Hi there, don't bother with root softwares such as these. For the MIUI Oreo ROM you need the latest version of Magisk or SuperSU. Whichever one you decide needs to be flashed in TWRP.
Browse the Mix 2 guides on XDA there's plenty information on this topic.

Most likely yes, but you can always copy it to PC before flashing

Just do a backup and root it forever, then you can use TitaniumBackup who backups everything.
Do it.

You can actually get away with not flahsing TWRP. You can setup the fastboot drivers on your PC, download the TWRP img and in CMD just boot to the TWRP image "fastboot boot TWRP.img" for example. It will boot to TWRP one time where you can utilize it's flashing capability but once you reboot there's no trace of it and you still have stock recovery.

[Help] New and Lost!

Hey guys.
I own LG G3 for about year and a half after using rooted Galaxy nexus for few years. Very satisfied!
I want to unlock, root and flash custom rom to update my device to Android 6 and enjoy some root features I miss.
My device:
LG G3, D855 (32GB), 5.0.
Build Nubmer: LRX21R.A1447078419
Software Version: V21a-SEA-XX
I saw many ways to root, which one is the best? (using PC, not ADB stuff..)
Do I still have to reset my whole data for rooting?
Is "bootloader unlocking" thing still exists?
Important things to backup before doing anything?
1. You can use "One click root" to root your device , This is the best way
2. you don't need to reset your device
3. after you install SU download autorec from google play for D855 LP to install TWRP recovery
4. It's up to you , for me I have not , but for more safety do it.
Good luck

Hi guys, ther's a way to root Htc 10 Oreo with SuperSu by Chainfire? I've tried the procedure for Nougat without results. I need SuperSu to use Sunshine and I've read Sunshine is not compatible with Magisk.

Nevermind - found it in another thread.

No OEM Unlock in developer options
Can't seem to unlock the bootloader for the life of me. Tried everything listed to no avail. Developer options does not have the OEM unlock option anywhere and i've done multiple factory resets and reset into recovery mode/reset, etc.

How to root Mi A2 lite?

Is there any way, in this moment?
I would like to root and put TWRP on my device...I know there is no TWRP yet for this model and it's not problem. But how to root?
TWRP is not ready yet, but you can root with magisk, there is a guide in this forum.

Thank you very much.
I found that earlier but it's lot much job just for root and in that case phone will be factory reset. But I do not want to set up my phon several times.
Will wait for TWRP and then will root.

to use twrp you need to unlock the bootloader too, so you still hace to do the factory reset.

So you don't have to reset the phone, you can install Magisk without losing anything.
How?
I installed Magisk manager app, but how to install Magisk.zip? Because manager without .zip does not work, of course
Rename to update.zip and install over stock recovery?

You should extract boot.img from fastboot ROM and patch it with magisk then flash it with fastboot.
Ok...I know that process...I thought there's another way. In that way I have to setup my phone again...twice was just fine

How to install magisk in Oneplus 5T?

I have a OnePlus 5T locked and unrooted phone having OxygenOS 5.1.7 installed. I am new to rooting and related kinds of stuff. Can someone help me to give some instructions to install Magisk in my device? I know the below steps, but at the same time, I am having some questions in my mind.
1. Unlock bootloader - I saw some commands here to unlock bootloader - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74504347&postcount=4 - looks like these are outdated, last updated on Dec 2017. Are those work today also?
2. Install TWRP recovery - I heard that, OxygenOS 5.1.7 is having Project Treble supported. Can I use the same TWRP recovery mentioned in the above link?
3. Root using Magisk or SuperSU. What is the difference? What is systemless root? Anyway, I need to install Magisk Manager finally - Please suggest a way.
4. And the last one, How do I unroot my device if something goes wrong? Or is that possible?
5. I don't want to install any custom ROMs, I am fine with OOS.

1. Yes the unlock commands remain the same till date.
2. Use the latest bluspark twrp which has the treble support, link mentioned is fine and if you need the direct link, its here
3. Use the latest Magisk as SU is a dead project now.
4. Whenever you want to unroot just dirty remove/uninstall all the mods, dirty flash the latest stock rom > Factory reset in recovery and lock the bootloader. I did a post here for the 6T and it should work the same way on 5T.
5. You can stay rooted on OOS no need of custom roms any more :good:
Let me know if you want to know anything else, Thanks.

1. Yes, but your phone will download the whole firmware at each update instead of the ota.
2. Yes
3. Yep you can.
4. Yes of course, but some apps will detect root. So you will have to use Magisk Hide (inside the Magisk Manager) to hide root from these apps.
Note : I didn't use OOS anymore but it seems to me that OOS overwrites root everytime you update, so keep in mind that you will have to reflash it everytime

1- Yes, but you will recieve full sized zip (1.5+)GB automatically in rooted OOS. Incremental small sized ota won't work in case of root, and don't bother with it.
The downside of updating full whole zip is that you will loose root & twrp recovery after the update. So keep in mind, you will re-install both of them later.
2- I haven't tried beta, but i am sure yes
3- any switch between those requires clean flash in TWRP (wiping dalvik cache, cache, data, vendor and system). So, make sure to have backup in safe place.
4- yes, as long as you passed the safety net in Magisk. Magisk has a feature to hide root on certain apps of your choice, so you can use banking apps later
All my magisk installed whether in oos stable or custom roms, passed the safety net out of the box. So I haven't faced issues there.

Magisk working or not?

I heard people brick their phones after flashing magisk. Is that their fault or it's just that magisk doesn't work on this phone yet?
Seems to be the later.
I will test some Magisk versions today.
The manager installs just fine, I downloaded the image from Mi and extracted the boot.img from their firmware. It seems to have been patched just fine with the Magisk app, I haven't flashed it yet, haven't figured out how to get to download mode on this phone. They have a custom boot loader and custom recovery on it. adb reboot download just reboots the phone. I went through the motions of unlocking the bootloader per their instructions but they're having me wait a week before I can unlock the bootloader. I'm hesitant to flash magisk before unlocking the bootloader and making sure I can re-flash with twrp if needed.
Flashing magisk bricks the phone, flashing patched boot.img also bricks the device.
Kingoroot anyone ?
A loot of people brick their phones.. but the sad part is to recover it back.. I dont know why is so hard to unbrick almost everyone Xiaomi phones...

Should be quite similar to before, but if you flash preloader & lk, you can recover from these bricks. That said, I've never had magisk bricking it for me.
I am on MIUI 12, Android 10, Chinese Beta Rom and I have Magisk installed as well...
Any update on a fully working method to root our device?

There is an easier way.
I had twrp as recovery and when i flashed magisk v20 zip it bricked both the normal system and recovery
It was saying "The system has been destroyed"
So i was doing random stuff and found the solution
1) go to fastboot
2) from pc execute the "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" you probably know how to install twrp
3) then boot to recovery
4) enter password and allow modifications
5) go to reboot > System
Thats how i did it.
I have not tested with other custom recoveries
Hope I help
