Dimensions are all within .5 mm between the 2 devices. Did anyone try?
Why use a P20 case on a P20 lite, when the first has the fingerprint sensor in the display?
You'll end up with a case without access to the fingerprint sensor in the back
(Changed the word "using" for "use" because I forgot how to write properly)
because nowadays no one use fingerprint..
yeah i want to know if it fits on p20 lite, did u try?

Our Huawei P20 Lite has 5.84 inches, 85.1 cm2(squared)
The Huawei P20 has 5.8 inches, 84.9 cm2(squared)
It could well fit, just try it with a cheap one and if doesn't fit just return it

Someone used anu kind of selfie stick? And what kind of model?
seriously?
I didnt expect such question on XDA forum...
But without laughing from that question, I can say, that: ANY selfi-stick will work with ANY device, including P9.
Starting from cheap Chinese ones for 2Euro ending in Carbon-fiber Porsche branding stick(yes, you can get such thin, Porsche is well known from branding every possible gadget, even snow sled for kids...)
All those selfi stick use minijack connector for camera trigger button, rest is cheap telescopic pipe with phone handle... its not space technology...
It is a little bit of science here.I have a low cost selfie stick but it doesent release the sutter on my huawei p9 and my girlfriends p9 lite,or the iphone 6 thru the jack.
Then you bought the wrong one. Should've tested it.
As Honor 9 has launched also it confuses me a lot about display size whether to choose Honor 8pro or Honor 9 . Am using a 5.5 inch display fone now...
Just need some good opinions whether I have to go with 5.7 inch Honor 8pro or Smaller 5.2 inch Honor 9 . Will I feel unsatisfied with smaller 5.2 inch Honor 9 ? Rest of the specs am ok with it.
I used to browser net and watch YouTube videos mainly. Please help

If you often watch videos, watching them in a bigger screen is more satisfying. Plus it has bigger battery.

it is statisfying that you get 6h of screen on time with heavy usage on a such powerful device ...
and please don't forget, you always have the one-handed mode ready with a swipe along the nav bar.
Out of curiosity in which market does Huawei sell both phones? I thought the Honor 9 was for China and the Honor 8 Pro for the rest of the world.

honor 9 is for all, you probably meant the V9.
The V9 is the same phone as P8 Pro, just for the chinese market.

actually, i'd think the difference is quite clear cut and the choice would be quite obvious.
the honor8pro is NOT a small phone. size and weight wise, it is very similar to Huawei Mate9. it can be a bit heavy if you're coming from a 5.5" phone.
so it does boil down to personal preference. for me, i do think honor8pro is a bit too big and heavy, but, i'd still take it over honor9 because i think i can accept the bigger size and weight more than smaller screen. i don't think i'd be able to accept a smaller screen... for me, just like you, i watch a lot of videos, browse the net and social media. a big screen can surely help with those...
i've used the Huawei P9 before. it's about the same size as Honor9. nice to hold and such... but, i felt the screen was a bit small for me. i like to game on my phone too...
hope that helps.

I think I agree with you . Despite single handed use. The bigger screen is always relaxing to eyes than the straining to a smaller screen area. Aint I right?

totally right. if one is gonna watch movies and browse the net, big screen is always a welcome. for myself, i find the size to be just nice at 5.5" to 5.7". not too big, not too small.

i guess either hands happy, or eyes happy...
but yes, holding the mate 9 (similar weight), it does feel a bit heavy. but i guess after a while, the hand should be used to it.
then again, staring at small screen, eventually eyes will get used to it too...
still, i prefer hand do extra work. i'm already four-eyed. plus, sometimes, can just put the phone on a stand or sth... no need to hold.

The H8P has a 2K display, which makes watching videos a delight. Though you'll use more battery. But with a full charge time of 1.5 hours I think you shouldn't have a problem.

also, 5.2 and above aren't too small, they are just perfect for a smartphone
Ok, I'm in a dilemma here. The OP5 (6GB) scores more in benchmarks than the H8P. Not to mention claims of the camera being better on the OP5 as well a battery life and not to mention a cleaner UI. So which one do I go for? Conventional knowledge says OP5. But I wanna hear from any Honor users here about this.
I carry my phone in my front pocket and the Moto G4 i have now with the sleeve on it works well. Since I've vowed to never own another Motorola/Lenovo product im looking at the Honor 8. If the Honor 9 was available in the US I'd probably go that route but since it isn't it may be the 8. I'm just unsure how it would carry thickness and length wise. I dont think a 1/2 inch or so will make much difference, and the weight doesn't matter much.

It's pretty weird in 2017 high end chipsets fones you still measure benchmarks ? Man come on... These both devices pretty well. Cleaner UI is not always aesthetic appeal. Gets bored easily too with cleaner oxy os
Hi All
Currently looking for a new phone and MI6 is top of my list, big Xiaomi fan, but my one concern is the weight of the phone. I'm coming from an MI4C which is extremely light (132g) v MI6 (168g). Can anyone comment on the weight of MI6, does it feel quite heavy? Looking at other flagships it seems one of the heaviest out there in that screen size market.
its so heavy, if you have problem with weight of phone, consider...
its super cool phone, everything is fine , but so heavy
You get used to the weight quite quickly. But why now a Mi6? Is it about the size? I would wait for the presentation of the Mi8.
Sorry for OT,
Need advice
What should i choose mi mix 2s or up coming mi 8
At first its seems quite heavy, but you get comfy with it very easy.
I like it when the Phone is a bit heavier so you can feel it in your pocket.
Buy it if you want a new Phone right now then go for it or wait for the Mi 8 for sure.

Hmm yes not sure what to do. Using one handed I'm sure it gets quite heavy after a while.
I'm a big fan of smaller screen sizes, so max would be 5.5in. Seems like MI8 is going to be over 6 in which is way too big for me
you can not compare "old" 5.5in phones with new ones:
6" Mi Mix 2s
Dimensions 150.9 x 74.9 x 8.1 mm (5.94 x 2.95 x 0.32 in)
5,5" Redmi Note 3 Pro
Dimensions 150 x 76 x 8.7 mm (5.91 x 2.99 x 0.34 in)
I have the ceramik version, which is still a a bit heavier than glass-version. but no problem!
If you decide on a mi6, don't buy the ceramic, you will not need it. I bought it since there was almost no price difference to the "standard" version.
What i really like about my Mi6 is the (ultrasonic) Fingerprint/Home button on front - perfect unlocking even with wet fingers.
Maybe Mi8 in-display fingerprint is just as good, we will see.

I've heard that the ultrasonic fingerprint reader on our mi 6 is actually the try-and-see thing before going to in display ultrasonic fp readers. And I remember some guy on miui forums who've tested mi 8 saying it's quite responsive as mi 6's.
It gets a little heavy when I hold it with one hand but mostly when I try to watch something in landscape. No problems when using two hand of course. Holding it in portrait with one hand is fine for as long as I like. I actually love the weight of it most of the time, feels very premium.
The mi6 is a great phone at its price IMO. If you like your devices notchless and can stand losing the headphone jack this is a great option.
It is nice and heavy.
Hi.
I have a Ulefone Be Touch 2 and I want to buy a new phone.
I don't know if I should buy a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite or a Redmi Note 7.
The Android One of the Mi A2 Lite is more appealing, but the RN7 has a bigger screen.
My eyes are not perfect, but if the Mi A2 Lite has at least the same screen width as the UBT2, then I'll probably buy the Mi A2 Lite instead of the RN7. The UBT2 has a screen width of about 68.5mm (2.7 inches) and a total width of 77.4mm (3.05 inches).
Can someone please measure the screen width of the Mi A2 Lite? I know that the total width of the Mi A2 Lite is 71.68mm (2.82 inches), but I don't know it's screen width.
Thank you.
About bugs, anyone experience anything bad? GPS and bluetooth work fine?
Should we expect updates until Android 10 or until Android 11?
Concerning privacy, do you recommend me to install a CFW to prevent any kind of spying by Xiaomi?
Why do you wanna know about screen width though?
Mi A2 Lite display have 5.84 inches, 85.1 cm2 (~79.5% screen-to-body ratio), and Ulefone Be Touch have 5.5″ screen.
I recommend buying Redmi Note 7. It has way more peformance, the design is beautiful and has a 48mp camera, has a headphone jack, etc. I don't think Android One is appealing. Android One is stock android and has almost no features. It's just boring. If you don't like miui, you can install custom rom in the device later.

Thank you very much for your help.
I want to know the screen width because I can't see very well (my eyes suck), and I need a phone with a big screen width. I understand that the diagonal of the Mi A2 Lite is 5.84 inches and that the diagonal of the UBT2 is 5.5 inches, but what about the width?
Regarding the RN7, I don't really like the miui. I've asked about the RN7 in another thread and they told me that custom roms for the RN7 still have a few bugs... maybe the bugs will be solved in future updates, maybe not.
EDIT: asked an eBay seller, he told me the screen width is 64mm (don't know if he measured it correctly or not).
Hello all !
I need some help!
I'm in need of a new phone and came to the conclusion I wanted a Xiaomi. After watching some video's I came to the conclusion I wanted the Mi CC9 (Mi 9 Lite) so I've just ordered the 64gb variant.
After doing some further research I've discovered I could've got a Redmi Note 8 Pro for only £8 more.
Do you think I should cancel my order and get the Note 8 Pro? The dust and splash resistant is something I could really do with as I hate the fear of potential water damage from rain.
Also even though the Note 8 Pro features a 4500 maH battery and the Mi 9 Lite only has a 4030 maH battery which do you think will last longer? Considering it has a bigger screen and a more demanding processor do you think that the 9 Lite battery will still be better?
I can't do you a comparison. However, I got myself a Redmi Note 8 pro just over a week ago instead of the K20 pro or the mi 9 pro. I can tell you I am pretty happy with my decision. I didn't care for the pop up camera, nor the OLED screen or in screen finger print sensor. On the 8 pro, the screen is good under most condition. The battery is way better than what I have on the iPhone 8 plus. The processor is fast, everything is snappy and the finger print sensor on the back works very well.
Hope the above helps. Good luck on your purchase.
Redmi note 8 pro is definitely a better option right now at this very moment, any other phone will be a waste of resources, i own one and totally loves it!!!!!!

Also why will any other model be a waste of resources? The Note 8 Pro has a Mediatek chip which has a bad reputation for optimisation and regular updates, as well as going crap after 2 years.
The 9 Lite has a snapdragon which from what I've heard will receive more updates
