We are very excited to announce Paranoid Android Topaz, based on Android 13.
On the first launch, you’ll notice a clean setup with beautiful wallpapers from Hampus Olsson, who teamed up with us again to create several beautiful pieces of artwork. Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app from the PlayStore.
Our builds are based on the Code Linaro Organization Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

i found thank you

Is camera working here? even if is an AOSP or MIUI?

Looks cool~

OMG I can tell you guys, it's maybe the BEST ROM EVER for Poco F4, It has the Oxygen OS Camera with all the effects working. The look n' feel is awesome!! so clean, so fast, so compatible with everything you need.
I didn't find any issues so far.
Just give it a try, FOR REAL!!

i have installed with recovery method and i had spark os previously and it overwriten over it like an update instead of clean update.
Anyway after that i wanted to first clean everything and then flash the ROM but i cant seeem to boot twrp from fastboot.
"fastboot boot recovery" does not work. tried both orangefox and twrp. This might be a bug.
I think i have to flash someother rom first and then boot into TWRP.

you using wrong command you need to boot into recovery by 'fastboot boot filename.img'
or flash recovery as boot by 'fastboot flash boot filename.img' after installing rom it will automatically change to aosp recovery also boot will restore

i am using the correct command, I was just lazy to include the .img in the comment i wrote. I did not try the "fastboot flash boot filename.img" though. This issue might also be because of the ROM overwriting last ROM.
Anyway, i reinstalled MIUI fastboot rom and then did " fastboot boot filename.img" and it worked this time. And then installed paranoid android after clean wipe. Everything working now.
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS of ROM,
wifi strength is little less. 5 Ghz wifi is disconnecting frequently and staying on 2.4ghz. I has to manually connect to 5ghz wifi multiple times even when i am right next to router.
5G on Jio is not working, used to work in spark OS I used. although i did change from 14.0.2 indian firmware to 14.0.4 indian firmware. I dont think newer firmware should break 5G but we nevere know.
since 5G is in trails we get unlimited data so 5G support would be nice. Also, i get 500mbps siting at home so that is a plus as well.
Wireless display casting is working.
standby battery seems very good.
I miss HBM. I feel like display could get little more brighter but i cannot do side by side testing so i might be wrong.
battery percentage inside a circle battery indicator would be nice, otherwise it is taking lot of status bar space. if not that then circle indicator instead of bar would be better to read the battery status.

sorry but what is working for me? i am confused by your comment

can anyone else confirm that their Google pay and Phone pay are able to activate the bank accounts, this might be SBI bank account related as well but sms verification failing from two days.
EDIT: its working, it is as stupid as selecting wrong sim for verification. But I was selecting SIM1 which was supposed to be my main SIM card and I double checked afterwards in the SIM tray and my main sim card is in SIM 1 slot but in software it is reversed somehow
Can using Indian MIUI firmware instead of Global firmware be the issue?

Does this Custom ROM Support Dolby Atmos by Ryzuki ?

Hand down best battery life among all ROMs i tried, it's not even close. I never get more than 5hrs since i enable every feature there is.
I still have to test with some of my apps that run constantly in background, like Google fit activity tracking, Resilio Sync(file backup),wavelet(audio convolution, basically corrects my earphones to more neutral signature),password manager, earbuds software, mi band app.

Thanks for the great work
I can't wait to flash this and try it out!
Does anyone have any information about the battery life on DU compared to stock or another rom?
Also, is it rooted by default?
Thanks for bringing this rom to the Pixel 3a!

Battery life is subjective and depends on too many variables. That being said, battery life on DU is leat least quivalent, but should be better than stock.

It's not rooted by default, but you may use Magisk if you want root.

I see you list instructions for flashing with a device with TWRP, does this mean if I flash back to Android 9 and install TWRP, that I can then run this ROM and TWRP even though its based on Android 10?

Hey thanks.
When I fastboot flash the boot.img, can I just initially use the magisk-patched version you've provided in your files there, in lieu of the plain boot.img? Would that save me some effort of setting up magisk afterwards, and I could boot into an already-rooted ROM?

For the first flash / clean flash, don't use the Magisk patched boot image. Let the device boot up once after the sideload. You can reboot before running the setup and flash the Magisk patched boot image and then continue the setup. And you'll have to install MagiskManager after the device setup. It will ask you to reboot once.
For updates / dirty flash, you can sideload the ROM, reboot to bootloader and flash the Magisk patched boot image and then reboot to retain Magisk
This may be a very dumb question, but in terms of raw code, what is the difference between a rom for the Pixel 3a / Pixel 3a XL? Except the screen and the battery, the devices do not differ...wouldn't the DU Pixel 3a XL rom work as well?
Thanks for the rom - downloading it right now
Edit: I seem to have an issue with the first time wizard - it finds my wifi, but is somehow stuck. I've skipped it, but can't restore anything from my google backups...
ROM seems to be running quite good however

The devices are nearly identical, and ROMs are likely mostly cross-compatible, but there are subtle differences like some of the configs... Screen and power to name a few.
The setup wizard works fine on both WiFi and mobile data. But I also don't know what you mean by "stuck". Does it connect to your WiFi networks? Have you tried it with your mobile data?
It just stays at the initial "Checking for Updates...". Yes, both LTE and WiFi are connected and i've tried it with both. I can just skip all of it and have been able to restore a backup afterwards
I have to say, it's a pretty amazing rom...i've got roughly 7 hours of SoT, a ton of standby, reception is good (i wish it would stay a bit longer on LTE, before switching over to Edge)

Im on pbrp and installed it and ended in fastboot loop. Had to flash global rom and twrp to install it properly. Also the cam on this rom is camera go 2.

when i flash a new rom if i end up in a bootloop and get that encryption bug. What I do is pick the 3rd option that completely wipes your system (with everything backed up to my sd card) then try installing the rom. when you finish flashing it reboot back into recovery again and flash it again. also make sure pretty much everything but cache/dalvik and data and not mounted.
took me a bit of trial and error and I have no clue why but ive been flashing roms this way without fail since i installed pbrb3 recovery. Aospa, RR, evolution and another one that i found on androidfilehost lol.
ooof randomly reboots while using.

Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose design stands for itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We also added further UI touches that we believe enhance the overall user experience. You can find all of the Paranoid Android wallpapers and many more in the Abstruct app, included in our builds.
Our builds are based on the Code Aurora Forum Android base, which is optimized for Qualcomm platforms and has a higher degree of performance, battery life, and functionality compared to the Android Open Source Project platform. The Paranoid Android team and contributors are focusing on squashing existing bugs, and implementing and improving features, performance, and stability. We are dedicated to providing a user experience with the stability that you can expect from stock ROMs with best-in-class performance and features to help you get the most out of your device.

Here we go
Can't wait to try this. Used PA way back on my Sammy S3 and my OP3
can you post features of the rom? never used Aospa but I quess it has more features than PA which is pretty basic? thanks for your hard work
Did not work for me, got me into "Crashdump" mode.
Looks it all this wait was totally worth it, was able to boot it up without any issues, everything is working as expected, no crashes or random reboots till now, everything is so smooth and flawless really great word dev.
Thanks a ton for your hard work and the ROM.
Can be used as a daily driver for sure.
Only minor bug I noticed is while charging it shows slow charging but when checking the Ampere its actually dash charging, rest everything seems to be pin point perfect for now.
Update: Vibrate intensity is pretty low/soft, would be great if we could bump it up a bit.
Thank you.

Hi,
I'm having trouble successfully installing the ROM. So I was wondering if you maybe could guide/help me through the installation process since when I tried the one you listed, it got me into Qualcomm crashdump mode. Even though, I followed every step to full extend (flashing recovery and so on). But the whole process resulted in me bricking my phone, so I had to bring it back to Oxygen OS using the MSM Tool. So it would be really nice if you could provide me with some installation steps or at least some help.
Kind regards, andr052h
Same here. Followed instructions an stuck in Android Recovery with the following message after doing the Factory Data Reset:-
Cannot load Android System. Your data may be corrupt. etc.
Will reset with MSM and try again

Yes. Used MSM to get 10.0.13 and then upgraded to 11.0.0.2 HD01BA. Made sure was in both slots. Followed instructions exactly.
Tried 3 times and giving up and going back to PE. Shame as I used to like PA when I had my Note 3 years ago.
Device is HD1913 by the way in case that helps anyone else.

Odd, the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is to make sure you're flashing using fastbootd and not regular fastboot. Hopefully you'll figure it out, fantastic ROM.
Hows the FOD in this ROM?
Schemes do not work for me it always crash when i click on it so i cant change fonts etc. Any idea?

I can't get this ROM to boot either... I MSM tooled back to 10.0.14, OTA updated and manually updated and also flashed with twrp OOS 11.0.1.1 and followed directions to the T! Either Crash Dumps, or boots back into OOS 11. Does it not work on the OOS 11 Global maybe? I really want to try this ROM! Been trying for almost 3 days now... Any advice is greatly appreciated! I have the HD1910 (Chinese variant) I had the HD0IAA global firmware installed everytime I tried if that helps at all? I also tried fastboot, and fastbootd with 3 different TWRP versions, and the lineage18.1 recovery, and the stock OOS recovery with fastbootd. Also have A and B slot on the 11.0.1.1 firmware. I used the copy partition zip and also manually flashed both slots to no avail...

I am using the latest platform tools. At least I thought I was? I'll check again to make sure I have the most updated version. The instructions aren't very clear either. It says to reboot to bootloader with the ADB command. That is regular fast boot. On a post a few down, it is mentioned that the only thing they could think of is to make sure to flash and fastbootd. So which one are we supposed to use? Do we use the stock OOS recovery? The only way I know to flash the newest Android 11 is from the repo thread or flashable zips. I also tried it with the OTA update and the copy partition zip still didn't work from fastbootd and fastboot. Every time I do it I get an error that there is no boot image maybe I need to redownload the ROM?

Unfortunately wifi and Bluetooth gets break if you flash from A.91 or newer version, same will be applied for all roms. So better rollback to A.71, A.75 or any lower version than A.89 and flash.

Probably a.71. The earlier it is, the more cracks it has in its security, in all likelihood. If you mean which is best in terms of features, then you're looking for whatever's the latest firmware.
Thank you, this is my favorite ROM mainly because it is 1 of only 2 for this device that doesn't come prepackaged with GAPPS. All features (including screen record) work fine and am loving it so far.

Hey There,
first of all @TheCloverly I really like your work! You've done great! The first time (out of 4 Phones) crDroid runs that smooth and without any crashes.
I have only one problem. Is there any way to get the wide angle camera to work? I know the cameras on that phone are ****ty, but I would really like to use them netherless.
FreeDCam only finds back 0 and front 1. And it seems that other apps aren't supporting multiple lens.
Thank you!!

Aux wont work in gcam (prolly mess from realme so can't be fixed) ;(
As you might know Realme UI 2.0 rolled out to our devices and we had chances to try it out, and do you guys ever wonder what it does to camera on 3rd party apps? Only and only main lens works. Wide Angle doesn't Macro doesn't Front camera doesn't, but only main sensor works.
Thanks for your reply. So there is actually no chance to get the other sensors to work?? That's really sad :/
Other Problem: Do you Guys have Problems with the crDroid Phone App? My Contacts won't be saved. I import them to the device with an App from my Sim Card. Everything is fine, they there use. But when I restart the phone..all contacts will be lost. :/ Any solution there? Thank!!
Edit: I will try to force install the stock camera App. Will report if that works.

Unfortunatelly when i try to install a custom rom it says:
"Flashing A/B zip to inactive slot: A
To flash additional zips, please reboot recovery to switch to the updated slot."
But even after a reboot into recovery again it's still the same error. As far as I understand there are nothing like A/B partitions or slots.
Any idea?

Paranoid it's more stable and has better battery life, Arrow has a bit more features. I really hope we get pass the "beta" phase this time, this rom is among the legendary ones and it's a prime example of what a custom rom should be.

Yes, ive tried It (was my daily ROM at a12.1 so thought would be the same with a13) but have found aospa more stable (no headphone problems when received a call, less idle drain, fixed round corners, etc)
The only thing that i miss is the hbm.
Excellent ROM! but only few notification and call ringtones working, others are causing error and crash.
BUG REPORT. Thanks for the work!

I cannot agree more, I'm sticking with this ROM for a while, my only issue is that I can't hide the pill bar, even with magisk and for some reason orange fox is not working with the rom

So it's kinda weird, I first tried to install the rom with orange fox and got stuck in the splash screen, then installed the rom from fastboot, all good but I tried to do fastboot boot to orange fox and just got stuck in a black screen, fastboot boot worked with TWRP but could not mount system so flashing magisk failed, but patching the boot image and flashing it from fastboot worked, so I'm using the rom and it's rooted but with no custom recovery

Well, I flashed it successfully with OrangeFox (my current working build - I haven't tried with the latest released version, but I don't see how that would make a difference).
I guess that the trick is to format data before flashing the ROM, and, immediately after flashing the ROM, reboot OrangeFox (ignoring any errors that might be shown), and then format data again. Then reboot to system (again ignoring any errors be shown).
BTW: I flashed it successfully two different times, just to satisfy myself that the first success wasn't a fluke (it wasn't a fluke).

It doesn't seem that you can "fastboot boot" a recovery at all on this ROM.
You might have to flash it via "fastboot flash boot recovery.img", and then run "fastboot reboot recovery".
BTW: why would you want to use a Beta 11.1_1_5_A12 release that has been superseded by a subsequent Stable release?

Thanks for your reply, that´s what I learned as well. You can´t fastboot boot any recovery on PA yet. I didn´t try fastboot flash yet since everything else works pretty fine and installing my phone from scratch again is something I try to avoid for at least a month now
Regarding the beta build: I wasn´t aware of the stable release. I had the beta image file somewhere and gave it a try.
