Error 420 each of these updates are small steps so you would need to find the S4CQB2-to-U4EQC6 then work up from there, however, there doesn't seem to be a source for that specific adb sideload zip. But since you are going from Marshmallow to Nougat you probably should do a full wipe anyway. A much quicker way to upgrade for you, besides taking your phone to an AT&T store, would be to backup your phone yourself then flash the complete firmware.
Please remember these instructions will mean you can't get root access, which is possible for you right now.
1. Please make sure you have a SAMSUNG-SM-N920A phone for this! Look under Settings:SYSTEM:About Device ===> Model number
2. Backup your phone manually including contacts, photos, downloaded music, apps and data of any kind! You can and should learn how to do this using Google in case the worst happens anyway.
3. Download the February 2018 Nougat firmware from this thread, make sure to press Thanks to the person providing the firmware https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75805524&postcount=8
4. Unzip that file to a directory on your computer, you should end up with 4 files.
5. Download Odin and unzip that to a directory on your computer. Click the Odin3 v3.13.1.exe file to start it
6. Put the 4 files into the matching slots in Odin slots, selection Options tab and select Auto Reboot, Nand Erase, Re-Partition, F. Reset Time
7. Put phone in "download mode" -- Power off your phone. Now press Power + Volume Down + Home simultaneously. Let go and press Volume Up when prompted.
8. (this is it, files will be irrevocably erased) Press Start to flash the new firmware
It will take a couple minutes to boot it will have the AT&T logo on a white screen. If it hangs here for a really long time or it gets unusually hot use recovery to turn it off and ask for help.
Hard Reset: press Power + Volume Down for 7 seconds
Screen goes black: immediately presss Power + Volume Up + Home
Use Volume down to move to option Power Off then push the Power button to select it.
Try again by doing Power + Volume Down + Home buttons again
Note: It's late for me, if I missed anything or this didn't make sense search for Samsung + Odin + update + flash + firmware. This process is well documented
Thanks for quick guide bro....and it is possible for me to get root on 6.0 then how ??? Expecting a quick quide as above for root ??

If you're on binary 4 (and you haven't updated all the way) then yes the root method is in my signature. But we can't install a custom rom for the device It is just a slimmed down version of stock. I am running Android 6.01 with root and my phone is so fast and stable.
I can disable AT&T + Samsung apps permanently.
If I reboot the phone I have to do the root method again.

Download root checker app (the one with the blue android) from the Play Store. It will give bootloader info. Or use adb.

I think @CCallahan already gave you the official way, which is the "bugreport" ADB command:
D:\Android\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb bugreport

There's a bunch of stuff that dumps after that so be prepared to do a Ctl-C break after the initial information is displayed or you'll lose it when the command line buffer overflows.
Edit: I found these variations of the "adb bugreport" command in a post on another forum:
You can try if on windows :
adb bugreport | find "bootloader"
or if on linux :
adb bugreport | grep bootloader
Click to collapse
Those commands will save having to use Ctl-C to stop the report if you are only interested in the bootloader version.

Thanks for the reply guys,
I just got my note 8.0 recently and it was on 4.1, I have now officially updated to 4.2 as the french version has not had kitkat update yet.
But don't think I will update to kitkat officially due to knox, so for now i'm going to leave it on 4.2, root it and flash withs civs rom.
Do you reckon thats the best thing to do?

Is there any way to root 7.0?
Thank you so much for this post.
Last month I did the update following your instructions and I did not have any problems.
Now the life time of the battery is almost tripled and applications run much better.
Make a change to the WiFi configuration, so that it will not be disconnected every time the screen is blocked.
In general, the performance of the equipment increased considerably.
Again thank you very much.

It doesn't appear that Firmware.Science is updating their site any longer. I'm removing the link since it's useless to us now. I'll continue to try and get the Odin files as they drop and add them to post #2 for everyone
Understanding the Firmware labels
Here's a better understanding of how these are broken down
G=Galaxy S series
975U or F etc, the model of device
SQ, FX etc = CPU and model specific
U,S,E = Update, Security, Engineering, respectively
1,2,3,4,5 etc = bootloader rev(this is important!)
A = Pie rev 1(This starts off with "A" as the build that is the initially shipped on the device. S10 series is Pie)
(If you ever see a build that contains a "Z" such as this: U5ZSBA, that means the build is part of Samsung's Official Beta program. The "Z" in this context replaces the Android Version letter which hides what OS it actually is.)
R,S,T = Year (R is 2018, S is 2019, T will be 2020)
A,B,C etc = month (January A - December L).
1 - 9 and then A - Z =build compilation. This basically means how many builds there are in a month. They start at 1 and go to Z.
So G975USQU1ASBA would be
G975-U-SQ-U-1-A-S-B-A
G975U (Galaxy S10+ Carrier version), SQ (Snapdragon), U (Update), 1 (Bootloader version), A (Build Pie), S (2019), B (February), A (Build)
**You CANNOT downgrade to a lower Bootloader. So if you are on a Bootloader 2 rom, you can not go to a Bootloader 1 rom.

They can roll them out in waves. You can try to clear cache and data in the Software Update app

It should typically not take TOO long. I would recommend a reset if you're having issues

Not if you've flashed G975U1UEU1ASBA, that is a Unlocked Firmware. G975USQU1ASBA is the Carrier version and you would get OTA (AT&T/Spr/T-Mo/AZW)

I had read that, aside from the basic security patch, they made some improvements to the fingerprint scanner (and I'll have to go look for what else, I dont remember right now)

With my unlocked phone will there be any issues if I download and flash the G975USQU1ASBA version?
Thanks
They made some tweaks to the camera to improve quality too.
ARGGG! Thought I might have included the front camera ring notifications simpler than the APK on the Play store.

If you've got an AT&T SIM, then there should be no issues at all. You will get the AT&T bloat, but you can disable it and you will also get the "features" like Wi-Fi calling...

It shouldn't be an issue (aside from having to set up again)

Download the previous rom.
Factory reset your phone
Flash android 9 in odin via download mode
Factory reset once more when android 9 boots.
Make sure you are using the latest android 9 sl4 version as it's bootloader and android 10 bootloader must be same for downgrade to work

Ensure pda and csc and country of origin are same.
Download the latest Android 9 for country of origin
Oh right.. When you download the firmware from samfirmware website or from samfirm.. Pda and csc are mentioned there
But if you aren't sure, download the latest Android 9 for your country or use Samsung switch >emegancy recovery option to download the firmware
The file is very large and will take its time to download
