I don't think so, the specs have now been officially releases https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s9-8966.php

Unfortunately NOT : http://www.androidbeat.com/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s9-ir-blaster/

No IR Blaster on Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+, but possible alternative.
So this is correct. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ DO NOT have a built in IR Blaster. The Samsung Galaxy S6 variant was the last one to have that feature. I do think that you may be able to download a Wi-Fi to IR Blaster. You may have to try several apps to find one that is successful though. This may take a little time, but maybe worth it in the end. If you or anyone finds one, please list the app here along with the device you used it for successfully. Good luck!

[Q] Dual Sim S4 Mini ....... Hidden Features?

I have the i9192 model and was wondering if some of the features that are different from the other S4 mini models are present in the hardware but missing due to software.
For example NFC.
Can some of these be hidden to be turned on later officially or unofficially with software modifications?

Concerning NFC there's no NFC antenna so I guess you can forget (I don't really understand NFC is usefull for but anyway)
4G will not happen in case because of the hardware also and except things like smart rotation or other feature in the galaxy s4 (full software) I don't really see any thing they would have hide.
What they did in fact is hidding the knox capabilities and it avoid warranty when you want to do anything else than upgrading to new version .
I thought that the NFC antenna is normally in the battery.
I though it was in the back cover I guess it depend of the version.
And it seems to be written on the battery when oinside the batterie.
And it does not look to be one :/
Anyway what's NFC usefull for ?

Well my question was what NFC usefull for, now you phrase it, it does sound like (in my hears) as completly useless
But I guess there is still some fun features to use with that.

[Q] Does the Smartwatch 3 have an infrared blaster?

Hi everyone, just got a SS3 and it's easily the best Android Wear device out. I'm curious though -- does it have an IR blaster?
There were numerous reports that the Smartwatch 3 included an infrared emitter/blaster. However, I don't see an IR port on the device and it seems pretty clear it does not have this functionality. Can anyone confirm?
I did several searches through the SS3 forums and nothing turned up, so I assume no one else has asked this question.
Nope not that I know of.

That's too bad. The early press releases indicated that it has an IR blaster -- but it's pretty clear that it doesn't have one. Thanks for the reply!

No problem. Yeah I wasn't aware of that. I don't think any current smartwatch has that feature. Definitely would be nice though. Maybe in the next version of the Sony Smartwatch.

IIRC Gear 2 Neo and Gear 2 have IR functionality. Maybe even the original Gear has it. It's weird that the Gear Live didn't include it, but it's likely because Android Wear doesn't seem to support IR functionality at present.

Oh okay. Well then yeah, probably exactly that then. Still waiting on Android to open up WiFi and NFC capability that's built into our watches.

IR Blaster?

I don't suspect there will be, since no one seems to make them anymore, but does it have an IR blaster?

Sadly no
They opted out because the majority of people do not use that feature.
I never use it so I won't miss it.

IR remotes now are being replaced with Bluetooth remotes. But would have liked to see the IR blaster not phased out.
For me it's OK, as I used it one time on my M8 and in fact never on my M9. This depends on the user of course. Just my 2 cent.

I have to admit I loved having one but sadly I never used it. All the roms I would flash... I got sick of setting it up. It will be missed but not a big deal
I use Anymote and control EVERYTHING in my house with it on my M8. Even the rotating fan has a remote.
I was hoping to get a tablet to take care of this burden, but even they don't have the ability on newer models.

The old fashioned way I suppose. Just don't do it a lot or you'll go blind
I personally I use this thing a lot. Also if I'm flashing new rom, I'm using titanium backup so I won't have to setup peel smart everytime. Very useful if you aways lose the remote ? for the TV's, audio system, air conditionin =) and etc

So true. My kids keep losing the remotes. It's nice to have all the different TVs programmed into my phone so I don't have to hunt around for them.
What of keeping your old device as a remote, for game playing and/or navigation when on the go, and your 10 for all the other brilliant stuff

Anyone know what the range of that is. The range of the ir blaster on the HTC M series is phenomenal.

That's what I thought. I researched this already.
Not sure if it actually works.

It says the IR blaster is based on the level of output of the headphone jack, and from my understanding that the headphone jack on the HTC 10 is suppose to be loud due to a dedicated amp, so if it worked it should work well. The only issue is that you would either have to keep the IR blaster plugged in at all times or find it when you need it and it isn't very big.

We could get around not losing the ir blaster when not in use by using something like this ( http://www.amazon.com/Smartphone-Ph..._cp_107_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1R3B4XGBYBXVKHZTMWRF ) connected to somthing like this ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Female-to-F...653666?hash=item3a94914d62:g:XW4AAOxylwpR4ugb ) connected to the ir blaster attached to keys. Or if someone could find a 3.5mm jack cap that we can hook a laynard to.
Or just buy 20 ir blasters and place one everywhere.
Also here is another style ir blaster I think its lower profile and looks cool. http://www.ebay.com/itm/121870964868?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

3.5 mm infrared jack.

The only thing putting me off ordering the 10 is the lack of IR blaster which I use daily on my M9 and previous HTC's.
Just found this: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/USAMS-Smart-IR-Remote-Control-3-5mm-Jack-Dust-Plug-TV-Air-Conditioner-Projector-IR-Controller/32706339597.html?spm=2114.01010208.3.117.kFGzIe&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_0,searchweb201602_2_10057_10056_10055_10049_10059_10058_10017_405_404_10060_10061_10062_412,searchweb201603_7&btsid=f4cc6649-0c62-4053-8555-0bed79623aa1
Has anyone tried something similar to this on their HTC 10 with any success?
Now that is cool. At this price I would still try it.

I'd still like to get some feedback from someone with an HTC 10 that has bought such a device and can confirm it works.
So nobody with an HTC 10 has solved the problem of it having no IR blaster it would seem?

I use my LG App. As long as my 10 and my television are within the same Wireless LAN I simply don't need an IR blaster any longer

I was disappointed with the removal of the IR Blaster, I loved it on the SGS4, M8 and M9.
However, looking back I can count the number of times I used it on each device. It was great to have when needed, but just that, when needed and that wasn't much.
It's not something that was a game changer when choosing the device for me.
I'd like to have it and would consider checking out something like the above for when I may need it. (however the shipping said up to 55 days, with no tracking.. I'd like to find an alternative site to purchase from)

May be a little late, but i recently bought this item and technically it's working but the signal is so weak it's unusable. You need to put the phone right in front of the ir reciever to get it working.

There are better 3.5mm ir blasters that work. And some advice, if you are buying the 10, go for the silver or red variant, the black one is so prone to scrathing and paint chiping. Other than that, the phone is great, you won't regret it.
I have a similar IR blaster but is far away from the functions and precision from my previous M9 and M7. It uses an app called ZaZa Remote which hasn't the features that Peel has like the shows that are passing in the moment.
It also have precision issues and the distance range is very poor. You need to disable Dolby Audio in order to work "properly".
I wouldn't recommend it but considering cheapness of the device and that is the only option, go ahead and try it yourself, maybe you have more luck than me.

Workaround/hack for Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 pro's ECG/EKG and blood pressure reader? (Banned in USA)

Are there any Galaxy watch 5 pro mods to hack the ECG/EKG and blood pressure reader into working. Samsung falsely advertised these features, and since there Is no class action law suit to jump on we need a hack/workaround.

ECG/EKG and BP sensors, in fact, does not work in the USA without the hack. I have two GW5 pros, and the new one still doesn't work, while the old one that I hacked does work in USA.

I just bought the Watch5 Pro and I took a chance with the BP measuring working with it. I know I need to relax and wait for the feature to be released in the US. But, you know how it is.... Heck, I bought a $40 watch () and it has the BP measuring on it. For $40, it's not so bad and it works most of the times. LOL! I can use a real BP monitoring machine or the BP app on that watch to get a rough estimate. But, if you can share the hack, that would be Awesome Sauce!
