Problem with OTA update android oreo 8.0 (Soft brick from failed OTA update) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S8+ Questions & Answers

Hi, i tried updating my android phone with the latest security patch from TMobile. I was on Android 8.0 and when i went to update it, the phone restarted and now i get the message.
"Security Error: This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software * is locked. Call your mobile operator for additional support. Please note that repair/return for this issue may have additional cost."
The problem is i have never flashed this phone whatsoever. i did obtain it via a warranty exchange and udpated it from android 7.0 to android 8.0 and it worked fine. I am not sure why this happened.
Anyway, i tried downloading the ODIN firmware file for 8.0 from the updateto website
Specifically: htt ps:/ /updato.com /firmware-archive-s elect-model?rec ord=EEDFC92B2E0611E89F15FA163EE8F90B (get rid of spaces)
But it only contains the March 20th, 2018 firmware file (which i believe is the original 8.0)
because i had updated past that i need a more recent odin flashable firmware.
When i try to flash the CRB9 firmware i usually get error (abl) Fused 3 > binary 2 or (bootrom) fused 2 > binary 1
I believe my problem is i am attempting to downgrade the OS version. So i need a more updated ODIN firmware file.
i looked at this url
htt p://fota-clou d-dn.ospserver. net/firmware/T MB/SM-G955U/versio n.test.x ml (get rid of spaces)
and found that the latest firmware is G955UOYN3CRD9/G955USQU3CRD9
Does anyone know where i can get this odin firmware file so i can reflash my phone and get it working again?

Which firmware you are on?
There's U3CRD4 update available to download.

i was on android oreo. Thankfully T-mobile said it was under warranty and replaced my phone!

Note 5 firmware and baseband mismatch

Hello everyone,
A little while ago I purchased a note 5 and I kept getting a knox unauthorized access warning...so I downloaded the knox status app and noticed that the firmware and baseband were different (see attached photo) I've even attempted an OTA update and also through smart switch (OTA failed and the later shows as up to date) what do I do
There's a way to flash back to PB2 using ODIN. You'll have to find the 4 files you need, plus ODIN to flash them. Do you know how to use Odin?
I haven't been on here in quite a while so I don't remember exactly which thread they're in. I may have them saved on my computer but I'll have to look. I don't mind sharing them if I still have them.

Just flash the BP3 bootloader one since it says 2 right now.. This will solve the problem just download the BP3 firmware and extract the boot.img and flash it through odin.
I do see that he has an eng kernel though and I think maybe @TechNyne66 would be interested in looking at that.
I'm still running OGG bootloader as far as I know. Just flash marshmallow from odin. Forget about OTA, it sucks and causes problems.

N930V can't downgrade/flash any rom lower than ver.3, stuck in download mode X(

Hi guys,
I'm stuck with my note 7, n930v in download mode because I can't flash any firmware.Everytime when I am trying to flash this one N930VVRS1APH1 or N930VVRS2APHE I'm getting the same error in download: SW. Rev. CHECK FAIL: fuse 3 binary x, where x=1 for PH1 and x=2 for PHE.
What can I/we do when we are facing this problem? I am searching for a rev.3 firmware since 6 days, I will probably incinerate this phone finally if there is no solution to download that firmware. What exactly is this stupid sw.revision and why can't be bypassed....:| ?
However, is there anyone here who have any idea with that? Thank you !!
Cheers
I encountered the same problem. Any one can help us? Please!
Up??
You've updated your bootloader to revision 3. This is the same across all current samsung devices. You won't be able to downgrade to a revision 1 or 2 firmware now. Not unless you unlock the bootloader somehow.
I saw this thread in the forums: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...nbrick-verizon-note-7-matter-how-bad-t3467085
He used the Verizon Repair Assistant tool to make the device download the latest firmware from Verizon Servers. Maybe that will work if you can't find a Binary 3 Firmware. I mean I did a search on google for N930VVVRS3 firmware and got zero results.
I also found this Binary 3 Firmware File here in the forums:
AP_N930VVRS3APL2_CL8720001_QB11952598_REV00_user_l ow_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta.tar
I found this thread from GSM-Firmware showing an official VZW Binary 3 Firmware link: http://forum.gsm-firmware.com/showt...B11952598_REV00_u-ser_low_ship_MULTI_CERT-tar
Flashing that will downgrade your aboot version. Once that is fully installed and has booted up once, try flashing just the AP file from a binary 2 or binary 1 firmware, doing a factory reset from recovery immediately after flash before letting it fully boot. It worked on my AT&T Note 5 to get Rooted 5.1.1 running again after I had updated my bootloader too far. Although that might be a shot in the dark using Official VZW firmware.
You will want to get the 3APL1 Combination file or another Binary 3 Combo for N930V. And then try to flash a binary 1 or 2 AP file only. Don't flash a binary 1/2 BL or CP file. If you get the AP file to flash, then you can flash the CSC file.

Trouble installing stock firmware on samsung galaxy a5 2017 sm-a520f

I was trying to root my samsung galaxy a5 2017 with TWRP and I accidentally deleted system data. Then, I tried rebooting the phone and it got stuck in a bootloop. To fix this problem I tried flashing stock 8.0 firmware from sammobile via odin and I got this error:
Sw rev. Check fail. Device: 6, binary 5. I think that this means I have to flash the latest stock firmware but there isn't a newer one.
After that, I tried to use my phone by flashing a custom rom (Lineage 15.1) and I discovered that I have no imei,no baseband and no ip adress. I have installed many custom roms but the issue is still there. I am trying to get my phone to work with stock firmware and fix the IMEI issue but odin wont let me flash because of that error. I would appreciate if anyone could help. Thanks.
Flash a firmware version that contains S6 or U6 in the middle, it won't work with U5/S5! Not the Samsung phone S5 or S6, but rather, the firmware version.
For cellular, change the modem firmware, or backup and wipe /data/. /data/data/?.
Unless the efs was wiped (probably not if the baseband version isn't there, load a backup then, only if the efs was wiped don't restore it otherwise, and it must not be a backup created with an older twrp, view the recovery log in the backup folder)

Listen to me, it happened to me 2 days ago, and I came to the conclusion that I was not flash the latest firmware. You need to flash the same firmware with the same bootloader or more recent, the error you receive is because you are flashing an older version of bootloader. Do one thing, type the code *#1234# on the phone keypad
mark the code that gives you on 'AP and look it on Sammobile at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-a5/SM-A520F/ITV/ select your language and look for the firmware with your own code . You will see that odin flash it.
Samsung A520F Custom Binary Error
Hello please I have been trying to reload my Samsung A520F firmware for a couple of weeks
It all started with the phone trying to update (over WIFI) and somewhere along the line files must have gotten corrupted
This led to the phone constantly restart and shutting down applications
I decided to just download the firmware and use Odin to reload. This, unfortunately, didn't go so well as now the phone isn't starting up anymore but can still get to download mode.
PDA firmware is A520FXXUACSE6
Region is EUR
Network is OPEN
every time I use this firmware I get the error
" Custom binary (BOOT) Blocked by FRP Lock
Please note currently at the moment phone refuses to boot up I read about removing OEM lock and don't know if this is the problem.
Please could you help out

Obviously you are frp locked. But I didn't think that blocked from flashing official.

I put the CSC_OMC instead of HOME_CSC. Which wipes everything.
You should if you used CSC
Check in Settings > About phone > Software Information > Service Provider SW ver.
If it says the same CSC for the first 2 you will get OTAs for that CSC
For example mine is XEU/XEU/O2U
I will get OTA for XEU

if a wipe in recovery doesnt fix it then reflash in odin
and I think you must download a new firmware because this one is possible corrupted... I have the same problem the first day when I just received my phone...
Looks like different bootloaders also. Once got ver 1 while other got ver 2.
Update:
I ended up just downloading the firmware pack available in the guides section. Unpacked it, (no restart since I couldnt pull the battery as even power cycling came back to this same page), setup odin and it worked.
The original firmware pack was from Samfirm, which pulled the firmware based on what I entered.

The old firmware on the device was V1, but the new firmware that caused the error was v2. Was that a requirement when upgrading? I thought the modem firmware was only an issue when trying to downgrade?
The unlocked guide firmware i believe is v1 so going forward, if anyone has this issue and googles this, hope it helps!
