New blank motherboard needing bootloader - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo
I am planning to replace my Note 2 motherboard with a new motherboard. The board, when it arrives, will most likely be completely blank.
How do i install a bootloader so i can get to download mode and then use ODIN to flash a ROM? I don't have access to any methods other than what can run my PC?
Any info, links, advice, hints would be much appreciated.
thanks in advance

As far as I know, the motherboard should not arrive blank.
Where did you order the motherboard?

Ordered the motherboard from a Chinese Company

Good news it it at least the bootloader installed.

The motherboard is used so it should come with at least a bootloader.

new motherboard

hello,
i hard bricked my nexus and send it to a samsung partner for repair.
they told me that they changed the motherboard.
does that mean i get a phone without my old data? is everything gone?
do i have to unlock and root again?
Yes.
Flash is on the mobo, replace mobo = different flash.

Reusing a LG Bootloader unlock.bin token

So my LGG4 is off getting repaired due to the dreaded bootloop issue. Once I have it back I plan on unlocking the Bootloader and rooting again. I have heard issues whereby repaired G4's get the 'DeviceID unmatched' error when applying for a unlock token via the LG website. I understand you can contact LG to get this rectified; however I have found the email from LG I got when I first unlocked the Bootloader, with the unlock.bin file attached.
My question is: Should I run into any DeviceID issues during the unlocking procedure, can I reuse this file to unlock my Bootloader, or do I need to go through the process to get another re-sent? The email details a specific DeviceID so my initial thought is a No, but I did wonder (hope) this number is just used to generate a generic token that is matched via the IMEI? Any help much appreciated.

Lol only reason i knew is cause i came across sam prob a few times now as u can suspect. Ive never heard of any problems with anyone and lg doing this. Should be pretty straight foward. Call em. Might have to goto a higher level of tech service not sure
Im just assuming standard support level is not very supportive lol.
This depends on how they fix your device.
Carphone Warehouse in the UK fixed mine by swapping the mainboard to a 701,
They did not tamper with the IMEI or Device ID's on the replacement board and swapped the sticker under my battery cover to reflect the new details.
I did not need to contact LG as i just requested an unlock for the new IMEI and Device ID Pair.
Hope you get sorted

i was assuming lg done his i didnt even know aftermarket companys did the repair authorized of coarse
they had to pull the device id off of the old one and program it to the new one so technicly they did tamper with it
they may have been able to pull the info from the imei i dont know but my note 5s device id changes from rom to rom sometimes and i have to update it with the company who unlocked it so it holds same imei
just trying to wrap my head around how they got uree bootlooped devices id as it can be changed even if iemi stays the same

I got a new IMEI and Device ID and just went through the unlock proceedure again with this new info.
Thats what i meant by them not tampering with it, I got a new device with my old casing/screen.
They did not transfer my IMEI or Device ID to the new board.
CPW are authorised on behalf of LG to repair the device and since i bought it from them it was easier/safer for me to take it into a store.

Lol i see now.

Any means to repair the bricked MZP?

Using JTAG or USB jig? Is it possible? How much it will cost for JTAG or jig? I went to service centre and they said that motherboard needs to be replaced and that costs 200$ which I don't want to spend. Have anyone tried JTAG or jig?
JTAGs is no longer available in phones. There's no magic jig and it all depends on your issue. If you have bricked bootloader and phone is still detected as QDLoad 9008 etc then it should be possible by flashing blankflash files current or newer than your previous firmware. If it's not possible, then there are ISP points available on the board so any store who have hardware for reading/repairing eMMC should be able restore bootloader using that. Keep in mind that this requires to get the display out.

So is it worth it to repair eMMC or just send my phone to lenovo professionals?
If you find a decent shop that have the required hardware and will charge you less and this in fact is your problem, sure.

write imei on brand new motherboard

hi,
a few months ago my note2 stop working.
Neither switch on nor recovery mode.It was dead. A couple of weeks before i flash the cyanogen mod firmware and everything worked perfectly. At that moment i did a backup of efs and every part of the old original firmware. I try to recover but the only solution i found eas to buy a brand new motherboard from england. It arrived eithout imei. I try to reflash my old efs but there should be a check of the motherboard number and it didn't work. I would like to recover the phone. I know perfectly that procedures to write imei are not legal in my country because they are used to hide stolen mobile. But this is my phone, i can prove it, and I would not use the Samsung costumer service as it is too much expensive. Is there anybody that can suggest me where to find howtos on writong imei and resume my mobile?
Many thanks for the support.
I have never heard of a brand new motherboard not having an imei. Does the motherboard boot a stock Samsung ROM?

IMEI should be on new motherboard. Writing another IMEI onto a motherboard is illegal in some countries so we cannot allow this thread on XDA.
Contact the place you purchased the motherboard from.
