[Q] When sideloading app, can't select the install button - SOLVED

Hi,
Hopefully I am not missing something too obvious but I am running the stock ROM, rooted, 4.3. I have enabled 'Unknown Sources' in the security settings. I have tried updating the Amazon App Store, updating an Xposed module and installing an app on my SD card. Each time I get to the screen showing the permissions and to Cancel or Install. I can click Cancel but when clicking Install nothing happens - it doesn't select. It just stays on the same screen. It isn't grayed out or anything just won't let me select it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Open GOOGLE Settings > Verify Apps and make sure its unchecked.
Also try Settings > General > Security and see if the Verify Apps is checked. If it is then uncheck it.

Thanks for your help. Both of these are already unchecked. I unchecked them in my troubleshooting. Any other ideas?

Here is an image. If I touch the Cancel button it turns orange and will activate if clicked and cancel it. If I touch Install it does not turn orange and does nothing:

Do you have the app you want to install on your SD card? After updating to 4.3, I can no longer sideload apps from the SD card. I have to copy it over to the onboard memory and then install. Might want to give that a shot.

Thanks Blazinazn. I tried moving it to internal storage but it still didn't work.
Double0EK, I don't get the first popup box it goes directly to the second image. I can't press that Install button as I mentioned earlier. You gave me an idea and I unchecked 'Package Installer' as the default but I still don't get the pop up. I also tried installing apk's using ES File Explorer and I get a toast message that 'Install Failed'.

Try clearing data and cache for the 'Package Installer' app.

BAM! Cleared the cache and I can now install these apps not on Google Play. Thank you so much for your assistance!

[Q] purchased apps disappeared?!

So i'm runnbing the march 28th cm11 nightly, and a few days ago, I noticed two of my most used applications (also, the only applications I've bought on google play) strangely disappeared from my home screen; I went to the app drawer to put them back, and they were not there either. So I open google play to reinstall them--only it says they ARE installed. Trying to open them from google play results in an instant FC. So from google play, I uninstalled and reinstalled--same results. Going into settings --> Apps, both applications show up, but in place of their regular icons are generic android icons suggesting the apps are on my SD card...

I had the exact same problem and had to go back to the 0326 build. I asked the very same question on the CM thread and somebody suggested that a clean flash should take care of the problem (though, to be honest, I've yet to try).

Just tried flashing the 0331 update clean and downloaded one of my paid apps. I'm still having the same problem. Going back to 0326.

Sideloaded Kodi but wont launch

Hi Peeps,
Being the proud new owner of an AFTV, I decided to install Kodi on my shiny new device.
now I manage to sideload kodi 15.1, adbfire shows success...!!!
When I launch kodi, I am even getting the splashcreen saying "preparing for first run please wait...."

**BUMP**

Bumping is a no no on xda, especially on a day old thread.

Check how much storage space is available on your device. This is a common occurrence if the device's storage is full. You may need to delete the thumbnail folders in Kodi and/or the temp files (if you're using zero cache).

I have the same problem, its there when i try to launch application but just screen flicks and returns to the launch screen again. Also happens with tvmc even tried loading them on with agkfire from android tablet aswell as abdfire. Im totally stuck and cant find anything on the net to solve it. Fire box as new yesterday and has 4.7gb free space. How do I delete the thumbnail folders/temp files? Any help appreciated!

insufficient storage

After update to android 11 on s20 ultra everytime i boot the phone i get the message "insufficient storage!". I dont know why i get this, i have a lot of space available

For anyone with similar problem, if you are on android 11, turn you phone off, plug usb cable to phone and pc, press power + up until recovery mode, wipe cache and reboot

Update: The message appeared again, i checked all my cloud accounts (one drive, google drive, etc) and my one drive account was full. I cleaned it up, reboot the phone and the message disappeared

My problem was solve when i move one major app like tiktok to phone storage to sd card, since this the message no appear again.

[Q] Best approach with FireTV Stick 2 (Tank)

Hello.
I've never been up to date with modifications of all the FireTV Sticks, but recently found here some threads and bad things that OS updates bring/block and I'd like to ask for advice.
My device is as on the screenshot, OS version 5.2.8.4 and with an information in settings, that the update has been downloaded and to be installed when device idle. I disconnected it from power source and seek what are my options and what You'd do to make the best out of this Stick.

Would this LeanBack and TVLaunchX work or should I go for WolfLanucher/LauncherManager?
1. I'd like to install a launcher (Wolf?) to speed things up. Is this possible with this OS or should I downgrade?
2. can I still disable OTA updates and stay on this OS version, or should I downgrade?

6. doesn't matter if FAT32 or NTFS, can I somehow share this HDD connected to FireTV via my Wi-Fi, to upload media from my PC to that hard disk?

6. Usefull info here. Running samba share only on rooted ROM as it requieres blocked ports. Migrating files should be easy with a FTP server that can be easly started with EsFileExplorer

The file size limit of 4GB really bothers me with FAT32. I'll look for other solution but I'm against running my PC as a server. Will look if my router can handle file sharing
