I do believe most of the roms for the P2XL are not inherently rooted. You have to go back to recovery to install magisk to achieve root after you have initially installed the rom. Have you tried to hide magisk from your AirWatch using magisk manager??

Yep tried that as well. I will test another rom and test.

Magisk hide works on airwatch but it stopped working on the last update of airwatch. So i just installed the prior version and disabled auto update.

Actually most roms seem to need to be booted once BEFORE rooting them or they loop... So I'm guessing most or none are pre rooted as of yet.

Questions about the OP3

I got my OP3 1-2 weeks . before i had a S4 (rooted). I'm really happy with this phone but i got some questions and problems.
1. When i video call via skype the camera will freeze in 50sec. when I switch the camera to the back and front it's fixed for 50 sec again and same thing happening again....
2. Rooting the OP3 is it safe to do ? And does someone got a guide for it ? I saw allot off them but I don't know which one works for Oxygen 3.2.1. I got some rooting experience with the S4 but rooting op3 is kinda different.
3. When i got a rooted op3 without a custom rom. Do i still get updates via System updates in the settings ?
Sorry for my bad English and thanks for reading.
1. Don't know

3. Wrong, with systemless SuperSU and/or systemless Xposed you still get OTA updates.
Proof: Myself (have the 3.2.1. OTA Update ready to download with systemless SuperSU and systemless Xposed.

Via TWRP both.
Here you can find the systemless SuperSU https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/guide-oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-root-nandroid-efs-backup-and-more.448149/
And here is systemless Xposed: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268

Seriously? I've been told several times installing a custom recovery and OTA is a no go...
But thanks, I'm still stock but I don't know for how long. I'm still a flashaholic inside.

You are right that you will get a prompt for upcoming OTA updates.
But they won't install because your kernel and system are not stock.
My device is also rooted systemless and I can confirm that you will get an error inside TWRP
when trying to install the OTA patches.
When rooted, regardless which way, it is always necessary to flash the full rom zip.
So in the end @J_Dutch was right to say that you won't get updates
because you will always have to manually flash the full rom.
On the other hand, when somebody only uses TWRP (for backups for example) without modifying the system and kernel at all,
OTAs will work just fine.

Xperia Z5 Premium - Magisk Error

Hello everyone
Recently due to Niantic's decision to prohibit root users of playing Pokémon Go I decided to give a try to Magisk. I followed every step and even flashed my ROM again.
But when trying phh's root it wont work. Rootchecker says root was not correctly installed and trying to use any root app won't make Superuser show any prompt for root permissions.
Thank you so much for the help guys.

What is your ROOT Method, That makes a difference since there might be a conflict in ROM (Preinstalled mods or apps), also, What ROM is it?

I flash Magisk v6 and phh's on TWRP. On the other hand I use the stock ROM MM 6.0.1 build 32.2.A.0.253
Apparently Magisk doesn't work properly on Sony devices. See topjohnwu's OP in the Magisk thread.
It partially works for me with some apps like Adaway and TiBU requesting for permissions and working properly but with most other apps not requesting root.

Temporary unroot?

Dear all,
I have my Z1C on the latest FW with Dual Recovery and root (SuperSU) but locked bootloader. Now, some apps will not run when they detect root. Can I "unroot" the phone in a convenient way and "re-root" when needed? Without using King Root and while keeping all my data etc.?
Cheers,
Ben
If you are willing to use Xposed, you can use a module called "RootCloak" which is used for hidding root from such apps which don't work unless your phone is not rooted.

Thanks. So Xposed works with Dual Recovery/locked bootloader?
I was hoping I could just uninstall SuperSU and re-flash it in TWRP to re-gain root.

I think it works with Dual Recovery, I'm not entirely sure though, same for Lock/Unlock BL but it should not impact how it works.
Also there is an option in several app for Root to disable it (Completely but you can re-enable it very easily)

There is in the version of SuperSU I am using, but it doesn't seem to work for the banking app I tried. Root cloak reportedly works for it, but I was unsure if Xposed would work with my config and did not want to risk a boot loop or similar.

It should work independently of your recovery so no worries. You can still download the zip to uninstall in case of something gone wrong or do a Nandroid backup to be sure

I guess I'll try this WE.
I tried it. In SuperSU settings I chose permanent unroot, rebooted, and voilà: The banking app worked. Then I flashed the latest SuperSU in TWRP, and root was back. Neat!

How can I change my Android Emojis to Emoji One without Root or bypass Safetynet ?

Hello Guys,
I have a Oneplus 3 with Oxygen OS 4.0.1 with locked Bootloader atm because when I try to use Android Pay with Root and Freedom OS it doesn't work
I figured out that this Safetynet fails when I unlock my Bootloader but
I would like to get the EmojiOne Emojis back in Whatsapp and Android Keyboard is this Possible ?
Is there a Way to bypass Safetynet that I can use Root and V4A again ?
(I already tried Magisk)
Greetings
Magisk has an emoji one module, root, etc while passing safety net

It doesn't work on Oneplus 3 because it's nearly Stock and the Safety Thing checks for unlocked Bootloader......
I managed it by installing a custom Whatsapp Mod and maybe a custom Keyboard soon.....

In fact, Magisk patch the bootloader dm-verity (which is used by SafetyNet to check if your device is unlocked), so juste flash a completly stock system, check SafetyNet, and Install latest Magisk with the modules you want, reboot and you're good to go !

Working perfectly with the normal way of unlocking, installing TWRP and flashing Magisk
What can you do with root before it breaks ? (Xposed,Substratum,Adblocker or V4A working ?)
What were your Steps to get it working ?
Do you still have the DM-Veriy Warning on Boot ?

I'm running Open Beta 13 with an unlocked bootloader and Magisk with Substratum. I would recommend unlocking your bootloader, flashing stock, then rooting with just Magisk, not SuperSU. I followed these steps and I have it working, SafetyNet passed.

Its working perfectly on op3 with magisk. So relax.
You must check magisk hide in magisk settings ofc.
Running latest freedomOS CE and all good. Magisk, safetynet, V4A, abblock, substratum. All working.
So stop saying it doesnt work with unlocked bootloader, thats just bull****.
Update to latest version of Freedom OS.
I think you should try updating your ROM to latest version of Freedom OS. Has everything you need.
Thanks Guys
It works

Magisk installed on androidO but can't installed modules?

I successfully installed magisk by flash zip in twrp but fail to install modules. Is it because the module isn't for Oreo or because of the magisk framework?

I just flashed it through twrp.Maybe it has something to do with kernel elementalx that i have already installed. Even though magisk was successfully installed i can't open the manager sometimes and as you see i can't use any of its modules.
I do hope this will help.
I'm new to XL. From Magisk author in last post of this thread, XL isn't supported
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445/page3
I used Magisk on 6P with Oreo....works great and easy. Not sure if it's ready for XL yet. I still have to unlock and then choose recovery method and root method. Although some are flashing trial TWRP versions, it seems that fastboot TWRP is still safest and mainstream method?
Then to root. It seems Chainfire SU is preferred method and it has SU hide option if you want Android pay? He does say the suhide method is probably temporary...
Do I have this right?

There are some RC versions, but it doesn't sound like they're ready for prime time yet.....like it takes 10 minutes to boot.
