After oreo update, I have got a problem with WIFI. In my house everything is OK, but when I am at work, mobile phone connect to the wifi, internet works for a couple of minutes and after that, wifi has been marked with
exclamation mark and when I want to turn off wifi, click on the wifi switch and Settings not responding. When I click on wifi in the navigation bar, UI not responding. After that, I have to restart the phone. After the restart, wifi is turned off.
I have got stock oreo(ETL). I tried to root it or restore backups from google play and Samsung cloud but nothing work. Maybe the problem is that in the work we have 5Ghz wifi.
When I revert to stock NUGAT, everything works.
Any idea what could be a problem?
at work do you have 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz with same ssid?
Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A320FL met Tapatalk
yes
android 7 had issues with that. change ssid of one of them and all problems are gone. Seems that android keeps switching between 2.4 and 5 ghz and connection fails ..
Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A320FL met Tapatalk
did you mean android 8? Because I have this problem on oreo (8). But I am not allowed to change ssid on the work wifi.
I meant that this error was there in android 7.0. I changed the ssid of 5 ghz and problem was solved. have now 8.0 didnt test it again, but assume issue is the same..
Verstuurd vanaf mijn SM-A320FL met Tapatalk
On 7.0 ETL works fine, anyway, I am not allowed to change the ssid in the work so I am not able to use wifi in the work
Same problem
After a standard update of Samsung to Android 8.0 I have exactly the same problem with the Wifi network at work. Before the update everything was ok. The wifi network at work has Phase 2 authentication (MSCHAPV2). Maybe it also has something to do with that. Were you able to fix the problem? If not I would like to revert the update and go back to Android 7, but I don't know how to do that.

I've got the same issue, I didn't find any way to solve it.
There is no option to force the use of 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz in this android version.
I didn't find a app to do it either.
Same here. Following the update, I can use WLAN at home but not at work (exactly the same pattern as described in the initial posting). Very annoying.
I wrote at Samsung support (czech support) and they told me that they don't have reported similar problem .. hm, it looks that the problem is there. Can you contact support too? Maybe, Samsung release the fix for it.
No, I didn't find any solution. But oreo didn't bring me any new feature, on the contrary, some useful features were deleted. Context menu which appears on long press icon doesn't contain app info. Forcing adaptable icon for Google apps is very annoying too because the google apps icons have the ugly border. I don't understand Google, they bring adaptable icons in the oreo but after one year, their icons still have the border.
So I revert to the Nugat which works perfectly for me. (For extending memory, I am using LINK2SD with SanDisk A1 certificated card)
I have the exact same problem. When connected to work wifi network, I get exclamation mark on the wifi icon, then it all freezes, and the phone restarts. In some of those restarts I cannot even type my password to unblock the phone. I also cannot deactivate wifi, when I press the icons the system freezes.
Same problem. Wifi at home no problem. Wifi at work (complex, multi-router, PEAP) is too difficult and phone hangs after showing the exclamation mark for some time.
Is everyone switching back to nougat? to be honest I'm not completely sure what the benefit of Oreo is, the net effect is negative for sure.
Seems to be issues with Oreo! maybe roll back wait

other ROM for A320FL?
An update: A wipe of the cache disk did not work. I don't want to start resetting factory settings as that will cost too much time. The freezing and rebooting really only happens on the PEAP wifi network, containment is to just disable wifi and the phone is working fine. (for me)
Did anyone roll back to nougat? Is that a smooth process?
Are there any other ROMs for this A320FL that people are happy about?
https://www.sammobile.com/2018/06/04/galaxy-a3-2017-update-june-2018-security-patch
So maybe it contains hotfix for this issue.
Can you someone write here whether wifi problem is fixed when you get this update? Thx
I've made a clean install with :
This firmware has version number PDA A320FLXXU2CRE3 and CSC A320FLDBT2CRD4. The operating system of this firmware is Android 8.0.0 , with build date Wed, 30 May 2018 05:37:04 +0000. Security patch date is 2018-06-01, with changelist 13368006.
And it's fixed.
Same problem here. Wifi disconnects and dont automaticaly connect. so I have 4g all the time consuming data.
Only solution is turn off wifi and turn back.
But after a few minutes it´s disconnected again
I have the same problems. I have done a factory reset and also used safe mode. These did not solve the problem.
As with other users, the problem only occurs on my work wifi. As long as I get my phone to never connect to that particular network it works fine. That is not the solution though. We need a patch on the operating system to fix this.
As I told two post upper, the bug is fixed with the patch : Security patch date is 2018-06-01

Since my Nexus 7 (2013) upgraded OTA to version 6.0 I've noticed a slow (about 7-10 seconds) connect time to my home Wi-Fi.
Previously it was almost instant.
Once connected I have no issues with upload or download speeds.
My WiFi settings are in Advance Wi-Fi:
Network notification - Notify whenever a public network is available
Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep - Only when plugged in
Wi-Fi frequency band - 2.4 Ghz only
Everything else as default.
Anyone else have this or know how to speed up the initial connecting?
Thanks
Put "keep WiFi on during sleep to always, frequency band to automatic

Thanks for the suggestions - will try.
I have exactly the same problem. Tried different settings but no result. Before upgrade to Marshmallow no such problem. Still not found a solution.

I tried 'blueyes' suggestion - no difference.
In a way its nice to know I'm not alone with this issue.
After November's update is still the same. Even worse when using chrome.
I also experiencing inconsistent WiFi connections after I upgraded to Marshmallow MRA58V and rooted using the NRT toolkit. I wonder if it has something to do with the modified boot image to allow root. My connection sometime are instant, but some times take a few seconds from both boot up and wake up. When I use to experience similar issues used to clear the Dalvik cache and reboot, but this does not work with Marshmallow as it uses ART instead. Is there any way to force Marshmallow to optimize the applications like it does when the ROM is first flashed? Any other suggestions?
After 6.0.1 update it seems better now.
I have installed v20b, everything works fine except WiFi: after sometime the connection just doesnt work and i have to turn off and on again the WiFi. This just happened to me at least 10 times

I do have this on IEEE 802.1X networks only. Also on Android 5.1. This seems to be regardless of root/no root.

Had WiFi dropouts on every LG ROM on this device.
It would drop on any WiFi network I tried. My old phone and all other devices have no issues at all.
Bit the bullet and unlocked bootloader and went to CM13, rock solid WiFi now. IMO LG's software is borked.

Right now there is only one way: LG Developer program.
I think that is problem with 6.0
My network is ipv4 and i think phone force ipv6. In developer options have option to use lollipop settings but i think that is not doing any better
There was an issue with Verizon 12B that was recalled with similar issues.
Never had Wi-Fi issues otherwise. It was patched in 13B

Same with me on 20a... wifi connects but there's no internet connectivity. Then it comes good for a while but eventually drops the wifi connection completely. Sometimes it forgets the wifi password and I have to re-enter it. Makes the phone essentially useless on wifi. A factory reset seems to be the next step unless anyone has any other suggestions?
Same problem on 20b
The WiFi problem seems to have settled down for me now. I went on a binge of uninstalling and reinstalling apps, cleared all app caches, rebooted several times, and recited some incantations (mostly beginning with f). I haven't spent a lot of time using it on WiFi but it seems a lot more stable. Will keep an eye on it and see how it goes.
I came back to a stock based ROM from CM13 because the lack of camera functionality and all my WiFi dropouts are back again. This is really disappointing with this phone as it is completely random and none of my other phones/devices have ever had problems like this. End of my tether with it to be honest, this phone will be going on eBay at this rate.
Well I've been running catlog tonight and it didn't take long for the WiFi to blip.
If there are any catlog experts out there I would really appreciate it if anyone could have a look to see if there is any indication of what is causing this random disconnection and then reconnect shortly afterwards
Many thanks in advance.
Sorry, can't help with the catlog. But having same problems.
I did 3 hard-resets with always the same result: wifi works fine for 1-2 days, than breaks.
The connection is strong an seems stable but data-throughput and ping times are ugly (0,4 Mb down, ping around 2-3 seconds).
Here's a screenshot that perfectly shows the impact: same phone, same setup, same wifi. just 1 day between the tests.
i.imgur[dot]com/JYI7b9I.jpg (sorry, can not upload pics)
Any ideas how to fix this? a DNS problem?
btw: IPv6 is disabled on the router.
I have the same problem and i found a solution for me. I'm using pebble smartwatch with G4 and i noticed that when i disconnect my watch or turn off bluetooth, wifi stays stable. If you have a bluetooth device like me you can try this method.

I've also had my G4 get into a state where Bluetooth is stopping WiFi from working. I posted a thread about this here. To summarise, I've twice gotten into the state where my WiFi disconnects whenever I put the phone to sleep. When it wakes up, it takes ages to reconnect. Sometimes it fails to authenticate and forgets the password for the WiFi network. Even when it is connected, the connection is very flaky. This only happens when I'm on a 2.4Ghz network and Bluetooth is enabled - if I disable Bluetooth or switch to my 5Ghz network then WiFi is ok.
I've had this happen to me twice now... the first time was straight after the update to MM. I fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling apps, and eventually it came good. After a few weeks the phone got into that state again. I tried clearing cache, factory reset, and reinstalling MM using the LG Bridge "Update error recovery" option and nothing helped. Once again I went through my apps one by one and uninstalled and reinstalled them and once again the phone came good.
This is a huge pain in the butt... not sure how long the phone will hold out before it gets into this state again. I really hope there's a MM update that addresses this soon.

I've noticed my Bluetooth problem in two ways. One of them was connecting a Bluetooth speaker while the watch is connected. When i connected speaker too, wifi had no issues.
And the other situation that i made my wifi stable was going into safe mode. Even Bluetooth on i was able to connect and stay connected to wifi when i was in safe mode.
Which apps did you have to reinstall? Do you remember?

I just started going down my app list and uninstalling apps which looked like they might have something to do with bluetooth, then putting the phone to sleep and waking it up to see if the problem was still there. I got a bit slack and maybe uninstalled two or three at a time before testing. I should have been more systematic about it but I wasn't really expecting it to work. I'm pretty sure the last one I uninstalled before things started working was TuneIn Radio so if you have that installed you might want to try uninstalling it. I've since reinstalled it and WiFi is still working.
The wifi works fine for a while and then just dies. The wifi icon is still in the statusbar but no matter what app I open that uses the internet connection, nothing will ever load and Whatsapp messages will not be sent. When I disable wifi and re-enable it, there's a ! next to the wifi signal bar stating there's no internet connection and of course, none of my internet dependant apps work still. I have to reboot my phone (shut it down and turn it back on; apparently they never thought of adding a restart option) to get my wifi to work properly again. This happened a few days ago as well and I really hope I don't have to reboot my phone every couple of days to get my wifi working. So any suggestions? (No suggestions that include flashing a custom ROM on it or rooting it!!) A factory reset won't help because I bought the phone with Android 6.0.1 already pre-installed. I have the security patch of july 2016 installed.
P.S. My 4g internet works fine.
How about giving rebooting the router a try.

I have a similar error.
That my Nexus partially can not access the Internet via wireless, to which it constantly changes between the wireless and mobile data.
Does this have to do with the "intelligent network change" setting, if so how can you turn off the setting, in marshmallow is this setting not available.
The trouble also occurs with other routers.

I did that the first time it happened since my router tends to freeze once in a while, even with the weekly schueduled reboot. But the thing is, my iPad still had internet while my Nexus didn't so it was definitely on the phone's end. I did a quick Google search and a plethora of other cases popped up so I knew I wasn't the only one. Apparently those wifi issues have been around ever since the update to 6.0.1 and the fact that Google did absolutely NOTHING to fix it those 9 months is just ridiculous!
Hi!
You've got the option to try the Android 7 (Nougat) Developer (now released: Preview 5) version.
Works fine and stable for me, and there is a slight chance that it will help with your problem.
Just join the: android.com/beta
And you can always roll back to your current Android version.
I don't have issues to connect with my router, though nearly every day there is a moment where websites don't load at all. Then I need to turn wifi off and turn wifi on again and then it works. Very annoying.
Is my Nexus defective?
I have just noticed that I have posted in the wrong forum, sorry
I dont have any issues. Are you stock? Have you tried other kernels / roms ? Have you tried to isolate the problem to the 2.4 or 5 GHz band?
Stock Android 7.0, there is no option to choose the band in Android 7, but I have already had this issue with Android 6.
Mine also has wifi issues. Sporadically disconnects and takes ~30 seconds to reconnect. Makes webpages, snapchat, and other apps not load all the time. Like you said, turning off and on wifi seems to fix it for a few.
I've tried forgetting the network, reconfiguring my router (it does this on other networks too), reflashing stock. I had this problem before I sent my phone in for the bootloop issue, and they sent it back fixed and it still does this. Thought maybe it was adblocking having issues, so didn't install that this time. Still does this. It's not TERRIBLE since it's connected maybe 70% of the time but it still is inconvenient

To isolate the bands you would have to disable the bands on the router.
My LG Wing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings stopped working after few weeks running Android 12. I have reset my phone and after 3 weeks it's the same problem. I just updated for 5G support(V30d-Jan-10-2023) and still the same problem. Is there any solution?
Hello, where are you and what carrier do you have? I'm in the United States and have verizon. So far I've had no issue with Android 12 on my device. If you have Wi-Fi calling turned on you might try to disabling that. Just a guess but maybe that could help.

Backup what you need to keep, and factory reset it.If that doesn't work, use LGUP and downgrade the firmware.
So I noticed something strange. I went to another city for couple of days and my phone worked just like before. The Wi-Fi is working fine, the UI is not crashing, Settings is not crashing(Network and Battery was crashing previously) and no slowdowns whatsoever. But as soon as I am heading back to my home it starts slowing down again.
The GPS location with the most time logged on my phone(place where I use my phone the most) causes the phone to slowdown. Is Android 12 deliberately slowing it down? Did anybody face similar issues with Android 12 on LG or any other Android phone?
That is very weird. I have not noticed any slowdowns at my home versus anywhere else with Android 12. My Wi-Fi and Bluetooth also work perfectly. Before a factory reset you may try resetting the network settings.
Apple made their iPhones slower on purpose after year or so of use. Android might be trying to copy that feature in Android 12. It doesn't makes sense that my phone overheats, eats up battery and have super slow UI all of a sudden. Even after hard reset it's the same issue. I have noticed it working fine after I leave my home for sometime. Or maybe I am being paranoid.
Also I have been noticing a bug from Android on LG Wing for past 1 year. There is a small icon for location which appears on top of your phone when it is trying to locate you. But that icon appears randomly despite my GPS is turned off. Seems to me that Android is deliberately accessing your location no matter you turn GPS ON or OFF. But LG UI still shows GPS icon.
