How can I get always on in OxygenOS. Substratum enablers didn't work for some reason and 3rd party apps are terrible. Is there any other way?

I have tried searching but couldn't find. Is there a list of 3rd party apps that use HDR+ in 8.1?
The only one I've read about is Instagram.
Whenever I enable camera2API in any custom rom (like PE pie or PE oreo) it breaks the front camera of 3rd party apps like instagram , whatsapp, retrica etc.
Anyone know the fix or why its happening?
I too have same problem so i am not using the cam2api
Hi, I wanna know if there is any patch out there( and works on miui) that fixes front and back camera in external apps like instagram or snapchat to make it smoother.
I'm currently on havoc and i have noticed that on 3rd party apps, the camera works much better than on miui.

I recently transitioned away from Samsung to the Pixel and I miss the Game Launcher app and the Sound Assistant app which had functionality that I haven't seen in other apps.
I have tried installing their APK and they just crash whenever I launch them. Is there a way to get these working?
You would need to install the apps they are dependent on to install, load and run.
Probably some it is baked into the Samsung firmware.
Samsung heavily mods the Android OS especially starting with Android 10.
The Pixel landscape is barren by comparison.
You also lost the SSC codec so if you have any of the Samsung Buds bt series devices, that is their optimal codec.
Lol never thought someone would miss Samsung apps !
Old habits die hard, change is hard; ask any Android->iOS/ iOS->Android switcher. You need a lot more of the One UI Framework for Samsung apks to work.

What features - exactly - are those two apps offering that you can't seem to find with other apps?

Game Launcher I never use but Sound Assistant I use constantly, it provides up to 100 increments for volume control.
On my N10+ Q variant there are literally dozens more small Samsung system akps that make the Q UI user friendly and functional compared to my N10+ Pie variant.
Android 11 and 12 are all messed up... doubt even Samsung can clean it up completely.
Q is still user friendly/functional on Samsung flagships though.
The Samsung One UI is fast, efficient, rock solid stable with the best customization of any stock Android. At least half dozen Galaxy store add ons for increased customization that aren't available otherwise. It's a very good ecosystem.
My N10+'s look like and act I want them to.
You simply can't mod and trick out a stock Pixel to near this degree... par for the course.

The Samsung Sound Assistant App offers individual app control for volume and some other finer granular controls on a per-app basis, e.g. one app that is constantly too loud is Instagram in comparison to other apps and I usually cut its volume by 20% and some games I only like a slight sound from meanwhile others I like at full volume and have them automatically set to the levels I like is rather handy. This functionality is built into an overlay app that is integrated with the sound settings so you don't need to exit an app to adjust volume levels.
The Samsung Game Launcher, in my opinion, is far superior to the Google Play Game Launcher as the user interface has a better layout which helps with navigation and opening apps, there is also optional game muting options, discord integration, and the instant apps are a better selection (rather than just booting a store app temporarily, which is also handy). The ability for the launcher to hide all of the game icons so you know you only need to go to one app to find your games, there is some optimisation built into the app (disabling some things to make games run faster but this is hardly relevant with a powerful phone). The last thing is that the Samsung Game Launcher ads are less intrusive when you have the app in folder mode (appears over the top of the ads).
OnePlus limits which sensors Google Camera mods can access in OxygenOS 12
By Arol Wright
For years, non-Pixel phones have been able to enjoy some of Google's camera magic, thanks to Google Camera ports/mods. Because a good part of the Pixel camera experience comes down to software, developers have figured out ways to bring parts of that experience to other devices. Among the root-and-ROM crowd, it's a popular practice that can let you enjoy Pixel camera features and enhanced processing on non-Pixel devices. Now a seemingly arbitrary restriction by OnePlus will keep Google Camera mods (and all third party camera apps) from accessing auxiliary cameras on the company's phones.
If you aren't familiar with the concept, a handful of popular developers (including folks like cstark27, BSG, and Arnova8G2) port and modify versions of the Pixel's Google Camera app to third-party devices. It can take some research to track down a version that plays nice on your particular phone, and there are usually a couple broken features and some bugs, but you can often get much better photo results from these modified camera apps than you can on the app your phone shipped with, as well as enjoy some of those Pixel-specific camera features on your non-Pixel phone.
As of OxygenOS 12, the auxiliary cameras (read: the non-primary ultrawide, macro, or telephoto lens) are no longer accessible outside of OnePlus' own camera app, as reported on the Google Camera Port Updates Telegram group. This means that if you were to install a Google Camera mod on your OnePlus phone running Android 12, you'd only be able to use the primary camera/sensor with it. And, if it wasn't clear, that means other apps won't have access to the other sensors either, including those you might download from the Play Store.
The OxygenOS 12 update that delivers this change has already been controversial among fans for other reasons. Not only is it essentially just Oppo's ColorOS with a handful of OnePlus-specific tweaks, but it's also absolutely loaded with bugs, something that eventually made OnePlus halt the update's rollout.
Notably, this auxiliary camera restriction is also present in Oppo phones running ColorOS. While it's unfortunate, that could mean the change is intentional, and we might not see this behavior revert back to a GCam-friendly practice if and when the update starts rolling out again.
If you have a OnePlus phone and want to keep using a Google Camera port or mod with all of your phone's sensors, consider holding off on the OxygenOS 12 update when it starts rolling out again. And if OnePlus doesn't bring the feature back, you can always try a ROM — they're relatively easy to install on OnePlus phones.
