera? Because I thought you guys are affiliated with oneplus, maybe having access to the good stuff ^.^?
Don't currently have the time to reinstall my phone, so can't test it myself.
Kind regards,
domistroy
6.0.1 is a great update to 6.0, lots of issues ironed out that were plaguing the initial release, congrats and thank you!
I just think that the in-call volume could get a bit more love, I remember it being far louder on the previous ROM I used daily, Sultan's CM13. It is still too low and some static noise can be heard in the background while talking to someone.

I don't use themes to be honest, always tend to run Android the way Google meant for it to look and feel.
Maybe you should try reinstalling the theme itself and try again how it goes.

In that case I don't know really, mine is working just fine, no force closes even when I open the Themes app. The only difference from my setup and yours is that I'm always using OpenGapps, but yet again, don't know how would that impact the theme engine...
You probably have something else installed that might be causing it.
What camera blobs that this rom using??
Hopefully otg usb will work soon!
Thanks for the awesome rom!
Awesome you guys are back i haved always loved to switch roms from PA to CM back and forth because both roms are amazing and now i get to have pa mm on my opo The new boot animation is killer too
For those FCs with Themes and Themes Provider, please clear the apps data and reboot. It's in the G+ pages but probably needs a FAQ here too.
FWIW not all themes work, even with CMTE. I'm guessing some work is needed either in the TE side or by the theme's Developer

Hard to say for certain. The updater-script requires /system to be EXT4 though.

This is SlimROM 7 for the Exynos3470 based Samsung Galaxy S5 mini (G800F/G800M/G800Y)
SlimRoms is a custom android operating system. Our main goal is to offer users a slimmed down yet feature rich alternative to other android operating systems.
The entire SlimTeam work together to bring you this tailor-made beauty straight from Android Open Source Project (AOSP) source code.
All of the sources can be publicly viewed through GitHub and you can stop by our public Gerrit to submit patches of any type.
Known Issues
- Camera problems per usual. (I may remove the stock cam next build)
- Let me know and I'll try to fix.
Notes
- TWRP and backups - While TWRP 3.0 will work fine on backups between 7.x ROMS if you are running 7.x and try to restore to a 6.x ROM it will fail to restore the data partition. If you have the need to do this you MUST use TWRP 2.8! (Thanks to Sunn76 for that info)
- No integrated root - use Magisk
I highly recommend a full backup before flashing this ROM.Again,I am not responsible if you lose any or all of your data!

Downloading, I wish youtube problem at 720p is resolved
Edit #1: The zoom in youtube videos continues, the "solution" I found is to see the video to the desired quality and when the error occurs, press the home button, open the multitasking and return to the video, this corrects the problem, in some Cases zoom back
PS: I speak Spanish, so I used the google translator

Thanks a lot for your great ROMs! I'll try this one right away because I always considered slim to be one of the smoothest, fastest ROMs out there. The only reason I didn't use it, is because there wasn't a Nougat version, but now there is! Thank you so much!
EDIT: After a few minutes of testing, I've found a few minor bugs. One of them is quite annoying, the other two can be ignored in my opinion.
1. When enabling and disabling the navigation bar multiple times in a row very quickly, SystemUI crashes. It happened by accident, but it was quite weird. (however it doesn't really matter because 'normal' people would never experience this)
2. When opening additional settings in the settings menu, SlimSettings crashes.
3. I'm not really sure if this is a bug, or if this is intentional, but the battery percentage in the status bar has changed into a tilde. So instead of 4%, the status bar now says 4~, which seems strange.

Yes, the home button doesn't wake the device. I don't really think this is a bug. I personally do not like it. Although I know some will. It should be a fairly easy fix for the next build.

I tried installing the viper4android, but it asks me to install the drivers always, even with the nougat fix, I'm not sure that it could be failing, maybe another sound mod will work, with the ums enabler (mass storage) asks me to change the kernel to permissive , Which seems strange to me because the default comes like this, maybe that's why I can not install the viper4android
#edit 1:
I have a question, the next updates have OTA support or will it be necessary to flash manually?

I haven't messed with Viper4Android on any nougat ROMS, so I can't really help there, sorry. At some point I will though.
I may look into implementing OTA for this ROM. I'm not sure at this point. It just depends on a few things. Either way, for sure the next update will need to be manually flashed.

I'm very happy to see a slim Version of Nougat for the g800f. I'll just have to wait till wake up via home button is working. This is a must for me.

Make sure you go to terminal and type: getenforce
If it said enforcing you have to type: setenforce 0
Then check with getenforce again and see if it says permissive now.

The battery percentage is a normal percentage again now. Maybe that's because I rebooted my phone yesterday but it seems to work now!

Is there a way to turn off button illumination in Slim7 without installing a night mode app? In my opinion night mode apps have some disadvantages so I'd prefer a different way.

About the battery percentage 'bug': The status bar only shows a tilde (~) when the device is charging!

Slim7 is the project name for SlimRoms based on Android 7.1.x Nougat, which offers the following original features:
-Slim Navbar & Hardware key rebinding
--Single tap action, long press action, double tap action! - We’ve got you covered.
-Slim Actions & Chamber of secrets
-- Customise your device to the fullest - You’re a wizard!
-SlimRecents
--A faster alternative to stock recents - Your device, your choice.
-SlimLauncher
--An open source, feature filled launcher! - Make yourself at home
-Status bar customisations
--Clock and date? Battery? - More fun than you can shake a stick at.
Important links:
https://slimroms.org/ - Official website with anything SlimRoms related
Installation steps:
-You MUST unlock your device's bootloader in order to install Slim; I won't cover this area, however you can look it up here in the forums or ask me anything about it.
- Install the latest TWRP
- Download the latest build, gapps (optional). Place on internal storage or an sdcard.
- Reboot into recovery mode
- Wipe --> Advanced wipe --> data, cache, dalvik, and system. This is a clean flash, therefore you will lose your apps and their data; (sd and storage are not mandatory to wipe, so anything in there's going to be fine if you don't do it) remember to back those things up if you want to keep them.
- Install the build, the gapps and the root zip if you're going to root.
- Done! Reboot and enjoy. Remember the first boot always takes a few minutes.

Just installed Gravitybox and tested myself, looks like the same issues here. A reboot after applying some different settings didn't work, the only thing that seemed to work was brightness control under status bar. I'm compiling a personal build of Slim for my G4 Play and when it's done I'll try there too to see if it's an issue with the ROM sources itself or if it's phone-specific.

Gravitybox does say custom rom use is hit or miss so it's not surprising. I know slim is missing a few features so using gravitybox is desired, but still not surprised.

Like many similar modules GB works best on close AOSP clones. That said, it works fairly well on most ROMs excluding areas of direct overlap like navbar, quick settings and status bar tweaks. I ran Slim on a different device and don't recall significant issues with GB compatibility. But that was awhile ago; things may have changed.
Thank you for the ROM. So far working great!

I really appreciate it, thank you. I'm currently starting development of a kernel, but I plan on releasing a new update to Slim in a few days in case they update sources to the February security patch, and I want to include a messaging app and some kind of browser right out of the box, that way it's a bit more convenient when first setting it up. Someone also found a way to get LTE working for CDMA, only tested on Sprint currently, but we're going to be working further with that to try and incorporate at least part of the fix, I'm going to see if they can get a guide up on here for everyone for the rest of it

New update in OP. Nothing major, just a few upstream source changes. I personally like ROMs to be updated until the source stops updating, so expect a crDroid update soon too. Dot no longer is updating their Nougat branch (To my knowledge) so I don't think there will be an update for that, but I'll check regardless. In a few weeks I'll (hopefully) be releasing a custom Kernel I'm working on too if all goes as planned!

Thanks for the great work
I can't wait to flash this and try it out!
Does anyone have any information about the battery life on DU compared to stock or another rom?
Also, is it rooted by default?
Thanks for bringing this rom to the Pixel 3a!

Battery life is subjective and depends on too many variables. That being said, battery life on DU is leat least quivalent, but should be better than stock.

Hey thanks.
When I fastboot flash the boot.img, can I just initially use the magisk-patched version you've provided in your files there, in lieu of the plain boot.img? Would that save me some effort of setting up magisk afterwards, and I could boot into an already-rooted ROM?

For the first flash / clean flash, don't use the Magisk patched boot image. Let the device boot up once after the sideload. You can reboot before running the setup and flash the Magisk patched boot image and then continue the setup. And you'll have to install MagiskManager after the device setup. It will ask you to reboot once.
For updates / dirty flash, you can sideload the ROM, reboot to bootloader and flash the Magisk patched boot image and then reboot to retain Magisk
This may be a very dumb question, but in terms of raw code, what is the difference between a rom for the Pixel 3a / Pixel 3a XL? Except the screen and the battery, the devices do not differ...wouldn't the DU Pixel 3a XL rom work as well?
Thanks for the rom - downloading it right now
Edit: I seem to have an issue with the first time wizard - it finds my wifi, but is somehow stuck. I've skipped it, but can't restore anything from my google backups...
ROM seems to be running quite good however

The devices are nearly identical, and ROMs are likely mostly cross-compatible, but there are subtle differences like some of the configs... Screen and power to name a few.
The setup wizard works fine on both WiFi and mobile data. But I also don't know what you mean by "stuck". Does it connect to your WiFi networks? Have you tried it with your mobile data?
It just stays at the initial "Checking for Updates...". Yes, both LTE and WiFi are connected and i've tried it with both. I can just skip all of it and have been able to restore a backup afterwards
I have to say, it's a pretty amazing rom...i've got roughly 7 hours of SoT, a ton of standby, reception is good (i wish it would stay a bit longer on LTE, before switching over to Edge)

On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.
Notice
As we are growing on our list of supported devices in each release, we require of a stronger build environment so we can speed up the compilation process for releases. Based on the actual Quartz 4 list, we support over 30 devices, which takes between 2 and 3 days for all the builds to be completed without counting possible compilation issues or rebuild needs, based on our current specs.
We kindly ask all of you that are in position to donate anything, to help and support us so we can provide better and faster build releases, as well as increase the download speed of our servers, all looking for your enjoyment.

when i flash a new rom if i end up in a bootloop and get that encryption bug. What I do is pick the 3rd option that completely wipes your system (with everything backed up to my sd card) then try installing the rom. when you finish flashing it reboot back into recovery again and flash it again. also make sure pretty much everything but cache/dalvik and data and not mounted.
took me a bit of trial and error and I have no clue why but ive been flashing roms this way without fail since i installed pbrb3 recovery. Aospa, RR, evolution and another one that i found on androidfilehost lol.
ooof randomly reboots while using.

are you sure? what were you doing when it rebooted? did you install any mods? you should post a logcat. I've pretty much been using it all day witout a single reboot (other then to install viper)

Im on pbrp and installed it and ended in fastboot loop. Had to flash global rom and twrp to install it properly. Also the cam on this rom is camera go 2.
