I have no idea what's going on but when I give a voice command to "text or call" someone via the watch I get the error message "something went wrong". However, if I give the voice command to play a song, look up a name, etc it works fine. I have an Hauwei Honor 7X with Oreo and EMUI 8. My watch is a Zenwatch 2 with the latest "Wear OS" and I reset the watch twice.
Found the fix---I had to update "google play" on my watch then update "Google" on the watch, restart it and voila---works again!

Been playing around with some of the S Note features, in particular the Voice Memo thing.
I can't seem to get it to dictate more than a sentence. It just stops and 60 seconds later I get a message that says "Network unavailable, try again later" even though I have a connection.
If I tell my phone "Set a timer" or "Make me a sandwich" I get a voice reply from the phone.
If I "OK Google" the same commands to the 1st gen Moto360 watch the action is performed by the phone but w/o any voice reply.
I've reinstalled android wear and the watch has the latest firmware on it.
Any pointers folks?
Thanks,
RG
The Moto 360 does not have a speaker. You won't get any kind of confirmation from the phone about any commands given via the watch.
Hi
Just received my beautiful watch, but pretty frustrated with it's lack of intuitive interface.
If you could bear with me on 2 questions, I would appreciate it.
(1) How to initiate a text message? When I say, "send a text message" in the "Ok Google" prompt, it just takes me to a screen that looks like a web page describing what text messages are.
(2) Using the App ZenWatch Manager, I can choose a watchface and customize it, but there is no prompt to send to the watch or save, etc... How do I get that watchface to my watch?
Thank you so much!
greg
I usually say something like, "Send a text to my wife, I'll be home in an hour." (I have "Wife" set as a nickname for her in my contacts.) If the person has more than one number in your contacts, I think you also have to say something like "Send a text to my wife mobile, ...."
Yeah, I do think you have to specify a contact name before it'll actually start a new text message.
For your second question, it should save your custom watch face automatically, and the ZenWatch Manager watch faces should automatically be pushed to the Android Wear app, which should then be available on the watch. When you choose that watch face, it should reflect what you customized (if not, that's how it worked by default when I first opened ZenWatch Manager).
When calling with "OK, Google" from the watch it asks again and again for the name whom to call. It recognises the right name, it exists in the phone book, but it asks again whom to call. The phonebook is available and visible on the watch, I can place a call from the watch manually without problems. I can even initiate a call with my voice by telling the number, not contact name - it works.
Checked all permissions (turned off and on again for Google, Phone, Android wear both on phone and watches).
Any ideas how to fix?
Good morning everyone,
I have a problem with the voice control of the smartwatch 3. If I start a search by voice everything works fine and the search result is displayed. If I want to send a message to a certain contact the message screen is shown and I am asked to speak the message. Whatever I say it always says "not understood". So I am not able to send a message anymore [emoji21]. I am using a Huawei Mate 9 with android 7 in combination with the watch.
Does anyone have an idea why this doesn't work anymore?
Thanks in advance!
Does the voice input for e.g. WhatsApp messages work for you? Which firmware is used on the watch? And which Android version is installed on your mobile?
