Good morning, I have a xiaomi redmi 3 with 16gb of internal memory and a sd card of 64gb class 10 and has the root.
I have already tried Link2sd for a fee, but many apps crash or are very slow.
I wanted to ask you if you used an app for this purpose and how it went.
on another forum I have advised Magisk but I have SuperSu installed do not conflict?
If your phone os rooted just simply install xposed framework.
Then, install the module named XinternalSD ..
good luck

thanks R3pro for the answer. I wanted to ask you if I can install xposed framework even if I have twrp?
I read various discussions here on the forum with instructions to install xposed framework on my device.
I find the XinternalSD module on xposed framework after I installed it? do I have to reformat the sd card?
I'm now trying App2sd works much better than link2sd at least on my terminal. I only had problems with twitter that no longer worked.
a greeting and thanks again

Of course you can install xposed framework if you have TWRP.
you will find the modules afrer installing xposed framework and no need to reformat the sdcard.
Definately Apps2SD: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=in.co.pricealert.apps2sd.pro&hl=pl
It has also free version.
For me it's better than the more popular Link2SD because it's more clear and stable.
I've been playing many games moved on the microSD card (class 10) and
no problems encountered. Make sure you move only APK and OBB,
sometimes external data, but NOT LIB and not DEX. It may cause problems.
Dex and Lib and in most cases Data - better stay in internal memory.
Magisk is useful when you have some apps that doesn't run when root is present/detected,
for ex bank apps, game "Super Mario Run"
But to use Magisk you better first do full unroot in SuperSU.
Always remember to do backup before such operations

Hi guys,
I'm looking for an up-to-date guide with how to make apps go to extSD with Galaxy S3 T999 4.4 (Jermaine's build 7). I'm sure it's the same with any other.. I remember a long time ago you could just click a button under 'apps' saying "move to extSD", but it no longer exists. I see MANY outdated guides ..
Now that there are games out there that are 1gb+, space dwindles fast and I need to get this thing going:
So, I have the latest cwm and 4.4, now what do I do get apps going to extSD? Also, will I lose all my photos and game saves by doing this?
Thanks ~
You can use Pictures2SD or Xposed Framework to have the pictures be saved to external sd card. But given your Game needs, and if Apps2sd does not work, I reccomend Xposed Framework.
You install the apk from that thread and then go look for relevant module.
I'm having a problem reguaring writing to microSD in certain applications. I am rooted and unlocked but stuck s-on for now (whelp message).
I saw someone saying to have app permissions to write to external sd you do NOT need to be s-off? I'm running Cap'n Throwbacks Stock rooted rom and do not have these permissions in the apps I use to download directly to external SD.
So whats going on? Is it a rom issue or an easy fix?
You can use the Xposed framework found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/framework-xposed-rom-modding-modifying-t1574401 . But beware that this breaks ART support. Then after applying the Xposed framework you can download and enable a module called HandleExternalStorage. This fixed all SD card problems for me.

Thank you! I will give this a try. What do you mean it breaks ART support? I googled ART support and cannot find out what it is.
Android KitKat let's you use two runtime environments, namely Dalvik and ART. Dalvik is the default runtime, while ART is a new runtime which should be faster but is not supported by many apps and breaks ART. You can choose between ART and Dalvik in the developer setting (to enable just go setting/about and click a few times on the build number). I myself still use Dalvik because it allows for Xposed to work. If you have no problem with how it is now I suggest you leave it as it is and you will have no problem!

Excellent info, thank you! I may just leave it as it is, depending on which apps it would affect. Can you go back to how it was via nandroid backup before the mod? I'd like to try but I don't want to mess anything up that I cannot undo.
You can install/deinstall the Xposed framework whenever you like. The Xposed installer gives you the option to enable the framework but also to delete it if unnecessary.

I did exactly what you said, all seemed to work well. But in ttorrent app where I am selecting save directory as external SD, still get this error (see in red text at bottom of pic).
Did you enable the module inside the Xposed framework and then rebooted?

Yes I did, downloaded and installed the module inside xposed and rebooted.
Please double check if it is enabled inside the modules tab in Xposed installers as I am able to select my SD card with tTorrent myself.

Hi all,
I like to acces my phone via WIFI to upload & download files to it . I use the Websharing App to do this and this works quiet well via a browser on my computer.
However when trying to write a new folder to my external SD-card in my phone, i get an error. I Tried this with different filesharing apps, but i seems like i don't have persmission to do this because i always get the same error.
This problems occurs only when trying to write something to the external SD. Reading & copying is possible.
Does somebody knows how i can fix this problem ?
When connecting the computer via usb-cable , it's possible to write directly to SD card.
(Samsung galaxy s4 mini LTE, android 4.4.2)
Cheers.
On android 4.4.2 3rd party apps can't write on SDCard. You must root Your phone, install Xposed Framework and then download and install module KitKat SD Card Full Access. Also better way to browse and manage files directly on Your phone is SambaDroid, You can even manage system files.

Okay thanks for your help. Will try sambadroid, otherwise will check the xposed framework. Phone is already rooted.
I'm afraid that You also need this xposed module for Sambadroid to work. As I remember it was some build.prop modification to make it work if You don't wanna play with xposed.
Rooted now my G5 on Stock Rom, also get Root Access but get 2 issues which wasn´t planned :silly:
1. getting all couple of seconds a information that LED notifier are allowed to get root access (yes, it is set on don´t ask again, allow without timelimit...)
2. Reason why I´m rooted the phone was: Want a Couple of apps save on SD Card, now foldermount mention that supersu isn´t installed so can´t work properly
Any Ideas or maybe an alternative app to install apps on sd?
some apps only work with a certain superuser
superSU does work with the G5 but I don't think it works with stock rom - although I haven't tried (you have to root first then switch superuser although like I said haven't tried with stock rom but I have got supersu working on lineageos but I would stick to the inbuilt root)
If you want to root the G5 with stock I would use magisk - you need version 11.6 to flash in twrp then you can update to the latest version in magisk manager - only root works with magisk - dont use magisk hide or modules as they are currently not supported
If you are on lineageos just flash the suaddon zip (see the first post instructions on lineageos dev page)
An alternative app would be link2sd - please note you can natively move apps to sd but any apps that use a widget or require anything to do with internal storage will no longer work
For these apps its best to symlink them - this requires you to create a 2nd ext partition on your sd card then you link these apps to your sd card - They will then be on your sd card but act as though they are on internal because they are symlinked
Be warned that the more apps you link in this way you may find your phone become more laggy
I have found solution to play games which contains obb data in android oreo based Roms. I have been facing issue from last one week that obb data automatically converted into file and we lost all obb data of all games.
So here is the guide how can you solve this issue by following below steps.
1) Install Xposed framework for Oreo Roms from below link depending on your Android OS Version.
https://www.xda-developers.com/xposed-framework-for-android-oreo-beta/
2) Then go to the playstore and install "Obb on sd" for xposed.
3) Activate the xposed module and Reboot your phone.
4) Download any of your favorite games which contains Obb Data.
5) Then copy Android folder from your internal storage to External sdCard as it is.
6) Open "ObbOnSd" app and go to settings of this app.
7) Select all option and that's it.
The above guide is Personally tested by me. Kindly follow above guide at your own risk.

I don't have an SD card
Has anybody figure out the cause of this yet? I'd really love to be using Oreo roms but can't due to this single issue

Every custom rom has this issue and dont know what can be the cause of this issue..
will have to wait and use xposed framework untill someone solves this issue....
I've noticed something in case it helps anyone.
The issue described in this thread seems only to happen to me after connecting to WiFi and downloading apps from the play store. I went several days and several restarts without it, then today I connected to WiFi and downloaded some apps, now it is present.
Can anyone give any more ideas about why (or even IF) this could happen?
Also we can install Magic Folder Binder (Magisk Module) to avoid cant pass safetynet
