8.1 Oreo OTA update no cellular data - Razer Phone Questions & Answers

I recently updated to Oreo 8.1 a couple of days ago and everything works fine, but the one exception. I can not get cellular data, but i can make calls and send text messages.
Things i have done trying to troubleshoot to no resolve:
I got a new sim card from AT&T, I have also checked APN settings (checked out okay), I have factory reset the phone.
I gratefully appreciate any help and thanks in advance.
Current Software:
Android Version 8.1.0
Security Patch level: February 8, 2018
NON Root phone.

You have 2 choises. You can A: send the phone to razer or B: flash factory images after unlocming the bootloader then relocking the bootloader after done flashing.

Thank you for the reply. I tried option 2 to no avail as now I'm on to option 1.

I am having a similar issue. After updating to 8.1 I am unable to receive cell service as well. Can not call, text, or use mobile data..
In my case I am unable to edit the APN settings as it will not save for whatever reason.
On At&t as well.

Have you tried other carrier gsm cards?
Im have 8.1 using it with telcel in Mexico with 0 issuese even when I go to the US i get Data

I was speaking to @threeuKSupport on twitter yesterday and they are saying that theres some issues with the build that Razer sent out but couldnt say what the issues where so maybe mobile data connections where one of them.

Use Verizon note 4 on AT&T

I got Verizon Note 4.
Verified that it is unlocked. Not stolen. No contract binded from Verizon store and through phone (Clean phone)
Android Version : 5.0.1
Location: Las Vegas
Insert AT&T sim card. No signal.
Change APN setting following the information on AT&T website. Still not working. No signal.
At&t store rep. said I need to l unlock the phone ( I already check with Verizon via phone and store)
Verizon rep. on phone said: I should be able to use the phone with At&t sim card
Verizon Rep. in store said : Galaxy note 4 won't work on AT&T. It needs to be rooted by an expert. Only Galaxy S5 or later version will work.
I searched websites and many say that they are using Verizon Note 4 on AT&T network (At&t sim card)
I just need to use phone and text message. No data needed.
Anybody can help me?
I was able to use SIM from AT&T before yesterday, but after trying to update the firmware using Software Upgrade Assistant tool on Windows 10, it's now stuck at 'searching for service'.
Did you change the network settings from global to lte/GSM?
I am reading this. Maybe a solution.
Did you try to insert a different carrier sim card and entering the unlock code?
---------- Post added at 09:27 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:24 PM ----------
After reading post i see you have a att sim sim on verizon phone. This could be a problem as verizon and att dont play nice. Stupid question is did you actually pay for service?

Yeah. Me either.
Did you do a factory reset after software update. Usually helps. Also mess with APN settings. Reboot after changing APN.
Problem solved.
Changing APN settings and reboot did not work. I just inserted the Verizon SIM came with the phone and made a phone call. Of course it's not activated, so I hang up when it reached Verizon automated system. Guess what, now SIM from Lycomobile works. H2O Wireless SIM also works. It means that it now can work with AT&T and T-Mobile network.

I'm in a similar boat as you (4.4.4 on Cricket Wireless, wanting to upgrade to 5.1.1). I just want to make sure I understand what you did to restore service:
1. You had phone working on AT&T with an older Android version (KK?)
2. You upgraded to a newer version via the Verizon upgrade tool (I assume 5.0.1 since 5.1.1 is not yet available via the tool)
3. You lost AT&T service after upgrade
4. You were able to restore AT&T service by using an inactive Verizon SIM and making a phone call
Is this correct? TIA

Mostly, except that I tried to upgrade from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1, but found that 5.1.1 was not yet available via the tool, but the process of installing the software on windows 10 and maybe I also used the Verizon SIM during the process which might have messed something up. I updated the firmware to 5.1.1 by downloading the zip file in a thread here and flashed it through recovery. The network connection problem was then solved by making a phone call with the SIM came with the phone.

I just updated via the Verizon tool (BPA1 finally showed up) and it was, surprisingly, perfectly fine. I first backed up as much as I can (via Smart Switch and Helium app), then pulled my mSD card, left my SIM card in the phone, and proceeded to update. After the first boot stuff (app optimization, etc.) I soon saw the AT&T sign in the notification bar, and I was able to make a phone call without doing anything else. With all the reports of SIM card locking after updating I was worried that I might run into the same issue, but was pleasantly surprised that I didn't. I had to re-enter the APN setting as the upgrade seemed to have removed it, but after re-adding Cricket's APN I was able to get cellular data as well.
Thanks again for your help
You need to access the hidden menu and change your radio and modem protocols. There's a forum on XDA called domestic and internation sim or network unlock for spring but should work the same on verizon
fyi, i got my note 4 working on gsm using 2 different freedompop sims-the at&t lte sim gets lte via band 4.
the global sim based on t-mobile did get hpsda+
just change the apn

H815 can't make / receive calls but sms / data works great?

It's a UK vodafone G4 which I got unlocked and was using my O2 sim without issues. I ported the O2 number to iD Mobile (three network) and can use SMS as well as mobile data but calling doesn't work at all.
I put a Three sim in and it's exactly the same issue. The iD sim works fine in other phones. Other sim cards work fine in the G4. It's just iD and Three sims that won't make or receive calls.
I since used LGUP to install a kdz file (V20c-234-15) in the hope anything vodafone will be removed but that didn't make any difference. In the phone Settings if I check Network Status it shows the iD connections, in Status it shows Unknown Phone Number, in Network Mode it displays 2G/3G/4G, APN shows all correct iD settings. If I search for Available Networks it displays all the usual UK networks and only lets me select iD network.
Customer service said wait a few more days after porting and suggested a faulty sim (yet works in other phones) but after both iD and Three sims showing the same issue I've not much hope in their suggestions.
I know others that bought the vodafone G4 and unlocked it for Three haven't had any issues. I only found 1 other post online that has the exact same issue as me but their post hasn't updated since last month.
I don't know what to try. Other sims work, just not iD/Three. Any ideas for me to try?
I've since tried another kdz file for lollipop as I know for sure the sim worked before the number was ported before the phone was upgraded to MM.
Still doesn't work for calls, only data and SMS.
Can anyone offer more suggestions to try?

This is a weird problem maybe your problem is modem or wrong kdz file. Downlaod right file and flash again and be sure that you click refrush that is makes wipe in LGUP.(I use LGUP)

Thanks,
I had this problem with stock rom too though. I only started trying more kdz files in the hope that might work. Issue started the moment my number ported from O2 to iD Mobile.
Wierdly the phone doesn't like Three network sims either now and those worked fine before the number port happened.
Am really confused

Not receiving calls or texts

When I change cell towers, I cannot receive calls or texts. I live in Waterloo, I'm on the cell tower by my house. When I get to work I'm on a different tower. I have data. My signal is fine. But I cannot receive calls or texts. If I toggle airplane mode on and off, boom everything works. Power cycle does the same thing.
I have an unlocked Pixel on the lastest software. 47D. I contacted Verizon and they say there's a software update for their Pixel, but don't know if it was for the issue I'm having. They say the software is NHG47Q. I cannot find this on the Google Factory Images page https://developers.google.com/android/images?hl=en
If I find this software can I just flash the radio ONLY? Would that work? Would it look my phone? Or do you know of any other fix?
I've reset the phone, got a new SIM card reinstalled the OS. I've had my account reset at Verizon. But I'm to a point where I just want to send the phone back and get a Nexus 6 again, which didn't have these issues. My Nexus 6 was Verizon branded
I think they meant 47O not 47Q...you can flashing the radio only. I would personally would just flash the factory image removing -w.

No, the only real way to "lock it up", is if you lock the bootloader via fastboot.
47Q is the August image. Having the same problem with my unlocked XL. Can i just sideload the Verizon 47Q OTA or do I need to adb the full image (minus the -w)?

Anyone who Manually flashed ONE UI?

Anyone who Manually flashed ONE UI?
I just got my S9+ and its an Unlocked AT&T Version. I would like to update to ONE UI but dont have a sim card with service as I'm waiting on Mint Mobile to send a Sim Card. Is this method of updating ONE UI Valid? https://www.theandroidsoul.com/galaxy-s9-plus-android-9-pie-download-one-ui/
Also, would it be better to change the csc to t-mobile since Mint Mobile is with T-mobile?

I just did mine recently. I had an unlocked ATT G965U. I flashed it with an unbranded G965U1 pie update and it's working perfectly. Another member gave me a pretty straightforward and intuitive guideline. I am not if he wants me to share it public as there a probably threads here explaining the process already but if you send me a PM, I can share it there. If you're going to T Mobile, you might have to go unbranded first, then go Tmobile. I am not 100 percent and maybe someone else can confirm that.
You factory reset before flashing, factory reset after flashing.... the flash Tmobile firmware, then factory reset again, then proceed to setup.

Question Galaxy Z Fold3 - FirstNet - LTE - Unable to Make Calls

FYSA:
I recently ran into an issue with my AT&T/FirstNet Galaxy Z Fold3, on Android 12, not being able to make or receive calls when on 4G LTE. When the device was set to use only 3G/2G, it could make and receive calls just fine. Our FirstNet representative worked with his folks and it was assumed that I would need a warranty replacement device. I found this to be not true.
Here's some backround on my Fold3:
1. It was moved from ATT firmware to XAA eg. F926U to F926U1 via patched Odin.
2. It was running Android 12 when I noticed the issue.
3. Reverting to older Android 11 Firmware did not resolve the issue.
Here's the steps I took to resolve the issues with my Fold3:
1. Remove FirstNet SIM from the device and flash the latest U1 Firmware, which can be found at https://samfw.com/firmware/SM-F926U1
2. Let the device boot, skip all steps requiring sign-in, and things of that sort to just get the desktop.
3. Put an AT&T SIM into the device, it does not need to be active or provisioned. Give it a few seconds, the device will tell you its updating carrier settings, etc; and reboot.
4. Turn the device off, and boot it into Download mode.
5. Flash the firmware and userdata which can be found at https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=327759
6. Let the device boot, you'll see the AT&T logo appear, and the AT&T bloat apps.
7. Replace the inert AT&T SIM with the FirstNet SIM.
8. Profit.
I hope this helps someone, this appears to be an issue that's cropped up here and there on AT&T Forums and Reddit and I figured I'd write this up as it resolved the issue for me.

Just to confirm this did in fact downgrade your device from One UI 4, Android 12 back down to Android 11 correct? Thanks.

Indeed it did. And then I updated through the OS back to 12.
I understand you flashed the U1 firmware, but what model phone do you have?
EDIT: Never mind, saw you are the person helping me Iin my thread lol
