Can't go back to stock because of failed update check. - Honor 7X Questions & Answers

I tried out some project treble rooms and I've been trying to revert back to stock EMUI8 with the update files. As the title said after flashing the update file I get a red exclamation mark with update check failed. I can't factory reset the phone either, it shows the same symbol. I've tried flashing twrp and formatting and updating again but the same issue remains

Bootloops After ODIN back to Stock Firmware

Hi guys,
I have the t-mobile s6 edge
After messing around with my device last night and this morning, I decided to go back to stock for a bit.
I have ODIN 3.10.6. I went into download mode on my phone. extracted the stock firmware from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/sm-g925f-s6-firmware-thread-t3078841
loaded the "G925TUVU1AOCG_G925TTMB1AOCG_G925TUVU1AOCG_HOME.tar.md5" file into the ap box for odin
connected my phone to computer, odin recognized it. hit start. ran successfully. rebooted, android guy came up briefly and said installing system update, then it changed to "Erasing..." then it rebooted again
now it's just bootloops forever after the tmobile screen. I can boot to recovery and it says installing system update each time I boot to recovery, but selecting reboot system there shows a no command error. force the phone to power off... power on again to bootloops.
tried to go into download mode again and reflash everything through odin, same issue!
I started last night by rooting using chainfire, then installing TWRPv2, then I flashed the 5.1.1 ROM available from @eousphoros (sorry for the tag, just thought you might want to be apprised of the issues in getting back to stock after using the 5.1.1 ROM).
with 5.1.1 loaded, smart switch didn't recognize the phone for a reset so I decided to go with the ODIN method and now i'm in bootloop city
any help would be greatly appreciated

You probably need to do a factory reset
In the future you should make a full backup before installing a rom

AHH!! Sorry to have made this post... here's what I did to get it actually boot:
reflahed the stock firmware through odin again, tried to reboot, it failed, obviously. rebooted to recovery, factory reset in recovery, power down option in recovery, then turned the phone on again and it magically worked!
hopefully this post will help someone who encountered the same issue

I had the same excat same thing happen when flashing this via Odin. I didnt need to Odin stock twice though . I just booted stock recovery and did a factory reset. After that I went ahead an powered down and rebooted . All good now
How long did you have to wait in the stock recovery to get past the "installing system update" screen? Mine just sits there and I'm unable to view other options in recovery.
EDIT for noobs (like me): wait 30 seconds on the "installing system update" screen.
I'm still stuck in boot loop

Looks here, may apply to your case. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63226466
Pp.
I initially used odin to flash OI1 update, after a rom I was using caused problems and I got bootloop. It changed bootloader value to b:3 and I'm unable to downgrade now so I used smart switch which didn't recognize device so used emergency recovery and still bootloop. I have factory reset and wipe cache multiple times along with adb side load and individual flashes of bootloader, modem, kernel, flashed custom kernel and twrp to access fix permissions and to mount partitions with advanced wipe etc and still wont boot past logo. Also during one fix attempt phone said can't mount system.. Idk I'm not understanding where the problem is .everything says successful but I'm still in bootloop. Please help. I've spent hours everyday for the past week searching & trying different things that seem might help so open to any suggestions.
Problem with Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9195

I'm new to the whole ROM flashing and using Odin. I had a bootloop problem and recovery mode showed all the options but has a green android man laying down with red icon above him and No Command below the android man. Tried the factory wipe and cache wipe but it gives some red writing with the word failed in the coding and the word error under the android man. Tried to flash a stock ROM from sammobile using Odin. Odin gives a pass but the same problems persist. Can someone please help?

Help needed. Updated from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 and encountered problems

Hi all,
I had my gs6 rooted with 5.1.1, but recently something went wrong all the apps were crashing and sometimes the phone would reboot on its own. So I decided to upgrade firmware to 6.0.1. I downloaded the firmware G920PVPS4CPI3, and flashed with odin. It has been a while since I deal with this process so I may have missed something. First time it didn't work, a dead android with an exclamation point in a triangle appeared, then I got stuck in the Android Recovery. After a few tries, somehow it rebooted normally to the stock 6.0.1 firmware but the apps were crashing as well, got the random reboots, and couldn't make or receive phone calls. So I tried again, and got stuck... again... in Recovery (it says at the bottom dm-verity verification failed...). I can't get it to start normally. I tried wiping cache partition and data/factory reset... nothing. Please help.
Thanks!!
You may have had a bad download of the firmware. Use the version from my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
Check the MD5 of the download (I have a link to a free MD5 checker program included in the Original Post) against what shows on the Android File Host page.
Then try Odin again. Let us know what happens.

Hi, I tried the firmware on the link you provided and flashed through Odin 3.10.6, and now I'm stuck in recovery. I rebooted and the dead android with the yellow triangle appeared and went back to recovery. Same thing happens when I try to power off in recovery, it said Verifying DM Verity Hash Tree then after a while I think I saw a message saying dm verity verification failed but it disappeared quickly.. I did the wipe cache partition and data/factory reset and again didn't work. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Let the power drain completely until it shuts off. The charge it and try again and see if it loads. If you get stuck in Recovery again, try rebooting from there.
That is the stock TAR file, which should take you back to new phone status. If that doesn't work, you might have a hardware issue.

Hi,
I was able to do it by draining the battery, now I have 6.0.1. But I have a couple of issues...
1. Some apps stop working or they crash randomly... some of them don't even let me open them so I have to reboot. I tried deleting cache in recovery, didn't work.
2. When restarting in recovery, I got the message dm-verity verification failed.
3. When I download the OTA update and start the installation, it reboots and after a couple of seconds then the dead andriod with the triangle, and reboots... so it doesn't let me update.
Any suggestions?

Note 4 Rooted and Now Bootloader

Okay so I am sort of a Nob, I rooted my phone, my SM-N910P. I was attempting to put a customized firmware in and it turned off went to restart and then stopped. It now won't get past the Sprint Logo and that is after about half an hour.
I have tried to factory reset with no avail, I have tried to clean partitions and still nothing.
I have tried to use several different firmware all come up with some error. The most recent error I am getting is " sw rev check fail fused 4 binary 1 "
Please any help would be great. Also this phone has a bad ESN / Black listed I was only using it for lack of better thoughts is a tablet.
Please Help...
Maybe what you flashed wasn't compatible and cannot boot.
Without knowing what stock update you started with and what you flashed in recovery, hard to say.
But since a factory reset won't boot, you likely need to Odin the stock tar and start over. But try something else first; IIRC, that binary issue may be caused by mounting system (maybe you wiped system?) and not unmounting prior to flash. Also, if you checked an option to verify zip, you should uncheck that. It's possible that it won't boot cause you've wiped system and failed to flash a ROM successfully.
Try this: If you wipe system, either reboot recovery before flashing or unmount system. Newer security requires system unmounted.

Moto z2 force t-mo update failed

Hi, I was rooted Magisk and twrp installed, I kept getting a notification of an update but just kept ignoring it. About the same time my phone started dropping signal all the time so I thought it might have something to do with the update. I went back to full stock 27.1 . When I try to get the update it downloads it and when it gets ready to install it says working in the background it shows a progress bar for a sec then pops up a screen telling me that something went wrong and update failed and nothing was changed and i just click ok. I get no type of error messages or any thing explaining what the problem is. As of right im not rooted or any custom rom or recovery installed just bootloader unlocked, SO what did I do wrong and how do I fix it???
When you say you went back to stock, do you mean you factory reset or you went as far as doing the flash-all?

I too did a flash all after installing the OTA, now I can't install the OTA anymore.

T-mobile OTA update g960usqs2arf4 fails

I have T-Mobile Galaxy S9, not rooted. Recent OTA update g960usqs2arf4 fails to install. It boots into the flashing screen with android logo, the progress bar gets to 30% and then it says "Error". I tried wiping cache partition but it did not solve the problem. I really want to avoid factory reset ... Maybe I can install it via PC?
Still stuck at this. It attempts to update roughly once a week and always fails and sends report to Samsung. Any suggestions?
