ABOUT THE PROJECTStarted on the Nexus 6, Years ago is the Patch the Result of evolving custom ROMs to something more. -Download the XperiFirm Tool to Your PC
-Download the NewFlasher Tool to Your PC
-Download Minimal ADB & Fastboot to Your PC
-Download the latest Firmware for Your Device Model
-Place the NewFlasher Tool Files in the Firmware Folder
-Connect Your Device to the USB Cable while holding Volume- (Down)(Green LED)
-Start NewFlasher with Admin Rights (Will not work otherwise)
-Press "n" and Enter (do that twice)
-Flashing should now be done after some Minutes
-Detach the USB Cable
-Connect Your Device to the USB Cable again while holding Volume+ (Up)(Blue LED)
-Go to Your fastboot Location and place the latest TWRP Image in it (from: twrp.me)
-Start Fastboot/ADB and type "fastboot flash recovery nameofyourrecovery.img" without the " Symbols
-Detach the USB Cable
-Done! You can now use Your Device like You want!
-Flash ROMs, Mods and/or the SNAP PATCH. Your Device is now fully upgraded!

I have the 7.1 Yoshino kernel AOSP so I can have the Dynamic Resolution Switch and enjoy native 4K.
I also have Daydream enabled and installed the normal hack way,but it's a bit jittery for head tracking compared to my Axon 7.
Can someone tell me if this will work with 7.1, or if I'll still be able to enjoy true 4K with an 8.1 ROM and this patch? The VR services sound good, along with everything else. Otherwise, I guess I'll just keep waiting for @kholk to finish setting up the DRS on 8.1.

Did you try this?
It'll be native 4k and AOSP 8.1 but you'd be stuck with it (can't switch to 1080p) which I don't see as problem. Also bootanimation will go weird, but after display off and on once boot is finished everything is fine.

It has nothing to do with the patch but with the kernel. I simply built a rom that works great with the Snappatch AOSP version, not the other way round. [emoji3]
And no native 4k always with stock. I really prefer AOSP. It's just slimmer, greater and quite debloated from the beginning.

So if you got the switch working, do the screen pixels look more glued? Cuz here i can still see pixels on the adb commands
And is 120hz working yet?

I don't know what you mean by glued, but with my Daydream headset and 20/20 vision the pixels seem like a horizontal wavy zig-zag.
Basically, the emulated adb will enlarge an image from 1080 and give you a 4-block of the same pixel. Worse, if the image is actually for example 1440p, it will first scale it down to 1080 blurring it a bit, then take the blurred image and resize it to 2160p.

The Kernel is edited and patched with Magisk. No chance that it works on Locked Bootloaders (Before unlocking them). But You can maybe lock it after flashing to hide the 5Sec Message after turning the Device on.
Just use "fastboot oem lock" and "fastboot oem unlock" commands. Don't recommend it and i don't try it out by myself, but maybe does it work. Would be good to know since Stock is passing SafetyNet (Device thinks it is unmodified)
Btw. @super_extreme nice work with AOSP! Are Your Builds passing SafetyNet too with the AOSP Patch? Carbon doesn't but that also the case without Patching...

So with saftey net the device thinks its unmodified, why would it be a problem?
Google play services crashed during set-up and only blackscreen, no way to finish set-up.
Followed installation instructions to the teeth:
-flashed stock .145 BLX
-let it boot to set-up
-completely shut down
-flash twrp in fastboot mode
-boot to twrp
-format data and internal storage (encryption error)
-reboot to recovery and wiped everything again (no encryption error)
-again completely power off
-reboot
Uh-oh no more OS... better start again ?
-flashed stock .145 BLX again
-boot to set-up
-completely shut down
-flash twrp in fastboot
-boot to twrp
-now only wiped systeem, cache, data
-reboot to twrp again
-moved snappatch and snapprop to root of internal storage with adb
-flashed snappatch_v101 stock
-reboot
After this the set-up wouldnt let me pass because of the Google play services crash. This crash happend after entering the Wifi-password. There was only a blackscreen and i could see the clock and battery in the upper right corner.
Tried flashing Opengapps micro afterwards butt stil no luck.
Edit: removed my earlier expression of the Rom, isn't helpful or related to this thread

BOOT TO THE RECOVERY/TWRP
WIPE DATA, SYSTEM AND THE CACHES
FLASH A AOSP OS/ROM/FIRMWARE/KERNEL
GO TO THE REBOOT MENU AND SELECT RECOVERY
FLASH THE PATCH BEFORE BOOTING INTO THE SYSTEM

And that's it. If You don't want to flash a new ROM, just choose the Clean or Full Wipe within the Patch.

How you unlock bootloader on xz prenium
I'm sorry, but this is seriously misleading and is very premature. There is no way, currently, to unlock or root that I know of, and even if there were it is not without consequences. I think I'd lock this until we have proper unlock and root processes defined that includes TA backup.
Well, it is like in all the Years back. Wait for the Bootloader unlock and done... Sony isn't Samsung. That the Bootloader is actually not unlockable does not mean that it will never happen...
EDIT: Keep in Mind, how long this Phone is available and how long the Forums here exist...

It is made for all Qualcomm Flagships with 64Bit System based on Android 7.1.X/8.0. Making ROMs for some many Devices was to Time intense so i've decided to go that Way instead. All Custom ROM Features and even more without Device specific ZIP Files, that is the Patch...
Well, i wanted to support SONY and HTC Devices from now, but i can't test them and the focus is on AOSP based ROMs to keep everything unified. Some Devices are able to use the Patch on top of Stock Firmwares like My LG G5 and the ZTE Axon 7 but everything beyond this needs further testing by willed People. And even if it runs on Stock (usable), if Problems appear and they are only present on the Stock Firmware and not on AOSP of that Device do i not fix them. Stock Firmwares will be always outdated at any Point and the Patch is always using the latest Enhancements of newer Android Versions which may brick older Android Versions.
A Example: The actual Audio Quality Settings and some Services are not existing or even working on older Android Versions than Nougat. If You flash the actual Patch on older Android Versions will Your Device just Bootloop, but even if it boots is there no Audio Output, the Microphones are not working and so on.
I do always try to catch the latest Enhancements of Android and i can't care about all that old Devices and old Android Versions. We want to deliver the best possible Quality in all possible Ways with our Project and that is only possible if we do focus on the newest Soft and Hardware. The Snapdragon 820 is the recommended minimum Platform but it may happen that the Patch does also work on Snapdragon 810 Devices or other 64Bit Snapdragons, but that it really depending on the given Android OS Version.

I think some silent People are already working on this. Give it a few weeks, the XZ Premium is still brand new and even I haven't One yet. 750€ are almost 2 payed bills for My Apartment lol
Looking forward to this Beast! The XZ Premium is definitely the most outstanding Phone this Year. The Tech in it is really Future pure... I'm sure it will get a lot of Love from XDA too...
Gonna flash this on my XZs and give it a try then! Looking forward to flashing it on my XZP as well.

Thanks in advance! I do really want to support SONY Flagships since they are coming along with pretty awesome Software and Tech. The XZ is also on My List but My next personal Device will be for sure the XZ Premium. Anyways, i do really hope the Preview of 1.2 will already work for You and Others, let us know...

So I installed it and I must say thats one heck of an impressive installer!
I let it be and it got to 100%, I let it be for a while but got confused if I should have rebooted it or not so I did.
Now it bootloops. I don't think it should be stuck on 100% a long time or?

So please tell Me what You did exactly to flash it. What was Your base OS? Wiped and clean flashed it before? Need some Infos for Help...
And let it settle down a bit (don't abort the booting to quick), it does Preload the Storage for some Optimizations which takes a while based on how full Your Storage is.
Attaching a USB Cable to a PC is a good indicator of the Booting State (Connecting Sounds)...

Instructions:
BOOT TO THE RECOVERY/TWRP
WIPE DATA, SYSTEM AND THE CACHES
FLASH A AOSP OS/ROM/FIRMWARE/KERNEL
GO TO THE REBOOT MENU AND SELECT RECOVERY
FLASH THE PATCH BEFORE BOOTING INTO THE SYSTEM
REBOOT TO THE SYSTEM NOW. THE FIRST START MAY TAKE SOME TIME
And that's it. If You don't want to flash a new ROM, just choose the Clean or Full Wipe within the Patch.

As long as it is based on Linage/AOSP 7.1.X or 8.X.X Yes. Stock may also work on the OP5 but i need more Feedback about that...

Yes, but it's meant for AOSP. If something doesn't work while it works on all Devices with AOSP do i not officially fix it. I may provide tricks to solve Problems like on the Mi 5S but just when the Users on the Devices are willed to Help finding the Bugs. Hope that Sounds fair

Awesome, think that will be good for the Quality :fingers-crossed: I'm currently trying to find the Problem with AOSPA on the 3T. The latest 7.3 Update has included a lot of Changes around the Camera and includes of course the new PA Camera. Looks like i need to merge these Changes or to add a Option for them to the PATCH. Hope i can manage that.

Check YouTube 4K and HDR Playback (Netlfix, Amazon too), Pixel Features like Instant Apps and Instant Tethering (to find in the Google Settings), Unlimited Photo Upload in Original Size. Unlimited App Downloads from Sony, HTC Asus and Co (Check Asus Dialer, Sony Album, Sony Music and so on). You can enable the Light Extras to get the HTC Companion and Smart Battery (Doze Configuration). You can check Your Serial Number under Settings/Infos. And so much more besides all the Optimizations and added Services and Features which are running in the Background.
About dirty flashing: Only when You are coming from a earlier Version of the PATCH! If the PATCH wasn't installed on Your Devices, make a full Wipe, flash the ROM and on top the PATCH (Without Booting the System before the Patching). This is needed since the PATCH does change essential Configs and Handlings which may cause heavy Issues if applied on a already running System. If the PATCH is already running on Your Device do You only need to clean flash again when Problems appear. The PATCH get's no Updates at all. Every Release is a new standalone Version. That ensures that everything runs like it was meant to....

Instructions:
BOOT TO THE RECOVERY/TWRP
WIPE DATA, SYSTEM AND THE CACHES
FLASH A AOSP OS/ROM/FIRMWARE/KERNEL
GO TO THE REBOOT MENU AND SELECT RECOVERY
FLASH THE PATCH BEFORE BOOTING INTO THE SYSTEM
REBOOT TO THE SYSTEM NOW. THE FIRST START MAY TAKE SOME TIME
And that's it. If You don't want to flash a new ROM, just choose the Clean or Full Wipe within the Patch.
Don't have the Luck to own a Pixel 2 XL yet, but feel free to test the Light Patch as One of the first! Would appreciate some Feedback, but keep in mind, this Patch is meant for AOSP based Systems. Stock may have Problems but as far as i know are the Pixel 1 Models running flawless with the Patch on top of Stock Oreo...

Flashfire / Root would be good enough, but TWRP is THE WAY to go as usual. How is the actual State on the Pixel 2 Devices? I'll guess the Bootloaders are unlockable already!? TWRP isn't available yet!?

Hehe, used that Method on One of My first ROMs, think it was for the Xperia T lot of Years ago (Without AROMA)...
Know well how to pair that with AROMA today. Updated the Changelog and will come with the next Release, thanks for bringing back the Idea Sir! Think this is a great addition (LMT will be Optional Part of the disabling of the Navbar).

It's still alotta do. Planning some changes on the Presentation of the Project and i'm also interested to get Part of a App called "Custom ROM Manager". Which looks awesomely made. It could be a "OTA" like updater for the Patch (Checking for the actual Version of the Patch and advising Updates if needed). Besides that am i finetuning some Parts of the Patch like the Structure and the Logics. Think it will be ready over the Weekend and pushed out on the 1st of the next Month. You can hide and swap back and recents with "custom navigation bar" from play store. You just need to grant permission through adb on your computer if you have no root. I swapped my back n recents

I just got Google Lense fully working on My Axon 7 with AOSP on it... Wasn't it Pixel exclusive till now? I remeber XDA has posted about it but failed. Same for unlimited Photo Uploads. Someone tried to copy My Method but failed (XDA Featured it). Think it's about Time that the Light Patch gets featured? Anyone willed to report Me to the XDA "News" Team? Some more Attention wouldn't hurt x)
EDIT: Magisk Module... I HATE THEM! Just discovered that there is a Module for that. And what about Users of other Root Methods? ;(

That would really be a nice Move from You! The Patch can replace the GApps step in the Recovery while also giving the possibility to skip the GApps install thx to AROMA. Manual Debloat and Bloat Options are also included to make everything more custom. Could be a great addition on OS Threads...
And Fingers crossed that Root/TWRP is coming soon to You Folks! Looking forward to support this Beast here!
PS: Could anyone provide a Unpacked/Zipped Pixel 2 XL Stock System? I'm not able to get My Fingers on the Files but would like to merge them for the Users of other Devices and of course the Pixel 2 XL on AOSP too. V1.6 comes in 2-3 Days so there is some Time left to include the new Files. Would really appreciate some Help with that!

How long should this take. I get stuck an different moments in the installation. Right now i'm stuck at Mounting / system.

Tried it with the provided instructions? There are a lot of People running this. I'm sure You'll get it also if You ask on a friendly Way for Help...

These are my steps
1. reboot in bootloader to unlock
2. reboot recovery
3. wipe system data cache dalvik/cache
4. install latest mokee nightly
5. reboot into recovery after installation of mokee rom
6. install light patch
7. dont change any options just install
8. wait
9. gets stuck in a different point of installtion everytime.
If you could point out if i'm doing something wrong that would be great. I don't know why the installer gets stuck on different points.
edit - now it's stuck on Extracting files (80%).
i'm letting it bake for a while maybe it will finish after some time.

First of all, You did everything right! We have to blame TWRP for that Issue. AROMA needs a good working Recovery and this isn't the Case on some Devices. The fix is simple as the Problem itself. The Display just freezes when the Device is getting warm. Detaching Cables and laying the Device out of the Hand may Help. The Install will always complete, but if the Display stucks again just wait a bit and Press the bottom Edge where the next Button is. 3 Vibrates and You're back in TWRP with installed Patch. This and more Infos will come to all MY XDA Threads asap. Sry for the trouble, jope You'll be now able to enjoy it!
A problem of the light patch is, there is simply no option to stop installing magisk. Sadly magisk doesn't work correctly on mokee f.e. I've also noticed problems when installing the patch. Aborted at around 20% I guess.

Ok thanks allot I would have never figured that out

I could click the invisible NEXT button. And got back into TWRP. I rebooted but the phone turns itself off after showing the nubia logo for a while. Something stil is nog going the way it should/

That is pretty strange. I couldn't imagine what causes this. V1.6 comes later today, maybe will it work with one of the new Root Options. Possible that Magisk is the bad Guy, but not sure yet. We will see...

After 1.6 i'm stuck in a bootloop. And stuck in general as to why this is not working on my nubia.

OMG I can tell you guys, it's maybe the BEST ROM EVER for Poco F4, It has the Oxygen OS Camera with all the effects working. The look n' feel is awesome!! so clean, so fast, so compatible with everything you need.
I didn't find any issues so far.
Just give it a try, FOR REAL!!
i have installed with recovery method and i had spark os previously and it overwriten over it like an update instead of clean update.
Anyway after that i wanted to first clean everything and then flash the ROM but i cant seeem to boot twrp from fastboot.
"fastboot boot recovery" does not work. tried both orangefox and twrp. This might be a bug.
I think i have to flash someother rom first and then boot into TWRP.

Anyway after that i wanted to first clean everything and then flash the ROM but i cant seeem to boot twrp from fastboot.
"fastboot boot recovery" does not work. tried both orangefox and twrp. This might be a bug.
I think i have to flash someother rom first and then boot into TWRP.

you using wrong command you need to boot into recovery by 'fastboot boot filename.img'
or flash recovery as boot by 'fastboot flash boot filename.img' after installing rom it will automatically change to aosp recovery also boot will restore

i am using the correct command, I was just lazy to include the .img in the comment i wrote. I did not try the "fastboot flash boot filename.img" though. This issue might also be because of the ROM overwriting last ROM.
Anyway, i reinstalled MIUI fastboot rom and then did " fastboot boot filename.img" and it worked this time. And then installed paranoid android after clean wipe. Everything working now.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS of ROM,
wifi strength is little less. 5 Ghz wifi is disconnecting frequently and staying on 2.4ghz. I has to manually connect to 5ghz wifi multiple times even when i am right next to router.
5G on Jio is not working, used to work in spark OS I used. although i did change from 14.0.2 indian firmware to 14.0.4 indian firmware. I dont think newer firmware should break 5G but we nevere know.
since 5G is in trails we get unlimited data so 5G support would be nice. Also, i get 500mbps siting at home so that is a plus as well.
Wireless display casting is working.
standby battery seems very good.
I miss HBM. I feel like display could get little more brighter but i cannot do side by side testing so i might be wrong.
battery percentage inside a circle battery indicator would be nice, otherwise it is taking lot of status bar space. if not that then circle indicator instead of bar would be better to read the battery status.

CAF based rom use different recovery make sure you using correct one sparkos recovery not works on caf
5G should work try to enable with code

Google Sounds app for ringtones seems to be bugged. Tried installing/updating with 3rd party apk and it still buggy. majority sounds dont work at all

sorry but what is working for me? i am confused by your comment
can anyone else confirm that their Google pay and Phone pay are able to activate the bank accounts, this might be SBI bank account related as well but sms verification failing from two days.
EDIT: its working, it is as stupid as selecting wrong sim for verification. But I was selecting SIM1 which was supposed to be my main SIM card and I double checked afterwards in the SIM tray and my main sim card is in SIM 1 slot but in software it is reversed somehow
Can using Indian MIUI firmware instead of Global firmware be the issue?

Hand down best battery life among all ROMs i tried, it's not even close. I never get more than 5hrs since i enable every feature there is.
I still have to test with some of my apps that run constantly in background, like Google fit activity tracking, Resilio Sync(file backup),wavelet(audio convolution, basically corrects my earphones to more neutral signature),password manager, earbuds software, mi band app.
