Messed up rooting - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried rooting my nexus 5x and all was going well and I had my root software on the SD card then I put my phone into fastboot mode and realised I forgot to unlock the bootloader. I unlocked the bootloader and I'm guessing it wiped the software from the SD card as there was nothing there when I went onto TWRP. I then selected the option to reboot and it gets past the google logo and it gets stuck on the animation, can anyone help me with this issue?

[Q] stupid family...stuck on htc boot screen

OK so I need some serious help. I'm not a total n00b but I'm still fairly new to the rooting world.
I recently rooted my dinc and installed the new cyanmogen 7 to bring it to gingerbread. I had let my sister use my updated phone because she has a dinc too and was considering doing the same.
She was messing around with it and downloaded something from the marketplace and when she ran it the entire phone shut off. I don't know what she installed and when asked she doesn't know either. When I boot the phone it stays at the htc boot screen and will not go any further. I've tried a recovery which all the forum topics tell me to do and unfortunately it doesn't give me the option to load anything from my sd card. The only menu options under recovery are: Bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down.
When I plug my phone in my Windows 7 comp it isn't found as a drive and only shows up under device manager. If it makes a difference I rooted using unrevoked3. I'm not sure what I can do at this point. Please keep in mind that although I'm not 100% new at this I'm still really unfamiliar with it all.
What can I do to get my phone working properly again? I don't care if its from a factory reset I just need to get it working.
Thanks!
The white screen with your device info is not the recovery menu, it's the Bootloader/HBOOT menu. Select Bootloader from that menu and you will be given an option to reboot into recovery, most likely ClockworkMod Recovery. Once there you should be able to restore from a backup or reinstall Cyanogen 7.0.
If you cannot boot into recovery download the latest OTA update here. Rename it to "PB31IMG.zip" and put it on your SDcard. Reboot into the bootloader and it will detect the PB31IMG update and press Volume Up to apply it.
You'll need to root your phone again after this, though.
thank you!!
it worked perfectly...thanks!!!!!!!!
Glad to hear it!

[Q] Can't get into Recovery, can't get past ROM splash screen

I recently rooted my HTC Incredible and flashed Cyanogen 7 on it. There were a few issues with the ROM, so I decided to try to flash it again. I backed everything up, then went into ROM Manager and flashed Clockwork, then selected the option to reboot in Recovery mode. But when I got to the HBoot screen and tried to select "Recovery," the HTC Incredible screen flashed, but then I was brought instead to the "Fastboot" menu. If I select "Bootloader" and try again, I'm brought back to Hboot. It is now stuck on this cycle.
I tried to reboot the phone to get into the ROM Manager, but when I did that, the phone got stuck on the Cyanogen splash screen. It's done this multiple times.
Consulting a friend, I then went on to dougpiston.com and downloaded a recovery .zip (Verzion 3.0.0.8), put it on my SD card via someone else's phone, and put the SD card back in my phone. There was no change.
This is where I am currently. I'm still new to rooting, and I've done the research that I can. But every thread I found that dealt with problems booting into Recovery required you to be able to boot up the phone. Every thread that dealt with problems booting up regularly made use of Recovery mode. I'm stuck here, and I would really appreciate any advice.
So did you actually flash the recovery you downloaded? The recoveries from www.dougpiston.com are PB31IMG.zip files that are flashed in hboot. Put it on the root of the SD card, boot in hboot, it will find the zip and ask you if you want to update, press volume up to confirm. Then try to boot into recovery.
After much sweating and cursing, a friend of mine noticed that my SD card somehow changed its format from FAT32. We moved all of the card's contents off, formatted it, and then put everything back on before reinserting it and booting the phone. Hboot performed its update, then we were able to boot into Clockwork. I wiped the phone clean and re-flashed Cyanogen. That got me back into the phone, where a few small fixes took care of the few minor problems that began this whole nightmare.
Thanks for your help. If you hadn't suggested poking around the card we wouldn't have found the problem!
I'm glad you got it figured out! I totally spaced to tell you to make sure the SD card was fat32, I just kind of assumed.

[Q] Updated firmware using MIKE thread

I've just update my firmware using my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696282
I'm S-On and followed every instruction. When the phone boot (everything was succesfull), it was stuck on the HTC welcoming screen.
Then I thought because the rom installed didn't match the new firmware, so I decided to unlock the bootloader, that too was fine. But then when the phone boot up, I again got stuck on the HTC welcoming screen. Then I tried adb to boot into the bootloader to flash the TWRP custom recovery, but nothing to do, adb is not recognising the phone. But the storage of my phone is appearing on windows explorer and the drives were successfully installed automatically.
What should I do, urgent please anyone
Thanks

hold up and down volume keys then power button to switch off device. Then boot into bootloader through volume down and power button. Flash recovery and install rom. Panicked for nothing

reading is a gift
Unlock your bootloader then install custom recovery then copy your new rom to a folder on sd card then install it and last flash the boot.img via fastboot. And next time don't use tool to root your phone. Now start reading how to unlock your bootloader via HTCdev.com then haw to flash recovery and then how to flash custom rom

[Q] Phone randomly crashes, trying to root now.

I had the phone for about a month now, i bought it on ebay it stated it was New, i check and it is still locked S-On.
But just randomly it started to crash and reboot. I tried all the basic steps, remove apps but every time it reboots it reloads everything back on it.
I tried both hard reset and factory reset both did not work. I'm noticing that i cant turn off fast boot because once it crashes and reboots, all the setting and apps go back to the way it was. Now I'm trying to root it to see if that would cure the problem and thinking possibly an update got corrupted or something and i know once you root it, it will erase all internal data.
While trying to root it, i got all the way to loading the bootloader and once i selected yes to unlock bootloader, it restarted but nothing happened it went back to the way it was. I've tried to delete/erase my data and cache through windows command but keeps saying it failed. Also now i cant start the bootloader over again.
Any ideas what i can try or do? is there an Hboot loader since I'm not able to turn off the fast boot in the setting?
I'm very new to rooting but catching on quickly.
