I've been having this issue, where, when I'm playing music through a Bluetooth device, I hear a lot of Stuttering. I thought maybe it was because I had a cheap mpow device, but I've since upgraded, and the problem persists. I don't experience it when using my wife's iPhone 6. I'm running marshmallow on the att variant. I've already factory reset, and even tried several apps to see if that's the problem. Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a solution? It's very frustrating.

I thought it was just me but I'm experiencing the same thing too. Strangely a couple of weeks ago it was fine when I streamed music to my Himbox HB01 Plus, no stuttering whatsoever, however I purchased some Bluetooth headphones last week - AKG Y50bt used them for a week and returned them, the Bluetooth was too unstable. I would be listening to music fine and then I could get my phone out of my pocket and the stuttering would start, very frustrating!
I sent those back and purchased a pair of Sony Mdr 10rbt Bluetooth headphones and these do the same, I thought I was going made I was thinking maybe this is what happens with Bluetooth headphones, but it wasnt until I used my phone in my car again last night and the Himbox was far too unstable I had to switch the radio on.
I'm not sure why this has just happened, I've had this device for two weeks now, my first device was exchanged because the earpiece became faulty after 2 weeks; I'm contemplating sending this back now, however everything about the phone is great...

I upgraded to the himbox. The audio quality is great, but my Bluetooth stutter issue is awful. It makes listening to anything impossible. I love the phone too. It has lots of great qualities, but I would recommend taking it back. I would if I could. I'm even contemplating selling it at a loss, and buying a moto x play.

Agreed audio quality is excellent, better though with a Ground loop isolation connected. The shutter is very frustrating and also very strange because it's only just started happening with the himbox. I have just under two weeks to return it, if I can't find a fix for the Bluetooth then I think I will send it back. Moto X Play looks decent enough, pretty reasonable prices to, though I might go for the Sony Xperia Z5.
I got the Samsung level U headset and it seems tbat they stutter when there's too many apps open and the phone is trying to free up memory. That's how it seems to me. I might be wrong though.

That's interesting to know, I'll give it a test and see if it makes any difference... I hope so because it is really baffling nothing has changed and it's suddenly just happening!

So I'm currently streaming music with the Tidal app via Bluetooth to my Canton soundbase, I first tried it and was getting constant stuttering, I then cleared my apps down and tried again and no stuttering this time until I opened up a couple of apps and it started again. I repeated the test with my Sony headphones and got the same...
I then restarted my phone and tried again and so far (touch wood) I'm streaming music via Bluetooth and browsing apps on my phone and no stuttering... Bizarre!!
I know this problem. There is no solution for that. Deal with it. I had to.
The issue is radio interferance.

I thought that until I completed my test earlier, it is not radio interference.
It seems like its more of a software issue not hardware.
Bumping because this is driving me nuts. I don't think I had it before the 6.0 update. Has anyone tried clearing cache, factory reset, etc. to see if it solves the issue? What version is everyone using? I'm using the T-Mobile version.

Since the latest update, I've been having the same issue. Same WiFi and headset (Sound peats).
Solution: The consistent solution for me when it gets unbearable has been to clean the bluetooth cache and restart the device.

Hi I've done all of those things. Nothing works. Only thing that seems to work briefly is clearing all open apps while playing music over Bluetooth. Very frustrating.
I'm on the Verizon version, and the same thing appeared on my phone this week. Last week it streamed music fine to my MPOW, but this week is stutters so much it can not be listened to.
Every day I drive through an area where the cell signal is VERY intermittent, and it seems to to stutter when the cell connects or disconnects. It also stutters when I use my Motorola Sliver.

Have you tried closing all open apps but the one you're currently using? I've found this helps for the most part. This is such a frustrating issues that is making me regret switching to Android in the first place. Quality control on these phones is terrible. You just never know what you're going to get.

Yeah, that helps sometimes. But honestly, we shouldn't have to do that. I owned iPhones for years before switching to Android last year. I never had to restart it for anything.

If I don't re start my computer every once in a while, i end up paying for it. Windows 98? had a bug that would give you a BSOD on the 91?st day. Some timer/counter got to 2^16 +1 and caused an overflow.

Hi, I'm having the same issue with my TMO G4 after having it serviced for the bootloop bug. LG installed MM and BT streaming stutters with Pandora and Google Play Music, while using my car's BT, BlackBerry Music Gateway or Plantronics headphones. I read on a forum that turning off Google Now Voice recognition in ALL SCREENS helped, so i am trying it. It surely has helped a lot in my first day of testing (today), and will try and test more and provide feedback.
Good luck!

Tasker or a similar app set to rebooting the phone at a convenient time and frequency may help in forgetting to do this manually.
Same issue with S7 Edge and Sumsung Level U Pro. Anyone any ideas/fix?
I exchanged my T-Mobile LG G4 for a brand new Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and it has no issues with Bluetooth streaming so far. It has Marshmallow 6.01 with the latest security updates installed.
Hiya folks,
Just wondering if anybody has been experiencing random reboots on the OP3. Have been experiencing em on 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 about twice a day since I got the phone four days ago. Tried a cache wipe/hard reset but to no avail. Haven't been able to reproduce the reboots. Just happen at completely random times, while writing an email, making a call, or connecting to the car Bluetooth. Phone is perfectly responsive and stable otherwise!
Have asked Amazon for a replacement, but I'm wondering if this is something that's been noticed by anybody else. No mods done, completely stock. Running dual sims (Vodafone and Jio VoLTE).
Attaching a screenshot of how the battery page shows the reboots.
Yeah, they happen for me periodically. Not nearly as often as yours though. Mine is maybe once or twice a week max. But yes, slightly annoying.
Phone is completely stock, locked, unrooted. Running 3.2.2.

Haven't had a single random reboot yet, had the phone for about a month now. Started with 3.1.3, then 3.2.1, now 3.2.2, rooted, running xposed (not a lot of modules).
What are you doing when the reboots happen (an app issue)?

It's been all over the place, but often when the screen was actually off! The way I would know would be I'd pick up the phone and see that it asks for the PIN post reboot. If it helps, I've enabled encryption. I also have a work (exchange) email account set up as a device admin
I know there's ways of investigating this with logcats and last_kmsg, but I've had the phone 4 days and I cant imagine why it's spontaneously rebooting while doing literally nothing. Seeing as hardly anybody has had similar reboots (on XDA/OnePlus forums), could this be a hardware issue at all? I could possibly try reflashing the entire phone, but that would essentially be the same as a wiping data/cache, right?
Here's an idea - my LTE data/VoLTE is extremely spotty (on Reliance Jio which is in a beta test stage) - disconnects and connects VERY frequently, could that be triggering reboots at the baseband level? Now throwing ideas at the wall!

Mine had random reboot issues recently on a trip. It only seemed to happen when I was using Google navigation combined with listening to music on my bluetooth headphones. I haven't tried that combination since the trip and haven't had any reboots since then.

same issue
the reboots are random, and i could only know that the phone has rebooted itself if it ask for a pin upon scanning finger, went to service center and has OS flashed, but the problem still persist, for me some time when the phone hangs, some kind of pixels form on the screen, attaching a sample photo for reference, anybody experiencing this issue or am i the only one, and today the phone has completely stopped working, it is not switching on.

Wow that is substantially worrying, and almost certainly not just a software issue I reckon. Try getting a replacement maybe? - or atleast ask the service folks for a mainboard replacement. Anybody else with reboot issues?
Doesn't really seem to be an OS bug, unless it happens in very niche use cases which I don't have anyway! Getting the replacement on Tuesday, fingers crossed for that one!
My friend and I both got a one plus 3. He does not have this problem but I have.
The reboot is random but usually happens during charging. Sometimes it even turns off.
I have tried to ask for a replacement but they rejected me. Still communicating with the support staffs

I experienced a similar scenario twice, only seems to happen on long trips, 3+ hours. I was using Waze with Plex streaming audio over car Bluetooth. I have not had this on shorter trips, 1-2 hours. I'm typically plugged into the dash car charger. Otherwise, haven't had issues. Never rooted 3.2.2.
Situation Update
Got the replacement OP3 on August 9. Have now seen 2 random reboots since. Once while paired to the car Bluetooth, once after finishing a call.
I have till August 19 to decide whether to keep this device or ask for replacement number two! Overall, the reboot situation is a lot better on this device, but I can't help wonder - why any at all?
Seems at this point to either be a bug with the Bluetooth implementation AND/OR with the dual SIM functionality where repeated switching between SIMs for every call. (I use one SIM for calls and texts, another for data)
Can anyone confirm the situation on a custom ROM as opposed to stock? I'm running stock 3.2.2
Aaaaand now we have an ota claiming to fix 'auto-reboot issues' - 3.2.4
The reboots were so sparsely documented compared to the other stuff that I ended up getting a replacement for a s/w issue!
Anyway - you folks reboot free now? Post results with 3.2.4 please
I had three back to back random reboots while using Google Maps and Amazon Kindle in the background. Weird.
I've yet to have a random reboot on 3.2.4

Agree. It happens only when I drive with gmaps running on background. When the screen times out, the phone, instead of shutting down the display, goes to hard reboot.
I've never had this issue until I moved to the latest update. Weird. Annoying.
I had my first reboot a few hours ago (with 3.2.4). I was connected to Bluetooth in my Car. Noticed it, as my car told me that mein Phone is now connected. No gmaps or something with GPS runinng.
Looks like Bluetooth is the Problem.
Anyone else have the issue of their phone restarting when using Google Maps? The phone also happens to be plugged into Dash Car Charger as well.
Yes it has happened to me a few times.... Knock on wood I haven't had any issues recently. I used tasker to setup a profile so when I use my nav apps (maps, waze, etc) it turns off Bluetooth and sets the location mode to gps/device only vs. high accuracy. Not sure if there's any correlation, but I've gone about 1 week with no issues. I use waze to and from work daily.

Happened to me a few days after upgrading to OOS 3.2.2. On a secondary highway in mountains where signal was spotty. Have a feeling it was related to loss of LTE/4G signal while in maps.

I can also say this happened to me. Everytime it did happen I just so happened to "switch" over to edge network. After using data on the other sim, which has better coverage, it didn't happen.
Tested using one carrier sim on way up, and other carrier sim on way down. I was also using Bluetooth streaming Pandora the entire time each way. It never happened before oos 3.2.2, only Pandora would cut out when hitting the edge network.

I've had this happen as well, but only when my phone has been plugged into a charger in my car.. it's possible that it has been shutting down thinking that something was going wrong with charging?

Yeah...especially since even if you have a fingerprint lock, you still have to enter your password after a reboot. OOS 3.2.4 fixed some of these issues, at least according to the change log. But I mostly use custom ROMs (Resurrection Remix at the moment), so I haven't tested OOS 3.2.4 yet.
Edit: well, never mind about 3.2.4 fixing the issue:

You know, there is actually another thread about this, if you dig around the Q&A section. Now, several people said they thought random rebooting is a hardware issue. The thing is, I get random reboots too, but it only happens while driving, BT connected, Pandora playing, and navigation going. Outside that one particular scenario, I have never had a random reboot. I don't call myself an expert, but that doesn't sound like a hardware failure to me if it only happens under one (very particular) set of circumstances.

agree. i tried to make this problem reoccured at home (meaning bt on; played music over the bt; maps on) -- no restarts.
smthng telling me it's related to gps. BUT i haven't had this problem before 3.2.4 update.
i only hope the OP team will take a deep look into this.
me too, while using Android Auto (so the phone is plugged in and charging, and connected by bluetooth, if it matters)
once it starts it will repeatedly reboot every few minutes.
If I close maps and clear cache it seems to help.
So what do we do?
I have the same restarting problem, using Waze as satnav and gps,on non Dash charger in car, and with 3.2.4 update. What can we do to get Oneplus to take this problem seriously?
I have exactly the same set up and exactly the same problem: Waze, OxygenOS 3.2.4, with or with out charger in the car.
This problem only started yesterday. On my 1 hour commute last night the phone restarted 5 time. On the 1 hour commute this morning it rebooted 5 times in 30 mins before I gave up and drove without it.
Anyone found a fix for this?
Maps running without issues
Maps ver9.36.1

Has anyone been experiencing their bluetooth turning off on its own since the MNF26U update? I've tried re-flashing the factory image and doing a factory reset, but the problem still exists.
I've had the same persistent issue also as of recently. Only things that use on Bluetooth is my Hauwei Watch and State Farm Drive Safe beacon. I haven't figured out what is causing the issue.

FWIW: I've had no Bluetooth issues. Only things I use it for are connecting to my two cars for phone, and Android Auto (which uses USB and Bluetooth connection).
I am also experience this same issue. Seems when I get in my car I have to toggle my BT back on. I am using a Samsung Gear S3 with my Pixel XL.

Ever since I got the Gear S3, my Bluetooth will restart every single time I disconnect my Bluetooth headphones. It also never routes calls through my headsets unless I go into Bluetooth settings and uncheck and then recheck the phone audio option of those headphones every time I reconnect them. I've tried maybe 6 different BT headsets and it's the same case with all of them.
I have been having this issue since NMF26U as well. NOF26V actually seems even worse. It doesn't go off immediately upon connection or disconnecting from my car, but then randomly wile the BT lite will disappear while it is disconnected from any devices. Toggling it back on works as does a reboot that comes back on with BT activated even though it was off when rebooting. Hard to believe after this many updates that BT issues continue to be an issue with this phone.
Probably background tasks are getting killed aggressively. Despite being "not battery optimized", my VPN app gets killed too, if I don't touch my phone for too long. E.g. at night. And yes, I'm facing Bluetooth issue too.
Strange, Bluetooth hasn't turned off since my first post. ?

I've had this issue and I'm not on the latest firmware. It's happened twice now. Very random, a week between. Maybe it was an update with the Google app, I've noticed a bunch of updates recently
I am having the same issue. The only thing I use my bluetooth for is my car. I have to turn it back on everyday when I start my commute.
I think I found a work around....

This suddenly started happening to me as well and at first I thought it was my Moto 360 watch going bad since it kept displaying "Bluetooth Services has Stopped". After looking I noticed my Bluetooth was off on my pixel and here is what I did after learning a similar experience from my Camera shutting down on my old Nexus 6.
I went under Settings/Battery/Click the 3 dots in top right corner and select "Battery Optimization"/Then select the little drop down arrow next to "Not Optimized" and select "All Apps"/ Scroll down to "Bluetooth MDI Services" and Bluetooth Share". I selected both of them to "Not be Optimized" but you can play around and select one or the other to see if it works for you. Since I selected both my watch has stayed connected now for about 2 days straight and my Bluetooth stays connected and connects automatically like I've set up to my car and other devices. It also works and stays on when my phone goes into "do not disturb mode" also....
I'm not saying this is the "fix" for it but it seems to be working for me....
I hope this will work for you guys and helps!

Yeah I would be very curious if it works for you as well and hopefully it does. I was getting very frustrated with it but since I changed those settings it seems to be working fine now and I haven't really noticed any difference in battery performance either.... If you don't mind, keep me posted as I'm curious. Thanks!
Had the Bluetooth turn off on my XL before even entering my car (but I didn't see it happen except when I was about to get in the car and noticed no BT indicator). This was approximately an hour after a reboot and no BT devices had been paired though the indicator was on for some period after the reboot. Pretty hard to believe it was an optimization issue since I had run no apps after the reboot. While typing this, the BT icon disappeared again. Add this to getting a Verizon "Server Unreachable" error on my wife's Pixel yesterday and my XL this morning that both needed reboots to remedy. My frustration with this phone is pretty bad today. Both are unlocked BL, rooted with newest SU, running newest TWRP and newest Google version but otherwise stock. P.S. When you see about 4 Google play updates a day for about 2 weeks (with not very many apps installed other than the base) it is hard to guess what my be causing the issue. OK, rant over.
BT has definitely been a PITA since the latest security update. It's completely ruining the music experience on a car I bought days before the update came out. Since the update I constantly have to toggle bluetooth on then off again to get the phone to connect to the car. Then I have to open Google Play Music and start playback manually. This happens several times a day and is very annoying. Had not a single issue before the update.
I am having issues with Bluetooth disconnecting as well. Was bad on previous build but this most recent update, NOF26V build, is worse. I connect to my truck, watch, and speaker system in home and office. Happens randomly without notice. I have tried to test the "do not distrub" theory, after reboot, etc., so far I have not figured out a root cause or time.
Trying the optimized thing for the heck of it. I noticed that only share was listed and not MDI services. I wonder if that is only available on Google phones and not Verizon somehow or only shows if the BT is connected to the device, but I'm not in the car to check.
I too have a gear 3 frontier and since then I have to reconnect my pixels bluetooth, pretty much once everyday. very frustrating lol
Same BT problem
I have been having the same issue with BT switching itself off for about a week now. Never had any BT issues prior to that. Mine is a Verizon Pixel XL. I noticed it when it wouldn't connect to my car, but I quickly discovered that was because BT was off on the phone. I always leave BT on, so I knew something was funky and paid close attention after that. Once I turn it back on it connects to everything just fine and it stays on for the duration of me using it at that time. But when I go to use it the next time, it is off again. It can be a variable length of time in between when I use it, so I don't know how soon it turns off, but it has to be within just a few hours. This pattern suggests to me that something is turning it off, perhaps to save battery, if it goes without being used for a certain time period. I did not knowingly turn on any setting that does that, so it makes sense that an update changed something. I have not tried the workaround/fix mentioned above; I will do it and report back.
Hey all,
I have an annoying issue since the Pie update and wondering if anyone else has the same problem and knows a fix. So, since the Pie update I have noticed that whenever listening to audio (doesn't matter what app) using a 3.5mm set of headphones or AUX in my car that when I do any task on the phone such as unlock the screen, lock the screen, press the home button, open the app drawer, close the app drawer, slide the notifications pane down, basically anything I get a very quick stutter in the audio. It is very annoying and I cannot figure out why it's doing it. Is anyone else experiencing this since the Pie update? It never did it prior to Pie. Thanks guys.

I noticed that but it was caused by my bluetooth trying to connect to the radio.. In my AMG GT R I keep getting the stuttering too but it seems to stop when I turn the bluetooth off. The radio actually wasn't even connected to the bluetooth at the moment which I thought was weird and kind of confused me but then I realized that I had my obd scanner plugged in because I was doing some pulls and checking out some of the sensors, fuel trims and the boost so I don't know if it was from that being connected or what but it still caused the music to stutter. I'm planning on going back to Oreo anyway all this sh!t isn't worth this trouble just for Pie..

That's weird then.. I can't stand pie.
No issues with using the audio jack on my phone. Though I did do a factory reset after I got pie, that helped a lot of minor issues.

What else don't you like about it? The only thing for me is that I have to manually set my Notifications to My Phone instead of my bluetooth every time I connect it. That one is just stupid. Most people don't go through the day with their BT Ear Buds stuck in their ears all the time

Well the one thing I used my phone for the most was music during workouts and jogs and I used to only have to turn the music only half way up but it's like a whisper at half way up now and the further I turn it up the worse the sound gets and then like one or 2 steps before maximum volume it just cuts out completely no sound and the bluetooth sounds like crap in the car now it's actually better if I just put the music in the cars radio storage instead. The phones battery also doesn't seem to make it the entire day anymore and it did before the update. I also have to keep going into settings and changing the default USB connection setting otherwise it doesn't like connecting to the computer anymore unless I switch it from MTP to charging and back again. I suppose a factory reset would fix most of the issues maybe but I have no interest in doing that and having to re-set everything back up. Oh and the notification problem you have I have also and yeah that one's unbelievably stupid!!

You might want to try that Reset, because my volume is really good and even going past the volume warning, it stays clear. I don't have bluetooth in my Truck so I Can't test that one, but I will agree battery is worse. I whole day without charging at work - I use my phone for work, btw, and I'm down to about 35%. On Oreo I'd be closer to 50%. And the computer connect, I don't have to change MTP, but I DO have to toggle Debugging on and off most times

You know what else I noticed since you said something about the volume warning? I don't get that warning anymore either. Not even after a reboot because I have the phone set up to reboot itself 4 times a week at 4am in the morning. Is that volume warning still even on the phones anymore?
I still get the volume warning on Bluetooth at least.

I still get it after a reboot or connecting to a different device, like from my BT to my surround system.
Maybe you should try to flash it again?? Clear and backup everything, do a factory reeset, then flash it
