Problem: conecting A5 to Laptop - Samsung Galaxy A3, A5, A7 (2017) Questions & Answe

Hi, I am needing some help. I connect my A5 to my laptop but a pop up from Win10 says that doesn't recognize the usb device. And continue saying that the last usb device connected didn't work correctly and windows didn't recognize it.
I think this happened after installing ADB and some other things like ZX3 to try to unlock my A5 and then uninstalled them, so perhaps I deleted some drivers in the process.
Can you suggest any solution for me to try?
Thanks in advance!!!!

Try connecting your device and then deleting its drivers in the device manager. After that reconnect it and it should show up as normal. Let me know if it helped

No, already tried that. Same message. Thanks!

I tried another usb port on my laptop, and recognize the phone. I don´t know we after some cel phone configurations I lost connection and recognition.
I tried again the first port and touch some items in the developers option, set the MTP protocol and now it seems working.
I stil don´t understand what I have to do to establish a good connection for every time I need it.
Regards.

Hi all. I'm back because I stll have the same problem. Can't connect A5 to laptop. The message says that there is a bad descriptor. It is the 43 error code from window 10. I tried downloading lastest Samsung drivers that comes in an .exe file and installed them. But same error.
Even trying to update the error driver to the lastest samsung usb driver, window says it already has the latest drivers and do not installed them.
Every suggestion from searching in google tried. Don't know what else can I do!!!!
Thanks for your suggestions!!!!!

SOLUTION!!!!!
I was using an old usb type-A cable with a usb type-a to type-c adapter. I tried using the original Samsung cable and it worked!!!!
I can believe this was the problem!!!
Hope I can help another with this! Thanks to all for your support!!!

Hi, I continue finding problems to connect A5 with Laptop. After finding the original problem was the cable, I now use always the original cable.
The problem is that the phone doesn't appear in windows explorer unless I go to developer options and set the USB configuration from RNDIS (Ethernet USB) to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol). After that, a pop-up appears asking for permission for data access. I have to agree with the pop up to see the phone in the laptop.
I think I have to change permissions to granted for ever the MTP. Am I right? Where do I have to set it?
Thanks in advance!!!!

New update!! I have just chat with Samsung. The told me to dial *#0808#. That access the USBSettings options. There I changed the default to MTP + ADB.
Now I no longer need to access the development options. It still appears the pop up, asking for permission, but for now I can live with that!!!

W7 wont recognize

I just got my data cable in an accessory bundle from hong kong(ebay). Installed htc sync and when I plug in my phone to the PC I get a usb not recognized error. I tried on a different laptop and same problem. Could it be the generic usb cable?...or did I miss something somewhere?
which os are you using. I believe if you are using win 7 64 there is an additional driver you have to install. I know i did.
windows 7 64 bit. Is the additional driver a separate download or is it in the sense folder??
when you plug it in...does it start charging? do you get the USB connection sound?
if the PC has no response to the phone being plugged in, then try swapping the cable.
if the PC does respond (in any way..lights, sounds, etc) then it's prolly a software issue.
did you actually try doing a google search on this?
something like: evo windows 7 64 "usb not recognized error"
http://forum.androidcentral.com/htc-evo-4g/22285-usb-device-not-recognized.html
http://www.htc.com/us/support/evo-sprint/downloads/
... updated version of HTC Sync
http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/94/tags/Windows+7/default.aspx
http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/94/p/5082/23208.aspx
... a problem with the USB hub.
it was a seperate download i cant find it on my pc but i got it off the guide for adb in development forum. hopefully that works for you.
Thanks for the links magic, but I found those when I actually did search before making this post. None of them worked. I did find a more detailed tut on how to root, so maybe something I missed is in it.
Still havent been able to figure it out. When I connect the device and open device manager I get an !unknown device. I click it and "view drivers" and says none are loaded. SHould I boot into safe mood and try all of this?...or disable driver signature or something??
i've had this issue in the past...in my situation is was a bad port...
you may want to reload everything on the phone though... i've ran into situations in the past were i flash a rom and the usb stops working i am able get the usb to work again by reloading the rom

sounds like you just don't have the drivers. they're around here, or, you could update the sdk and the drivers are included in the package. you'd have to do the devmgmt.msc command w7, right click on the device, search for drivers, they're in the sdk usb driver folder.
or, someone around here posted them up somewhere. search.
Thanks for the help guys, I did all of the updates and what not, removed all the associated devices to all usb ports and none of that worked.
I decided to just go the easy route and rule of my generic cable, went to best buy and picked up a new one (data pilot) and it recognized it asap.
Thanks for the help though.
thanks for the update. TBH...the cable was lowest on my list of possible issues.

USB not work

Huhu,
i have issue with my usb connection.
If i connect it to the laptop it say Unknow Device (error code 43). Then it only charge.
I looking up the internet for 2 days now.
Someone said Unknow device is always a driver problem.
Found some driver called samsung/sgs2 driver. But that wasnt working.
Debugging modus also not help me.
Maybe someone have an other idea?
Try this
1. Turn off phone while still plugged in to your computer
2. Press Volume Button Up and then Power button to turn it on in bootloader/or recoverymode
3. You should hear a typical usb connecting sound. (if not you can unplug and plug the usb until you hear it)
4. Unplug it to hear the usb disconnecting sound.
4. Restart your phone and then allow it to turn on as usual, allow it to load everything before.. doing #5
5. Try plugging it in and test.
i tested it but not get a sound.
bootloader say waiting for usb ;/
Uninstall any previous drivers you installed and install these. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961956
They worked for me.
These are the drivers i already tried.
But they not work for me ;/
If you're laptop is Windows:
-install Samsung Kies....after that, plug your Glide, there should be a prompt "Installing device drivers" and/or "Searching Windows update..." Wait for that to be done and you should be able to connect.
Same thing with MAC,
I tried that befor but not work ;(
Does i have a chance to flash the phone without usb?
can i install CWM withouth odin?

Phone Not Connecting to Computer Via USB - HELP!!

i got an S3.. and my computer has xp pro. i had to restore my computer recently from a saved image of my system. before i restored my computer, i was able to connect my S3 to it via USB with no problem. but after i restored it, i'm unable to.
i downloaded and installed the MTP driver, which got my computer to recognize my phone before i restore it. but now its not working and i dont see it listed in Device Manager. whats weird is that when i connect my S3 to my computer, the phone doesnt give any notifications that the phone is connected to USB like it used to before. and it also doesnt give me the 2 options of connecting by either MTP or Camera. all it does is charge my phone. how do i fix this?

You also might get the pdanet usb driver and install that in your PC in order to get the usb to recognize an internet access via USB.
You should be able to download the USB driver from PDANet's website.
Just a "maybe" thought. Hope it helps!
You might first want to check this link out:

Huawei W1 no connection with pc

I have no idea what I do wrong, but this is what I tried:
I enabled adb mode on my Chinese watch
The watch is in fastboot mode
I installed all drivers, pdanet didn't work (no usb connected)
Once I put my cable in my laptop and it said: USB error, try again later or something like that?
no adb response in the commands. just blank... in the devices list, there is no sign of my watch...
It charges normally. I could really use your help
Somehow I found the chinese wear OS so I can use it. at least that is something. Is there any way to get in in English or Dutch without adb?
My other laptop seems to see a 'unknown usb device'. no adb device found...
I have no idea... maybe it's due to the unofficial cable?
I bought an expensive cable, the original, but no laptop can see the watch (windows 10 and windows 7)
The old cable is some sort of ok with the windows 7. I get an error 43 in devicemanagement.
Please help... I have no idea what I can do now...

I've posted this many times in the various Huawei forums and it has worked for everyone so far.
First, remove all other drivers using USBDeview.
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Then use this tutorial to manually install the Google USB driver.
http://visualgdb.com/KB/usbdebug-manual/
Good luck!
edit - here is a fool proof method.

i am also bugged with this.
the win7-pc says unknown usb device detected. i turned dev mode and adb on.
then i tried to manually install the driver from the android sdk. when i try to select the driver windows says there were no driver found (but the driver is there) and i should make sure that the driver is written for x64-systems. WTF?
and even the watch does not charge wenn via usb 2.0 or 3.0 connected - but its connected cause of the message from the pc.
in the device manager the watch is listed as unknown device.
that's exactly my problem...
I have done everything. I'll try to connect it to my linux pc, I got an old laptop with ubuntu or something like that (haven't used it in ages)
maybe that will do the trick. I installed everything manually. my win10 can see an unknown device as well... but that's about it...
maybe dev mode is not working on some watches even when its enabled. or it has something to do with the 2.0 Version auf AW and it affects not every watch.
Its funny. I've been trying to get my HW1 watch to connect to my PC for a year now. Have tried numerous different cables and the original that came with my watch didn't work. Different PCs haven't worked either. Unless I'm that unlucky with all these OEM cables or the ADB debugging toggle really doesn't work for USB connections. It works just fine for bluetooth and wifi, neither of which allow you to unlock the bootloader. Guess I've got to wait for the next update manually and try again.

As regards the attaching of files, you have to have a minimum number of posts to be able to do that.
As regards the USB, be a little more specific like what you are trying to do, which ROM you are running, whether you are rooted, what happens when you connect the phone to PC etc which will enable the members to help you.
There could be several reasons for this, but lets start with the basics.
Have you tried a different cable?
Have you selected File Transfer (MTP) from usb options?

I get a windows sound like its connecting then in the bottom right where the time is next to that is a root sign then I get a pop up saying exactly.....The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it. Recommendation.. Try reconnecting the device. If Windows still does not recognize it, your device may not be working properly. When I go to the Device Manager/Control Panel it doesnt do anything. I've tried to add adb to the path but maybe added it to wrong path now it won't come on. If there is a work around maybe to re-add to right path. Device Manager was fine before I added adb and added path as per internet search. Device Manager before would say something like error 39. I've tried MTP that doesn't get it to open up either.

I cant even root for the life of me now, Im on 8.0, I'm trying to just root the phone and to start the computer has to recognize it I understand but it won't, with my Oneplus 2 was fine,(I'm thinking maybe phone doesnt have the drivers built in to the file system, you know when you plug in and turn on MTP it shows the drivers app for Windows?) the only thing it errors plugging in.

On my son's pc running windows 10, I didn't have any issues connecting my OP3 to it and viewing files, nor did I have to install any drivers, same for Windows 7.
Hook phone to pc via usb cable.
Pull down notification bar and select "File Transfer" from usb options or go to Settings and search USB and select USB Preferences > File Transfer.
Browse phone from Window's file manager.
If still having issues, you can try and install Oneplus USB drivers, reboot pc and see if the phone can be recognized.

If you are running Win 10, you will have to disable driver signing before the correct drivers are installed. May be that was your issue.
