Moving back to MIUI from RR due to camera issues with RR. Which MIUI based ROM (Oreo) should I flash?
I see a lot of discussion around specific MIUI versions (offical/leaked/xiaomi.eu/ROM builder) and honestly, I figured it would be better to just ask.
I have .eu now

Which version and what is your feedback about it (battery life, performance, camera,...) ?
Use the stock global stable.
Xiaomi.eu is a laggy mess. Everyone is complaining about lags and frame drops in the UI and everything.

It is much better. More power and speed. Photography in portrait mode at 4000x3000.

What kind of problems?
I was on 9.2.7 and while on wifi I get very slow speed as compared to my other devices(moto g4+,vivo by).
Sometimes it doesn't even connect. So I downgraded to 9.2.5 and it worked fine but I face the same issue for sometime once in a day and on 9.2.7 I faced it the whole day.

Above is the reply
eu 8.5.10 is recommendable
If you make a clean flash (maybe, you should not restore data partition), eu 8.5.10 is usable.
I'm newbie user of Redmi Note 5 AI, so unlocked bootloader and installed eu 8.5.10 cleanly.
After my setup, it performs almost all things flawlessly.
But there's some fps drop, especially in vertical animations like keyboard pop-up.
And if you try to set up permissions or notification control via certain app, crashes happen.
Those 2 things are the major issue i've experienced while using eu 8.5.10 for 2 days.
Except these problems, everything is good.
I prefer eu rom because there's not that many bloatwares and lots of themes.
Hope to get better fps setup for future releases.
Does RR still have camera issues? I've been counting days to flash that ROM, As soon as I got my bootloader unlocked (still on stupid waiting period) I was hoping to flash it. but what is this camera issue that you are facing with?

Google camera works perfectly and takes better clicks than the stock MIUI camera. It was working from the start just had to enable camera2api(now its enabled by default). No issues in the camera department.
Try MIUI pro stable 9.5.6.0 based on Global. 0 lags.

How the heck do I change the language from Russian to English?
EDIT: I found out how to change its language, but not everything is in English...
Also, the launcher is somewhat slow, especially when trying to add more screens/widgets.
I just ask , why you didn't use latest CM9 by MoltenMotherBoard?
I think as base it's better than CM9 by MacławStudio.

What ROM do you use?
I have been using this one for less than a week, and it's absolutely horrible. From Battery to RAM usage. It needs at least 400M RAM for normal use. I can't even watch a video without it stopping.
Normally, I use MRage V3 and I'm flashing it right now again because I can't stand this one..

[ROM][4.2.2][V4]S4 Rom Ormus-Res-Novae© is up and running. I flashed it yesterday and it went ok so far. I like it.
Of course now I use my phone only for call and text, nothing else so battery is No.1. I vote for the enhanced 2.3.8 for it. 3 -4 days for text and call. That's enough for me. But for something flashy and trendy, [ROM][4.2.2][V4]S4 Rom Ormus-Res-Novae© is a choice.
I really like this rom, because it is fast and smooth. But could you include the stock MIUI theme?
i'm already in the beta tester program ,anyone got Oreo stable update for BND-L21 (european version) ?
No i didn't get it yet ?
I got it 2 days ago. To tell you the truth i'm not impressed... One thing that i noticed is that Chrome runs a bit sluggish, weather app doesn't update. Ah, and scrolling smoothness is not that great. With Nougat i didn't have this issues, a could say it was perfect. I will wait another update and if it doesn't resolve this issues i will downgrade to Nougat...

Yes I did, but I noticed that the issue is not present (or at least not noticeable) if I reduce the duration of visual effects.
This can be done in developer settings, just go to the drawing section and scale all animations to 0.5

I can confirm that that did helped. Thank you.
I have issues with the volume. The animation dissapears and a reboot brings it back. Also, there is a new "beta" released of this version to some users. First they cancel beta then they release a stable beta? Weird.
"The Update will be through OTA only and will be with/without Changelog."
Soo....with changelog?

Automatic brightness seems to have a problem since this update. Coming off a night-time charge the screen will not adjust to daylight without intervention.

First, its not new - beta stable versions were released much earlier.
Its simple.
Beta rom is developer rom (weely/daily/whatever).
Stable rom is older beta build without some newest changes.
Stable beta is "stable" rom provided first to some random people to get feedback. If there is no any serious bug then the same build is shared for everyone and becomes "stable".
Yes. I know that. But they cancelled public weekly betas due to that a very few people actually reported bugs. So only public stable remains for our device. But then they go ahead an publish a public global stable "beta" to a few random users. This is what I think is odd.
Of course there is beta releases but they are not public anymore. Only closed betas. And closed devs.
Feedback probably is a mess. Some people always have "battery drain" no matter what or other "not" working things (which are working for everyone except one person). They wont do wipe data to try to fix this by self and probably in received feedback there will be much more complaints than praise (even if update is really good).
Beta stable is good idea (there will be less bricked devices) but I dont like the fact that I cant install update manually if I wasnt chosen to test and rom wasnt published on official forum (at least without twrp...)
Anyone rooted on this update yet? If so, what version of TWRP did you reflash after the update and what version of Magisk are you using?
Thanks!

I see me too im facing that problem my device is the global version but also i feel the animation system so laggy and it's so awful.
I suggest both of try a system reset. There is probably some resource draining app on your phones.
MIUI 12 works absolutely fine. There is an occasional stutter in the animation upon closing an app, but otherwise there is no slowness and the battery drain is about the same as MIUI 11
If that animation issue bothers you just use the Pocophone launcher instead of the stock launcher and it will work exactly like MIUI 11

Haven't noticed any difference after the upgrade.
Some xiaomi users reported less battery drain when using cellular data after installing blokada and using the xiaomi filter. If you're always connected, might as well try it.
On my device it was the "cell standby" (which was being used by radio services) that was draining the battery when the screen was off (especially at night). This issue didn't persist in older MIUI 12 beta builds and I was unable to fix or circumvent it by changing the network type. Seems to me as an ongoing issue for many MIUI 12 users. I've switched to EvoX for now and I like it.
Try this...
https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f2-pro/how-to/improving-battery-life-miui-12-t4139913/page1
I was having no problems with mine, but it seems even better now
Edit...
I did have one app, the Mi Bunny app to manage the Mi Bunny 4G watches, that didn't take the optimization well. Wouldn't log in or accept calls properly, but working normal again after a reinstall.
POCO Launcher 2.0 is available on the Google Play store.
I'm not sure that there is a path to downgrade to MIUI 11 if your phone was not already unlocked. You can unlock it but I'm not sure that there is a compatible alternative Recovery that will work, and I think the phone's own recovery will prevent you from downgrading.
Try asking on one of the other threads discussing unlocking and Roms.

well, you will have to dig around. miui roms arent that popular, so it might take a while. in the meantime, consider using a adb debloat tool to clean your tablet
Im using the same one as yours, global miui 13.0.4. i haven't any problem since the update launched (and also the best performance i've felt). Rather, it is the best one i've ever used compared to older versions.
And also the palm pressure works like a charm for some reason
Maybe try to factory reset or even re-flash the rom

Im using the same one as yours, global miui 13.0.4. i haven't any problem since the update launched (and also the best performance i've felt). Rather, it is the best one i've ever used compared to older versions.
And also the palm pressure works like a charm for some reason
Maybe try to factory reset or even re-flash the rom

Could you do a ufo test (https://www.tetufo.com/) to verify if your display shows stable 120hz?

Alright i've just tried some a couple of widget. I've found out that i can't resize it the moment i put it down, i need to move it somewhere first for the resize button to appear. (Tried it on both google's and miui's, i can resize it normally)

The MIUI in China has many interesting skills. However, it does not work very well outside China as it does not have any goggle apps at all and MIUI China has some ads.
