Hello.
I have had my One X since its release and have had no problem with it. But now all of the sudden the homescreen has started loading all the time.
At one point today it loaded every singel time I backed out of the browser with the home button. Is there any fix to this other than a factory reset and hoping for the best?
thanks!
Did u change any seting in developer options? Namely the "dont keep activities". If so, uncheck it.
Developer options, don't keep activities.
Tick it, back out, go back, untick it. Job done.
thanks for your suggestions, but it did not solve the problem...

A simple restart of your phone should fix it.

Try check your RAM usage. If the RAM usage high this might be the problem.
Cause i had this problem also. I remove some games that use high volume of RAM and reset the phone. And the problem solve...
if you have rooted your phone try going to cwm and go to advance and fix permissions....
For some reason im constantly using over 800mb of ram, but nothing is using anywhere close to that... No root, and I would really love to not have to do a factory reset, tried removing some games and stuff now. But if it dosent help, its factory reset next
that worked

That seems to have worked for me, at least for the time being. Thanks. Now I just need Root and a tasty rom.
This worked for me! Cache may be the issue.
Download and install Android Assistant. Go to tools/cache cleaner/ and clear the cache. Then click the monitor tab and click the quick boost button. Bingo, problem solved for me at least and for a while I guess that's is until the cache gets full again. Good luck.
It worked for me

Thanks. IT worked for me. I unchecked "dont keep activities" and now my home screen is back to normal.
I have exactly the same issue. My RAM gets full and it keeps restarting apps. When I push the home button it looks like home screen restarts and needs to load again. Verry annoying! Tried the developper setting thingy now. Did already a factory reset but the problem was there again after a week or so.
Is this necessary?
If it is, I will do it, but really don't want to if it's not!

I didn't do it. In fact, I've never done it on any device. And mine is running beautifully. Then again if I've never done it I suppose I can't compare.
But, talk about inconvenient! Every time there's an update you're gonna wipe your tablet and all of your data? Then sit there and reapply all your settings, configurations, files and apps? Imagine having to reformat you PC every time there was a Windows update...
I think if people see an improvement after doing so, it isn't because this tactic does anything special. But because you've wiped your system and started fresh again, of course you'll see an improvement. Update or no update.
I say if you're experiencing issues, it's worth doing to possibly remedy the problem(s).

Yes!! After a reset, its like day and night! reset is the key along with killing some of the Samsung apps, s voice home button, and turning off all 3 animations from developer options.

What exactly does every update do to require a factory reset?

Updates do not require factory resets. The OP was just mentioning that he reset after the update and his system runs great.
The truth is that all your hard work setting up your device is gone and you must do it all over again.

Exactly my point. The system runs great not because the update did anything to slow it down, but because he did a system restore. The update had no effect, good or bad.

Well now the update can improve performance in itself, but not always as some are just security updates.

I meant the sole fact that you're updating won't effect the performance. This entire thread has been about doing a factory reset because of an update, as if an update regardless of what it's for will someone hurt your performance.
I don't know if anyone else is facing this issue but after update, apps close expectedly and it is very very irritating since important data is also lost in some instances. I have reset and cleared cache but nothing has improved.

Edit - Don't use any themes downloaded from Playstore or anywhere else. Just use the themes that came with the phone and see if there are any crashes or restarts?

Make sure you have not applied any theme.
Also turn off the option to automatically close power intensive apps in the battery settings.

Hi all I've this issue too someone have solved?
I have this exact issue. It started after the update to B183 firmware. I've checked all the battery saving settings, did a soft and hard reset, but the issue still lingers. I've called Honor support line and they asked me to hard reset the phone, but I told them that I've already did that. They asked me to take the phone to a repair center but I live in a island and the center is on the mainland.
Ive had an Honor 8 before and had no issues whatsoever with any updates. Honor dropped the ball on this one.
If you can rollback, that will be the best decision

Don't use any custom theme or font.
Also set your screen size to normal.
I too had this problem and did a factory reset. The issue persisted even after the hard reset but was gone in a day.
I guess give it time to settle down.

Since yesterday, my UI is really laggy. Just switching pages on the home screen will make it lag. Also, my battery has been terrible since the update. I updated through the Enroll loophole to get Oreo pushed to my phone earlier.
I didn't factory reset yet, I was going to ask if someone got the same issue before. If I need to reset my phone, how should I do it? Factory reset or pushing factory image to my phone?
Thanks!
After installing Oreo, I experienced a lot of lags on the Pixel launcher when switching home screen pages and swiping through the app drawer.
Flashing the factory image fixed it for me.

How did you reinstall? Factory reset or pushing the factory image ? I did the enroll beta loophole to get Oreo faster.
Thanks for the help
I downloaded the official factory image, and flashed it by the instructions:
https://developers.google.com/android/images
BTW, while in fastboot mode, before flashing, I erased the userdata, system and boot partitions (just to be on the safe side).
Im still on 7.1.2 and just reading comments on oreo. So far it seems that nougat is better and more stable. Im staying in nougat for a while until i see oreo improve. To many reboot, lag and battery problems.

It's a rough ride let's say ! I'm satisfied with the update but I wished Google would have learned and listen to the beta tester
Losing auto DND on Oreo is a big what ? Plus now when you get a notification while on a call. You get this loud beep beep in the earpiece speaker while on call...

That was one of the most requested things. The auto DND while on a call was a pain for those that multi task while on a call. I am so glad it is gone. No more "did you get it yet" questions while on a conference call

A simple setting would have solve this issue. I don't see why it has to be disabled for all. Personally I loved the feature.
I wish there was a way to remove this annoying sound

I am sure one of the custom roms will add a toggle for it or even but it back by reverting the commit needed for it. One of the biggest issues is that it interfered with call waiting and the notification tone not always going off.
Also depending on the country you are in, some notifications (like Government issued ones) are required to be able to interrupt anything.
Hi Guys! I am new here, my samsung A52s 5g just freezes and always going back to home screen specially when connected to wifi. It just happened all of a sudden, I didn't even downloaded anything, I just use my phone on social media platform and some games.
Here's what I did
I tried factory reset - issue still persists
I tried hard reset, clear cache - issue still persists
I tried reprograming with Odin the latest version of Odin - still didn't fix the problem I even downgraded the android version with the old A52s firmwarw with Odin but the issuw still persists.
Does anyone encountered the same issue? And know a solution? Please let me know. TIA
Welcome to XDA
Sounds like a hardware failure.
If you did all that not much else left.
I hope someone know a solution how to fix this problem. It just happened all of a sudden. The phone was working fine beforw my son just turned it off. When I turned it back on it freezes wherever I go and going back to homescreen by itself. It happens all the time when the wifi is on. But when the wifi is off, it is somehow ok.
Well leave the wifi off. You went back to a known good firmware version and set the data user partition to its default settings. Unless you installed a buggy 3rd party after that there's not much left other than a hardware failure.
Data user partition should be in default settings I guess since flashing to known good version.

Yes, restarting phone is fine like normal, but whenever I browse on my a52s it keeps lagging but when press the return/back button it goes back to normal but when I repeat browsing the same thing it keeps lagging, sometimes it freezes and going back to home screen.

Try a different browser like Brave.

That's likely a hardware failure of some type probably the mobo.
Hello guys! My A52s is now working in properly, no more freezing/lagging. What I did is I drained the battery to zero and had it fully charged then I saw an update from android 12 to android 13. Voila my a52s is back to normal like new . Thank you guys for your time to reply. God bless us all

Time will tell. I find that disconcerting. Did Samsung release that model with that big of a glitch in the firmware for some models of that production run? Yes, well... that's Samsung.
I've had this issue. Sent it back for warranty claims and they sent me a replacement unit, Initally I though GalaxyMax Hz caused this issue - so I haven't used it again.
