As much as I like the stock white, or even some of the custom boot animations on some Roms...I really like a stock Black Google or White one.
But, can't find any flashable zip that will run/work on the Pixel 2 properly.
Update:
I decided to pull the dark bootanimation.zip out of the debloater/bootanimation thread, then just copied/pasted it to the system/media folder and renamed the old file. Booted and worked fine.
Agreed. I'd like the stock one with a black background and not white. I have almost no white in apps on my phone now.

I have modified the Blue Star 5 theme, the only thing I take any credit for is the status bar background, and making some changes to the drawer for the launcher (which I got from the QCTX - Older is Better theme). If anyone objects to me posting this, let me know.
I guess also I gotta take a little credit for putting the images in place and re-signing everything.
Now - this works on my phone, not sure if it'll work for anyone else. But I know alot of people are waiting patiently for a compatible theme, so I thought I would share what I have so far. It is by no means complete some elements have surely been overlooked by me. Any suggestions I will take to heart, though my time is limited to work on it. There are no icons included for Amazon MP3 store, default Email client, or the IM program. I don't use them, and haven't had time to copy over the icons. If all goes well with the latest updates, I will include those in my final release.
So here it is.
Modified Blue Star 5 RC33
Since it doesn't seem to be working for many, here is another attempt, I resigned everything and instead of "deflate" I use "store" compression - so the file is larger.
See if this one works.
This is JUST the Framework-res.apk file (only partial theme, but good to test)
Here is the Framework & Launcher, which will be a more complete feeling, minus the program icons.
Obviously the majority of the credit goes to manup456 for creating Blue Star 5! Thanks.
Without further ado, here are some shots:
Nice daveid,
This is (DaYuMu6ft7) from AD
Thanks again
Let me know if this works for anyone else... Coming soon will be the proper transparent notification window and some tweaks to selected items, etc.
Does that little android at the bottom change colors? I'm flashing it now so I guess we'll see!

sorry yall, uploaded the wrong file, try again.
also excuse me for not including the IM.apk, Email.apk, or com.amazon.mp3.apk files, I don't use them so I didn't modify them. I will update with those in the future. So please, download and try again, I will check back later to see if it was a success.

I didn't include any wallpaper.
tried it again, and it hung on the boot screen. Just went black after the G1 screen.
Wouldn't load got stuck on the second boot screen. Rebooted and loaded original theme through recovery booted up correctly.
Doesn't work
Hung at boot screen, reloaded JF 1.41 RC33
Stuck on "G1" screen
Add me to the group. Tried a clean wipe with the original JF RC33 then applied the theme - nadda.
Looks great from the pics. Can't wait to get it working.
yep. doesn't work

It sounds like you just didnt zip it up correctly. The Bootanimation file has to be zipped with the "STORE" option.... as in NO compression.
try zipping it with the "store" option and copy/flash it over.
i will try that but i even just copied the images into the stock boot animation and didn't work also tried just couple images over the stock once and the when i ran it the stock once worked just not mine not sure if the images have to be in some kinda formate
Zipped it using STORE and the first folder works now thanks getting close just have to see whats going on in folder 2 thank for your help
i have it working for you. flashable zip.
looks cool even without 3d
thanks man you rock what did i do wrong

So the media one works fine for you, cause I tested the one for sense on mine
First where are the boot screens stored? I want to use the blue Helix boot screen rather than the MIUI screen.
Secondly what is MIUI considered? I want to use Incredikernel with the Incredikontrol app.

It is AOSP so it works with incredikernel. I haven't used it in a while, but under theme manager you can change the boot animation, all you do is put it somewhere on your SD card where you remember and import it through menu, import and then find where you put it. If not I think it's under data/local. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
If I've helped you, hit the thanks button!

Guess that makes it GB since I just installed the absolute latest version.
And my last last question is where does the stock camera save the pictures?

SD Card.
10 Char.
There is a slight issue with the boot screen. I renamed the stock boot screen bootanimation.zip.bak and put the new one in its place. It was also called bootanimation.zip. Now there is no boot screen. It shows the splash screen and then a black screen for a few seconds and then its loaded. What did I do wrong?

You need to change the extension on the original from bootanimation.zip to bootanimation.bak, not bootanimation.zip.bak

In my experience the .bak is the extension once its renamed even if the .zip is there.
Regardless I figured it out. I had a zip inside a zip.

i've tried the ones to install manually and none have worked for me so i'm requesting that someone can convert them into flashable zips for CWM.
I personally only want the nexus version, but i figured i'd request both since i'm sure others want the N7 one.
where are you installing them at?

system/media as the instructions suggest. Tried 3 times. first didn't work at all, 2nd and third tries just played the animation once and went to a black screen for the rest of the boot.
so i gave this a shot, i used the 720 vertical bootanimation. it lets the phone boot but the whole rom has gone black. i cant see anything but the phone still works.
here is a link to the download thread

I had the exact same thing happen. Used adb to delete the file and everything works again. I got mine from a link from Android Police, and in the desc.txt, it says it's 720x720.. might have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. I'll try changing the numbers around and report back.
*Update
Tried changing the resolution to 720 x 1280 and the same thing happens. Putting it in /data/loca/ or /system/media gives the same result.
It's the same one as cyanogen9?? Or did they make a new one for 10?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
A new one was just released for CM10. A nice change I think.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogp9f4_yEoU&feature=player_embedded
I see that the bootanimation from the AT&T nightly is still the CM9 version.
The file from the experimental for the International GS3 has the right graphics.
That works nicely for me
Course I'm on the International GS3 but only CM9.
It's because whoever created the bootanimation.zip file used an actual compressed .zip file instead of just using the extension as a wrapper.
Below is a fixed version that actually has the correct black for the background so that it doesn't look like a hackjob on AMOLED screens.

LoL. Same thing happened to me this morning. The phone booted up but screen stayed black no matter what. I did a battery pull, booted into CWM and restored my nandroid. Then I made a request thread in the apps/themes forum and zmore hooked me up with a CWM flashable zip of that animation and it works like a charm. Here ya go.
