Rear facing camera focusing

Recently I have noticed the rear facing camera doesn't focus. I am not sure if it is hardware or software related. I have had the phone for a while and the camera has always been great. Not sure what happened to the rear facing camera though. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a similar issue, mine focuses, but the flash sometimes doesn't go off. When auto focusing the flash will light up the scene then when I release the soft button to take the pic, the flash doesn't fire. I'm on CM10.1 (latest nightly), but issue has been evident for a few months I'd say.

You try enabling HDR in the camera options?

How do I enable HDR? I am currently on the stock ROM.

I think its a 4.2.2 only feature and your ROM must have it built in and your gapps must not overwrite it with its own camera app.

Well unfortunately for me I have the Verizon gnex. So I'm like 4 updates behind :-\ although I am rooted and my boot loader is unlocked.

[Q] Lollipop Sharpening Fix

Is there a Lollipop sharpening fix? Or a variation of Skydragon or Savoca kernel that works for LP 5.01?

I use version 3.5 from the link below on stock lollipop and haven't had any issues.

What do you mean by reset? Once it's flashed, it always works, even after rebooting.

The original script had to be reset each time. I see this is a different thread with improved version that "sticks". Also did you flash with TWRP?

Flashed through TWRP. I used the other version on KK and don't remember any kind if resetting. Just having to turn on and off the display after boot for it to activate.

The article below should help. To me, it looks like the display is overly softened, creating more of a fuzzy look. Over sharpening creates more of a jagged look (at least that's what over sharpening on my TV and PC monitor does)

Best N camera app other than stock Google one

What's a good camera app over stock app as since N update seems to struggle with focusing

I've tried open camera app from play store a lot better tweeks and setting but still getting issues focusing on close objects , anybody else have this issue on N? ,

I use Camera X exclusively. You can find it HERE. Maintaned by ViRb3, and it has good features. check it out.

The camera on the 5X doesn't have that close of a macro focus. I've tried at least 3 manual camera apps and none of them focus any better or close than stock.

Yes tried 3 now all seem same struggle to focus close ups was hope it was software not hardwear

No sound when recording video

Good evening! I am running the latest beta 6 with flash kernel and rooted with magisk. As the title says when recording video, if any quality, I get no sound. I have cleared camera data. Not sure where else to start. Ideas?

A way to use the camera flash to alert of incoming messages or calls. tried some apps always seemed to cause issues
