I accidentally hooked up my P10 charger to my Mix2 and woke up this morning with the phone on 44%. Once I realized what happened I tried it again and noticed it came on showing fast charging but within 10 seconds stopped charging altogether. Meanwhile the Mix2 charger had no problems with my P10.
So where do you think the problem lies? Is the Huawei charger incompatible with the Mix2 or the Mix2 incompatible with other chargers? Anyone tried different chargers with their Mix2?
I have used multiple usb-c chargers and all work fine for me. Every QC3.0 charger should work fine. I use a blitzwolf QC3.0 charger as my primary charger.
The charger from my HTC One X+ wouldn't charge my Mix 2, but my ancient Blackberry charger does. Not sure where the incompatibility is.

That's my point. Does is have to be QC3.0? Every other phone I've owned worked with all chargers.

So it's the phone that's incompatible. I wonder why they'd do something so silly like this? Or is it a software bug?
So what 3rd party chargers would you recommend

I tried using a QC4.0 charger from my Z17 and it works without issues, but for some reason an old Xiaomi phone charger of mine didn't want to work. Probably as long as the charger supports QC, then it would be fine
My yoga 910 ultrabook charger works fine with mix 2, also aukey and powerbank without Quick Charge, only huawei charger wont work for me.
I use a Tronsmart WC2F and it charges my Mix 2 just fine.
I'm charging mine with the quick charger that came with my htc 10 with no issues. Just as fast as the xiaomi charger.
Being a Snapdragon platform most Qualcomm Quickcharge certified chargers should work.

I think you've solved the problem. The P10 is Kirin and likely not compatible with the Snapdragon 835.
I've been using my pixel xl charger because I recently picked up a mi mix 2 used and the QC 3.0 charger that was sent with it didn't work. This has been about two weeks and all seems fine. I watch it though and make sure the second it's 100% I take it off. I haven't left a phone on charge overnight since before the fast charge technology came out. I always take em off soon as they're at 100. Anyone think that's bad? I mean I have Google searched quite a bit and didn't see anyone using the of Pixel wall chargers for mi mix 2 but it was that or a Dash charger from my ole OnePlus and I'm quite sure Dash will toast anything that's not a OnePlus device. Lol

This is probably a dumb question, but if I buy some USB-C -> USB cables, can I use my old Nexus 6 charging bricks and still get fast charge on my Pixel? I have a couple of them from my Nexus 6, and I'd hate for them to be useless now.
Don't take my word for gospel but the OEM Nexus 6 charging block has the same output voltage as the pixels block.

I used the USB cable that came with the XL with my N6 charger last night. Seems to work just fine.
You absolutely can. Just make sure you have a Benson approved cable.
Also, it won't charge as fast as the OEM charger.
The N6 Charger Specs:
Nexus 6 battery is 3220mAh Turbo charger rates:
[email protected]=14.4W (Turbo 2)
[email protected]=14.4W (Turbo 1)
[email protected] =9W (Standard output)
You will only get standard output since the Type-C standard is 5v only. So you will charge at approximately 1.6A rather than the approximate 3A from the Pixel Charger

This may be helpful.
Below is a quote from a Google engineer from another forum.
"Will it be safe to use my nexus 6p USB-C charger with the pixel/XL?
I would advise against it. Please use the charger that comes in the Pixel box with it.?* The Nexus 6P charger will technically work with the cord it comes with, but if you use a USB-IF certified USB3.1 cord, the Nexus 6P charger behaves badly.
You do not want to risk a $800 phone on a $10 charger. If you use the OEM 18W Pixel charger, warranty will cover any problems you encounter.
Also, will it be safe to use any qualcomm Quickcharge charger?
Is the Qualcomm QuickCharge charger USB Type-A (square plug) or Type-C (round plug)?
Type-A (square plug) QC chargers: it depend on the manufacturer. Some make good chargers, others make bad. It depends on the maker.
Type-C (round plug) QC chargers: these are bad and go against the spec. I do not recommend using any Type-C Qualcomm QuickCharge chargers.
also, according to the processor spec, it does support quickcharge 3.0
No. The Pixel does not support QC at all. It uses USB-PD (PowerDelivery) at [email protected] and [email protected] levels. You need a USB-PD power supply with those levels or greater.
will there be any harm or advantage if i use a quick-charge 3.0 certified charger?
You need to speak to QualComm. I have personally tested "QualComm Certified" chargers that are bad. I have data to prove this. However there are many "good" QC3.0 chargers as well.
There will be no harm (if the charger is good). There is no advantage (if the charger is good). A QC Type-A charger will work like any other USB-A port and charge at 1.5A maximum. (It remains to be seen if the Pixel will recognize Apple 2.4A charging.)."

Awesome, thanks for the reply! So from what I am understanding, the cable is more important than the charging brick? I charge my phone every night, and I want to avoid fast charging in that scenario since I've heard that Fast Charges create more wear and tear on the battery than a standard charge. That being the case I'd like to use an old standard charging brick (like a samsung one) and then use a certified USB - USB-C cable to charge the phone.

Hello Everyone,
I am looking for a dash charger for z2plus , I just used my friends OP5 dash charger for z2 plus it works like a champ. But OP5 dash charger is expensive like 2k, any other suggestions on chargers ??
Thanks in Advacne !
I would say.. don't go for anything except original charger.. it can fry some important diodes on your board and I am not kidding happened to me twice...
First time, battery was empty, and phone never woke up, I had just installed custom rom maybe because of that...
Second, exchanged phone, new phone, stock everything.. and it happened again..
Then I realized it was because of the 3t charger...
Read few posts, and found out if used some qc 3 chargers it can fry the diodes cx68 something..
Better read those post before investing money...
Nonsense! QC tech and Dash Charge tech are totally different. If used, any oneplus dash charger will charge your Z2+ like a normal charger and not any faster. Dash Charge Tech is Oneplus's Proprietary and won't work on any other company phones. And Regard to Best QC3 Chargers, Only and Only buy & use Qualcomm approved QC chargers. They are tested by Qualcomm and will almost never cause any issues. The List of approved chargers can be found on Qualcomm's website.

The Zuk Z2 plus cannot quick charge (No QC2/QC3), atleast yet. Some say the hardware isn't present in the device but i believe with the other group that say it's locked in kernel. In the Fans page, a dev has posted a mod to enable QC 9V charging on kernel level. If you or anyone has QC charger feel free to try it (UNDER YOUR OWN RISKS). At Stock Charging Capabilities, the device can charge with 5.25V 2.5A max. You don't need QC chargers for this, the lenovo charger that comes in box is more than enough.
zukfans.eu/ community/ threads/ request-quick-charge-support-qc-3-0.2526/
1.5A on screen en 2.5A off screen all by 5V are the best charge number the z2 plus can do, so it does charge good but it's doesn't benefit from a dash or quickcharger like one plus phones do.
Quickcharging is charging at higher voltages for the same or sometimes even more amps. and since A*V= Watts you put more and faster the power in your battery
Hi all,
At the moment I have both OP5 and OP5T smartphones, tomorrow I will give away my OP5. I tryed to use the dash charger and cable of my OP5T to charge the OP5 but doesn't work, it works only as normal charger, not dash. Do you know why?
Thanks

Can't help with your issue but just giving you my experiences. I have bought both Oneplus 3 and the 5t and both of the chargers works similarly with both phones. When I bought the OP3 I also bought the car dash charger and it as well works with both phones.
The chargers for my 3T , 5 and 5T are 100% the same. Then only way I can tell them apart is the print on the 3T charger is faint, I used a sharpie to mark my 5 charger and I left the plastic on my 5T charger. I makes no difference what charger is used to charge what phone, they all dash charge like they should.
My oneplus 3 and 3t dash cable and charger work, I have not even used my 5t cable charger yet
OP3, OP3T, OP5 and OP5T use identical chargers and cable. My GF has a 5 and we use them interchangeably.
Also Oppo use identical chargers, but different cable. I have a bunch of Oppo chargers and use those as well just with new cables bought from the OnePlus store.
So yeah, my guess would be a problem with the 5?
That's weird. For what it's worth, my partner has an old Oppo Find 7a with a VOOC charger which looks identical to the Dash charger (basically the same company I guess), but has a 5 amp output. When I put my Oneplus cable into it, lo and behold, Dash charging is enabled on my phone. Similarly, my partner also has the Oppo VOOC 6,000 mah battery pack, and when I use a USB C to Micro USB adapter, this also Dash charges the oneplus ?.
Same dash charger but different in performance on 3t and 5t.
In my case it's different. My dash charger charges my OnePlus 3T super fine. But same charger won't charges my OnePlus 5T...it gives me a dash charger sign but unfortunately for 6/7 sec and disconnects for a second and again charges 6/7 sec....and it happens continuously. I tried that charger on other 5T device too but it's same like on my 5t... Weird experience.
So I lost my charger some days ago and since our phone supports proprietary fast charging I wanted to know if there was a way to get a similar charger to work. I tried going to the service center but they don't have the replacement charger. Thanks.

Try any type from Anker. As long as it has qualcomm fast charging, it is fast enough. Only a couple minutes behind stock samsung charger.

Edit From My Post Below. As I looked more into this, my wall charger that came with my phone is just a small 25w box EP-TA800 which I don't understand why accubattery says its getting 5,000+ mAh from it but needless to say the baseus car charger below is able to supply the 25w means while my Anker charger doesn't https://www.amazon.ca/Anker-Charger...rger&qid=1575374418&smid=AREE309N4XPXI&sr=8-5 . It looks like I need a new cable to make this 45w thing to work, if it even works with baseus. but still better then the pixel 2 xl 16.3W charging speed. But even if one where able to achieve 45w charging speeds. It would only be good for the first %50 the rest cuts down in speed.
The Baseus 45W Quick Charge 4.0 3.0 USB Car Charger For iPhone Xiaomi mi Huawei QC4.0 QC3.0 QC PD 6A Fast Charging Car Phone Charger from https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33020251902.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.27424c4dO0uWdy "usb-c version" seems to be working good. Provides the full 5 Amps just like the one that came in the box with the phone. I even got the baseus red 2m usb-c cables. I'm not sure if its a fluke or if there any good at all.
I Do Not Know if it will be just as good but, I just ordered the cheaper version https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32970589225.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.a30b4c4d1oAVXd without the display usb-c version which I won't see for another two months due to shipping. The charger said 26.2V, 9.32V and, 2.75A and its able to support 15V at 3A and 20V at 2.25
Supplying 24V to the Baseus car charger, it only supplied 9.32V X 2.75A = 25.63Watts which is about the same just using 12V
My current cable only supports PD 2.0 60W, 3 Amps
The 100W cable says it can do PD 2.0 with Gen2 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/329...chweb0_0,searchweb201602_6,searchweb201603_52
Not all cables are the same. But i'm calling this as a good 25Watt charger with cable combo just untill it burns out
Its pretty crazy that Samsung chose the latest PD 3.0 variant with PPS, requiring the odd 10V at 4.5A. Clever heat management, but until now I came up empty finding the exact supporting charger other than the Samsung original who also seems to have its challenges. This article is pretty clear https://www.gsmarena.com/dont_just_..._for_the_samsung_galaxy_note10-news-38837.php
Not that I really would want such a fast charger to become my daily driver, fearing added wear on the battery, but for the rare occasion where I really need juice and do not have a powerbank handy, following if the community finds any solution.
