Lets get those warnings out of the way! Warning Do this at your OWN RISK! There is NO WAY BACK to AT&T firmware at the moment and might never be. Only loss is you'll loose VoLTE and WiFi calling (If using the H873 Firmware)
Idea came from this thread which also perfectly works on the AT&T model! https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g6/help/unlock-lg-g6-ls993zva-sprint-version-t3779966 Its the same method.
We finally get Network Selection AND being able to Disable LTE as well for those who like it, and removing the carrier branding in the top corner. (See screenshots)

Curiously the thread you've mentioned in the OP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-g6/help/unlock-lg-g6-ls993zva-sprint-version-t3779966), claims to be able unlock the SPRINT variety only by merely flashing it with an "open network" type firmware.
In my experience, I've never seen any phone, ever get unlocked by merely flashing a firmware (even if it's "open network" type).
Usually the network lock information is stored in a non-volatile security zone, so this just doesn't make much sense.
Now, I'm not doubting the OP, it's just extremely unusual, but it could be an anomaly or firmware bug.

Well this thread is not for unlocking the GSM model which it CANNOT. It’s meant for having a generic open firmware removing all the AT&T junk. Meaning if it’s not unlocked it won’t be unlocked after flashing.
Now the Sprint model is CDMA which is completely different than how GSM works. Sprint CDMA phones are usually software locked to keep it from being used on GSM networks. That explains that

Getting moisture in charging port and another popup that asks if I want to keep it as a charging device for another phone. I'm sure it's a minor bug and a restart fixes it but I'll be trying to update tomorrow. Saw on a Korean site that there's newer options.
No regrets by the way. So nice finally having a modern os
Works perfectly, thank you very much!
But one thing: I had to start LGUP.exe with admin rights. If not it was not possible to choose the kdz file.
Btw...is there a way to remove Facebook, Instagram and the hole sh*t? For sure i choose remove LG apps as well but these apps still there.

Got ya! Well now it makes sense... first, the description "unlocked" is a bit misleading, a more accurate description would be "un-branded" firmware. Second, on the Sprint side I can see how the open-firmware could "unlock" the network, course that would disable the CDMA side, only GSM would work.

Yes, here's how to disable any app WITHOUT root.
First, save the app list into a file with this command issued from your ADB folder:
adb shell pm list packages -f >c:\Apps.txt
Look through the saved file (c:\Apps.txt) with any file viewer/editor (like Notepad etc.), search and find the app's name you wish to disable.
For example, the Facebook app:
package:/system/app/Facebook/Facebook.apk=com.facebook.katana
Copy and paste "com.facebook.katana" (without quotes) into this command line:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.facebook.katana
The above will disable the Facebook app till you factory reset or update your phone's firmware.
Just repeat the command for all other apps you wish to disable.
Enjoy!

There is no H871 flashable firmware out yet and quite possibly won’t be.

It wouldn’t have anything to do with the firmware unless 1. The LCD is for a different model or 2. Your phone is not a H871

Hello users I have recently bought a new T-Mobile LG Optimus F6.
For those of you who may have just purchased one or need one rooted and or unlocked here is how to do it.
Root:
Download MotoChopper.zip that is attatched at the bottom.
Then place your phone in Debugging mode. Also check unknown sources in security.
Unzip the MotoChopper and look for "run.bat"
Once that is all done you should have root access.
Unlock:
I use Blowfish Unlocks. You can use who ever you prefer.
Dial *#06# and that will be your IMEI number.
Next submit for the code and wait.
When it comes back use: SIM_UNLOCK=00000000000000
Now to enter the code you have to put in a non supported sim and dial 2945#*500#
Then choose Network Unlock and enter your code. If the first code doesnt work do not panic.
You have 10 attempts and you usually get back 5 different codes. Try them until one works. But to be sure double check that you submitted the right IMEI to begin with.
Enjoy
works

Question about the rooting
Is the rooting all that is needed to enable tethering without the paying of an additional fee to T-Mobile? Basically being held hostage....... and will the phone be capable of OS updating in the future?

what's the difference T-mobile v MetroPCS
Metro sold me the F6 based on the fact it works on the T-mobile networks LTE. However, I am having a hard time living with an unrooted phone so I'm hoping to use motochopper to root. But someone said it will not work. Is there really that much difference between those sold by T-mobile and those from Metro?
I "upgraded" from a Motion to have bigger screen, and now I find out that may have actually been a step down? WTF!?
All I want to do is unbloat and get rid of "insufficient storage" errors. Shouldn't be so tedious!

You can root with the vroot method.
There's some questions about what it does exactly but it does work. I should point out that the program and its cousin program are under community investigation due to possibly shady dealings with pulling and pushing files. Its cousin program (kango or something) Has been shown to pull imeid off phones and apparently send them, unencrypted, to a Chinese server.... but it's the only thing I've found to be a proven working root.
Can't unlock boot loader so no custom roms but you can debloat.
I've discovered that both my l9 and my f6 hold onto the storage allotment for moved downloads...
Not sure if you get my drift...
If you download a file to internal and move it to sd it still shows up in "downloads" when you check the storage in your settings.
To solve it open settings/storage/unmount sd and then open downloads under internal storage and delete files you know you moved.

Hello dear all,
I bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy s6 phone in my country. As I am a bit curious, I noticed later on that the phone have been unlocked before I purchased it with the local seller, as it worked fined with my local SIM Card operator.
I also noted the phone was CDMA, as there was not anywhere I could setup an APN. I used a third party all, APN Configurator (downloaded from the Play Store) to define a custom APN and then I could go the the internet using mobile data. I used the phone for two days without any noticeable issue. Then, one night, I rebooted the phone and it got stuck into a bootloop, with a message displayed in red in the upper left corner of the screen : "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock".
I made some research and I understood FRP lock was a sort of protection related to OEM (which could be deactivated in Developer Options). I did not knew anythting about that. Anyway, as it was useless to me at this point since I could not even start the phone.
However, Download mode and Stock recovery were still available. I downloaded and flashed a stock rom for Sprint (G920PVPU3BOL1) and I flashed it via Odin. It went fine. Now when I boot the phone, It gives me the following message :
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
I get get past this screen. I only have Wifi-available, but still, I can't go anywhere with that.
I am loocking for a proper way/tutorial to bypass this screen and then unlock the phone from here.
Much thanks in advance.

Thanks @jinderation. I already came accross that tutorial. Unfortunately I can't apply it since it requires to install some APKs. I cannot even do that since I am stucked at the activation screen and I can't get past the message I mentionned before:
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
So, no way to access to the menu, where I can connect the device to a PC and then send an APK and then install it from the device.
So I am looking for a proper way to bypass the activation screen first. Then I can proceed with the tutorial you mentionned.
Take it to sprint.. Have u checked for its imei no. Whether its blacklisted or not...the seller whom u bought from did he make his payments to sprint cuz if he didnt then you are screwed..share the imei number here so i can check
U can also try flashing this firmware its 5.11 BOL1 as well i dont know where u had downloaded the firmware from mine is also unlocked but doesnt show the type of screen that you are mentioning

By carrier, I mean the wireless company that provides the phone/texting services to your phone ... if the phone wasn't bought from the original services company.
If it was, the other option might be to try a factory data reset to see if it allows the update to 6.0 to come through automatically - you will have to back all your data first, otherwise you will lose it.

Tell him to flash the H815 European firmware... it will not do any damage because the OS has the same signature across all variants, so the bootloader will accept.

Read somewhere that LG flash tool working only with 5.1, not 6.0. About version - except 20b, i have also european so if first will work, i'll next . I know that i can't root phone with 6.0 but first of all - it's for my girlfriend and i think, that she don't care. Second - with quite long history with android, i never rooted any of them. I never saw a reason and also i'm bit scared when we're talking about more complicated actions . Anyway, thanks for advice. We will in next 5 hours if i finally get 6.0 on this phone

You're lucky you have the European version.. you have no idea how much hassle I went through to get that version...
So anyways, since your bootloader is unlockable, I recommend you unlock it first, prior to flashing anything mentioned by sdembiske.
I recommend you also root the phone and install TWRP, just incase something goes wrong while flashing, you can easily recover the phone, and not have it completely destroyed.
Once you have rooted, unlocked bootloader, and installed TWRP, you can safely do literally anything on the phone
Flashing the rom can easily make your 700USD device worth 0, within seconds... so Please .... take the precautions.... and install TWRP
Cheers

LG Flash Tool has many more bricking issues than LGUP-NEW. If you ever decide you want to roll-back to 5.1, LGUP-NEW will throw up a roll-back version error if one is present - LG Flash Tool will not and will result in a bricked phone. Overall, your best and safest bet is to use LGUP-NEW.
One note: There are fraudulent sellers of supposed H815's out there and as you bought yours through auction there are no guarantees. To be on the safe side I would check with the seller to see if you can ascertain if he was the original owner and ask where the phone was purchased (what country) and who the original carrier was.

G4 F500k is the Korean version, isn't it??
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/korean-g4-f500k-t3150548
Before you do anything, be 100% sure what variant you have. To do so, please enter the following codes in the phone's dial pad:
*#546368#*815#
*#546368#*500#
If the first one works, you have the H815, if the second one works, you have the F500K ...

Power down the phone, pull off the back cover and take out the battery. There should be a white tag under it - make a note of all the letters and numbers there. Provided the tag hasn't been tampered with, it should provide a good idea of what model you have and help narrow down your search for a kdz/tot that will work. I would still check with the seller of the phone and seek some verification. If the auction site is reputable, you may have some recourse if the phone is not as it was sold as.

Hey buddy, let's check whether your bootloader is unlockable before you do anything. Please download ADB (Android Debug Bridge)
Before we do anything, make sure "Enable OEM Unlock" and "USB Debugging" options are enabled.
Once you install ADB, open Command Prompt (Press Windows Key + R , then type 'cmd' and press Enter key)
Issue the following commands:
Code:
cd C:\adb
Code:
adb start-server
Code:
adb devices
At this point, your device should show up under the list of devices. If it doesn't issue the following commands to restart the ADB server:
Code:
adb kill-server
Code:
adb start-server
Then, check again whether the device is being detected
Code:
adb devices
If the device is not showing, please check whether drivers are properly installed
If the device is being shown, you can proceed to the following command:
Code:
adb reboot-bootloader
If the device just boots back to Android, then the bootloader is locked, and you could have any device aside from the H811 or H815 European version
If it boots into the bootloader, then you have either the H811 or the H815 European version, and you should be able to easily root, install TWRP and flash any variants kdz file.
Now, if you have got this far without booting back to Android, time to unlock bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Once complete, issue:
Code:
fastboot getvar unlock
If you get the message "Unlock: Yes", then you have successfully unlocked bootloader.
Hope this helps

I have HWOTA8 from Russian site for BND (most of the development for Hauwei and Honor seems to come from Russia so don't be worried about that) It has "re-branding built into it. (change location)
https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=879524&view=findpost&p=72818217
But the batch "tool" was in Russian. I used google to translate the comments to English.
Attached is translated version of HWOTA with rebrand options.
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262904030368
.I had nothing to do with the making of this tool . I have only made the comments the batch tool displays into English, with help[ of google translate. (and studying the script to ensure the comments / questions are correct)
The process of re-branding phones is not new, these type of tools have been used many time. But that doesn't mean it will be totally safe every time. You are using this at your own risk. And must accept that anything may go wrong during the process.

FRP Unlocked
:crying:
Hi all,
Just want to make sure I am doing this correctly and ask a few questions on the way. I have ordered an unlocked Note 10+ direct from Samsung because I really wanted Aura Blue (plus totally bonkers pre-BF discounts). My understanding is that, as I use T-Mobile, the radios are not going to be optimized for T-Mobile's network, leading to crappier call quality, and some features will not work.
1. Is this correct?
If so, my understanding is that I can use Odin to flash the T-Mobile firmware without rooting or unlocking the bootloader, and this will allow the phone to work as though I purchased it from T-Mobile. Assuming that I have this right so far, I need to download and install Odin, download the most recent T-Mobile firmware from here: https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note-10-plus/firmware/SM-N975U/TMB/
and install according to the instructions on the page for "5 Files" (https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/g...e/SM-N975U/TMB/download/N975USQS2ASJ8/299552/).
2. So far so good? Do I have this right so far?
3. Sometimes my wifi gets wonky and file downloads get corrupted. Is there a way to ensure the integrity of the file before I install it onto my phone?
4. I understand that there will be a lot of Samsung and T-Mobile Bloatware. To remove this, I just follow these instructions via ADB, is that right?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...msung-galaxy-note-10-note-10-debloat-t3964027
or these: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how-to/disable-bloatware-for-free-your-galaxy-note-10-10-0207598/
5. Anything I'm missing?
Thanks in advance for the help. I haven't used these programs since my Galaxy S3 so I'm quite rusty.
The directions look pretty accurate, but there's a few other things you will need to do.
Don't use the home_csc when flashing the Tmobile firmware to the device. Also you will want to place the userdata file into the correct spot on the odin flashing tool. The userdata contains all the carrier specific stuff.
Do a factory data reset before you flash the Tmobile firmware (to remove the FRP lock). After flashing the Tmobile firmware be sure to do another factory data reset to ensure things (OTA, etc) work properly.
As for the download you could try using samfirm and having it check the CRC32. Checking the CRC will double check the file integrity. I don't have samfirm anymore on my PC because I upgraded to the Note 10+, but someone else may have a link to a download (or you can google search it to locate it.. Which is what I did to obtain the app before).
As for the bloat I just uninstalled what apps I could that I didn't need, and for the others I used an app from Google Play Store to disable them. I do suggest that you try disabling apps first and not trying to remove them. If you remove the wrong app you will undoubtedly encounter issues/problems.

Gotcha. Do you recall which app you used? I guess I could just hide them in a launcher app, too, but I am particularly miffed about the fact that Facebook apparently comes pre-installed and can't be uninstalled on the unlocked N10+ (though I do not have one in my hands and obviously can't confirm myself as a result).

Yes use the CSC_*** and not the HOME_CSC when flashing.
For the userdata you should see it when you look at the Odin interface. Essentially as you place the 5 individual parts into each appropriate spot in Odin, you should see the 6th spot labled userdata.

If you just take it out of the box, turn it on and do not add a Google Account to it then you can just skip the factory data reset.

1. Can you explain why are we flash use file from U version instead of U1?

My responses in this thread pertained to the OP asking about flashing U firmware onto his/her U1 model phone. Even if "both" have it (and I used both) I only got the full functionality available from the carrier when I flashed the carrier firmware.
Otherwise I got generic one size fits all functionality with the U1 firmware... Which was fairly decent, but the U firmware was a better performer for Tmobile IMHO.
But flash what you want and see what changes. If you did research onto the subject then you should be aware of the bootloader version (explained further below).

Not sure why this is still a problem to understand? It's been answered before and even on different threads/forums if you search for knowledge. Or go ahead and try it to find out... Either way here's how I understand it (and from past experience).
Unless things have drastically changed (which I have not heard have or seen) firmware for the U1 model is unbranded firmware. It's has a carrier bloat free experience, configured to obtain updates through samsung with a generic one size fits all carrier compatibility pending on what sim card is installed. Once installed the phone configures itself based on what sim card settings are present and (from poking around on my last rooted phone and from what I can remember) some configuration scripts on the phone (enabling/disabling bands and etc). This is why some features won't work and some will, but again it depends on the carrier and what the carrier requires.
Unlike the U1 firmware the U firmware is carrier specific and contains customizations/tweaks for said carrier by that carrier. The firmware also will contain changes made by the carrier and any carrier specific apps.

If your going to flash firmware then you flash either the U1 firmware or the U firmware. You shouldn't mix and match firmware parts.. Just pay attention to the bootloader version of the firmware. You can only flash firmware that has a bootloader version equal too or greater then that of what is currently on the phone.

Only if the bootloader is equal to or greater then what is currently on the phone then yes.

Sorry I could not get back sooner but had to work to pay the bills. As a side note you can find all of your answers on the internet. None of this is special access private information, it's been covered quite extensively.
