lG G3 recover files from bootloop? - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

for the past week my G3 wasn't reading the sim card well and i had to restart it every time in order to get the sim to work again, untill the last time the sim card wasn't working at all so i went and had my sim replaced with a new one and it worked for like 5 mins then the phone crashed and went into bootloop..
i only see thhe LG logo and the phone never manges to turn on..
i tried a different battery but nothin changed so now i think there is no solution but to do a factory reset, the problem is that i have alot of important files on my phone which i haven't backed up.. is there anyway i can recover these files before doing the reset option???

Lg f240l in boot loop

Hi there,
I recently bought a used Lg f240l (so no warranty at all). Every thing was working fine and dandy but today when i restarted the phone it went into boot loop for like 15-20 minutes. I did a battery pull and rebooted but still it remained in boot loop. So i googled and found how to factory reset the phone , i reset the phone. It tool 15-20 minutes again to format but the mobile network signals were gone. I shutdown the phone to check the sim card . I restarted the phone but it went to bootloop again. Please help me out here.
I am aware of custom recoveries, root, etc but please dont hesitate to answer this question like I was a noob.
Also is there a possibility that the factory reset may cause a sim lock?
Thanks alot.
FIXED IT...
THE SOLUTION: In case any one googles ...
So i recently replaced the default fonts with htc m8 but fortunately i backed up the fonts folder.
I hard reset the phone by pressing and holding volume down+home button+power button
And when the phone booted i simply replaced the fonts folder.
I dont know why this happened but this solved my problem.

LG G3 D855 Stuck in Weird Bootloop...

Hey! Check the bottom for TLDR.
I have had my G3 since they came out (have the 2GB, 16GB RAM version), and even got the G4, but remained with the G3 since it didn't have any issues with rooting and recoveries...
Anyways, I was talking to my brother on WhatsApp yesterday and ended up checking out my Hangouts messages at the same time. I believe I accidentally hit the camera feature on Hangouts, and then everything froze. I could still talk to my brother, but I could not get to the home screen or even change from looking at Hangouts. I turned off the screen in hopes that I could get back in, but when I turned the screen back on, I could not log into the phone (I do not have a pin or password, it has no lock at all).
After a few more minutes talking to my brother, it suddenly shut off. When I tried to turn it on it went into a bootloop where the front light changes different colors, and the LG logo continues to show that shine going around the logo.
I was able to get into download mode and went ahead and tried to flash a KDZ as per instructions (I have done this in the past). The install would complete and the phone would give the prompt about updating all the apps. Once that was done, it would show the LG logo and again for about ten minutes. Afterwards, it would get stuck in updating all the apps again and performing the same process...
I also tried using the LG PC Suite and trying to "Restore upgrade errors", but every time I would click that option, I would get a Windows error that something happened and close out the program (it never recognized the phone). I then used the LG Mobile Support Tool, which allowed me to perform an update for the firmware. It too completed, but then went back into the process of updating apps, showing the LG logo, then looping.
The final thing I tried was doing a Factory Reset. I was able to get to the area, and when selecting yes, it immediately went to the LG logo and "Life's Good" sign, which it would never get passed. This is also what happens when I try to turn on the phone and wait.
I contacted LG, which was pointless, as I expected. They wanted me to go to a local repair shop, which is of no use to me if they can only perform the same things I have done.
TLDR: My phone can get into download mode and the Factory Reset area, but flashing stock firmware, or performing the Factory Reset, still leads me into one of two bootloop situations. LG PC Suite and LG Mobile Support Tool seem to be of no use.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I can try that I haven't?
Thanks in advance!

Please describe what happened prior to this before you start a whole big riot again.
Hello, I have this problem well. It started 8 hours ago. I was using it normally, no root or anything. And suddenly when I take it out of the pocket, it just keeps restarting.
I'd like to recover all my data before hard reset. Any help please?
Couldn't even turn it off, I had to wait until battery died.
Hello, same problem here. 2 hours ago I received a WhatsApp message and suddenly it restarts again and again.
Me too! But after two factory restarts I found the problem I guess.
For me, it occured twice when I started Airplane mode and after that everything went to...
Now I am affraid to start airplane mode again
What ROM and version are you guys??
V10f-EUR-XX
My version is V10k-EUR-XX.
After 2 factory resets it looks like my SIM card is the problem.
Without card the phone starts... But in my old LG G6 the SIM card works well.
I tried it with and without SIM as well, but it behaved the same. Sometimes I got into the system, but it just got stuck right away and bootlooped again.
But weird, because for me its airplane mode, which disables/enables celular, so SIM again.
I got T-Mobile, you?
I got t-mobile, too.
So lets wait for stormeye25, I wonder if he also has t-mob
Airplane mode is working well. Without a SIM ...
I am working with SIM. Only when I switch airplane on it stucks again. First time it was me turning airplane off, second time turning it on. Always with SIM and working celular
I tried without sim. Same problem. Also sometimes it boots up, but freezes after 2 seconds. I have the Europe version
I have same problem and i dont know what to do. Problem start about 5 hours ago (what i know last working time was 2:00AM CET). Itself reboot in boot screen or immediately on screen lock after start. I did factory reset, it work for few minutes and again. Version G710EM DEC (germany open market) last FW
It's something from lg ?
Update gone wrong maybe
Exact same problem on my G7 Thinq. Started about 8 hours ago. Boot loop, managed to get it in factory reset mode. Did nothing. Managed to reset it again (without the SIM in) then it booted. After reset it does not recognize (any) SIM. Called Tmobile to ask some questions about repair-process, they told me I was the 3th today with this problem. At this point I wish I wrote down my Google's 2FA recover keys :'). Can't access anything at the moment.
Same bootloop here, g7 thinq bought in Hungary Unlocked, but it downloaded the local t-mobile branding.
It was untouched on charger. When I wanted to pick it up it was already bootlooping and hot.
Put it into freezer, it booted, wallpaper lockscreen arrived, but nothing more.. it was stuck and started bootlooping again after like 30 secs.
Any info / resolution you have?
Okay so it happened again for me with not changing airplane mode or anything. Now I will try without SIM card. I will try to get into touch with our corporate t-mobile associate... Can we pinpoint if its t-mob (SIM) or something to do with LG?
Same here, G7 bought through TMobile Netherlands. I had turned it on airplane mode before going to bed, and when I tried to put airplane mode off it got stuck.
I'm waiting for the battery to die so I can try to wipe the cache...
Flash back to V10F did not help. More accurately until I insert sim (T-mobile) it looks like it works, after inserting sim freezes and resumes bootloop
Okay, out of the blue when in my pocket I noticed my phone was very hot and appeared, also without warning, stuck in a boot loop. Also on T-mobile...I had no problems before.
***Edit*** For the record I run a stock phone/firmware that I have never tempered with...

LG G3 D855 blackscreen right after booting logo

Okay, so i have an LG G3 D855, few months ago it worked like a charm.. But then shortly after i started noticing random reboots everytime during using apps. Then it went in bootloop. I tried to turn it on again, entered recovery screen, choosed factory reset and it did, but then it went through the same process, random restart. Eventually stuck up in factory resetting screen. However i think i made mistake when the phone freezed in reset screen : pulling out the battery. later it lost its IMEI & kept heating up (probably tried to find its cellular framework of some sort).
Days passed, several factory resets has been done. Now the phone's at its worst state. It refused to get past the boot logo. everytime it finishes booting, the display just goes black, tried to plug usb charger, chargin indicator doesn't want to turn on, neither after i pulled out the battery. I have to leave it a few days to get it working again, but it keeps persisting.
Addition : The phone's also feels warm post the blackscreen.
Any thoughts whether can this be fixed or i have to replace something inside the phone's board?
thanks in advance.

Reflash with lgup.
Remove the SIM card and the memory card. try again. Full wipe system data ...
I've had the same problem. I've tried. Worked
found the problem. memory card
EDIT: Some kind of voodoo happened right now! I was about to unbrick again and wanted to give the phone a try to boot before. And it did! So no problem at the moment, but still a strong feeling of uncertainty...
EDIT: Phone is still randomly rebooting and gets stuck in bootloops

Hej guys, I really need your advice,
but first things first: Thank you very much for all of your wonderful work on custom roms and further support of older devices. I've been reading here for a few years now and was more or less happy to have up-to-date-roms for some of my phones.
Now I'm facing quite the same problem like OP did / does. Everything started with me, following this guide to root my D855 (coming from stock rom) and flash TWRP: you tube.com/watch?v=8VOgM3jLas4 (Note: The guide told me to flash "3__HacerPermisivo.zip" for updating the kernel, which I did.)
Next, I flashed a newer version of TWRP ("twrp-3.2.3-0-d855.img") than the one provided in "2__AutoRecMMD855.apk" by the guide above. I wiped dalvik and cache and after that, I flashed "lineage-15.1-20190410-nightly-d855-signed.zip", wiped dalvik and cache again and flashed "open_gapps-arm-8.1-pico-20190411.zip". I wiped dalvik and cache again and told TWRP to reboot.
Here is, where problems began to occur. The phone got into a bootloop, showing up the LG splash screen again and again instead of booting into LOS correctly and set it up. At some point I decided to remove the battery. When I did, at the same time LOS was just going to load, which I saw because of its beginning boot animation. So I screwed it up right at the wrong moment, I guess.
From here, the phone bootlooped every time, I wanted it to start. No battery acrobatics helped and on top I couldn't get it into recovery mode. Any attempts ended in bootloops. I think, this might be what is called a brick / to brick your device, isn't it? I found this guide to unbrick a D855 and followed its steps: open -freax.fr/guide-unbrick-your-lg-g3/
Believe me, it was a real pain in the ass! Because of me, messing up something or the phone getting stuck into a bootloop during the unbrick process, I had to do it 4 to 5 times until success... I have to say: I didn't follow the last steps beginning from "Root". Instead, I followed the guide from the beginning of my post.
Finally, I got "lineage-15.1-20190410-nightly-d855-signed.zip" and "open_gapps-arm-8.1-pico-20190411.zip" to run. I set it up and began to load some of my apps of my Play Store collection. While downloading, the phone froze, crashed and began to bootloop, from here unable to boot normally or to get into recovery mode. So I unbricked and flashed again (again several times because of bootloops before LOS first set up). When I got it to work again, I was able to install my apps without being trolled by the phone again. But scrolling through the eBay app froze the phone and it began bootlooping again...
You can believe me, I was about to throw the D855 against the hardest piece of wall, I could possibly find in my rage. The reason why I didn't give up at this point is, that I LOS-rommed two other D855s just a few days before. Those were my mom's and my girlfriend's and they work fine until today. I bought this third one for myself, because I was impressed, how good LOS worked on the D855s. On top I wanted to get rid of my Samsung Galaxy S4 (GT-I9515), because LOS kinda sucks on it, but this is another story...
So I figuered that the earlier LOS version I used for the women's phones, could solve the problem. So I unbricked again and flashed "lineage-15.1-20190327-nightly-d855-signed.zip" and "open_gapps-arm-8.1-pico-20190329.zip". And hell yeah, that did work! No bootloops, eBay worked fine, just everything was as I loved it on the other phones, I flashed. Until tonight. I've been lucky for almost two days, but tonight this happened: I plotted a route in Google Maps and saved it as a shortcut on my homescreen. I closed Maps and tapped the route icon. Freeze - crash - bootloop - no recovery mode! I wanted to start crying, because Maps has already worked fine yesterday. And it still does on the other two phones, which run exactly the same rom...
So now, I'm sitting here, not knowing what can be done further. I'm not a programmer / developper or any of those cracks providing us the newest software for old phones. So I just can do wild guesses. Maybe the moment I removed the battery the very first time after flashing messed something up very deep inside the phones internals and it can not be cured any more. Maybe some of you guys have experienced similar things and know a tweak or a simple step, I forgot. Anyway, I hope I can use my phone on LOS some day which I bought especially for this case.
Keep up the great work, folks!
Greets
I ordered a new mainboard. It should arrive within 3 weeks. I'll keep you updated.
