I know it's a long shot, but if anyone has the keyboard dock for the n-8010 that you're no longer in need of, I'm interested in purchasing one. I believe it's Samsung part EKD-K14AWEGTGY or perhaps EKD-K14UWEGSTD would work as well.
All of the docks in eBay are for Galaxy Tab 10.1 and those won't work.
Hi, I have one. I bought it a few years ago, but I think you will be disappointed: is almost useless. When you connect the dock, the soft keyboard always comes up (at least with the original rom). This is very annoying. I don't know if it works better with other roms. Maybe I know that soon, because I am fed up with the original rom: more and more websites don't work properly anymore. I'm trying to install Lineage, but I still have to do some reading...
Oh, and if I remember well, the key buttons are of poor quality: often you will get a character twice. Like this: Hoow aare youu?
But I do live in the Netherlands, so that's a long way for you.
Ffonz.
If you do make the change to Lineage, you'll have a feature that will allow you to quickly switch the on screen keyboard on and off. It's a good OS and I am happy with it. By now, I'm almost ready to replace my Note 10.1 with something that has more than 16gb of storage, even though I still like this tablet.

The original galaxy tab has a external keyboard for it , will it release for this gt10.1 ? Hope to have a keyboard that make me easier to type mails n gaming
I can see Samsung making a keyboard dock for gTab 10.1.
Must Have! As its replacing my dead netbook for the internets surfing.
I would be happy with just a smallish dock where we can plug in usb Keyboard and Mouse that charges and maybe HDMI out ect. Cheap enough to have one at work and one at home.
If this doesn't come about i guess it bt keyboard/mouse combo will have to do.
Anyone know if there if the 3rd parties have started making them?
Cheers.

Will the new accessories (announced for galaxy tab 10.1: BT Headset, Sound Station, Desk Dock and USB Connection Kit) be available for this model also? This is quite important for me to decide…

So I guess we can count those as accessories we can use?

The GT10.1 P7510 we were given at I/O has two circular charging contacts on each side of the charging port. Hopefully that equates to a charging dock that doesnt require plugging in.

They did mention some docks during the reveal (forgot where it was, maybe CTIA?). Lets just hope Samsung won't take 5 months to release it though like they do for their phones.
If anyone knows, how long did it take for the original Galaxy Tab accessories to come out?
Logitech released a keyboard and separate mouse being marketed for Android 3.x tablets today on their website. The mouse is only for 3.1 devices according to the promo materials. The keyboard is a nice small keyboard with a case that is supposed to support the tablet as an easel when its not holding the keyboard. They're all Bluetooth devices.
I like the devices but wonder if they're with the price premium.

I tested them with an ohm-meter, they are not conductive. They look like screw access covers.
Not sure if anyone has seen this, and I'm just assuming it's for the new 10.1

Wonder if that 10.1 Samsung branded keyboard will control my 7in Galaxy Tab? They definately have the same plugs on the bottom.

I wouldn't doubt it. There's a video on YouTube where a kid has an I/O 10.1 and has a dock for his 7in Galaxy Tab. Did a little modification and the 10.1 works on the dock and does hdmi mirroring. He probably didn't adjust his overscan on his tv though.

Video of the keyboard, close up and stuff.
It's quite poor, since it's priced around 80$... But as a desk dock it's hell of a good one.

There's also a case with an integrated bluetooth keyboard in it, that is an official samsung accesory, that costs 150$ LOL...

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone of you know if samsung has a keyboard and mouse similar to that of the Asus Transfomer. I searched over amazon but I couldn't find anything. It is not necessarily made by Samsung, it could be made by other manufacturers.

Samsung has their own docking keyboard, which works fine. Next to that, as the keyboard is white, I have added a white wireless bluetooth mouse by Logitech, which works fine as well.
Who needs a laptop after that.

I've seen that but what's interesting about the Asus keyboard/mouse is that it is very slim and it can be folded while if you want to hold the samsung keyboard, you will have to use a both hands maybe
No, I use it in my lap as a keyboard without needing two hands. The connection is secure. The mail advantage of the keyboard are that it has a number of special keys, and that it does charge the Tab wile inserted in the keyboard. Mail disadvantage is that it does require you to use the samsung stock software keyboard on the tab. The external keyboard requires that.

If you can get your hands on this official keyboard case, this I think beats the Asus transformer in style and portability, though battery life will take a toll since it's bluetooth. Problem is, I can't see any US vendors selling it.
http://reviews.cnet.com/2300-3126_7-10008260-4.html
i got the keyboard dock as well. Went with the white one instead of the new bluetooth keyboard from samsung with a folding case since i don't wanna use bluetooth to preserve battery life.
The advantage is that its rock steady in its position and you can easily have it your lap on teh bus for example. the downside is that you can adjust the angle. although i'm fine with the angle the way it is but they could have maybe made it a bit more adjustable somehow.
i also got the official usb adapter which i use for mouse, works so far with every mouse i've tried, and its snappy!
i would recommend a wireless mouse with a tiny usb dongle instead of bluetooth. mainly due to battery life. i'm getting one myself, just using a wired mouse atm.
on another note, the usb adapter works quite well also, even tho its a bit on the large side i'm content with it. to my own surprise i plugged in my old usb saitek cyborg gamepad (looks like a x360 controller only you can switch place with the d-pad and left analogue stick) and it worked perfectly with my emulators!
one suggestion on the usb adapter tho, if you're using it for mouse you are better of plugging in the mouse first and then plugging the adapter into the keyboard dock (with mouse already plugged in). Seems like a lot less risk of breaking it that way. that's why i don't like adatpers that much, but guess it's the price to pay when you get as slick and slim tablet as the galaxy tab. no UBS port from start. still it has better placement of the pin connector than ipad for example since you can't have it netbook style in apple's keyboard dock due to that fact, but the galaxy tab becomes just like a netbook when combined with the keyboard dock.
also the keyboard dock is not a hassle to bring along on the road and it feels sturdy and well built. and it's also about half the price of the new bluetooth keyboard with case, at least here in sweden. I might get the bluetooth one for portability since it's obviously a bit less space demanding, but not much compared to the keyboard dock. but at the current price i'll hold off a bit since i'm so satisfied with my solid keyboard dock. feels good to type on too IMO.
i'll end my rant now

I'm considering buying a keyboard for the SGT 10.1 and i was thinking about the Samsung OEM keyboard because it is the nearest to a notebook for the SGT. This Motorola keyboard is a bluetooth one? If so, how long does its battery last? Do u have a link to the keyboard description?
Thx.
I have been using the same batteries for months now. I don't really know how long they will last for. But maybe 3 months or over.
I will include a picture of my setup in a bit

portable bluetooth keyboard for the 10.1 that has a touchpad
Hello, does anyone know of a portable bluetooth keyboard for the 10.1 that has a touchpad on it. Right now I am using my PS3 bluetooth keyboard with touchpad and it is amazing. There is a cursor that moves and clicks and it makes it so easy then reaching and touching the screen accurately. I would love a keyboard that has a slot that will also hold the tablet up and in place. Thanks. As much as I love using my PS3 keyboard it is NOT portable LOL. Thanks for all suggestions.
Definitely recommend the Motorola keyboard. There is a post on here that has a link to pick up some with a free mouse included.

Besides the Samsung OEM Keyboard for the GT 10.1, is there any other keyboard that acts like a dock. The Motorola Keyboard seems fine, but it won't hold the Tab. I want a keyboard that doesn't need a cover with a stand. Does anyone know of one besides the original samsung keyboard?
Just received the Motorola keyboard & mouse combo today. I would highly recommend both of them for use with your 10.1.
Don't know of any docking syle keyboard for the 10.1.
@ coulter6. were u able to map the gmail button or does it work for you? Let me know the other keys that dont work for you. Cheers.

As for a dock, I know I've seen online somewhere, a keyboard dock that acts as a folding case. It leaves the back of the tab exposed, but it essentially turns it into a portless netbook.
Oops, wrong thread.
I just purchased and began using today the Logitech® Tablet Keyboard for Win8/RT and Android
[Was gonna post a link or URL here but not allowed to as new user]
So far I am very impressed. Was easy to pair yet secure where you need to enter a code on the keyboard that displays on the SGN 10.1. Has solid feel, used (4) AAAs that are installed when you get it. Bought at Best Buy for $69.99.
Has a hard carry case that apparently can double as a stand....have not tried that and don;t plan to as I use the Belkin cover that stands the SGN 10.1 up nicely.
I use the Samsung soft keyboard most so I didn't have to turn off SwiftKey or anything. I do notice that the soft or virtual keyboard pops up more often than I would like, but it is easily enough dismissed.....if someone has a way to improve that I am all ears by the way.
Will update later but really liking it so far.

Mine has a lag between inputting and what you've inputted appearing on screen.
Sadly in the UK (ane EU) Logitech are a few years behind the market and only sell the Apple version.
I didn't have any luck with this keyboard. It was laggy and also every now and then repeated keys infitely. I tried it out on my Windows 7 laptop and had similar issues. I ended up going with the Galaxy Tab 8.9 Keyboard Dock instead.
Logitech KB Still OK Here
Still OK here so farwith Logitech Tablet Keyboard with my SGN 10.1 No real lag that I notice.

I have two Logitech keyboards. I purchased the android keyboard many of you are talkiing about a year or more ago. There was some lag.
I just got the Note 10.1 couple weeks ago. I got this keyboard since I was in money spending mode http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/10704?crid=27
The newest keyboard is much smoother, never times out, and is easier to type with. Just my opinion. I just tested both.
I'm jyst barely smart enough to be somewhat dangerous but not nearly as smart as most that follow this stuff. My guess is the new keyboard is more compatible with bluetooth and I wonder if the way they charge has something to do with it. I think the first keyboard charges with batteries and times out. The newer keyboard K810 is a plug in charger. You can let it sit for 30 minutes and it starts up right away the second you start typing.

Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Windows 8, Windows RT and Android3.0+
This is the keyboard that I did not have much luck with. There is a similar model logitech sells as well. I think it is the predecessor to this one.
i just purchased this keyboard http://www.logitech.com/en-us/product/tablet-keyboard-android-win8-rt?crid=1242 about 1 month ago and it works great for me
how light and thin with tablet combined is this compared to a netbook?
How portable/compact?
Just thought I'd post a little PSA/review for everyone who still has this useful little lap dock:
Short version: IT WORKS!
Longer version: The experience of using DeX with the HP Elite X3 Lap Dock is considerably better on the Z Fold 4 than it was even on the Note 9, which was the device that was popular when many of us discovered this useful little gadget. Many features now work which were previously buggy, or even outright broken.
Most impressive is that trackpad clicks actually WORK now (both left and right click). Previously, only taps registered. Additionally, all pointer speed issues from the Note 9 days appear to be resolved; cursor moves smoothly and evenly. Two-finger scrolling and pinch-to-zoom are also much more reliable.
Also working are USB, media function keys, and the headphone jack. Phone screen no longer randomly turns on when typing either (at least when using stock Samsung keyboard).
Audio is still buggy, as it ever was in the Note 9 days, but it can be made to work with some fiddling. Most reliable seems to be the following sequence: Connect-->Hold Lap Dock power button for 10 sec until dock reboots-->Switch audio to "Display Device" in Media Output menu (right click on volume icon in taskbar). Do not enable the DeX setting to play audio automatically through attached device, that seems to break it.
Overall, though, this device has gone from "Useful with compromises" to "Solid enough to daily-drive" in my book, and I'm excited about the possibilities it opens up. Until Samsung makes their own DeX lap dock, the HP Elite X3 Lap Dock would now seem to be the best DeX laptop out there. I know these devices are no longer as plentiful or as cheap as they once were, but if you still have one left over from a few years ago, it's definitely worth digging out again.
P.S.: A word of caution. My unit is a North American model, product code V8H07UT. These models were historically more compatible with DeX, and I have no way of knowing if this report applies at all to the other dominant type, product code Y1M48EA. Those models were sold primarily in Europe, and other threads have widely reported issues with DeX compatibility on those model #s. If you have a Y1M48EA, I would be very interested to hear if it works now with DeX...who knows how much they've improved the software since the Note 9?
I will try with f3 and f4. Thx.
And now im looking all over to find a cheap one. It would be so cool to use the phone like this
hi all. tell me please - how can I unlock 120 hz mode in Samsung dex? I know that it used to be, then after the update it became 60, but perhaps some information remained in the old kernels. maybe you need a custom kernel...
