Suddenly I realized that i don't have write access to my sd card. I believe that DocumentsUI is missing from my system. However, the camera does have access, all photos and videos are saved in sd card.
Does anyone have any idea or any solution...?

Hey everyone,
I have a stock non-rooted Sprint version Galaxy S3 with Jellybean. I installed a 32 GB SD Card and it worked fine for the longest time. Today I realized that when I take pictures it will not save to the SD Card. The card is recognized by the phone, it reports the correct size, and I can see the contents but I cannot write to the card any longer.
I unmounted the card, uninstalled and reinstalled the card, and restarted the phone, but no matter what I do I can't save anything to it. I downloaded an SD card testing app and it said I didn't have permission to write to the card. Has anyone heard of this issue before? I am going to try to use the Kies Air app to move all of the contents of the card to my PC and reformat it to see if that helps. Thanks to anyone who might know what's going on.

Have you tried already manually adding stuff to the card via transfering files from Internal to ExtSDCard?
Have you set up your camera settings to save picture / recordings to external SD card or
try testing to create new file / folders within the card?
Just done an OTA update to Android 5 on my UK sim free Lg G3 but I am still unable to move files from internal SD to external SD.
Have a lot of downloads that are taking up space and tried to use ES file manager to move a video to my 64GB micro SD card and it failed.
I thought Lollipop returned the use of the external SD card?
Don't want to root the G3 because the banking apps will stop working.
What should I do?
Hi, did you try tu use stock file manager?
The stock file manager does not have a copy/move option.
Has write to SD actually been returned in Lollipop or is rooting the only option?
It has. Hold your finger on file and it will popup menu. Im using it all time. It's not FM if it doesn't have move copy or delete.
Tried that but again, no copy/move options (lots if others though, inc. delete, share ect).
Strange problem this.
Just an update.
I unmounted the external sd card and erased.
Now the built in file manager has all the options Inc. copy and move.
I can now write to the card.
Lolliepop has reintroduced Write To SD Card
The file manager app Xplore can now write to the sd card. You have to try it first and then it will send you through a small set up to allow writing to the sd card. So Google fixed it. Its just now the apps have to be reconfigured to be able to write to the sd card.

Glad to got that fixed mate! To make deleting videos and pics easier.. you can try Quickpic from Play Store. You can select multiple pics/videos easy and fast..move them to a desired folder or delete them
Hi guys,
I have read some topics here but couldn't really find my exact issue.
I have a stock G3, no root, with Loolipop. I use an SD card (16 Gb), but for some strange reason, the apps are not moved to it, even though in app settings, it says they are stored on the SD card.
It is like it is seeing it's own internal storage like the SD card, without actually using the real SD card.
The SD card is fine, The system can write on it with no issues. I store the photos and videos taken on it, and they are actually stored there as I have checked.
Anyone have any ideas what the issue may be, and what is the solution?
Thanks
Have you tried an app2sd from the play store?
Not one, but several apps. All they do is take me to the app settings where I have to click on Move to SD.
From what I have read, this issue has to do with how Lollipop is now managing the SD card. Maybe I am mistaking, perhaps it is an LG issue.
I couldn't find any other relevant information.
Hi all...so, i buy the microSD KIngston SDCA3/64GB 4k2k to have more speed on card and more storage, i have it formated in exFAT and the card works fine to copy, paste and move files (but is not that speedy, anyway A1 SD Bench shows 81MB Read and 58MB Write).
But, when i go into Camera app and change the location of saved photos and videos to my SD card and when take the photo is looking ok, the thumbnail appear on right bottom side, but when i open the gallery to see the picture i see not the picture but one "image" with a advertise sign something like my file are broken or something like that, and when i try to record videos it shows: "Failed write the file" and i cant record any videos to SD card!
i'm rooted, in Stock Lollipop and before i have this card i have a Samsung EVO 32GB card and it works fine with the phone...whats wrong with the card?! isnt compatible? what i can do to record videos into them?
UPDATE: forget this, i solve the problem, in fact the problem is the permissions to record to sd card, and i install sd fix from playstore and now i can record into sd card! perfect now...
I recently updated my AT&T LG G4 to 6.0 Marshmallow, and noticed that I could no longer save pictures to my SD card. Upon further inspection, I realized that I couldn't write files nor folders to my SD card, through both apps and manually on my computer. However, I could still read the contents of my SD card. When I then went to format my SD card, I found that I was given an error that /storage/aaaa-aaaa (where aaaa-aaaa is my SD card) could not be found.
Is there anything that I can do to fix this?
