Impossible to connect to 3G or HSDPA, only EDGE

Hello guys!
I'm from Mexico and I just get a flat data plan for my Diamond but there's no way to get a 3G connection and neither HSDPA.
My carrier is Telcel.
I've already tested the following radios:
3, 5, 6, 8, 11, 14 and 18 with no succeed.
I also replaced the SIM Card for the latest version (v.4) and nothing.
I don't know what else I can do.
My brother have a Tilt and he connects to HSDPA easily; comparing the 2 devices the only difference I noticed is that when selecting the WCDMA band on the Tilt makes the connection with no trouble, but if I do the same on the Diamond, it never make the connection to the network.
Does anybody knows what can I do now?
Should I wait for a new Radio or there's no way to conect to HSDPA on my country with the Diamond?

Does your carrier supports 3G?

What 3G band do you carrier use, and which version if diamond did you get? It might be that your carrier use 850/1900mhz 3G band, and you got a Euro version diamond.

Is 3G actually switched on or are you camped to 2g? Check COMM MANAGER and make sure 3G is enabled?

1. You havent told us which phone version you have. US or the original one?
2. If you "refuse to believe" anything, your'e not going to get accurate data, now are you?

1. I don't know the version of my phone; I bought it in the US but this was before the release for US, so I'm not certain.
Is there any way to verify which version I have?
2. I said I refuse to believe that because of the great programmers that are loose in this forum; they can do practically everything they want if the device is capable; and I'm pretty sure the Diamond is compatible with this network; I'm hoping there will be a Radio version that will activate [email protected]

I forgot where to check this, but do check if your diamond is DIAM100 or DIAM110. If you got DIAM100, then it mean you got the Euro version, so no 3G for you.

Front Camera
More easy, if you have the front camera you have European Version, and not have 3G, the american version not have front camera.
Lamentablemente nos engañan permanentemente, si es cuatribanda en telefonía pero no en 3G- y según los que saben no tiene arreglo porque es un tema de hard.

Pero no te conecta a 3G cierto??? Creo que yo tambien voy a vender el mio, digo la verdad me encanta pero es europeo y por lo que veo de plano si es un tema de hardware o al menos no veo que alguien este haciendo un esfuerzo serio para ver como utilizar un Diamond Europen en 3G Americano.

No North America 3G in this version. It is not a software fixable issue. It is much easier to come to the facts when one believes...

No, no me conecta; al menos no noto diferencia de velocidad.Por algun motivo consume una cantidad enorme de batería y se enciende el icono de 3G en lugar de la E que tengo en los otros roms.

Yo tambien ya cambie con todas las rom, y checando el foro esperando a que alguien haga el milagro, pero creo que ya valió...
Lo que si, es que de todos modos con el plan ilimitado me sirve bastante bien el cel, y checa mi correo cada 10 minutos, con un uso normal me dura entre uno y dos dias la bateria. Estoy utilizando la version elite 3.0 WWE y radio.05 con buena recepción.
Ahi si se enteran de que alguien hizo lo imposible y hace funcionar la version europea con 3G me chiflan...

Screen in american version
The american version have a yellow screen (cremita) and the european is snow white. If you have both in your hands for me the european is better.

Si no usan el 3G la eropea tiene una pantalla muy blanca y la americana es medio triste y le faltan contrastes (tuve las dos en mis manos), por lo tanto analicen bien que quieren, ya que está por salir a la venta la bateria de 1300 original y queda un maquinón. Si son 3g dependientes no tiene arreglo

According to HTC, they told me that the 3G Touch Diamond that has no front camera is the same as the European version. On my phone I show an H, most of the time and E all the other times. Every now and then I will see 3G, but just for a second then ..x...then it picks up E.

[Q] 3G and Apps Connection not working after flashing CM7

Hello,
I'm from Peru. I just flashed CM7 1.0-RC1.5-jordan-signed to my Defy, everything went well but I couldn't get phone calls or 3G to work, so I changed the baseband to Brazil Claro (couldn't find the one for Claro Peru). Then Phone and sms worked fine but no data connection at all. I managed to manually change the APN parameters with a Claro Peru web tutorial and the "H" finally appeared.
However, I can navigate over browsers (opera mobile and android stock one) but apps cannot connect. And I mean every app (K-9 mail, Gmail, Facebook, BT Gangsta game, and anyother that uses data connection).
It has to be with the baseband or apn parameters are wrong? Anyone with similar experience? Do I have to fix or flash anything else?

Same problem here.
Upgraded to CM7 1.0-RC1.5-jordan-signed and everything is working fine except these:-
1.> My defy keeps on loosing signal. And when I do manual search for network, it gives me airtel and Idea but not Vodafone. All other people are fine on Vodafone.
2.> No edge. Getting G instead of E in the notification area
3.> SMS do not have threaded view.
4.> Music player no longer displays lyrics as it used to do in the original.
The original version was: 3.4.3-36-1.7
Apart from these issues, everything is working just perfect. loved the overall look. Much better then the original.
So any help will be highly appreciated.

As suggested in another thread, deleted the Cache and delvik cache as well.
Signal strength is still very weak and is failing to detect network after every 1-2 hours.

I'm from Peru too, so there is no point to respond in English, i guess... mi defy primero tuvo el RC 1.0 y me paso lo mismo, solo tenia wifi y no se conectaba a nada mas, de ahi investigando llegue por fin al APN, pero aun asi no se soluciono nada, investigue un poco mas y llegue igual q tu al tema del baseband, la verdad yo tb probe primero con el de brasil, pero no me soluciono casi nada, por ahi consultando me pasaron el dato que con el baseband de china todo iba ok (China RT 0.26.0_1.11.0) asi q lo puse y desde de ahi todo me funciona sin problemas. Como adto extra, hace una semana lo subi a RC 1.5 y la configuracion se mantuvo, pero si has leido por ahi veras q a algunos le daba problemas con el wifi (me incluyo) pero una vez instalado el nightly todo se soluciono

ES: Estoy seguro que el no es el unico con este tipo de problemas, y la respuesta podria funcionar para mas gente. Asi que bueno, si hay "punto" en responder en ingles. Sin mencionar que es un foro en "INGLES", creo que las normas de XDA son explicitas..

Well, It wasn't my intention to be rude or sound like that, I just said that I had the same problem and using a chinese baseband (China RT 0.26.0_1.11.0) solved it. I also said that a week ago I installed CM7 RC 1.5 and I had wifi issues (dc and rc a lot) but installing the nigthly version fixed it.

I managed to make it work with the brazilian claro baseband, but had to manually set the APNs again. Now my Defy is working just fine. Info on how to configure the APNs for peruvians using CM7 is found in the peruvian Ideas Claro site. Just google 4 it, is self explanatory, but if anyone has trouble finding it, I'll be happy to post all here.

Hello guys, I'm from mexico and I have a Lumia 900 with CLaro from Perú. My problem is I want to use it here in Mexico but the phone keeps asking me for a code. It says I should ask my operatior (Claro) but I don't think they want to give it to someone from Mexico. Any ideas? Can anyone find out the code or know something?

[Q] Confirmation about MT15i hardware

I have a MT15i device bought in Spain.
¿Is there any hardware difference between MT15i and MT15a? I mean, HW differences in frequency bands they can use.
I have browsed forums and the answer is not completely clear.
If the hardware is capable of accessing the same bands, I can flash a MT15a firmware in my device and get to use 3G in Mexico.
Am I rigth?

Sí, la diferencia está en la antena y en que frecuencias puede esta misma agarrar. Las versiones "a" son para America y la "i" para el resto del mundo. Lo curioso es que se comparten frecuencias, pero lamentablemente para México, donde la frecuencia para el 3G es 850, sólo la puede agarrar la versión "a".
Igual lo puedes usar en 2G, aunque la velocidad para datos en internet estará bastante reducida.
Y no, flashear un firmware diferente no cambiara nada salvo el nombre en la información del dispositivo.

The fact that your device is MT15i already means that your phone is an international variant and so the hardware is the same.
MT15a is the American variant of the phone and the software may come with a network lock. Other than that, both devices should be the same.

popthosegaskets, can you assure that the hardware is exactly the same??? So, if I flash with MT15a software I will be able to use 3G on Mexico.

Does data and the apns works for you? I did everything as it was in here i can call in and out but the data is not working.......
Te funcionan las redes? no me aparece nada de 3g, 4g h+, o GSM.... nada

si funciona las redes, pero no me funciona es el GPS creo que esto si no se puede arreglar, y ya modificaste la apn desde #DATA# para mi caso la configuro automáticamente no tube que hacer nada pero aclaran que se debe modificar, al hacer todos los pasos si te da señal oses puedes hacer llamadas normal

It works. But I can not perform profile update on Sprint anymore. Any way to undo these change and restore back? Can you post the original bat file in the simfree.exe? That may help. Thanks in advance.

sabes cuel fue mi mejor opcion ya que por este metodo no funciona el GPS entonce fui a donte un tecnico que tiene un sistema que llema OCTOPLUS y quedo original con las redes libres

Help efs backup e977

Hello people
I have a little problem with my OG E977 , which in Venezuela 3G connection does not grab me , I only 2G connection .
I've tried everything , I've placed the rom stock factory , the KDZ e977 of Venezuela 20A and still have the problem, have placed him my backup as well as modem and the sais , but still can not use the 3G connection.
I have been told that the only way to fix it, is that someone pass me your efs backup, and thus change my imei , to see if in this way can fix it.
Anyone who can help me, thanks in advance .
I guess it has to be someone other than Venezuela , or no longer possess this phone .
The backup has to be the E977 , probe with e975 and it did not work

Hola, en la parte de redes puedes detectar las redes 3g de movistar y movilnet? parece mas un problema de hardware, has cambiado alguna vez la carcaza trasera o abierto el cel para algún cambio de pieza? las antenas se conectan mediante contacto y están en la parte trasera.

Buenas noches amigo.
No, el telefono nunca lo he abierto, en redes me salen las 3, pero todas GSM (2G), intente abrirlo, pero no puedo, saque los 2 tornillos de abajo, pero la tapa o es dura, o no se la manera correcta de abrirla.
La idea que tengo la saque de este post en Htcmania http://www.htcmania.com/showthread.php?t=836255 en el cual indican que el metodo que logro solucionar mi problema era con el cambio del efs.
