power/volume flex cable not working, how to start the phone? - One (M9) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so, my power/volume flex cable isnt working at all and the phone is shut down... anyone know what pin i need to short to open the phone?? or any other way i can open the phone?? THANKS!

Once you remove the back cover you can press the button with your fingers/nails. In case that your buttons are damaged and don't work you can put a piece of aluminum foil between the button and your finger, I do this with mine because of the same reason, to turn on the screen you can enable the double tap to wake the phone. Sorry for the English heh.

I had same problem my power button had been brokenh
But i manage to turn on the phone
And im using the phone very easily without the need of power button using doublle tap to wake and sleep gesture
To on ur phone without power button
Here are the steps(which i tried and workd)
1.hold down volume down button and connect the usb cable to computer. This will boot to fastboot mode , with some options
2. On ur computer (which has all fastboot drivers and adb drivers installed with usb driver) , type fastboot reboot (commanad might be different check on google for "fastboot reboot command" ) then click enter on cmd
This should power on ur phone
3. Then enable double tap gesture
4.done! Now no need of power button at all
Note:- my phone was already rooted , and had custom rom installed with unlocked bootloader, and usb debugging was enabled

[Q] My Phone Charges, But Won't Turn On!

I just got a Sony XPeria Play from Ebay, and it doesnt turn on, ive charged it, but it doesnt vibrate or anything. But it does charge perfectly fine. Please could I have some tips? PC Companion won't help and I have taken the battery out and put it back in countless times.I also need some help with fast booting my phone
How can you tell it's charging?
Are you using USB to computer or USB to wall?
I can tell its charging because the screen goes to the charging icon, and I'm using usb to computer.
If you hold the search button while its off and conect the USB to your PC does the power button light turn blue? If so you can try flashing back to stock rom.
Or if you hold the back button and connect does it turn green?
Sent from my R800i using XDA
Yeah it does turn blue, but the power button doesn't respond to me pressing it...
remove the usb and make sure everthing is off, now remove the lid of the phone and press the power button. Remember you have to leave it press a couple of seconds
I've got a feeling the power button is stuffed... It still won't do anything when I hold the power button
i would also think is the power button, cause if you hold the search button and plug the phone while it of and the led on the power button turns blue, and if you hold the back button instead and it goes green, i would say that the power button is definitively the problem
Ok..don't press the power button if you're trying to put it into flash or fastboot mode. It sounds like it's one of two things: 1. the button itself is not making contact OR part of the board is busted. Either way, if you have flashtool then hold back and plug it in the usb, flash the stock ftf and flashtool will boot your phone for you.
I hope its the former! Also when I turn on flashtool, it says I need drivers, where do I get them from? Sorry for my nooby questions.
EDIT: Found the driver installation file, now I just need a stock ftf

It's ok mate don't worry, it's not being nooby
Here is the link for those drivers:
https://rapidshare.com/files/1146432065/Flashtool-drivers.exe
Install it fully, so once you open it click next and tick all the boxes. I know some are useless but just incase select all. Thats what I did It will take a bit of time I know and messages keep poping up and just go along with and it will eventually finnish. I had this problem too.
You can find this driver installation file in the directory of flashtool aswell.
It should be in -> C:\Flashtool\drivers or something like that.
Good luck
Ok so I need a stock ftf file...

Mybe u should jst try reboot using command prompt 1st. Jst to be sure that is related to the power button or not. Install all driver. Mke sure the phne is off, hold the search button n connect to the pc n see light turn blue. After that open command prompt n type "fastboot reboot". If it reboot then u'll know its the power button related.
Thanks vokal1992
Do this:
1.- Open flashtool
2.- Hold the search button on your phone
3.- Connect usb cable while holding the search button
4.- In flash tool press the lightning icon
5.- Select fastboot mode
6.- Select Reboot in system
7.- Enojoy
Hmm, now I'm thinking it's a broken battery, because it gives up on me as soon as I unplug...

Unplug it after it reboots
It reboots into the charging thing and when I unplug it, it dies.
in flash tool, does it say connected in fastboot mode?
U need to enable the usb debugging to be able to reboot using flashtool. Mybe the easiest way is to flash another stock .ftf.
Thanks vokal1992
well, if you need to flash ftf heres a list of them:

[Q] Boot into fastboot?

I maybe missing something simple entirely, but after a lot of goolging I haven't found any answers. I'm following the guide on unlocking the bootloader for my phone with fastboot: xperiagamer.com/Beginners-Guides/unlock-the-bootloader-ramge[dot]html (cant post links yet) How ever I am unable to get my phone to boot into fastboot mode. Removing the battery and holding down any one of the following keys, back, menu vol down, shows my phone as "S1Boot Download" in control panel. And fastboot.exe does not find the device at all.
How do i get my phone to boot to "S1Boot Fastboot"?
Is there a different button I'm supposed to be pressing?
Is there some setting I'm missing?
Is there something I need to install before hand?
Phone is xperia play SO-01D.
You're not supposed to remove the battery to get into fastboot... You just power off the phone then hold down the search button as you plug it into the PC, not letting go of search until the power button turns blue

I tried :
*holding the power until given option to turn off.
*holding down search button
*while still holding down search button, plugs in usb cable
-Sony Ericson Logo Appears
-Phone goes into recharge mode
-Power button is red.
I tried this with home button and vol up button. Same thing. I was removing the battery before each try to make sure that the phone was completely powered off.
I tried using the adb on the command line"
adb reboot fastboot
and my phone just booted up normally. If it's a NTT docomo phone then is it possible that fastboot has been disabled by the carrier?
No idea if it's disabled by carrier, but it doesn't sound good
Not sure if this applies but, with the R800X and R800AT, you must have an unlocked bootloader before you can boot into fastboot....
Then to enter Fastboot you must power off the phone, press and hold the 'search' button, and attach to computer USB port.
Try installing driver on flashtool maybe.

turn on phone without power flex

how to turn on phone if power flex is damaged
Mine always turns on when I connect it to charger or PC
I think you mean that the power button does not work anymore?
There is one solution:
Connect the phone to the PC in fastboot mode and type in the command fastboot reboot - The phone will start up!
Of course the fastboot drivers on the PC are required before doing this

Hold all three buttons down till drop out to power off.
Hold down up and power up key same time.
Once you see on screen with image?
Release the power key..
Still holding that up key...
If you see that boot screen change release.
See if that works.
Hold all 3 till power down.
Make sure you if you can. Pop out the battery and pop back in if possible.
Then hold the power and that other key.
Once you see or feel something release the power key. Then once anything comes up on screen keep holding the up key for like 6-7 seconds or until u see something.
Another way is to boot into android and use adb to make the phone go into recovery reboot. Also try a program if you would like to reboot into recovery.
There are lib files and some places that reference that key layout in boot.img did you possibly do anything to change anything?
Nothing happens without reason.
I hope this information can help you.

Not work
I think I figured it out:
1. Boot up normally
2. go to Settings-About Phone-Device Info and repeatedly tap onto build number
3. go to Settings-Developer Settings and enable OEM unlocking and adb debugging
4. on your pc, download adb and fastboot
4.5 plug your phone into the pc
5. if a window on your phone pops out click ok
6. on your pc open cmd and go into your adb and fastboot folder
7. type adb reboot bootloader
8. type fastboot oem unlock
9. hold VolumeUp-VolumeDown-Power until the menu changes
10. unplug the cable and pop out the battery
11. put the battery back in and plug your phone in
12. hold VolumeUp-VolumeDown-Power
13. When you see the lenovo screen stop holding power
14. when you see No Command screen stop holding VolumeUp-VolumeDown
15. Press VolumeUp-VolumeDown-Power 2 times
16. You are in the recovery mode and you can access the bootloader from there

How to enter in recovery or Odin mode without power button (broken)

Hi everyone, I have an IMPOSSIBLE MISSION to propose!
I have an old T705 LTE tab with the broken motherboard, I found very little a wifi T701 model card sold for inoperative, it actually works or better has the POWER ON BUTTON broken, missing and it is impossible to replace because the part is was damaged !!
After so many research I managed to figure out how to turn it on (disconnecting and recharging the battery quickly !!!!)
It lights up and works and here begins the problem and the mission is impossible to unlock it and make the WIPE !!
The s tab is switched on with fingerprint or backup password !!
The English ebay user who sold the card did not know the password was actually amazed at how she managed to make it resuscitated.
What I would like to do is ENTER in RECOVERY or ODIN mode to format it, but how do I do without the power button?
I tried:
1) With ADB commands but the tab does not have active usb debugging and can not activate it because it does not enter the settings (tab with locked screen!)
2) Enter recovery or Odin mode, but also doing the task remove and put battery + vol on or vol down + home does not enter the desired mode, it normally starts. Most likely, you need the POWER key.
3) I tried with kies and Smart Switch but also tells you to reset it, now go into download mode with the vol keys down + power + home.
4) I tried turning it off to connect it to the pc hoping Odin recognized him (nothing)
5) I tried to short-circuit the power button area, but nothing to do.
No other ideas come to me !!
In a nutshell, is there an alternative way to unlock or format it without the cursed POWER ON button?
He loves the word for this impossible mission !!
Thank you and I hope to have some help from the community!
On the SM-T800, the power-button is a part of user-replaceable assembly, the one that includes also the volume buttons, the left speaker, and the headphone jack. I had to replace it because dropped the tablet and damaged the headphone jack.
