After messing around in recovery for a few hours trying to get recovery to recognize that my sd card was inserted, I restarted the phone back into normal mode only to see my sim card and sd card give up on me and stop working completely (recovery + phone)
Now when I plug in my desire into the PC, instead of asking if I want to charge or mount my sd card, it finds new hardware called "Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM" and I'm absolutely so confused right now, could somebody push me in the right direction?
bump!
Really need help, 24 month contract took out 4 days ago, can't send it back because they'll probably know I've got "super user" admin access, although they have given me a 14 day return policy. £30 a month for a broken phone, any help would be great.
It's only a 50 / 50 chance you will get cort out anyway . I have sent back 2 rooted. X10i on orange and nout has been sed

Thanks for that.
I've asked them to take it back but apparently because it's been "used" now I won't be able too, it's in my parents names so I have no choice to pay the bill.
Is my phone bricked or something now? The actual phone works without being able to use a sim/sd card, can still use wifi and download things to internal though.
It's bricked but can be fixed, just search on here for the bricked thread.
I had the same problem and eventually got it sorted, bit of a pain but got there in the end.

I've had a look at some but my phone won't connect (bootloader + normal mode) through USB at all.
My PC says "Android Bootloader Interface" is running fine, but adb says device not found, I'm so confused :<

I looked through various threads and my SD card + sim works perfectly now, my phone is still recognized as a Qualcomm though but I can live with that, for now.
If anybody else reads this thread and has similar problems use the following:
http://android.modaco.com/content/h...com/309939/usb-brick-rickrolled-b0rked-fixed/ - it fixed everything perfect for me (minus the usb in normal mode, but flashing a new rom will most likely help.)

Hi there,
I saw your post on the Ascend p6 forum saying that you had some spare parts available. I am after a rear cover and the module that has the camera glass which covers the camera module. I have circled the part in this image:

Any chance for me to get a motherboard for p6?? I am desperately in need of it
I'm also needing one! And am desperate too!
Please, let me know if anybody has one available. My email is [email protected]
Thanks!
---------- Post added at 08:45 AM ---------- Previous post was at 08:32 AM ----------
I'm not sure if it's the same as the mother board, but I'm desperate looking for one. The only one I've found on eBay was way too expensive and the other ones I've found were in some Asian websites that even though were good priced I don't understand anything else on the page and cannot order them.
So, I'm hopefully looking for someone that can help me with this. If you have one, please write back to my email: [email protected]
Thanks in advance
My HTC One M8 got bricked while updating to android 4.4.4 (eye experience). According to futuretel, the warranty is only active for three months without a receipt. I tried locating a reliable phone repair shop in Toronto and its been a nightmare. HTC has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The phone still contains my data. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.
please note: the power button is broken

Bricked how? Like, it won't turn on at all? I've seen a lot of people on this site say "hard bricked" when it is something that can be fixed with some guidance.
Does it turn on?

There's a lesson here, always keep your receipts. Also if it was broken already then you should have had it replaced. Unless you caused the damage then they won't replace it regardless because you could be the reason why it bricked

He has two posts, which doesn't really tell his experience with rooting and "bricks", but is usually a good indication. I have a feeling he can fix it with some help.
I could be wrong though. No answer on the "will your phone turn on?" yet.
EDIT: no power button. not bricked. hardware issue. should read the whole post instead of having another sip of beer.

No, the phone won't turn on. However, my computer picks up the device (connects then disconnects). I'm heading to a repair shop just now.

Learnt the hard way. The phone was working perfectly fine except for the power button. After the update, the phone was stuck in a boot loop between update symbol and low battery. I pulled out the sd card and now its just showing a flashing red light. I am going to get the power button fixed just now and get the technician to diagnose any other issues.
Did you happen to buy the device with a credit card? This almost always will suffice as a proof of purchase or receipt.
If your phone was in a loop when the battery died, its not bricked.
update
The phone shows up as QUALCOMM HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (com 3)
I'm planning on buying another phone (not HTC)

Its technically bricked but there are tools that you could use to fix it, but I doubt you want to take that much effort in fixing it.
So what was the point of this thread? You obviously don't want to fix it. So you just wanted to whine about it? Good luck on your next phone, don't brick that one too.
Pretty sure my m8 is bricked
Hey i sort of hi-jacked this thread , however it relates to my matter. I tried to convert my HTC into google play edition, I s -off, unlocked the boot loader and rooted it. Now for the fun part I went to flash a google m8 rom and BAM boot loaader came up with tampered and not only that the rom didn't work and now the htc boot screen (the white one) has a lock on the bottom and i can't do anything. I can access TWRP and have flashed other roms to it but it keeps denying them and going to the same htc boot screen with that lock symbol. Anyone please help I just got this phone and feel like I should never gotten myself mixed in this modding business lol . Thanks for anyone that can help me resolve this.

i may be wrong.
the g3s pinouts were under the metal shield
why do u need to force it to 9008 did u hard brick it or is it bootlooping on its own

no i tried to boot h811 marshmallow rom using emmc files from f500 and everything worked great till i saw the phone doesnt recognize the sd card so i tried to flash some of h811 emmc files and that was the dumbest move ive done in smart phone history
now the phone shows ? inside a battery symbol when the battery is taken off and no sign of life when battery is in it
certainly forcing the phone into 9008 mode and then flashing ls991 files which saved my phone for one time using qfil will save it for another time.
For now the right emmc files should be flashed in order to get out of this specific type of nonsense brick.
Im gonna try what is said here and see what it does but first im gonna check the voltage of these points with a multimeter
Buddy First Of All...
Remove the big metal plate...
Its easy it pops out.
Them on emmc right side there are 5 small golden points and on left side there is a ground point...
So on right side solder the 3 golden point and ground and connect usb cable to pc and dammmmmmmmm
Phone will be in QHSUSB_DLOAD 9008 MODE
Best of luck

Just managed to flash ls991 mbn files and then replaced them with f500l files(my phone is refurbished it says h811 but f500L is written on the main)
The phone boots up and every thing works great except one thing:
Phone cant read sd card But if i use only ls991 files i will get sd card working but no imei and baseband and camera
What the f is wrong with this damn phone guys????
Hmm So you got f500l
Well use the oldest firmware and flash it and see if it works
And if you get problem with imei I'll fix it

oh **** i replyed to wrong post hes got a f500 ls991 tmobile refurb and cant figure out what to do sorry
Okay!
So I bought an already used LG G5 Sprint LS990 and it was locked.
I took it to a store to unlock via a software and it worked after putting my sim.
Then, the phone became very hot and went off. It refused coming on. It was more like a hardbrick. It doesn't come on. No recovery or download mode. No display on the screen when I plug in the charger (the phone just feels warm after a while). Also, when I plug it to the computer, there is no connection sound and I checked device manager, it doesn't show anything. No Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 or BULK whatever...
I got tired of trying. So I abandoned the phone for about a month.
Last week, I plugged it in again and omg! It showed the battery icon and it was at 0%.
I left it to charge to 100% and I put it on. It got stuck on the Sprint Splash screen and went into a bootloop.
I removed the battery and reinserted it. Now it won't come on again. It's back to being hardbricked.
I even bought a new battery just incase but it didn't work.
It still doesn't connect to the PC.
I don't know what to do.
Can anyone please help?

You would have to look in the do not downgrade thread
