G2 D800 stuck @ LineageOS boot animation. Can't access TWRP/revovery/download - LineageOS Questions & Answers

Just spent hours on a stock AT&T G2 getting root, using Autorec to flash TWRP (twrp-2.8.7.0-d800), and finally using TWRP to wipe and then flash LineageOS 14.1 (lineage-14.1-20180516-nightly-d800-signed) and GApps mini (open_gapps-arm-7.1-mini-20180517). Rebooted afterwards. Saw the usual LG logo, followed by the LineageOS boot animation. All seemed well! Until the boot animation kept going... for over 8 hours.
I can hold the power button to restart. I can access "hardware key control mode." Nothing else. I've spent hours trying every conceivable Vol+/Power/Vol- combination and I can't access anything else. No recovery, no reset mode, nothing.
When I try to access download mode using Vol+ and plugging into PC, it only shows a battery charging screen with a yellow LED.
Although the PC does make a standard "USB device connected" sound if it is connected during the LineageOS animation, it doesn't show up in device manager other than as an additional item under "Human Interface Devices."
I've been poring over every XDA thread and google result i can find but nothing that works for me. The only person I've found in the same situation is here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/d802-bricked-lineageos-14-1-installation-t3587653 and they don't seem to have found a solution.
If anyone can help I would appreciate it immensely!

[Q] Bricked - No LG Logo, No DL Mode, USB "Sounds"

Hello, first I'd like to thank you for your time reading this.
Note: I've searched the forums a lot, even for other LG Devices (G2 for ex) but I couldn't find a solution.
Trying to flash CM12 by _infected (amazing rom, working as a daily driver on my other lg pad btw) and messed up something on TWRP.
-First trying to do a Factory Reset via TWRP gave me "failed to mount /data" and "/system" I rebooted and the device went straight to TWRP Recovery, I rebooted again, this time making sure I selected "Reboot to System" and it went again to TWRP Recovery...
- I did another wipe, this time wiped everything (all checkboxes in TWRP), reboot and... no boot...
Now my LG Pad is at the following State:
- Black Screen (No LG Logo)
- Connecting USB to Windows gives the "connected sound"
- Adb doesnt find device (driver was installed and working).
- Device Manager "refreshes" on USB plug but doesnt show the device (or I can't find it?).
- Holding Power on the tablet while USB plugged to Windows gives the "disconnected sound" -> "connected sound" -> "connected sound".
- Can't boot into Download Mode.
- Can't turn off the Tablet... only Reboots holding Power key.
Please? Any help?
What can I do?
Is warranty void at this point?
Thank you very much for any help you can provide.
I have a G pad in the same situation, and I wasn't able to fix it. I managed to pick up another cheap one, but I'll follow this thread in case you get an answer.
You have to find a way to get it into download mode or you wont be able to fix it with LG Tool
What did you mess up, and how did you install twrp ? Also what twrp version abd base.

For me personally, I assumed it'd be as easy as the twrp page makes it out to be , or my nexus 4 was, so I just went for it. I ran into that secure boot error with twrp, and rebooted back into stock. There was an OTA update, so I did it (stupid I now realise) and that bricked it on reboot. It won't turn on at all. If i plug into USB on a computer it OCCASIONALLY brings something up on the screen, the LG logo I think or something, but I cannot for the life of me get it into download mode. It's at home right now, so ic anot remmeber the exact thing it shows on screen, but almost certainly not download mode, and none of the hardware buttons seem to be responsive for doing factory resets or download or anything.
I managed to send the LG G Pad to warranty and got a new one... Lucky me...
Guess that if we can't get into DL mode they can't either.
However after much investigation I've realized that the problem was a corrupted system partition...

[BootLoop] Please help. No recovery, Download mode, adb, phone cuts off!.

UNIQUE SITUATION....... Long story short. Have LG G3 LS990, I accidentally deleted twrp stock backup from sd card, and was stuck with running CM 12.1. Then I flashed the wrong zip file using twrp to get stock firmware back. It was for a different model number, verizon I think. After that I could only boot in recovery, but twrp would not recognize/restore the CM 12.1 backup from sd card. I had a CM based Crdroid rom zip on my PC which I transferred to sd card and flashed in twrp. It worked and after the initial setup the the phone would just cut off. Went to stock recovery and factory reset. BAD IDEA! I cant get into download mode, it will flash the icon and then cut off when I plug into pc while holding vol down. Cant get into any recovery, tried all options to do so. Only option I have is to pwr on device, it goes into the Crdroid Cyanogen based rom and cuts off 15 seconds later. looked at many threads to fix problem, but nothing works because PC wont install drivers when phone is connected. When the rom opens up the pc will recognize the phone but only for 15 seconds before it cuts off. I have to remove the battery just to start up again. No recovery, download mode, adb/fastboot interface. Phone only powers on, show LG...powered by android screen, then goes into boot animation for CrDroid [the one with the eye of horus], and then i have about 15 second to swipe up and go into app folder, setting, etc. Then it just cuts off.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not so unique ay http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/help/lg-g3-d858hk-stuck-bootloop-t3129915
We will find a solution together, so far shorting pins is where we're at.

screwed my memory i think - not hard bricked but what is this? cant boot

after trying unsucessfully many times to get LVM to work I decided to go back to stock oppo recovery. I saw an option to unify memory in the oppo recovery and clicked that. My screen flashed for 30min with no reboot. I shut it down. This could have where it went wrong.
Now I cant boot into any recovery. Just stays stuck on the oppo logo. i DO have fastboot mode though and I CAN execute commands via the terminal/cmd prompt using adb/fastboot.
If I flash twrp, i can see it tries to boot into twrp with a blue flash of a screen but immediately it goes back to the oppo logo and stays there forever.
If I flash oppo recovery again, i can see it tries to go into oppo recovery but then the screen starts flashing bits and pieces of what I can make out as the oppo recovery.
Tried the unbrick method. I assume my memory is messed up because i tried to unify memory via the oppo recovery? I cant seem to do the unbrick method here: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=23067. Tried it with win10 on test mode and cant get his specific driver names to work/show up. Shows up on mine as Marshall London boot loader or Android bootloader.
Also used the repartition tool repair scripts: http://community.oppo.com/en/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=20271&extra=. That did nothing. Black screen for about 1hr. Still have fastboot right now though. Still doing the same thing.
Any way to solve this? Thanks in advance to the pros at XDA!
THIS WORKED!! It took me very long to figure this out!!

For that tutorial i had to deviate from the instructions ironically, if i held down power + up, it would take me to fastboot and i could NOT install the right drivers and it would come up as Marshall London Device (windows 10 with TESTSIGNING turned on). All I had to do was just plug into usb and NOT press or hold any buttons on the phone. Then it showed up as QHSUSB_BULK in device manager and I can proceed with this tutorial.

No access to bootloader or recovery after a custom ROM install attempt

Hi everyone,
So yeah, I probably shouldn't have played around with recovery, bootloaders and custom OS, but my XZ2 Compact was rendered nearly useless by the last Android update, so I tried to install the new official Lineage OS on it. But I failed. Hard.
Symptoms
The phone now only reacts to the power button. When I press it, it displays a battery charge icon for a minute or two, then the screen turns off.
None of the other physical buttons do anything, and the button combinations don't work. As a result, I can't boot to recovery, or even access to fastboot.
The light indicator is on and red.
I let the phone drain its battery, see what happens, and well, nothing. Eventually the screen stops turning on. When I replug the phone, even if I don't touch anything, it will end up showing me the battery icon again, and is stuck in the same loop.
'adb devices' still sees my phone, but with no permissions. 'fastboot devices' doesn't see anything.
On Windows, Emma (Sony's flashing tool) doesn't see the device.
Causes
I was following this tutorial. I went up to "temporarily booting a custom recovery using fastboot". I used the latest LineageOS recovery for my phone, and the flashing worked fine according to the output of the fastboot command. But that's all. Impossible to do anything after that.
Do I now own a glorified paper weight? Or can I save this?
Thanks!
SOLVED! I managed to stop the charging loop with a key combination I discovered: volume up + volume down + power for about 10s. Then was able to load the bootloader and re-flash a recovery, custom ROM etc. Thank you all for your help.
Have you tried to hold vol+, vol- and power button all together for (at minimum) a minute?
I would then try to restore stock firmware with newflasher (you'll find it using Google search or here on xda).
Great, thanks a lot I didn't know this key combination and it allowed me to get out of that charging loop and start the bootloader. Problem solved!
Nice, glad to hear!

Cannot boot into download mode

Hi everybody, yesterday I was playing with my old Galaxy A50 trying to install a custom rom unsuccessfully.
I repeated the procedure three times installing TWRP and then Havoc OS but every time I tried to reboot from TWRP to OS I was stuck at the warning screen saying that the phone bootloader was unlocked and booting into download mode to reflash TWRP was blocked as it showed "only official binaries can be installed" (yes I installed Samsung disabler but still).
Still I was able to get the phone into download mode and reinstall the stock firmware as it seemed to be the only way to install and boot TWRP.
But at 4th time repeating the process I got frustrated, shut down the computer and left the phone on the warning screen still connected to computer usb cable.
Then I got back and noticed the phone was off as the battery died.
Indeed the battery died, so I put the phone in charging and after it reached 100% I tried to boot into download mode again to reflash stock firmware.
But here's the strange thing, I cannot boot into download mode anymore as pressing vol up+vol down while connecting usb cable, shows the lightning charge logo for 5 secs and then reboots infinitely with the same pattern.
If I force reboot by pressing vol down+power it shows the Samsung logo with the warning below it, then skips to another screen with another warning suggesting to press power button to continue (which does nothing) and after a while reboots to samsung logo.
So it doesn't seem it is bricked, it looks more like a battery controller fault, so I tried to detach the battery flex from the board, hoping it would reset the controller but it's still the same.
Also I tried with the flex detached and still no download mode is possible.
Was the download mode somehow erased? (if it's even possible considering it's the motherboard firmware)
If you need photos, videos or even a call on zoom, Skype, webex I would be glad to show you
same i got the same problem i can't find nothing for this when i press volume up and down and put the otg cable its simply charges but it gets stuck on the logo image there's no way to fix this but the only way is to open the phone, change the emmc and put one from samsung, close the phone flash a custom rom and you are done.
If you can enter recovery, do it. As soon as your phone gets into it, select the power off variant and then try to enter the download mode.
It seems like you did not unlock the bootloader, did you?
The bootloader Is unlocked i can't enter in the recovery because the phone locks on charging logo and its fully charged but when i try without charger It doesn't start.
