Hi guys. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but how do I install the 2.3 Android while i have the 2.2? Where to download and how to install it?
You can't as it's currently for the Nexus S and soon to be the Nexus One
You can get a cutom made 2.3 ROM by looking at Oxygen in the ROM forum
Thanks. Well since I don't know the risks of "rooting" or installing custom roms, I want to ask you: is it worth it? Do I lose my phones warranty?
At this point the risk of rooting is minimal (but still there is a risk) and there are good tutorial you can use. Especially this one: Turkeys' Ultimate Guide to Root Desire.
Technicality you lose your warranty when you root your phone but there are ways to revert that. However that is not possible on every phone and depends on the branding and software version.
There is some great development on the gingerbread roms, but they don't full work jet, so at this point I would not root my device just for a gingerbread rom.
On the other hand there are also enough other great froyo roms to try out.
But first thing to do is write down your software info and check if you can find a matching RUU here.
I have been an owner of a P6 for little over a year now and had been very satisfied,I am for the last year mostly with the B132 firmware except a month during the launch of KK(international) that i found was overheating my phone a bit more compared to B132 and i rolled back to it(b132).With android moving to Lolipop and forward it might be the time to upgrade but it seems a bit complicated and i would like some help with some answers.
1)The latest firmware is 4.4.2?Did any further updates happen as to performance/heat/battery consuption?
2)Having skimmed through pages i found the update process too complicated and was puzzled about the following
a-Does the phone need to be to the CN versions of the firmware to upgrade to custom roms?
b-Is there a there a schematic of the possible update paths?
c-Does updating to the next version of the official Huawei firmware wipe the phone clean?
3)If you install a custom recovery and then backup your data install a custom rom or upgrade to another version if you reload your though a custom recovery would it restore it to its original state?
4)From user experience which of the custom roms is the most lightweight and stable one?
5)Is there any custom roms that can be applied to a 4.2.2 version?
Sorry for the long post I thought it best to keep all my questions to 1 thread rather creating small threads over time.
While some questions may seem badly worded or mandatory knowledge for any android user visiting these forums,i would greatly appreciated any answers so i can avoid any misshaps. Not all questions must be answered but any help will do

1. Yes the latest official chinese and international updates are 4.4.2 (B708 chinese and B520 international)
2.a Chinese firmwares were needed before kitkat to unlock the bootloader in order to be able to flash anything custom on the phone, but now there is a command in fastboot (bootloader mode) that you can use for the same result.
2.b There are alot of schemes about updating to wanted firmware on the forum if you choose to search a little bit.
2.c Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't.
3. It will restore the rom to original state but it will leave the custom recovery on.
4. All subject of personal experience.
5. Yes search the forum for jb roms.

Hello guys,
i'm an owner of HTC one M8, with unlocked bootloader from htcdev but with S-ON.
I just want to go back to stock rom, because every custom rom i try has some issues (battery life mainly too short! I dont know if this is because of firmware, i
dont know how to update it or even how to see what is my one now).
But, the only guides i see are with S-OFF devices. Is this possible to to it with s-on?
Also, i would be s-off if there is a still working method, i've seen firewater one doesnt work anymore so there are no other solutions.
EDIT: at least guys, can you tell me how to check and/or update my firmware?
You post this on wrong section .. should be in Q&A ... I'm asking a mod to move this thread to Q&A
Read this thread, it is for both S-On and S-Off to get back to stock - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
First thing to check is fastboot getvar all result (delete serial & imei no.) then we will know what you need to do
Try MIUI7 rom

listen you can try MIUI based rom for htc it have great battery backup compare to the other marshmallow based roms,
so you first try miui rom(4.4.4) for htc , it have some bugs like google text to speech isnt working but battery backup is awesome. rom is stable though. and you cannot rollback to stock using ruu when your device is S-ON , use sunshine for S-OFF, lol pay $25

Ok i would like to not pay lel.
THE PROBLEM in using custom roms is, i think, the firmware, because i just flashed trough fastboot the roms, without updating any firmware.
I tryed Android revolution HD and Skydragon but booth had battery problems, i mean the battery was going down too quickly also with screen off (from stats, in 6 hours i say 3 hours deep sleep, 3 hours 300 mhz cpu so it didnt "relax"!
I really want top say thanks to ckpv5 that helped me in PM's and linked me his own guide to restore to stock rom, it worked and it's all perfect! Thanks man!
Just a last question: now i have the stock htc one rom, so i'm doing OTA's. This means my firmware is automatically updated with them?
So if in future i want to install a custom rom MM based, i won't need to flash firmware?
Yes firmware is updated with the OTA .. after the latest OTA 6.12.401.4, you can install latest TWRP and install MM custom ROMs .. no need firmware update anymore
Very well, thanks mate.
for the moment i'll leave the stock rom.
I will use a MM custom rom when they will be based on official MM rom for htc one m8, and not porting from M9/A9

There have been MM based Sense custom ROMs since before the new year (Viper, Skydragon Sense, Wolla, ARHD).
S.ROM is the only A9 port.
I am currently on anti 3 is it safe to flash any custom rom?I probably wont go back to miui stock again unless im trying to sell my phone. So is it safe to flash firmware provided by custom rom developers or will they change my anti value to 4?
Your only worry is flashing Miui roms with ARB4 than going back to one with ARB3. AOSP/LOS custom roms not an issue. Even MIUI roms ARB3 or 4 not an issue IF you flash a firmware-less ROM, like the ones here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/index-redmi-note-5-pro-miui-roms-t3816343
All about ARB: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-5-pro/how-to/index-everything-anti-roll-t3816219
p.s. pls be more specific in title description, its too general.
Oh sry about that. well thx for clearing things up, really appreciate it

AOSP or LAOS doesnt affect ARB.. wether they are MM ICS N or PIE.
only in MIUI rom it affects . so if you in ARB3. with miflash just flash last ARB3 9.5.17.0 fast boot rom and decide to leave bootloader unlocked or relock it with miflash theres option in bottom.. to clean all or clean all lock (relock bootloader)
Anyone tried to unlock bootloader and flash a custom rom after the official miui 12.5 stable , i'm just a little bit worried because i saw a lot of threads complaining about soft- hard breaks. thanks
edit..
its working fine

I have seen way more ppl who were successful in flashing the xiaomi eu custom rom than those who had soft breaks. hard breaks were so few. mostly because they didn't do everything in the right way. locked bootloader.. etc
I hope ppl here try to compare between the two and whether the official stock rom is as stable and good as the custom one.
I was gonna make a posting asking the same.

Soft and hard bricks were a result of trying to upgrade/change device firmware using mi flash. Unlocking bootloader shouldn't result in a soft brick. Then flashing a ROM is easy.
I think that all problems caused because there is not yet a stable twrp
