I just installed Google Now Launcher on Android 4.0.4 ICS and unfortunately I can not run the Launcher because it requires updating Google search
this is probably a stupid question but does the link work for 4.1.2?

nevermind, thanks it works!
I am sorry but google search means google now 3.0.and up.
You are not able to use google home due to this reason.
Google Now Launcher needs a google ics rom and google now to work.
I am still trying to make google now 3.0 for ics.
I will upload the modded apk in future if successful.
Please rechek this thread every 2 weeks.
Sorry

Hello,
Are there any developers out there with a Netflix APK for unsupported devices such as the Sprint Note 4 running the Hybrid X series rom. The App from the play store doesn't work.
Thanks
Will
If you have Xposed installed, I believe this will fix your problem.

It's also the custom kernel that causes the app not to work. On stock / stockish Netflix still works. Sometimes starkissed and certain AELKernels causes this issue as well.
---------- Post added at 06:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:52 PM ----------
For it to work properly ( workaround temp fix ) you need to install bobcat with a stockish type kernel. Start the app and login. Start a movie or TV show, stop, then go into recovery flash the AELKernel and the app should start up fine.
Thanks guys, will give it a try as soon as I get home
For some reason, installation always fails when I try installing it from the Fire TV itself. I'm temporarily using the regular Android version which I sideloaded, but it's not optimized for the Fire TV remote. I had to resort to using a mouse. I was just wondering if someone could pull the APK and post it here. The specific version I'm looking for is 1.1.4 build 145
Thanks in advance!

Install ES File Explorer from Amazon.
Install the fixed version of FireStarter aka FireStopper on Fires 5.0.5.1 or future versions or you can install the regular FireStarter on the older FW using ES File Explorer.
From within FireStarter install Kodi/SPMC or both. And update in the future from FireStarter.
I plan on making a AIO pictured walked thru in the future but not sure when I'll have the pics ready.

I deleted the Amazon launcher so I could use fire starter since it's quicker and all my apps are just a few clicks away.
I usually don't watch prime video, but they have a series I would like to watch.
How can I access prime video. I tried installing the prime video apk as an alternative to the launcher but it wouldn't install.

Anyone have the launcher apk so I can reinstall it temporarily.
I had the same problem, unfortunately you can't (as long as I know) it's been if you keep the Amazon launcher

Actually on my FTV Stick 2 I have a package called com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom.firetv which is accessible via TVLauncher 3 (a 3rd party launcher). It works just like the standard Android TV app.
UPDATE: I tried it with AppStarter and it works fine!

How can you access the settings?
uggh I have that apk, but it won't open.
I cannot reinstall the launcher since it already exists.
Under package manager it shows up as an uninstalled package.
Check out my adb commands
pm install /system/priv-app/com.amazon.tv.launcher/com.amazon.tv.launcher.apk
pkg: /system/priv-app/com.amazon.tv.launcher/com.amazon.tv.launcher.apk

moving onto different approach.
Edit:
Managed to install the tablet version of the amazon videos apk, and it crashed on open
Tablet Version: com.amazon.avod.thirdpartyclient
Original Version: com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom.firetv
The original one doesnt even crash ... it just doesn't do anything when opened
@rockon999 do you have anything else installed?
If you never uninstalled your launcher, I can see the launcher as being the dependency.
I seem to be missing some dependancy
Edit:
I got the tablet version on the Amazon Video app open BUT
Error Code: UNKNOWN_DEVICE_TYPE_ID
... can anyone help me bypass this?
--
I think I found where it the variable is defined
Code:
const-string/jumbo v2, "deviceTypeId"
What
What is the prefix that defines this variable?

My launcher is "uninstalled" for my user. I have Google Play Services installed but I don't set how that would affect it. Be careful. There are two prime video apks/applications on the Fire TV Stick 2. One is for the launching of videos from the launcher and one is for actual standalone viewing. Look in your chosen launcher for both and try both. I think the incorrect one only says "Video" w/ the correct icon.
com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom.nvidia is working very well on Fire TV

That apk is not working on newer firmwares.
Try com.amazon.amazonvideo.livingroom.nvidia

You can use Amazon Prime Video Kodi addon as well to take full experience. I'm using it since last few months and it is working fine
