I have recieved new update with April security patch.... Doesnt say much else
I can confirm this too. I've got the update. April secruity patch but nothing more. I thought it would be a fix for the overlapping navigation bar and icon dock on the home screen, but that's no go too.
Well, at least Huawei is pushing updates!
Me too

I can confirm that I received it too today.
As for your nav-bar issue, for me I just went for factory reset and the overlapping issue was solved, but that was the hard way.
I read here that if you fiddle with the resolution (as far as I recall, set it to WQHD [default] and then come back to your preferred resolution, or else just turn on smart resolution and turn it off again, or if you're using WQHD already, choose a different resolution and then come back to it again- something of these sorts) you can fix it the easy way. I personally haven't tried though of course. I couldn't find the thread link to post here. Sorry. :/

Hi, every time I write a screen off memo it will not show on the AOD screen. Instead will go directly into a icon. If I tap twice the icon will appear for a brief time and then go back as icon.
The time it will stay on the screen will not be combined with the date/time.
Anyone has the same? Is it a problem of the settings or csc?
Tks

Yes, same here - direct to icon. I saw review videos where the screen off memo actually remains on the display along with the always-on screen. I tried every combination (i think) of always-on display and lockscreen notification settings, but never found a way to get it to stay.
On those same videos, by the way, the main settings screen looked very much like the one of the Note 5 and not at all like Grace UX, which is what i have. So i wonder if there are different software versions out there with some serious differences.
Maybe csc related ? mine is XSG.

If you go into the always on display settings and then about it should show you an update is available. After this is downloaded it is now working correctly.
Not sure why this did not ship on the phone or they make the update more obvious.

I didn't get an update prompt, but this helped me. I opened galaxy apps and looked for updates there. sure enough, there was, and installing it fixed it. All good now!

i didn't check that, but Galaxy App pushed an update of Always-on Display yesterday, and indeed now it works the way it should
Thanks. Update worked. I was wondering why it wasn't working.
Update,
It is caused by many different apps, all very useful.
Cycling recent apps ( square key) frees up landscape.
Annoying behavior, a power button screen cycle resets. Anyone else notice this?
It happens in different apps. VZW phone on latest FW.
BTW I am trying to find a rotation helper app that can force 0* and 90* rotation only. Not 270* while 180* is normally excluded. Anyone?
This is missing the mark.

I think it is an incompatibility with many apps.
@aviwdoowks Did you make any progress in getting better screen rotation response? I was using NOVA launcher, and found I hadnt checked off "auto-rotate" under the NOVA settings.

I like notification toggles. It and others do not allow 0* and 90* only auto. But on the Z it is not such a bother as the Maxx.
The bug seems to be nearly all gone. ... I did take the Dec patch. Now I have OTA disabled, on my dash 1
Look at pic, I think it is my favorite UC browser causing the stick!
I Doooo not want to uninstall it.
I have confirmed from many others that the new July brings up some improvements but also an annoying bug that glitches the animation when you rotate the screen from landscape to portrait.
Now I'm curious if we can do anything to fix this diy or we need to wait for Xiaomi to fix this ... next month.
What I tried until now:
-Enable developer option and mess with animations speed - no improvement, animations go slower, faster but the black screen glitch still remains
-Messed up with 3d and hardware acceleration in developer options - no improvement
-Narrowed down the glitch to the launcher since while outside the launcher the animation continues after a black screen appears and while in launcher the wallpaper blinks with no black screen.
-Tried installing aftermarket launcher and disabling the stock launcher ... but the stock launcher cannot be stopped and disabled
-After a 2nd launcher the bug still persist
-Reset the stock launcher and wipe cache and data - no improvement
-Reset System UI - no improvement
What else is there? How can we fix this OCD inducing glitch?
Hi,
I understand that this bug can be very annoying for those who often watch videos or use landscape mode apps.
But honestly I doubt there could be an easy fix (without root and customizing program)
So I'm afraid we will have to live with it at least until next update...

I think there COULD be a solution, not sure tho. I am just curious what could cause the glitch, what process, or what app.
Maybe there could be someone knowing how the inner works of the system work, or what exactly did the OTA modified. Maybe the bug could be fixed by a simple data deletion. I don't know...
Hello.
I don't like animations, so I disabled it all. Maybe this will be usefull for you, at least as alternative solution until an update solve the problem.
Go to Settings -> Acessibility -> Turn off animations
Maybe the names are different for you, but I hope you can find it.

Even with animation off, the screen still blinks black when rotating from landscape to portrait. That's the bug, not the animation.
worst update ever [emoji35][emoji35]
I wonder if before release the update to public the developers testing it..

Maybe the result was unexpected. You know why I posted this? I was hoping that someone installed a fresh copy of the full ROM on a blank device and... the problem is not there. The update maybe conflicting with something in the already configured system. Idk...
Hi, this morning I received a notification of a new system update, release 62.1.A.0.617.
Wasn't able to find any info on the web, so I'll wait for a while before proceeding to update my Xperia.
Do someone have news?
Ciao!
Updated today, can't see any difference so far, other than the security patch level, which is now July 1, 2022.
Dito. No (new) bugs so far.
I had one problem so far - home screen now shows one row of apps less than before the bottom ones just disappeared to my confusion.
@De Greedy same experience here, before the update, my 5x9 app drawer would fit on one screen, now i have to scroll to see the last row.
I used the default display size and font size from settings before and after the update.

Right after the update the phone started acting weirdly, graphics were not smooth but kind of jumping, the wifi was off and couldn't turn it on, notifications history always crashed, but this all were fixed after multiple restarts. However, the software update history only shows previous two updates, but not the current one, despite the fact that software was actually updated (based on quick settings menu version number, checking for updates, security update date, and baseband number).
I've been using it for four days now. Haven't noticed anything bad so far.
I confirm that the spacing between the icons on the screen and in the app drawer changed a little, rows are more separated. Not a big deal for me.
The last update appears regularly in the history.
No other issues at the moment.
edit: there are new emojis

does everyone know how to change UI Color?
To my knowledge, you can't choose, it follows the main color of the desktop image.
Unless you install a different launcher(!)
Haven't seen this discussed here. Since A13, whenever i reboot, Material You color resets. I haven't found many others talking about it, but, in this redit, google says it is working as intended.

Write your feedback, get this changed. Material You is about fitting our style; we shouldn't have to apply that style every reboot.
Heh...I'd be THRILLED if I could just 'turn off' material you completely!! I'm just fine with my wallpapers and icon kits...M.Y. drives me insane...I hate it! /end rant

I have this issue. I was checking out the color palettes yesterday as I didn't bother with Material You's color scheming ever since I updated to 13, and after a few hours later, I rebooted(because recents keeps breaking on me for some reason still), and my color palette went back to its original selection.
Same issue here on my Pixel 6. I am using Nova Launcher so I thought it was related to that. I have tried the latest Nova beta but still no luck.
Ended up doing a reset and clean flash(again) a few days ago, haven't had the problem since.
I just found this https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/239706062
Google claims there is a fix that " will become available in a future Android release"
I finally gave up and 'solved' the problem by changing my lockscreen image to one that defaults to colors I like
I have the same issue on my 6Pro with the stock launcher.
So far so good the December 2022 update seems to have squashed this bug
