White bars watermark blurred screen after flashing RR Rom on my Z1C - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need some help here, every time i try to flash RR roms on my Z1C, and boot it up it shows 4 White bars on the SONY logo and the screen just starts blurring and it's unusable, as i have to use flash tool to restore to stock firmware (it's the only way to make it usable again) anyone been through this?

Hey there,
same problem here. After ROM install(In my case lineage 14.1 latest) the screen gets all washed out and blurry.
The funny thing: I Just revived this old z1 compact with a (probably not OEM) replacement screen off from ebay. Another z1 compact i have reacts the same way with an older build of RR - that Phone also has a non OEM replacement screen.
Say, do you have a replacement screen in yours?

I have same problem, I replace my screen. 90% of custom roms are blurry to me.

[Q] screen tint

I use my phone on full brightness and I've noticed the screen looks brighter almost different color on the left side than the right side ( visually split phone in half ) easy to.see when using stock keyboard typing in landscape the keys actually look a different color . Could this possibly be normal?? The phone is brand brand new like 3 days old straight from Samsung .
Any1 else seeing this?

Screen black means the screen looks like it's off or it looks like u have a black screensaver types.. Dere is a difference. Screen off means pitch Black.. And screen on with no display means lil grey kinda tint.

You always don't unlock your bootloader ! It possible to lose your warranty ever !

Can you tell what did you do before that happens, I mean did you install Chainfire for example or changed your DPI, just an example both of them don't brick screen.
and is your phone rooted or not, anyway you can always restore it using Sony Companion.
did u try to flash other ROMs? i mean not ftf..but from recovery..

[Q] Change Charging screen?

Hey, i'm trying to change the boring charging screen that the Nexus has, you know what i mean...? that drawl white battery that fills up with white then restarts..
I was rooting around in my root.. and i came across the images for it in /res/images/charger I tried replacing the images, but every time i re-boot the OS re-asserts the original images. Is there something i'm doing wrong? is it possible to change this?
Thanks.

Burn-in effect

Hi,
I have this problem and I have a LGD panel. There is any permanent solution? I already know about changing colour parĂ¡metres.
Thanks.
Any solution?
Try one of these videos for several hours:
https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=lcd+image+retention+
Basically there is no such thing as burn-in with LCD screens. But what can happen is that a colour is displayed too long which can make the molecules "get stuck" in it's current state. You can literally massage it to relax again with some colour flickering for a long period of time.
I have Mi5s with LG panel, and there is a solution for image retention problem. You do not need to play some videos with pixel shifting for hours
There are three ways to solve this issue, it depends what ROM are you using.
First one:
If you have stock ROM without root you need to shut down and cool down your phone for at least 24 hours. After that image retention will be gone, but will come back again, so this is only temporary solution.
Second:
If you have stock ROM and have root, install this app from play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.lumen
Grant root permissions, in battery settings allow this app to run in background and to run on startup. Open the app and in Master filter mode set custom values at 0.9 for all, save and exit.
Third and best one:
If you have custom ROM like me ( Lineage 15.1 Oreo 8.1) , enter display settings, live display, color calibration, and set RGB values to 90% and press ok.
I am using this fix for 2 months and did not seen any image retention. You can check this on all grey image/background, this is the easiest way to spot image retention.
I know this is very annoying problem, I was thinking to return my phone for warranty, but it is very hard to find another Mi5s with another type of panel, so after some time new phone will have same issue again.
Thanks for the info, Mr. Nice.
I use Epic Rom (stable) but there is no RGB settings in display options. Any alternative way to proceed?
Use can use CF Lumen app from the link above.
I tried it but the display shows burn-in as before.
None of the solution I found solve the problem. Any sugestion?
LCD panels can't have burn-in effect. But if you have that then time to buy a new phone.

Making custom logo

Does anyone know how to make custom logo for Z2?. I tried a tool for Moto devices, and every option in the tool just leaves a black image with n/a on the left side.
I am trying to do one of this Google wallpaper which would look nice with our amoled screen.
