which is better 9.2.7 nouget vs 9.5.11 Oreo - Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi Guys
Today is the last day of my pc
Then I can't own a pc
So I have to be my phone with official stock ROM
So for that
Which ROM is better
And stable
And can anyone tell the process of relocking boatloder

9.2.4 was a godly build. It does not have camera portrait mode 2x zoom issues.
That said, I just flashed 9.5.11.0, and I dont use bluetooth and tethering, so I find it a good build. I use regular charger (though I have Moto fast charger compatible with QC 2.0 devices) and charging is fine.
I have also un-installed bloatware from 9.5.11, and I am getting SOT of 9hours with 2.5 days of charge period.

Yes

I'm still on 9.2.7.0 until Mi fix the issues with Oreo build. I usually get 7-8hrs of sot which is great as per my usage.
Why would you want to relock bootloader? Just flash MIUI rom.

9.2.4 is Better than Other Update.

Quick charge doesn't work on global ROM

The only time quick charge has worked on my phone is with the original ROM that came on the device. I've tried the developer rom and global stable, and neither of these work with quick charge. Even with the supplied wall charger it peaks at 1.7 amps. All my USB battery banks charge it at that speed too. I was able to charge at 3.2 amps with the original rom. Anyone else?
Same here after updating to miui9 it doesn't work.

Yep, I just confirmed it by reinstalling miui 8 global. Quick charge works on that one, but not on 9.

I don't get the charging rapidly message anymore on the new global rom either but ampere said that my phone was charging at 2.7A (battery was about 80% full) before it peaked and started gong down as it 90% etc....

If it's a known bug why would I report it anyways? It's already known. I'm using a forum for open discussion as that's the point of a forum.
I'll try the 7.11.6 ROM and see.
Edit: 7.11 is the developer ROM. I've already tried that one and quick charge does not work. For me it's only working on miui 8. None of the miui 9 ROMs have shown the charging current on the lock screen. I had to use a Drok USB meter to test the charge speed on miui 9 since the lock screen no longer shows the charge current.

7.11.6 has a working quick charge!
It's working for me on the 9.1.1.0 global stable rom. Let the screen turn off completely then press the power button and you should get "Quick charging, tap to view details" at the bottom. It doesn't stay there very long and changes to "About x mins until full" after a few seconds and then the quick charging notice doesn't ever seem to come back again.. It seems it only shows on the lock screen and even then just for a few seconds. It does work though

Ok, so I just upgraded to the 9.1.2.0 Global stable again, and it looks like quick charge is working, but they've just removed the amperage reading from the lock screen, which sucks because that was such a clutch feature.

Quick charge doesn't work with the standard charger. I had the global dev and now the global stable of MIUI 9 and with both quick charge works perfectly fine, just not with the standard charger.

Why is this so inconsistent for everyone? Quick charge definitely works for me on the standard charger, although I don't use it. I'm on the latest 9.1.2 global stable.
As I said before, quick charge DOES work on 9.1.2 global stable, but without an app like ampere you'll never know it's actually working. We need to be able to see the actual charging current, and not some notification that says that it's quick charging.
Global Stable 9.5.4.0 (Oreo), QC works, but only with 6V and 1,2A

Is the LeEco le pro 3 Elite worth it in 2018?

Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

Find something like USB Tester. But first change your cable
I use this one https://www.ebay.ca/itm/LCD-USB-Det...m=291967968309&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851 to measure. I don't have any charging issues on custom ROM's (been using Pixel Experience 8.1/9.0) and it charges the same as MIUI did. I use a Choetech cable, and have used 2 different QC 3.0 chargers. I charge at around 14w, which may be the max my cable supports. I have never used the original Xiaomi cable/charger.
I tried kangaroox kernel and it shows wayyy low mili ampers on aida64 battery section... And my phone also dosent heat up like when i used stock rom while charging... this also happens in pixle experience rom too.... Can you measure it too...??

Mi6 really slow after upgrade to 9.5.9 Beta

Hello,
a few days ago my Mi6 (4GB/64GB) upgraded to Pie (9.5.9 Beta) by OTA.
After that, the phone isnt smooth as in the past.
Sometimes starting apps from links while browsing - like ebay or amazon- fails.
Phone take little brakes.
Soundstreaming to a Bluetooth Soundbox is horrible, many little stops.
Does anyone has the same experience or issues after upgrading?
Best regards Christian
I always have this rule, if i upgrading. Example: from Android 8.0 to 9.0, then i doing full wipe, but older system leaves so many trash in system files.
I install 9.5.9 on my Mi6 128GB with MiFlash and dont have any problems, very stable rom, good battery performance.

The capability to set to charge only till 80%. Have read in TG that this feature was dropped, due to the danger of getting the device bricked because of her. There's a post explaining why here in xda, made by arrow dev.
You can root your phone with Magisk and get the Magisk Module "Advanced Charging Controller".
Then, in a Terminal, you do "sudo acc 80" to make it stop charging @ 80%.

Are you able to customise the maximum charge level as with Evolution-X,
I like to charge my F3 between 35% and 65%,
this lasts me around 8 hrs and only generates 0.03 cycles,
this will hopefully keep my battery in tip top condition.

Hi,
I`ve been looking for many years for a rom with the "Smart Charge" feature, i have only found two for the F3, Evo-x and crDROID,
i used to use ACCA until Evo-X came along, i am always on the look out for roms with this feature to see how it compares.
I brought my F3, New 14 months ago and it still has 95% of the battery capacity left according to ACCU.
I try to minimise the battery cycles and phone temperature,
hopefully by doing this it will keep my Battery in Tip Top condition.

No this rom is called miuivn.
There's already some roms with it. But most of the maintainers aren't including it, because it can bring issues.
Anyway, I when I'm not in a rom with Smart charge, I always use a app called "battery charge limit". Super lightweight that allows to smart charge.

Hi,
Yes i also read about Charging Issues regarding Smart Charging, before i switched to Evo-X, i used ACCA and this was good, but i think it`s better to have this feature built in.
There were post regarding dead phones ect using the smart charge function,
yet i used ACCA for 10 months without any issues before switching to EVO.
If possible could you link to "Battery Charge Limit" as I'm not aware of this app,

Hello buddy. Yeah I think we already have discussed that on other post. Supposedly it could bring serious issues to pmic controller.
But I used it around 3 years on my previous device (oneplus 3), without any issue. And now I've been using on poco, without any problems too. But well, I'm aware that someday it could turn bad.
I can't find on internet, but it's available on TG - https://t.me/RohailsHub/794.

Some custom ROMs that have smart charging feature built-in include:
AOSiP ROM
Evolution X ROM
Paranoid Android ROM
Please note that the availability and functionality of these features may vary depending on your device and the version of the ROM you are using. It's recommended to check the ROM's official XDA thread or the Github repository for more information.

Hi,
Just a small update regarding "Smart Charging", I had to revert back to ACCA, as i use a QI Wireless receiver/adaptor to charge my phone most of the time and found that when QI charging my battery temperature was getting worryingly high,
at one point it reached 40.5 degrees, yet when using a standard charger my battery was fine.
I tried the app that you uploaded (Many thanks) but it looked very similar to ACCA except it had less functionality, i also found an (almost) identical Program on the play store.
So for now i have disabled the "SMART CHARGING" function in the Evo-X rom and reverted back to ACCA, as i am able to set the charge temperature.
I have set it to stop charging at 35 degrees and resume at 30 degrees,
I have also ordered a replacement QI Receiver to see if it resolves my issue.
