Holy crap, I thought mine were bad, but yours are hilarious! Hilariously bad, that is. I'm sorry to confirm that my phone also takes really ****ty zoomed photos, but I have no fix for it. I asked in another forum if their phone also takes as bad zoomed in pictures, but they said I have problems with my eyes and that there's nothing wrong with the pictures smh. Since I got the phone mostly for the camera, this is a real deal breaker for me and I returned it. Maybe if they fix it in software in the future, I'll consider buying it again, but until then I cannot use it like this.
Edit: you *could* theoretically fix this by using another camera app, but that means you won't be able to use the 1.5 aperture

I understand that phone cameras have weak sensors but has anyone come up with a way to capture pictures in .RAW format?
That would be useless for a phone with poor ISO performance and low pixel density.
You might benefit from being able to change white balance but anything else it would do no good.
Also if it would be possible, the gallery would need to be able to read raw files. It would also have a hard time creating thumbnails and viewing would be slower.
If you need raw, stick with an advanced point and shoot or a DSLR camera.
The way things are going, I wouldn't be surprised if future phones (way way in teh future) had that feature.
Though it would be interesting, it really isn't all that practical. It's more of a "I happen to have it with me camera".
I think you need one of these:

Hi there,
I rooted my DHD a few days ago, flashed codefirex... everything went flawlessly as far as I could tell.
came across a few issues, had to reflash new updates...etc. the camera worked fine though.
clumsy me dropped the phone last night but didn't find any scratches or anything on the lenses or elsewhere,
anyway, after few wipes and reflashing ROM, I launched the camera app and found this butterfly shaped patch
any idea what could've caused this? noob me got no clue honestly and since I noticed it after some messing around, I gotta ask if it could be software related (sounds stupid even as I type it)

any input is appreciated.
P.S: I did a lot of searching and could not find any topics, maybe I did not know what to look for since English is not my first language. (more like a 10th).
Oh and this "patch" dissolves when facing a bright light, and it disappears outwards when I zoom in.
Just got the idea from seeing the Donkey Kong face that was posted earlier, if you like it, fell free to download it.
Galaga

Must be honest, the pictures I got looked fine but after editing it to remove the scores and other stuff, it reduced the picture quality after saving, don't have photoshop and just used one picture editor I had on the phone. One question though, are you referring to the galaga face or you think both are pixelated? I'm asking because the one that I needed to enlarge was the Galaga one and that causes more pixelated pictures.
But will try to do it better when I have a chance, will post here when I do it. Thanks.
**Update** I just edited the original image trying to not zooming it and I think it's quality is better, try it now.
Hi!
Since yesterday I have this problem: when I open any camera app I can ear a sound from inside like "TRRR-TRRR"... I never heard such a thing before. It sounds like if the lens are trying to focus, but they can't.
And actually they can't focus anything. I tried to change ROM, but nothing changed.
So I'm afraid I have to change camera... Is it possible?
Can I try anything else before to spend some money or throw the phone away?
Thanks a lot!
Anyway, that's what a pic look like:

i been experiencing the same thing since my coworker accidently bumped on me and i dropped my phone. i think its a hardware issue not software. unless someone here can chime in. im planning on buying a rear camera part on ebay. but it might take a while.
i do hope someone here do give an input. if they had the same issue and what they did to remedy it.
Anyone else loving the cameras on your G6 ??
