Require: Custom ROM development guide for OnePlus 5t - OnePlus 5T Questions & Answers

Hello there!
I've found quite a few threads on XDA for generic development. However, I couldn't find any threads for building a custom OnePlus Oxygen ROM from scratch in particular and there seems to be a lot of potential for the same. I'm basically looking to hire someone who can write a guide for the same. If not that, can anyone point me in the right direction and perhaps I might give it a try myself.

I'm not a developer but think this thread should have the tools you need. Ill bet any questions you might have we're already asked and answered. Good luck.

Problem installing any rom

i was installing a rom and i had some error.
Now i couldnt install any rom.
what i should to do?
please someone help me :/
look
look around the forum for threads about this problem. and it would help if you knew your error so you could search for that particular one.
The first thing you should do is to learn how to take notes so that you can provide information for others to try to help you. I would NOT attempt flashing any more roms until you have mastered that first step. Please understand that your installation of some unknown rom, and then receiving some sort of error message probably isn't going to get many meaningful answers from forum members.
The second thing you should do is read the wiki, and the rules of posting on these forums. The rules will point out the necessity of providing details, as noted in the first step, above. The wiki might explain things you needed to watch out for before you took your first steps to upgrade (maybe too late for them now, but who knows?).
Anyway, good luck with your dilemma. Hopefully, somebody who's got a working crystal ball will be able to provide some further assistance.

Also, dont install roms with vista. It works for some and not for others.
I have used Vista to flash ROMs all the time and never have any problems.

Problem is, I can't find any tutorials (or at least any valid links) to guides of this sort.

Sorry, cannot help with that.
It's in the "Guides, News, and Discussion" section. If you're having difficulties finding a straight forward guide listed on XDA, perhaps it is in your best interest not to customize at the moment in case you run into an issue and then end up not having a phone for hours to days due to not being able to find an answer.
Just looking out for you.

I too could not find a guide specifically on creating a ROM for the Pixel XL. I even searched, I was going to post a link for OP. Maybe the google AOSP page might help. It sucks that CyanogenMod is no longer around. They used to have good guides.
Here is a link the the AOSP tutorial. (not pixel XL specific) https://source.android.com/source/initializing
You will also need the vendor and driver file from https://developers.google.com/android/drivers
First - make sure your bootloader is unlocked - that should be an easy enough guide to find
then TWRP
then find a rom and read through the opening post and the recent ones.
though I'm sure i've found guides in general here for the pixel.
it IS a different beast to regular though. so get familiar with the sticky guides etc on the forum pages

[OS][CHANGES] How to push changes to device?!?

Hi guys,
This as probably been answered, however, I did not found anything related to my question.
I'm looking for the "How To" push code changes to my device? Let me explain my issue.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lineage/general/kb-article-troubleshooting-bluetooth-t3646969
I have this EXACT problem. In the thread, there are a couple of fixes to try, and some files... but I don't have a single clue about what to do with them, how to "install" those fixes on my LOS 15.1 Galaxy S7. Im guessing I need an app on my phone to run and apply the changes... but I didn't find exactly how to.
I'm an experienced Windows sys admin, but I'm a total N00b as when it comes to Android. Was able to install Lineage OS 15.1 to my S7 after a lot of trial and errors (I'm even ashamed to tell you guys about that).
I want to learn to exploit the maximum of my phone, but I gotta start by making it work normal again.
Can you help me with this? I'm totally lost as how I can solve my Bluetooth problem with the thread linked a little earlier!
Thank you SOOOOO much for every bit of help you could provide me.

I don't have this device but, your best bet is to post this question within the following LineageOS 15.1 thread that's specific to your device.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3710107
Another option is to post this question within the following Q&A thread that's specific to your device.

Good Luck!

Newbie just wants bloat wear off

I'm new to the forums and am interested in learning how to root my specific phone (mix 2) using my desk top. I have been browsing the forums and can't seem to find it. A link or anything really pointing me in the right direction would be nice. Also when I see stuff like this %USERPROFILE%\adb-fastboot on the linage os guide I find my self lost. And that's just the part where I'm getting my PC set up.
Help will be greatly appreciated!
I'm ready to learn!
Definitely read through the /r/xiaomi wiki, a lot of basic knowledge is covered in there. https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/wiki/index
