So my "At a glance" on the top of the home screen just suddenly stopped showing weather for some reason. Anyone else notice this or found a solution?

I had the same problems (But on a Oneplus 2 running LineageOS) and for me switching on location history fixed it. Maybe that's why using a new acount works too because it also switches location history on by default
Yes, please elaborate because I've been having this issue since last week along with my Gmail not syncing every hour.

To be honest I think Google did this in purpose to get more information and data about us.

So you're saying it won't work with location history off even if you have location set to high accuracy?

Yep.
It's working again for me even without location history turned on

Hi All,
I don't know what does this icon mean (circled in red in the attachment).
It is not for background sync, since it is still there after I disable the sync.
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot!

that's what comes up when email syncs for me
It means account data is syncing.

LOL, yeah. it's the sync icon. you may notice it on every single widget you have, where you can press and refresh the info. or, in most menus. it means refresh/sync
Or when it tells you what it does in the setup process
This icon is there forever / syncing all the time?
I think I disable most of the sync function in apps ...
Does it cause my battery running out so fast? ...

your talking about the constant sync bug from rooting. I heard about it but never encountered it, don't remember what fixes it besides a wipe. Go ask in the dev forum
I believe that canceling all sync operations and restarting them a few times seemed to fix it for those that encountered that bug (you can do this from Settings/Sync), plus possibly a reboot... Don't hold me to it tho!
HI, I have Modaco JB rom installed and am having trouble with Google Now not recognizing my local settings. When I ask for weather it tells me my location, but it is in C not F and there aren't any card settings. When I ask for Home (which I have set in my maps account) it takes me to the closest "Home" named business to my location. I don't have any customization at all (see pic).
I am using Google Apps and have web history turned on. Also all settings on my phone (time, temp, location) are correct. It isn't the rom as this is the second JB rom I have flashed and had the same problem with that one.
Any Help would be appreciated!!
I had this problem too. It turns out that Apps accounts need to turn Google Now on for it to work. I detailed the steps here:

Damn I love this site!!!

I don't get this at all.
What if you just have a regular Gmail account that all of your services are tied to?

Then you shouldn't need to do this. When I added my normal gmail account to my phone, Google Now automatically worked. When you started Google Now, did you get the little intro/wizard thing, or did it go straight to a search box? If you got the introduction, and whenever you pull up Google Now, you get the colorful banner on top, then Google Now already works on your phone.
If you're having trouble with the Knowledge Graph cards showing up, then you have a different issue regarding your language settings.

From what I've read, along with setting your search and location settings to the US, you'll have to enable Web History and Location History.
Please help, I search tirelessly and could not find anything. I got the OTA update for JB yesterday on my GN. I was able to yesterday ask google voice search for "what is the weather tomorrow/do i need an umbrella..." and it worked gave me the weather card. However today when I do the same search it pulls up results from the web. This also happens when i try to set appointments "set an appointment for tomorrow at 8pm..." Has anyone come across this issue, if so let me know how I can resolve this.

Maybe you changed a setting or something?. If nothing else try clearing data for VS and set it up again, hopefully that will solve your problem.

Thanks, I found a setting in the GN General section (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740542&highlight=google+voice+search&page=2).
However, I am still unable to generate appointments. Could me having 2 google accounts be part of the problem?
You cannot set appoinments with google search

8 month old thread dude.
I was wondering if anyone else was experiencing this bug I am being faced with...
If I click an e-mail address link in Gmail app, it crashes Android System.

Same here - seems clicking on such a thing results in an inability to find a particular class (com.android.mail.providers.Account). Very strange.
Just checked and I don't seem to have that problem.
Perhaps there is something you loaded or perhaps froze/deleted??

While I don't have an issue w/ this - fwiw I'm all kinds of bloated outside of removed CIQ/Knox things.

I don't think so... I'm only using wanam which shouldn't be affecting the gmail app...
It's showing the little orange 'new' circle against settings but I can't find anything or clear the orange dot.
Not a biggy but annoying, any ideas?
Got the same and it can't, for the moment be cleared. It will go away i suspect after some sort of an update.

If that's the case then there's probably an update from Samsung.
Go to the settings in messages» about messages
Should be a button there to update or you can check if there's an update in the galaxy store

Possibly could be a weird bug but by chance what version of messages are you running?
And do you have any package disabler apps running like ccswe or package disabler pro?
Msg app 10.1.00.76 and CCSWE but latter has no impact. I've tested it, to make sure, by re-enabling all that is disabled.

Hmm, you're running a newer version than I am. Mine is 10.1.00.73
But the reason I asked about the app manager is that I wondering if you disable BadgeProvider, SamsungExperience and Galaxy Store, restart the phone and see if it goes away then you can re-enable them if you want to.
Edit:
Just realized ccswe doesn't allow you to disable certain apps and the Galaxy Store is one of them. Well the major thing is the BadgeProvider service (com.sec.andoid.provider.badge) that's the service that gives the little orange dot to apps and such if they have a notification. So if it's disabled then the orange dot should go away, restart the phone to make sure it's cleared then re-enable it if you want to.
I personally keep BadgeProvider disabled since the status bar already provides me info on which app needs attention.
No, that orange notification doesn't bother me. It will be resolved at some point I'm sure. Having spent hours of "fun" in the past trying to unravel experiments with blocking various apps that broke functionality in unexpected places I've learnt what apps and services to leave be.
