I've only had this phone a month and already have screen burn in from the navigation and task bars. I keep the brightness at 40 percent and the screen time out at 30 seconds. I mostly watch videos so they are hardly on the screen. And I don't keep the screen on if I'm not using it. Anyone else having this issue?

Thanks, hopefully that's the issue. It's still annoying though..
Yeah with screen off time at 30 seconds and usage especially makes it quite difficult to get burn in on a phone. My s7 has been running for over 2 years (gave it to someone else to upgrade to s9).
The only time burn in happens are on display phones or TVs when image is idle for too long. Doesn't happen on phones 99.5% of the time.

Hi everyone,
I have worked out that its heat that causes the phone to start to flicker. I put my phone in the freezer for about seconds seconds (don't advice anyone else to do this) and boom the flicker went away for a while.
So this means its not the screens which are faulty looks like a hardware design fail to me. Whats the long term effect of this on the device? Could it cause the phone to stop working? Who knows but i cant belive HTC did not catch this during testing.

I played Glowball for at least a half hour yesterday and my display didn't flicker. So it's not all of them.
mate flicker is a defect, end, my hox heats to 53deg n no flicker
Definitely not heat related, I noticed the flicker as soon as the several I've had were delivered, they were freezing at the time, as they'd been in a couriers van all day in cold weather. If anything it then became more intermittent as it warmed up.
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Hi,
EDIT
Resolved it (kinda), I shut the "Economy mode" and the screen stop the flickering....

I'm creating a new thread for this problem got an answer there telling me it's my phone, but I would like to know if somebody else notice this.
It's like on good old CRT. Got a Note I (got stolen) bought a Note 2 and I can see a flickering, like if the display had a 60Hz refresh rate, never notice such a thing with the Note I.
It's more noticeable on white screens. And when you are using peripheral vision, by pointing your eyes like 10 centimeters from the side of the device, the flickering must be more visible
The effect looks like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3jHOwE8MqA not mine but can give an idea of the problem.
Thanks

And I'm talking about Note 1 here.
I don't want to waste money on a Note 2. I don't want burn my wallet again! ):

Never notice it with my Note I, it seems that it's partly due to AMOLED technology, but as I did not notice it on my Note I...
Maybe it varies form device to device...

Then why didn't you return it under warranty?
Go to Display > Features > Smart Rotation . Disable Smart rotation and voila the problem is resolved....

Ok, so if you do not own this device the Note 2, and do not want the device, why chime in and post/comments...
My scraan is flickering too. Feels like old CRT TV. When brightness not at 100% level I can observe this problem. Looks like samsung using PWM to control brightness. I think this is terrible. And I hope this can be fixed by software (adjust brightness by gamma correction etc)
mine also sometimes flickering on the lock screen in the near clock area for about 0,5-1 sec. but no need to worry, i guess its a hidden samsung note 2 feature...
So there are no solutions to fix screen flickering? Maybe we can overclock screen somehow? Maybe alternative brightness control?
The screen flicker mus be due to a bad batch of screens. Mine had the screen flickering too. and even with economy mode shut down and brightness is set to less then 100%. if you rapidly move the phone you can see that you see several screens instead of a blurry moving screen. this way you know it flickers. so for example if you move your phone up and down very rapidly instead of seeing a blurry view of the screen you will see several edges of the screen simultaniously. this tells you its flickering. While just looking at the screen you wont actually see the flickering but its somehow disturbing.
The way i know that your screen is defect is because due to a rescent replacement of my screen on my note 2 the flickering is totally gone now.
But keep in mind that my battery usages with screen on has increased. so i think samsung changed the power management for these new screens so that they wont flicker anymore. but they consume more power now. first i used the screen 6,5 hours and had a standby of 24 hours. now i have 6 hours screen on time with 24 hours standby. so its a bit of a change though. I just tested it 1 time. so it could also be i used the phone in another way when getting only 6 hours.
But just to let you guys know the flickering can be fixed.
Hi there,
Someone gifted me this phone and from first day of usage,
I'm having very strange issue with it's screen.
Its screen stress my eyes and make my eyes red if i look at it for above 15 minutes... Even in lowest to sub-lowest brightness.
Same issue was faced by one who gifted me this phone.
I want to ask that someone else is also facing the same problem or there's some fault in my unit?
I can't really figure out the problem my self, and to be honest i never had this problem before. Even thought i spent hours with my old 3.5" android phone and it never stressed my eyes or made it red.

Try using the screen filter app from the play store. It reduces the screen brightness as maybe that is the problem. I also recommend seeing a doctor as this could be very bad for your eyes.
Sometimes when I take my phone off the charger, the screen is so dim I can barely see it. I have to fumble my way through the menus to get to the adjust brightness screen. What's weird is that once I finally get to that screen, it brightens on its own. I have played with different brightness levels and watchfaces, but they don't seem to matter. Has anyone else had this problem?
I first noticed this on 1.5 a few weeks ago, even after a full reset, and am now seeing it on DP4 too. My watch is only six months old and does have an extra year of warranty, but I'm hoping for a solution so I don't have to get it replaced.
Not sure if it's related, but many times when I put it on the charger, the screen alternates between the charging screen and normal ambient screen every second or two. Could it be my charger that's causing this issue?

FYI, this was apparently caused by the app "Wear Brightness Control" from the Play Store. I uninstalled it from my watch and phone and haven't had the problem since. I have emailed the developer to see if he is aware of the problem and can fix it.
Hi friends.
I left my phone in the house with WiFi on and it was getting some notification updates on samsung apps automatically, when I holded it.
But at that moment background image which was set by program Wallpaper Changer was flickering for like 5-10 seconds then black screen and after that I got picture.
I got so scared, now I assume it's display issue damage or perfectly norma,if yes what could cause this?
Phone was not used it was standing on the table from early morning.
Phone wasn't held near heat nor anything just on my laptop which was off.
The battery is at 38 %.
Well, the flickering has occurred more times? Or was it a one time thing? On ocasion, I have seen some screen related weird things, but never on a regular basis, just some 4 or 5 times since I bought it in Sept 2019
It happened yesterday for first time, hope the last.
Phone is purchased used,3 weeks ago.
