Hi guys, I had to reset my Lumia 950 and now I cannot get back we chat. I know I can to to developers mode and side load, I think. Can anyone give me details on how to do this and maybe have the we chat app. Much much appreciated.

Doesn't work. You won't recieve code and even if you've got an account and try to login it will give you an error.

Yes, it works great. Only thing is the live tile is Chinese instead if English but that's not a problem. Just glad I have it back. Don't know why Tencent did nit just leave it in the store for us and end support instead.

Yes, I am in the Uk and the UK and the app has been withdrawn from the Microsoft Store by Tencent a few months back. And I don't know why. They should have left it there and just not supported it with updates. Mind you, I cant remember the last time they did even update it!! But, this version works just fine. It installed on my phone no problem and works perfectly. I work with a lot of people in China and WeChat is an invaluable app for me. Has this beta version worked for you ok?

Ok, so I have a Lumia 950. And, before I even downloaded the app, I went to phone update and in to developers. There, I set the button to "developers mode" and then downloaded the app from the link so kindly given. Maybe you could try the same thing after you uninstall. Then try to reinstall again.

I have also tried many different versions. mostly the XAP wont install.
this one is finally working. found it in this thread.
Sideload with the WPV XAP Deployer in developer mode. SDK 8.1 app deployer didn't recognize my Lumia 950 XL

Can we install only skype, I don't want to loose messages, call list and everything else after flashing a firmware.

There isnt one
Samsung hasnt released the FW yet to enable VOIP. That will only come with Bada 2.0
So for now there is no VOIP Bada Skype. Its been documented on about 3000 other threads and forum posts.
Until Bada 2.0 dont expect to see it in the App store at all
According to wmpoweruser.com WhatsApp is now available at the marketplace.
Isn't showing in the UK yet.

It is not as good as I hoped. Very laggy and a sloppy design, far from professional. Hopefully this will change soon, maybe they pulled it for some reason and thats why it does not show up on the phone.

Currently I am building and shortly will be done with my Facebook Metro App for Windows 8 and the idea is to have 2 UI's.
1). Full Screen w/Most Features.
2). Half-Sized w/Basic features so you can use your favorite App's while still accessing your Facebook features, feed and etc.
Question is, what would YOU want added to either UI?

After or on Tuesday, I can share the design as I am scheduled with a MS Engineer to help my App have the final touches and tested as well and hopefully first Facebook App in the Store.

Offline messages? As in check for personal messages and grab them and save them for no-connection viewing and respond while offline and when/if connection available automatically send?

Well FBMetro is really just the project name, Facebook already has an App registered as Facebook Metro.
The half-sized mode is in fact the snapped mode... I have included old-SS of which the actual App does not represent anymore as of my meeting with my Microsoft sponsor who wouldn't permit me to go any further with the design, even though I was nowhere near done lol.
Note: Job Discovery is my other App for Win8 and is actually currently a free WP7 App. In the photo you can see that my Facebook App can be used by other Developers to post information from their App using my pre-established Auth to the end-users Facebook Account. Yes, they can actually implement my App to be used by theirs.

Hello everyone! My mom is currently using a 640XL. She's very happy with it. The phone works well, looks good. But there's a problem. WhatsApp will no longer be supporter after 2020. I'm looking for a fix, some way that she can keep this app. Does that exist?
Worst case scenario, can Google store be downloaded into the phone so she can access it from there? I know there's a way to do this with Kindle tablets but unsure if it applies to windows phones.
I'm not a programmer or even programming literate but will try and follow instructions if there's anything to be done.

Don't get it. Sure that's how it works. You'd need a second device to scan and authenticate. Then you should be good to go in theory...

I tried it on a Lumia 950XL WoA, and it works. Not sure, that notifications will come with a new message.
I tried the same on a Lumia 710 (WP 7.8) and it sent me to the Store and recommanded WhatsApp. When I tried to install WhatsApp (knowing it can't be installed anymore), the store told me to update my phone.
So you allways will need an Android or iOS device to install your WhatsApp and keep it running, and you can hope that WhatsApp will update their Website in order to prevent you from getting to the App store.

If someone is interested, whatsapp web works in windows 10 mobile using Monument Browser, which is a very good browser you can find in the store.
You'll need a master phone with android or ios app to setup the link.
It seems to me that notifications won't work, but maybe changing some setting in the browser can also fix notifications.

After a hard reset of 950 XL Whatsapp no longer works.
After a hard reset, for me a new installation, I would not get WhatsApp any more. If WhatsApp would run once more, I would suggest to make a WpInternals Backup...
Just to read old messages: Turn on flight mode and reset date to January 13. Do not try to answer an old message...
So for me, patching WhatsApp would help.

Thank you, it works for me as for you. 65% zoom was a good suggestion. Pinning to my home screen did not work, but I use Monumentum only for WhatsApp, so there is no problem.
